Was looking for a quick lunch and stopped by El Super Pan because I saw they had gluten-free menu items. I ordered the tofu cubano on tostones and a side of yuca fries. Tofu Cubano (gf): the tostones (fried plantains) served as the sandwich "bread" but you can't really eat it with your hands, so I just ate it open-faced with a fork and knife. Tbh I should've got the chicken sandwich because the tofu was underwhelming. It was pretty much mixed greens, some housemade gochujang, and tofu. Not a very exciting sandwich; I was underwhelmed and had that feeling where I regret getting what I ordered. The tostones were pretty bland, hence why I ate it open-faced (too much starch). On todays Ponce City Market adventure I decided to stop at El Super Pan. El Super Pan is a Latino based restaurant that offers different types of bowls and sandwiches. Definitely a good spot for you if you wanna have something more on the healthy side. Like most restaurants at PCM, El Super Pan has a bar like area for you to eat at as well as two bench tables nearby. However, if you've been to PCM before you know there's a few different areas around to sit and enjoy a meal. I went with a bowl. You have the option to pick a base and match it with a protein. I had brown rice, slow cooked pink beans along with veggies as my base ($8) and shrimp al ajillo ($11) which is garlic sautéed adobo shrimp, onions, garlic confit and shrimp broth. This bowl is absolutely flavorful. There's a great amount of shrimp given and the portion is more than enough. Also aside from the shrimp rice, and beans, there was also potatoes that came with this entree. I didn't like them as much as I did everything else because they weren't crispy enough or at all. The texture of the potatoes was as if they had been boiled rather than grilled or fried. Other than that, the shrimps were sautéed to me liking, the rice was good and although I'm not a huge bean guy. I had no complaints. Now this place... is DELICIOUS!! I was on such a high horse eating my food - in complete "Don't talk to me mode" and I was begging my stomach not to get full. IN SHORT: If I lived in Atlanta this place would be dangerous lol I'd eat here all the time. The pork belly I had literally melted in my mouth like magic & the mofongo was sooo flavorful. Only thing would be that after awhile the food became a bit too salty to eat. You must eat their empanada with the pique sauce. So good once I got home I was pinteresting Pique Recipes to try & recreate. We sat at the bar but only noticed how BUSY they were for lunch when we looking behind us at the people waiting for their food. The staff moved very swiftly in an extremely organized manner. Tried the Cuban sandwich and I'm so conflicted because I really did enjoy the Cuban a lot but my issue is that it was kinda cold in the middle? When I think of Cuban sandwiches I feel like they are usually so hot you can barely bite into them yet without letting them cool off. Wasn't the experience here. I loved the sauces including the chimichurri and the spicy Mayo I asked for the on the side. The side of beans and rice were extremely basic and did not have any resemblance and classics black beans and rice that you get at traditional Cuban spots. They were pinto beans over brown rice. El Super Pan is an awesome little Latino sandwich restaurant and bar inside Ponce City Market. They have really unique flavor combinations and, for this market, their prices are good for what you get. I ordered the Smoked Tofu Bun ($4.75) and the legendary Guava Cheese Pastry ($3.50). Both were packed with incredibly fresh flavor combinations and I was pleasantly fully after finishing. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was how oily the bun was but that may just be how it is and my personal preference - I'm that person that wipes extra grease off pizza, so take with a grain of salt. The staff were super kind here. I parked across the street in the shopping center lot. The bun was made within 10 minutes. The seating is a little scarce but if you're with a group of 2-3 you should be fine. Music was fun and active, and decor is modern hip Latino. I went to a lot of vegan restaurants while I was in ATL and El Super Pan had my favorite vegan meal of them all. I'd gone to the Ponce City Market with the intention of eating at Bar Vegan, but after peeping the menu and the vibe of the place and remembering the so-so food at Slutty Vegan I decided to keep looking until I came across El Super Pan. The smoked tofu sandwich with yucca fries was tasty, simple and fast. The two vegan sauces I had were incredible and I'm sure they mayo based ones are bomb too. This place has become my new favorite place for a Panini! This sandwich had so much meat and flavor it was ridiculous. It comes with Cuban roasted pork, ham, chicharron, Swiss cheese, pickles and yellow mustard ( which I did not get ... not a mustard fan). It comes with is amazing green sauce which I think is a Chimichurri sauce. The sandwich is good without it but that sauce just takes it to the next level. The sandwich comes with a side for $15 and I decided to try the yucca fries. I am so glad I did those yucca fries were so good! Now don't forget to get the aïoli to dip your yucca fries in chef's kiss. they have two locations one in Ponce city market and the other at the battery. Ok let me just start by saying NICO is the best manager and he deserves a raise !!! He really engages with customers and provides excellent service. He made me these wonderful old fashions and customized each one. I went back two days in a row just to see him. Anytime I'm in Atlanta I will absolutely come here (I'm from Texas) Now for the food, i got a rice and beans bowl with the olive sofrito chicken. The chicken is SO JUICY AND TENDER. Walking through Ponce City Market you can be overwhelmed with the choices of food to choose from. Walking by El Super Pan you are overwhelmed by the the aromas from the kitchen, the Latino music ringing out and the menu written on the chalkboard that is sticking out in the walkway. While looking at the menu I was torn at what to get as everything was calling out to me. I decided to get the mofongo with the Cuban spiced pork. I miss not having good mofongo options out west so I was taken away with my first bite. Consistency was right on with the right amount of garlic. The pork was spiced perfectly and was melt in your mouth. They gave you a container of au jus to pour over with roof the pork to a whole new level. I washed this all down with a Cuba Libre, Havana club rum with a splash of Mexican coke and lime wedge. I recommend trying something from here while you are in the market read more

