    Oat chai
    Belinda W.

So glad I made it to the grand opening and opted for the oat chai. Delicious, creamy, and the cardamom was not overpowering. I really like that the dairy alternative did not compromise on taste. I am definitely looking forward to the next visit and trying their lattes along with the baked goods.

    Better here than expected.

This. Is. Great! Instead of visiting towards the East Bay and into downtown Berkeley, I would definitely come to the second location of Elaichi in SoMa. And instead of coffee, how about some karak chai for San Franciscans who haven't yet set foot in Berkeley? Of course, there's same cardamom pastries, some karak chai blend pouches, and some more merchandise. And this brand spanking new café space is bigger than its former. Same service like before, but contactless payment as always. I first made it there for a good cup of oat chai followed by a pouch blend during the grand opening. Hope even the Yelp elites can finally set their sights here at Elaichi in SoMa! (ÒwÓ)b

As a chai lover I was so excited to see this cafe opening on Tik Tok. The space is beautiful and open. I enjoyed their seasonal banana chai, I think the banana came through just enough to still let the chai shine. I don't drink coffee so I did not miss it on the menu. The elaichi bun surprised me the most, it was probably my favorite part. It paired so well with the chai, I definitely recommend getting it warm.

    Bun, cookie, pistachio cake

Got to try the Elaichi bun, chocolate chip cookie, and pistachio cake from Elaichi. All on the more dry side and would go well with coffee, but I wouldn't recommend on their own. The cardamom flavor comes through pretty strong if you are one to like that.

Elaichi is part of downtowns new Vacant to Vibrant program located on 3rd St. Besides matcha, Chai is my second favorite tea choice and Elaichi delivers. Ordered their popular must try Karak chai, this classic chai features strong hints of cardamom. No sugared drinks passing as chai here! If you love chai or appreciate good tea, check out Elaichi!

This Berkeley based chai spot has made it's way to SF! They have a menu of different chai options and pastries that pair so well together. The indoor seating is cute and fills up fast but the outdoor spots are just as cozy. They'll be having a grand opening event on May 2 so stop by and check them out then if you can. Service was very friendly!

Really enjoyed my visit to Elaichi Co. in San Francisco. The space is beautiful and has a really welcoming vibe, the chai was genuinely excellent, and parking was surprisingly easy which made the whole experience even better. You can tell the ownership really cares about the experience they create for customers. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

The space itself is really nice and cozy, and I was excited to try their chai because the smell of the cardamom and spices was amazing. Unfortunately, the drinks and desserts were just way too sweet for my taste. I ordered a 16 oz chai and honestly regretted getting the larger size because I could only drink about a quarter of it. I really wish they offered a "less sweet" option. I also tried the pistachio cake, but again it was extremely sugary and didn't really taste like pistachio at all. We only had a couple bites and couldn't finish it. On top of that, my drink was forgotten at first while the staff seemed distracted chatting, and I had to go back to the counter to remind them about my order. Once I mentioned it, they made it right away, but it was still disappointing. Overall, cute place and great aroma, but the sweetness level and service made the experience miss the mark for me.

The chai is delicious, but it's not dissimilar to what you get for free at an Indian food restaurant.

Most places douse their chai's with sugar to make up for the lack of flavor, and this place is anything but that.

All around pleasant experience in terms of both the service and coffee. I had the flight and…read morethought it was overall good. They explained that the flight includes an espresso shot, espresso shot with milk, hot coffee, and iced coffee. I hadn't had a straight espresso shot before, so this wasn't for me personally just because it was so overpowering. I enjoyed the other three though. Like the majority of SF, parking is difficult to locate. I was dropped off nearby the location. There is indoor and outdoor seating; I was able to grab an empty spot late in the morning on a weekend, but I don't think seating is always readily available. It's not a huge space.

At 11 am on a Sunday they were out of their best- black sesame Kouign Amann and the Raspberry Almond Croissant, which I took care of by paying a visit to Juniper bakery (sister business) later in the day. The Mocha with the house made nut milk fell flat. It needed something. I am not a fan of syrupy coffees and appreciate the more purist approach but this one just didn't do anything for me. The chai latte which I would never order was actually the best chai latte I have ever had, it was smooth like silk. Maybe I just had the wrong coffee order. Besides that, got the hot chocolate and the coffee tasting. I was surprised there was no explanation provided with the coffee- I figured it's all Honduran but an overview of some sort would have helped. I enjoyed all the coffees in there except the latte. Will visit again, earlier in the day so they are not out of their best sellers and try a different order.

Our group came around 1pm and was able to grab the last 3 sets. Our party of 6 was able to share the 3 sets and feel relatively full. There was a range of dishes, of the selection the tempura and the silky eat was quite delicious. We found the Napa to be a bit floral for our taste but a perfect palette cleanser. The staff were the sweetest and combined tables together to let our party sit together. They even put a candle in the matcha tart for my birthday!

You order before you get seated when you first walk in. Def gets busy after 12! We got the hojicha latte and strawberry latte. The hojicha was very nice and nutty. It came a little too unsweetened for my liking but they have sweetened out to adjust for your liking! I would def come back to get this! 8/10! The strawberry latte on the other hand was very overpoweringly flavored of the strawberry jam :(. I felt it tasted a bit artificial and didn't really let the matcha taste come through, I would stick to-the hojicha. 4.5/10 For food we got the fish sandwich and the pork katsu sandwich. The fish sandwich was decent, the cheese was cold but the fish was nice and flaky. I wish the fish skin was a bit more crunchy but I did like the slaw and sauce on it. 6.5/10 The pork one was soooo good and juicy. The crust was super crunchy and surrounded by the soft bread was such a nice texture. There was a sweet sauce which balanced the sandwhich nicely. Would get again! 8/10 We also saw the Japanese breakfast bento which looked realllly good and the salmon with matcha broth that others ordered and would def come back to try those! TLDR; would get the pork katsu sandwhich and hojicha. Would come back to try the bento and the salmon in matcha broth!!
