Visited this location for their lunch buffet... 19.99 per person. The buffet contained their traditional Caesar salad, enchiladas, meat/potatoes, rice, and refried beans. In addition a taco bar with carnitas, steak, and chicken options with cabbage, cilantro/onions; and cheese, along with various deserts including flan, corn cake, and carrot cake. The restaurant itself was large and spacious with plenty of booths and tables. The floors were a little on the dirty side, but the tables were presentable. The server brought us salsa and chips with out drinks. The service from our male server was top notch. For the food it was a mixed bag. The taco bar was hot and fresh with two salsa options. The meat was hot and tender with warm corn tortillas. The salad was tasty with the Mexican Caesar salad dressings. The enchiladas were plain and not very tasty, but the sides were lacking. Lepe was fantastic! He was so sweet, friendly and lively! $15.50 for all you can eat buffet! We were seated immediately when we walked in at 11am. Nice and clean restaurant! With freshly prepared corn tortillas, I had high hopes for the dish! ..I mentioned all you can eat tacos right?! Well they came through, I loved how everything was neatly placed! That's edible was the shrimp. I have not been to an El TORITO in several years so I was excited when I came across this location while in the area. We walk in and are seated immediately. We are told it's Taco Tuesday so tacos are $3 each and that it's happy hour. Good to know! Chips and salsa were served immediately. Unfortunately, the chips were really salty. We ordered and it took longer than we expected to get our orders, but I assumed it was due to the large party seated near by and it was starting to get busy. We shared a guacamole, which was decent. I had the fajita salad. The dressing was very good but the chicken could have used more seasoning. My partner had the sizzling green chicken enchiladas. Those were fantastic! Our server checked on us periodically but it took some time to get the check taken care. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and look forward to returning. read more

We did not have a great experience at El Torito. First and foremost, the server and staff were great. However, the food was bad. Our food was warm (not hot). That included the fish tacos that I ordered and the appetizers we ordered. We also ordered fajitas. That was hot but the steak was really dry. It feels like our food was prepped in advance. I am not opposed to this practice if the re-heating is done right. I think the kitchen staff was off their mark on our ticket. Bottomless mimosas and brunch! We went around 11 am on a Sunday morning even though it was pretty busy we opted to sit outside and were sat immediately. Our server greeted us with French toast pancakes and took our drink order. The mimosas are obviously delicious, and they were always full. The coffee is self serve. I tried the menudo and it was pretty good, the broth was a little watery not as rich as I'm used too. The pozole verde was also good. The chilaquiles were really really good and crispy which for a buffet is surprising. The rice and beans were also good they tasted homemade. The chile verde wasn't too spicy but it was very tasty. The elote tamale was my favorite even though it was in pieces. The pancakes they served us when we arrived were really sweet and fluffy. They had so many options and kid friendly, I couldn't try everything but everything that I did try was worth it. We came on a Friday night, Our server was covering 3 different areas and at least 20 tables (probably more since we couldn't see all the tables from our seats). The food was okay - the table side guac was good, the fiesta platter was a hot mess, and the fajitas were alright. The house margaritas were a bit disappointing, they didn't really taste like anything. There's a bar area and a restaurant style seating area. Maybe the bar area is better staffing wise? I have only been here once, at the recommendation of some close friends. The location is quiet, low key and tucked away in ontario not to far from the mall. Interestingly they have one area for dinners to sit that want to enjoy their regular menu and the bar section is for those that want to indulge in happy hour. Speaking of their happy hour is almost every day and goes until closing during game nights. In the bar area there is a security guard that does a thorough pat down before you can head in for happy hour. The bar area is thankfully very expansive and seems to be where most people hang out. There is a dance floor of if you care to get your boogie on as well. There is a large drink menu with I appreciated. From shots to beers to mixed drinks, so you get to have options depending on your mood. It's not just bud light or coors. They also have food to order, although they are not large portions by any means. They are more like heavy hors d'oeuvres. I got the sopes, which come in twos and only chicken. This was the first time I've ever had a chicken some but it was fantastic. My only issues was I wish it was larger. It was the first time I've had a sope that didn't have beans on it as well. My friend got their sliders which come in four. It's one of her favorite items, but again it looked very much in the small side. I recommend giving them a try if your in the mood for drinks and a good atmosphere. I will check them out again to try their general dinning in the future. read more
