We had a semi-private event here and from the reservation to dining, everything was great! Location is great, right on the pier. We had our party of 25 set up on their outside patio for a lunch buffet. Would've loved if our tables were inside but only the buffet table was inside. I there the other day for lunch the place was not crowded for lunch we got some chip and salsa and our drinks. The salsa tasted funny the waitress I guess took her break that another waitress was going to help you we ask for chips and she never came back. I ask another waiter for chips he just look at me and went back to finish what he was doing. Finally the food came and we got our chips and I didn't get my corn cake for my meal. This location fails at customer service. They are on my blacklist. We arrived late, understood. It was 9:35 pm and when we checked in for a party of 5, they quoted us 25 minutes. We accepted and sat down right in front of them on the bench. at 9:50 pm, a party of 7 arrives and are told 25 minutes since we are seated waiting right in front of the check in booth, we could hear. at 10:04 I get a text that my table is ready so we stand, but the party of 7 pushes there way past us and they seat them. When the girl gets back, she has to look us up which I can see the times, and all. She seats us two tables over. 10:30 we called for a manager, as 25 minutes had passed. The party of 7? Had chips before we were sat, and their drink order taken. They had food before a waitress even showed up to help us. Only after we explained to an employee that we had to call over what was going on. Manager never came over to say anything, waitress apologized. We got 3 of the 4 dinners, the 4th dinner came 10 minutes later - no dressing for the salad and the waitress never came back to check on drinks, or if we were ok. Honestly - while the food was sub-par in all honesty, stale chips, etc. it was the service and how we were treated that put them on my black list. Never again. read more

To start the views are amazing! Our waiter Hector was seriously the best! Such a people person, being silly with our kids, he gave us great service! We had the grande fiesta platter and guacamole for appetizer, everything was delicious. They make the guacamole fresh at your table. Probably the best location for el Torito brunch as it's by the water! What's nice is the buffet/ayce brunch is served at the stations and they make the tacos, tortillas, and fajitas fresh. What's great is the price for brunch includes bottomless mimosas, which is around $37 a person I believe. Sunday can be busy so you may have to wait depending on the size of your party. Parking is available in the pier parking structure and you can pay at the machine or in the ParkMobile app. Overall food tastes pretty decent, with some items really standing out! Went to El Torito on the Redondo Pier for a birthday dinner on Tuesday. With unobstructed views of the beach and ocean, I really wanted to like this place. Alas while the food and service would have rated higher by themselves, the restaurant has seen better days. The restaurant was two thirds empty at 5pm and the sun set was really pretty. The place is in need of serious renovation and improvements. Food was pretty good and servers were friendly and helpful. They comp'd one of our desserts for the birthday girl. We had a baby with us and so did a couple other families. Good place for drinks and Mexican food with friends and family to watch the sunset. read more

Place is located upstairs of the food court area. Came here a few times while doing outreach Friday night. We got the ignited fajitas supremes a couple of times and it's pretty good. The steak is juicy shrimp and chicken and it comes w guac and cream corn, great for sharing. This time I wanted to order the fish tacos but somehow got the shrimp tacos but I enjoyed it and totally forgot i ordered the fish tacos until I was almost done so decided not to complain about it. Birria tacos were super super dry and sad looking :( Def have had better birria tacos from taco trucks. They ran out of chicken Buffalo strips and didn't tell us until about 20 mins after putting in our order. The manager gave us a hard time about substituting it with another meat (they only offered to give more flautas that we ALREADY had on that dish). After that fiasco, we felt rushed out. Had a really wonderful experience today at Sunday Brunch. A friend and I arrived with my 3 yr old for lunch not realizing it wasn't traditional lunch but an open buffet brunch. We were going to leave because my son was cranky and not having it. I also didn't think brunch was the best for for what we were seeking. However, our amazing waitress, Dawn, talked us through the options and went over the top to help my son settle in and get comfortable. We decided to stay because he was finally, with her help, content and happy. Yes, my three year old runs the show sometimes #momlife It is so hard to eat at restaurants with kids, typically. This place is super kid friendly! But back to my point, Dawn was great, food was amazing, she brought me this huge damn margarita that was exactly what my Sunday afternoon sunshine filled heart needed, she was attentive not only to my friend and I, but to my son. She was obviously busy, as is typical for Sunday brunch but it always felt like she was there to serve us personally. Dawn is kind, gracious, so helpful and a real person that we had some great conversations with. We never went without anything and never waited too long when we needed something. We asked to speak to the manager because we wanted to make sure her amazing work didn't go unnoticed. Benito, was kind, great to conversate with and I can tell an amazing leader. From the way he spoke about the restaurant and corporate expansion options all the while with such kindness and respect for his staff- El Torito is so lucky to have him as a leader. I work in corporate leadership development and I am so impressed with the leaders at El Torito. Even all the way up to the top when executives went without salary to pay staff during the pandemic. Truly a great company that is proof of the idea that when you lead well, people feel empowered and encouraged to follow you. And when that happens it is pure magic for business! And if you're heading to the Redondo Beach location soon, ask for Dawn and tip her extra! She deserves it for how hard she works to make your experience truly epic. Found this place on TikTok and decided to eat here for my birthday. The food is not all that if we are being honest. The host was so rude !! We asked for a seat and she said she can seat us only if I "changed my bottoms" keep in mind WE ARE AT THE BEACH !! I was wearing a long lace skirt as a bikini cover up. No one else had an issue but her. I explained it made no sense and we were at the beach where everyone dressed in swim gear and I was covering. She did not know where to show me they had a dress code or at least explain to me why. She then said she would ask her manager.
