    Breakfast Taco Salad
    Steven W.

Still five stars. Still good food. Still friendly service. I recently discovered the breakfast taco salad. It's a taco salad with eggs on top. It's not on the menu, but if you ask nicely, they'll probably make you one. They have a small patio with two tables - it's a great spot to watch all the Venice excitement. I prefer the patio to the tables on the sidewalk.

This is my go to place when I'm near the pier and riding. The food is always decent. It's not the best. It's not the worst but it's consistent and I like it ! It's a very diverse man and they also have tacos too. If you're in the area, give it a try because the price is reasonable and the food is good!

This was my first time at this location. I ordered the #3. 2 cheese enchiladas with a beef taco and a side sope. First of all the cheese was NOT melted inside the enchilda, then the taco had NO and I mean NO flavor. Moving on to the sope. I went to pick it up and it was stuck to the plate with beans on the bottom also NO flaver as well. I'm sorry when do you put beans in the bottome of a sope??????? The WORST place to eat. Do not heat here. Save your money. Also got a Quesadilla same cheese not melted

A HIDDEN GEM OF AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD! This is the real deal folks. Savory, home cooked choices. A local haunt with lots of character. Nice service, attentive and no nonsense. Reasonable, fresh ingredients and amazing marisco/seafood. You will leave satisfied and full. When in the area, I will be certain to make it a stop!

Carnitas El Tarasco Burrito Mojado style.

I've been going to different El Tarasco locations over the last 30 years. The portions are always large and they have consistently served good food. They aren't fancy by any means but they are clean and the service is good. I usually have a favorite meal but today I thought I'd get something different. I saw the El Tarasco Burrito hiding at the bottom of the menu. I always get my burritos mojado style and I love carnitas but have never tried them here so I gave it a shot. You always get a basket with salsa and whole fried corn tortillas that you break up. But I suppose you could leave them whole and make a mini tostada. As usual the plate comes out as hot as the surface of the sun so be careful if you touch it. The carnitas were cooked perfectly. They had a nice browning that many places don't do. WOW! Was this delicious. The other burritos have a lot of different ingredients that complement but compete with each other. This however was simple. Onions, cilantro and salsa verde. It allowed the carnitas to really shine. Tender but crispy at the same time. Getting the wet version adds red enchilada sauce and melted cheese on top. It's now my favorite dish here. If you're going to treat yourself to some calories you won't have many regrets afterwards I promise. The only drawback to this location is parking. Thus the four stars. They have a tiny lot in the alley but it's full on the weekends.

Awesome taco Tuesday special. You can get between asada, chicken or pork for only $1.50 per taco. I got both assda and pork which was excellent.

El Tarasco is one of my wife's favs for good Mexican food. She loves the carnitas plate. We stopped by for lunch/dinner so being a fan of caldo, I went with the Caldo de Carmona (Shrimp soup). It was outstanding and full of a mixture of whole shrimp as well as without the head. A very tasty dish. The margarita added a nice touch and for $8.50 who can complain? El Tarasco does have limited parking, entering in the alley just to the east of the restaurant. Also, their chips and salsa are very good but instead of chips they feature a whole crispy tortilla (similar to a tostada shell). Prices are reasonable and service is very prompt.

El Tarasco is one of my neighborhood favorites! I've been coming here for years. Sometimes I just simply crave it. Taco Salad: Love it! Incredibly flavorful, as well as colorful! Love the guacamole & sour cream, yum! Plus, an edible bowl, perfect! I order it minus the meat. It's a whole meal in itself. Favorites: Cheese Enchiladas are cheesy deliciousness, alongside beans and rice. Taco Salad, yum. Bean & cheese burritos... I usually add salsa. Customer Service: Super Friendly & upbeat! Sometimes when I walk by on my way to the post office or to walk throughout the Venice Canals, we wave at each other and/or say hello! Dining Options: Tables out front; scene can get quite busy, because they're on the sidewalk, which leads to the beach! Plenty of indoor & bar seating. My favorite outdoor spot w/tables is hidden away on the side, which still allows you to people watch & enjoy the plants, as well as string lights! I usually call in my order to go!

