Also dissatisfied with the carne asada fries. It lacked love idk. Lacked a lot of things. Sour cream, cheese, pico or any sort of garnish. Not even the buzz made me enjoy them as much as I would have liked. They were naked. Fries themselves were good though. My sister liked the flautas. I felt like they weren't Mexican style. Not sure what the goal was. Bartender dude also started dusting the top of the bar while we were still eating so that was kind of gross considering it was dusty. The food is nothing special. Standard overpriced Mexican food, mediocre drinks (the margaritas are made with wine btw, not tequila)... this place has no business acting like it's some kind of "fancy" Mexican restaurant. I wouldn't even be super opposed to returning to the place if it wasn't for the abysmal service and ridiculous parking situation. Our server kept bringing other people's order to our table while neglecting to bring us water or the drinks we ordered (even after being reminded). We also never got a refill on our chips despite asking. After 20 long minutes of waiting, our food arrived, and the alcoholic drinks shortly AFTER (again, we were never given water at all even after we kept asking politely). The only place you can really park at this location is in the valet lot (the ENTIRE parking lot is valet, FML), which costs a gut wrenching $8, and forces you to watch the valet move your car 6 feet forward into a clearly marked spot that you couldn't pulled into on your own Once we got our bill (nobody came to check on us and I had to find a worker to get them to bring over the check), we found that we had been charged for a drink we never drank or ordered, and were also charged for a drink that we were told would be free. I told the manger that it was a mistake, and I added that the waiter mentioned he would comp one of our drinks because it arrived so late in the meal (they brought the wrong drink first). Manager pretended like he cared but didn't actually comp the drink, only took off $6 from our order. Oh, and also, they started adding a mandatory 5 percent "service fee" to EVERY BILL. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't seem to respect its customers at all, and expects them to pay an arm and a leg for what they offer. Go to the nearby Islands instead. It actually has good service, good drinks, free parking, and no greedy service fees. read more

The portion sizes are large and well worth the price. The booths in the bar area are large and comfortable. The restaurant is well maintained and clean. Amazing restaurant! El Torito is situated in a plaza with other shops and has plenty of surrounding parking. My friend and I came here to try their breakfast since we were told about their huge portions. We were immediately greeted by the friendly waitresses that gave us the option of various tables. Our waiter was attentive and friendly as well and made sure we were well taken care of. We ordered the steak and eggs which was so big, I couldn't finish. Oh my plate, I received two eggs fried hard at my request, 12 ounces of steak, beans and tortillas on the side. My friend and I also ordered the churro pancakes which were simply heaven. They are so soft and just the right balance of sweetness. Everything came out delicious and fresh. While we came in the morning, you can tell during happy hour and dinner, the restaurant is festive and fun. The restaurant is overall large with space for multiple parties or events. During the weekends, they seem to have a Buffett selection and on Tuesdays, a taco Tuesday selection. I will definitely be back to try it! read more

I've been here several times and always enjoy it especially their happy hour deals, which are available pretty much every day. They're genuinely worth it and better than most bars. The food is great, especially considering it's happy hour definitely a step above the usual bar fare. I love the mojito (blackberry) and the flight mojito!I also love that they have sports on the tvs, everything about this place is just so convenient. Our server was juggling multiple tables, including ones outside the bar area, but still provided great service. One thing that really stood out to me, I accidentally left my bag behind and called right away. Been twice in a week. Last night I got 3 Birria tacos for $8. They were delicious and cheaper then what I've paid at the taco truck up the street by CVS. Came here for brunch this past week and was very happy with the variety of foods. Taco station, omelette station, American breakfast foods, typical Mexican breakfast foods, seafood, desserts; they have it all. The brunch also includes bottomless mimosas and they are delicious! You can even request different fruit juices if you want to try something other than orange. The table service is quick and attentive with clearing dishes. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the layout makes it hard to maneuver around the different stations if it's busy and some stations don't have someone set there so sometimes you have to ask someone from another station to come serve you since they have plastic dividers so that you don't serve yourself. P.S I know you might be tempted to skip on the churro pancakes but I highly recommend you don't! Ask your serve for them if they don't bring them out since they come from the kitchen and not the buffet line. read more

The worst part was at the end -- they tried to overcharge us with strange surcharges no one could clearly explain, and then added extra tax on top of the tip. I used to enjoy this restaurant, but this experience completely changed my opinion. The food and atmosphere were disappointing, and I no longer recommend coming here. It cost roughly $32 dollars per person for the brunch buffet. They had a variety of foods available, each area was organized by pastries (pan dulce, waffles, muffins) Mexican hot chocolate, salad bar, fruit bar, dessert table with flan, ice cream and churros. they also provide each table with complimentary cinnamon sugar pancakes that were super tasty! The hot area had MANY hot dishes to choose from. I would definitely recommend coming in on an empty stomach to be able to try all the delicious foods. El Torito is located inside an outside mall with limited parking, and the actual parking for this restaurant was valet. Took us over 20 minutes to park! The seating was quick. You can make reservations via the internet or by phone. They have a nice sized menu and we ended up ordering the combo plates for two tacos and for the spinach enchiladas with cheese. Neither of us had heard of this before so she tried them. She also had the sample size margueritas. Huge portions of food. Mine was a bit spicy, kinda a southwestern style which I am not a huge fan of. Nonetheless they were good. Rice and beans very good, but also spicy. Interesting ! She thought the enchiladas were great, but the margueritas were kinda sugary and no kick. The food took a while to come as well. Overall 4/5 stars for our combined review. read more

The second to last time we were in there we were able to sit outside for happy hour. Which was really nice. Our server was okay but the service was really slow. And it wasn't that busy. The manager came over at one point to check on us which was nice. The food was really good though. I got a Mexican pizza and the margarita flight. Both were amazing. The last time we were in there they made us sit inside for happy hour. In a specific spot. Which is fine. But I'm curious as to why we couldn't sit outside this time. Our server was really friendly. Absolutely loved her. Unfortunately my carne asada nachos that I specifically asked for no beans on had beans. I didn't realize until a few bites in. And at that point I felt bad about sending them back so I ate around them, but couldn't eat the majority of the meal. They gave me a side salad as kind of a make up for it.
