3rd time I go on a Tuesday and get a different price from when i went the first time and have ordered the same tacos and drink all 3 times. I tried to place an order online but the app was slower than just going. August 13th, 7pm cst the 2 drive through women, black and hispanic, are Pocketing Money from customers. They got very upset when we said yes to them asking if we wanted our change back, once they gave us our change they took off their headsets walked to the back and never came back. Took 10 minutes for a hispanic male with glasses to come ask for a receipt while the women continued looking and laughing from the back. They all need to be seperated to other locations or fired .. Usually the food here is really good the salsa definitely has flavor and the pollo is just right . My only downfall is the rice is super hard sometimes hard to chew. I went to this El Polo Loco location on San Pedro Bl., and I was very disappointed because, when I made my order on the drive thru, I ordered the 4 piece chicken with 2 sides meal w/o the drink. So, I asked the guy when he asked me what I wanted to order and I said I wanted 3 thighs and 1 leg as it's a 4 piece chicken meal. So, he then said that he didn't have any thighs or legs but, he had breasts and wings. He then said it will take some time for the thighs and legs to be cooked and I asked him as to how long it will take as I was willing to wait for the pieces that I wanted within the order. He then said right away after I said I was asking for the time for the cooking process and he said they suddenly had some. So, I went to the window and I paid $12.99 for my order and I also asked for utensils for the rice that I ordered with the meal and he said that they were in the bag. I looked in the bag when I parked and there wasn't any utensils in the bag and I'm an Rideshare driver and I had some utensils in my vehicle after I looked into my glove box for a fork that I had extra when I remembered I had one. But, he adamantly said that there were utensils in the bag. He seemed really rude. I then looked at the pieces of chicken that I received. There was 1 Breast, 1 Wing, 1 Thigh, and 1 Leg, when I asked for 3 thighs and 1 leg. He said that they had them there and I received half of a chicken. I was lied too and also with ATTITUDE. I don't think I'll be going to that El Polo Loco again. I've gone there 3 times so far during 3 days and so far they haven't gotten my order correct. There wasn't anybody in the parking lot and also inside that I saw people eating so, I wonder as to why they didn't have the proper amount of chicken to be served or ordered by their customers. I was very unhappy with my order today and was unhappy that the guy at the window taking the orders were very rude and unhappy to seem with his job. Being lied to a customer is bad customer service. I wish he would have just said they didn't have any right away instead of making up something that they "suddenly" had more within 1 minute of saying that it will take some time for the "thighs & legs" to be cooked. Fresh ingredients topped along this wrapped up burrito with a fully cooked tortilla....so much better than yucky microwave crap from other so called Mexican food places....This is fast food people.....NOT a restaurant or something special so please don't confuse it for a full blown sit down serviced waitress or waiter experience!! I don't understand the low ratings for EPL. Their chicken is one of the healthiest in San Antonio. Has help me through my weight loss journey when I don't want to cook. Imagine a FF restaurant that gets your to-go order CORRECT every time. YOU CAN'T. But somehow they do every single time. They have a number of healthy choices that taste like real food ALSO. If a franchise could turn away all your future repeat customers and tarnish your brand, this location would be it. They ran out of everything, including chicken, corn, cole slaw, salsa. When we asked for extra of what salsa they had, the first comment was "you have to pay for it". The order took over 20 minutes to get ready. We came home with three side dishes of rice, which looked like it was 4 days old, where the rice was crystallized and hard to chew like some candy. Salsa was also not fresh, looked like it was a few days old. We used to love El Pllo Loco but this place makes me want to never come back and eat at any of their locations. The men's bathroom has this hilarious set up. There's a door latch. The paper towels were out, no lid on the soap dispenser. On my way out of this place, there was a clear open box with blue liquid, labeled sanitizer near the door. We come from another state where el pollo loco was our go to take out for the family. This is the first time we had it here. We got a family meal and the chicken that was given to us was burned. We asked for green salsa, they were out, we asked for extra pico de gallo, they gave us 6 small containers for a family meal that were not even a 1/4 filled. It was very "meh." We placed our order, which included 2 drinks, at the drive-thru. When we pulled up, the guy at the window told us that the ice machine was broken (really wish he had mentioned this earlier, because we wouldn't have ordered drinks). After he charged my sister, he let her know that the Diet Dr Pepper was out. She ended up changing her drink to Diet Coke even though she doesn't like Diet Coke because he made it seem like he couldn't fix the charge in the system. He wasn't rude about it -- just not helpful. Full disclosure, the guy at the window seemed nice, which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. When we pulled out, I took a sip of my tea (it wasn't even room temperature, it was actually hot) and decided to toss it because who wants to drink hot tea when it's 103 degrees outside? It was really gross, tbh. We parked somewhere to eat (drinkless, mind you). My salad looked sad (sour cream haphazardly tossed at one end of the container, avocado sporting brown spots). The flavor was okay, but it just didn't look appetizing--like, at all. I'm a visual eater, so this was a bummer. I ordered a tostada salad that came with black avocados, no cilantro sauce for the salad and burnt rice. Upon inspecting my food I quickly lost my appetite. I get resturants are short handed, but when I went during my lunch break, the cashier should have warned me that they are shorthanded and very behind. Nothing here is fresh, not the salsa and toppings bar nor the drink station because its an annoying fly buzzing around landing everywhere. Same with the food, it wasn't fresh. The chips were overly salty and stale. The Baja shrimp tostada bowl was OK, they only put 3 shrimps in the bowl, the bowl itself was greasy and stale. The Spanish rice and beans at the bottom of the bowl didn't taste like authentic Mexican rice. Thank goodness for that cilantro sauce or else that bowl would have been nasty. After reading the reviews I decided the family and would still try it. Let me tell you (for us) nothing like what was mentioned on the lower rated reviews. The place was clean and constantly kept that way while we were there. Staff was friendly and they came by and asked how we were doing. Food was cooked as expected with no surprises.