I'm still exploring the neighborhood bit by bit. And this is the latest coolest place I've been to somewhere btn covid scares and being safe. It's out of doors which always soothes my soul in these uncertain of times. It's a block form the sea in Venice beach and a few blocks from home. They have all sorts of combos and the food was delicious. Not greasy, or unhealthy, just yummy and vegetarian Mexican options. It was exactly what my heart desired. A chill outdoor space by the sea, unassuming, with yummy food. It's all a girl can ask for. Oh and good company. Note: you can order breakfast for dinner! The service was delightful and every need promptly addressed, thank you. Not sure how the parking goes, as we walked over. But hey if you're in Venice beach, you know parking is it's own beast. Anything walking distance is currently on my menu. So if ya feel a lil chill, a lil seaside, a lil California Mexican. This is it kids. Eat yr hearts out. And then walk it off by the sea. Maybe don't eat too many beans. Hahah. You're welcome.

Crazy rip off and not good . 6.50 for this tiny 2oz of guacamole. The burrito was whatever as well

Both were delicious & The spicy tuna roll was my niece's favorite dish! Sharing is Caring | Shareable plates were my idea, as there were five of us! Why not sample the menu in all of its glory, as well as order a little something, each of us like?! After all, it was my first time dining here! Though all of us enjoyed the shrimp, one bowl of the shrimp was definitely enough for all of us! We didn't know the portion would be so huge! Family Affair | It was exciting having family in town to visit & I selected this restaurant for lunch! I knew that they appreciated places that were aesthetic, as well as had great food! Belles Beach House served Island Glam & memorable bites! There She Glows | She naturally glows, once you step inside, the lighting is so nice! It's such a beautiful place! When we arrived, the entrance was constantly blocked by the hostess and security chatting. One staff member told me to head to the bar to order, but security then acted like I was doing something wrong. A little communication between staff would go a long way. At the bar, I was skipped twice while waiting to order. When I pointed it out, the bartender told me to "hold on" while assisting a 3rd walk up after me. I asked if we could move to an open table with table service as there were many empty for ghe hour we had already been there and was told no because they were too busy. Fair enough, but that's exactly when management should be visible, coordinating staff and helping guests. Instead, when I spoke with a manager, the response was essentially that he was focused on the bar area. Good management oversees the entire operation, especially during peak periods. I was one of 5 people in our party who spent around $100 on food and drinks (apx $500 spent in total), yet the service was a mess. If it's self-service, that's fine...but make it clear and make it work. Instead, I was skipped at the bar while ordering, staff gave conflicting directions, and there was virtually no support once we had our food. We found ourselves constantly going back and forth to the bar for drinks, utensils, soy sauce, and anything else we needed. No one checked in, and getting help from staff or management was nearly impossible. The food was decent, but the customer experience wasn't. Venice Beach is always busy. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If you're going to market yourself as part of that vibrant community, you need the operational standards to match.

Everyone seemed to recommend this place, so I figured it had to be worth the hype. Plot twist: I didn't realize it was vegetarian until I was already looking at the menu. Normally I'd be a little skeptical, but WOW... I never once found myself wishing there was meat on my plate. I ordered the Spicy Italian pizza, the oyster mushroom "calamari," and a glass of wine, and every single bite was delicious. That pizza though... It was hands-down the star of the meal. Crispy crust, packed with flavor, and honestly one of those pizzas I'd happily drive back to Venice just to eat again. The oyster mushroom "calamari" was also surprisingly convincing. Crispy, flavorful, and a really fun twist on a classic appetizer. And here's the real review: I took the leftover pizza home for my parents, and we all know leftover pizza can be hit or miss. Somehow this one was STILL amazing straight from the fridge. That alone deserves bonus points. If you're shopping on Abbott Kinney and need a break (or if you're just looking for a really great meal), don't let the vegetarian menu fool you. Even this meat lover left completely satisfied. I'll absolutely be back... mostly because I'm already thinking about that pizza.