The sandwich is farm Cubano was amazing. I didn't actually read the menu when I stood in line. I just picked to the most top left item. I didn't realize that it didn't have meat in it until I took a bite. My first bite was skeptical. A vegetable sandwich just doesn't sound delicious but I started to take notice on my second bite. I didn't expect a vegetable sandwich to have so much flavor. The vegetables were perfectly roasted with adobo flavor. Even my wife enjoyed the sandwich and she hates vegetables. The pork belly bun is 3/5 stars. It was tasty enough but the pork belly itself was pretty small. As you can see in some pictures, it's completely hidden underneath the vegetables. It takes about 3-4 bites. At $5, it's pretty pricey and I didn't think it was worth the price. I wouldn't order this again. Would I come here again? Yea. The only thing that would have made them better would have been garlic salt, but that's just a personal preference. I love Latin food, and will take the opportunity to grab a plate of it whenever I can. That said, I'd heard about El Super Pan, but had never visited. I happened to be in PCM around Christmas, was hungry AF, and it seemed like the perfect time to try 'em out. Ordered mofongo w/ shrimp, and a chicken pastelillo, and was all set. In all honesty, if I'd have taken a bit more time to scope this spot out before ordering, would TOTALLY have skipped the mofongo, and ordered the plato navideno, for about the same money. The mofongo was on point - seasoned well, great texture, and complimented well by the garlicky shrimp. Both the wife and I enjoyed it, and while I may want to fuss a bit about the portion size, I've got no complaints about the flavor. First time visiting ATL so I went on a walk along the belt line. It was really cool to stop by Ponce City Market. There are so many good choices and I decided to stop by here because I'm big with sandwiches. I got the Olive Sofrito Chicken sandwich, it took about 20 minutes on a day with normal traffic. The bread was fresh made which I really liked, I prefer to wait longer for a fresh meal. This is the thing with chicken plates, it's usually dry and this was no different. I'd recommend to ask extra regular and spicy sauce on the side. The price for this was $15 which I think is way too much for a sandwich. Considering the price to sandwichness, I give this place 3 stars. I'm content that I gave it a try but my girlfriend got a Mediterranean plate from another spot which was cheaper and tasted good. While visiting Atlanta, we strolled through Ponce City Market to have a bite to eat after shopping. There are so many choices inside the market, it was so hard to choose but I don't have Cuban food often and a hot Cuban sandwich sounded divine. El Super Pan is located on an end cap of the strip of restaurants inside the market. They were playing some great music and we saw multiple people placing orders here. We stood in line and we were instantly greeted by the cashier. She answered all our questions about the different foods and was very helpful. I decided to go with a hot cubano sandwich and a side of tostones and a Lulu agua Fresca. My friend opted for the Mofongo bowl with shrimp and a spicy tomato-coconut sauce and a margarita. Our food was ready at the pick-up window within 10 minutes. There is plenty of seating inside of the market so we found a booth and got to eating. The cubano was so tasty and a big sandwich. You could definitely split this with someone. I only ate half and picked out the meat of the other half. My friends meal was so delicious and packed with flavor. Overall, this was a great meal. It was a little on the pricy side in my opinion. I paid a little over $20 including a tip for my meal and my friend's was close to $40 including a tip. This was a pretty big disappointment. For reference, what I know of Puerto Rican cuisine, and Latin American food in general, comes from the many years I lived in Miami. This was not anything close to that. The mango agua Fresca was probably the best item I had. The beef empanada has a flaky crust more along the lines of puff pastry than a traditional pie-type crust and the picadillo inside was subpar. The yuca fries were way too hard. My bf could barely eat even half of the Cuban sandwich, not because it was large (it was), but because he didn't like it. I had what I guess they are calling mofongo. Weirdly, it kind of tasted like falafel. There was some good crunch in there from what I assume was chicharrones, but the color and taste were, let's say, non traditional. I also got a mouthful of raw garlic that stuck with me the entire night and made the rest of the food I ate after it taste nauseating. The consommé that was served on the side was greasy. We did both enjoy the chicken. I would say, if you don't know what this kind of food is supposed to taste like, you may enjoy the flavors and food overall. Service was fast and friendly. It wasn't busy at PCM at all so we didn't have any trouble sitting at a nearby table. All of the seats at the bar were taken. read more

But we would have to say it is not authentic Cuban sandwich but Americanized, because we just tried Cuban sandwich at little Havana in Miami. VEGAN REVIEW: I don't usually go to PCM because I try to avoid crowds as much as possible, but my brother was visiting the ATL and he's in to places like Ponce. I thought this was a great chance for me to finally try the Tofu bun from El Super Pan. When I went up to order, I double checked the menu to make sure the tofu bun was vegan. To my surprise, there was no "V" next to the bun on the menu. I asked the cashier why this was the case and he said that the bun uses YEAST and if I don't consider YEAST to be non-vegan, then the tofu bun is vegan. First, I was caught off guard ... is this something else I have to avoid?!?! Then, I laughed to myself and ordered the dang tofu bun. I also ordered a side of rice and beans. Overall, the tofu bun was really tasty but quite expensive for the price. It's something I would get every now and then, but would not brave the PCM crowds just to get it. We said no problem, placed a quick order, and waited patiently. Wouldn't be an issue, however when two other parties (they were Caucasian; *note* we are not Caucasian) came to the window and placed orders- they were not told that it had to be take out. I confronted the bartender about it and she played dumb. To prove a point, I purchased a single beer from a different bartender and tipped her $60.