I loved the matcha latte and avocado toast so much that I decided to drive two hours to come experience the café in person as a treat to myself. Unfortunately, I left feeling extremely disappointed. From the beginning, the service felt unfriendly. I tried showing my server what I had ordered previously because I wanted to recreate the experience I had before, but I didn't feel like she was very receptive or interested in looking at it. When my food arrived, the avocado toast was completely different from what I had originally ordered. When I explained that it wasn't what I had received before, it became clear there may have been a misunderstanding in how the order was entered, but the interaction made me feel uncomfortable, as though I was being treated like I had caused the issue. I wasn't looking to complain -- I was genuinely trying to clarify what I wanted. On top of that, service was very slow and my order wasn't taken until about 20 minutes after I was seated. My matcha latte was also disappointing compared to my first experience. I made a special trip because I had been so impressed the first time, which made this experience especially upsetting. I understand that mistakes happen, but I hope there can be more attention to customer service and communication in the future because I left feeling unwelcome and sad rather than excited to return.

We were seated and our waiter was the most impersonal waiter ever, he never even said his name, to us. It was like he was a robot. Again to see that the menu was not the same was disappointing, yet our appetizer came out super fast and over all the food was bland and nothing special for the price point, yet it did come out hot, which was a plus. I had asked for the server to sing him happy birthday and for a desert to be brought out and I picked out the desert to add to the bill and he said that he could not do that service, yet before leaving 2 other servers were bringing out deserts and singing happy birthday to 2 other tables. The view was pretty, I'm sure this place is beautiful and wonderful for brunch, but for dinner this is not a place to be for elevated dining. Booked a 6pm dinner reservation and showed up 15min early. The hostess was amazing and read that we wanted a more secluded table not next to big groups so she sat us against the window in the corner to the left of where you walk in. It was a lovely spot - the people watching was fantastic! Revelation #1: if you want a specific accommodation for your table, make sure to note it in your reservation, be nice about it, but also be understanding of the time. We went early to get a good table. Revelation #2: if you want to avoid people and a loud atmosphere, come for an early dinner. They bump up the volume of the music and bass around 645-7pm which means everybody is talking very loud to be able to hear above the music. Our server came quickly, we never got his name or I would give him a shout out. Him and his shadow were great, but our server in particular had some great meal suggestions we never would have picked ourselves. Revelation #3: If you're a foodie, ask your server for recos. Ask what's new, what's freshest, what's special. Especially if it's summer because they will be getting the best of the best produce every week. The meal: - Thai crudo: 8/10 - liked it was slightly different than what you would expect at a sushi restaurant - *Cucumber salad: 10/10! Bright, fresh, summery, special. Lemon, Italian, Persian and mouse melon (mini) cucumbers with herbs and citrus. Beautiful plating, fantastic salad and reco. - Myrna potato pizza: 5/10. Wanted to love it but was really bland following the cucumber salad. - Sweet corn agnolotti: 9/10. Really tasty just wish there were more! Think there was heirloom corn - Spaghetti: 7/10. Spicy. Too spicy for me but we are generally no-spice people so if you like spicy this is for you. It's not overwhelmingly spicy. Flavor was good but not mind blowing. - Pana cotta with seasonal fruits: 8/10. Nice and light. Ours was mango/lime. Opted out of heavier deserts because we were so full by now. Wished we would have gotten a meat main instead of the spaghetti. Would also try a different pizza, anything but what we got. Wasn't terrible but wasn't flavorful. Great meal. We'll be back to try out brunch on the patio with the remains of our gift card!

(For any cilantro haters like me, I didn't even realize it was in there until right now when I'm referencing the menu to write this review, so don't miss out just cuz of that!). The side of coconut rice was so fluffy and perfect (not the usual sticky sweet version that's personally not my jam). For dessert we tried both the sticky toffee and the toasted coconut flan and they were both amazing, too. The flan had this touch of lime zest that added lightness and freshness and helped to cap off the meal without being too rich, so that was my favorite. Shout out to Diane for being such a fun server--we loved your energy and you made my birthday extra special--thank you!!!

Si! Mon has been one of my favorite meals in LA, period. Everything is excellent and extremely…read moredelicious and well crafted. The portions are also a solid size and not so tiny you don't leave full. Every single thing I had was a hit, from the fried chicken, to the tartare, to the pork belly and the dumplings - just divine, everything. The service was excellent and the vibes are intimate though the space is large. I highly highly recommend checking this place out as someone who likes most things but rarely loves a place this much, you really need to check it out. The drinks were also well crafted. The flavors take you on a bit of a journey with their complexity and the flavors blend so thoughtfully together. It's a meal to remember, and definitely a great option for a special occasion, too!
