I had warning lights with my Ford Fusion Energi regarding the charging system. The dealership initially said they fixed it, but didn't actually solve anything. A second trip to the dealership and they said there was over $3000 in necessary work. Electron Automotive's analysis showed the dealership was doing more than necessary because they hadn't really identified the root cause. Electron Automotive did the necessary work for $1200. Electron=Great service and prices Left Toyota dealer service feeling like 2010 Prius was aging fast due to serious and expensive repairs ($4K) which would just get worse. Dealer said we should be looking at a replacement car based on age & problems. Called Joe at Electron- quickly scheduled appt. bringing repair list/quote from dealer service. Electron conducted their own comprehensive mechanical diagnostic with pictures and eliminated what had been unnecessary work suggested by dealer. It became clear that the car was in good condition, there were several upcoming needs and a serious issue (just one, brakes) which needed to be addressed quickly. Dealer had under-diagnosed the brake problem and over-diagnosed many other "non-problems." Electron's rates and repairs were much more affordable, clearly explained and well done. I left knowing my Prius was in better shape, is still reliable and had a long life ahead. Their passion for all things Prius is clear. Joe helped plan for a handful of normal replacement and repair precautions which will save us time and money. Wow- Electron is our new go-to for all Prius service, including oil changes. I cannot recommend Electron Automotive enough, especially for hybrid owners. When the Toyota service department told me that my 2010 Toyota Prius was essentially junk because of a defect in my engine, after years of faithful servicing my car with them, I had no recourse with Toyota and hated the thought of giving up my car. I needed to swap out my engine at 65k or sell my car at a huge loss. The guys at Electron Automotive did the job, saved me thousands of dollars and allowed me to keep my car running. I've needed a few more fixes since then but Chris has always been very honest, communicative, and the fixes were very fairly priced. These guys and ladies are beyond amazing! My first visit here my car was having some electrical issues, no lights, gauges, horn, nothing up front. I brought it to these guys going off of other yelp reviews and I was blown away by the great customer service they gave me and they fixed my car!!! Second time my car was overheating within 5 minutes of driving, I took it to a shop close to home and they couldn't figure out why it was overheating. It was a lot of guessing what part wasn't working so needless to say I learned my lesson and brought it to these guys. They kept my car diagnosed it and fixed it without changing anything that didn't need to be replaced!!! 2 months later my car starts to overheat again. I call this guys they tell me to bring it in turns out one of the thermostats they replaced failed. They fixed it under the warranty at no cost. I called Chris on a 2007 Prius that was having trouble going into gear and even staying running. In my mind I was already thinking I would be taking it to the dealer and be stuck with a $1500+ bill. I found these guys online and decided to give them a call. I arranged to have my Prius towed in and within 1 hour I got a call saying my car was all ready to go. They fixed it for less than $200 which was amazing. I will never be taking my hybrids to the dealer again without at least giving these guys a phone call and/or a chance to fix it for a fraction of the cost of anywhere else. Dealing with this shop has been the single most disappointing experience with an automotive repair shop I have ever had. They attempted to diagnose a problem with my car, gave the car back and asked that I drive it a specific amount time before bringing it back. I did what they asked, and the car died on me--not necessarily their fault--but I had the car towed back to them to diagnose. Where the problem starts is when you get a call from a "Service" person of some sort that clearly does not understand the issues with the car. They try to charge you an additional $150 for a "diagnosis" to a problem that you have already started working on. This is annoying and frustrating, and I did not appreciate the attitude of the service person, Jose. To top it off, they refused to work on my car because they felt "disrespected." Yet, they didn't feel badly at all that I spend my money and time to tow the car to them at their instruction. Without going into all the details, they have terrible customer service, they try to shuffle you through non-technical staff that are trained to charge upfront fees, and if you end up stuck in their system, they might just leave you high and dry without helping. If you're looking for good old fashioned service where "The Customer is always right." These are not the guys--they cost me money and time and couldn't solve my issue. I never go to the trouble to write reviews, but this has just been so unbelievably frustrating, I felt like I had to try to warn at least one person. Don't get caught up with this shop--just go somewhere else to start with. read more

I don't normally do reviews, I hate it when people say that, but I really don't. I guess that's why I forgot. I brought my car here back in January a long time ago! like I said I forgot. I spoke to Joe, the owner, here on yelp and he was helpful and kind. When I dropped my car off I was able to explain everything to him without feeling rushed and he listened intently without interrupting, making sure he got all the information correct. It was however just a blinker that would not stay "fixed". After going to my other mechanic over a half dozen times the frustration and annoyance was growing. I did not want to end up with a ticket or an accident. So thinking it might be an electrical problem (per my mechanic) I found Joe and Electron Automotive Services on Yelp. Joe was able to fix the problem, a simple pin, and did not charge me! Not even the diagnostic fee! Plus he was really nice and happy to be doing what he loves. I really do appreciate it and I was truly happy with the service. So much so that I will be contacting them to come back for another electric problem with the anti-lock breaking system. TL;DR - best service hands down. Chris stands behind his work and will make sure it's done right Only a couple months after my first review, my check engine light came on. Chris checked the codes and said it was my inverter coolant pump. He checked it and it was still the OEM pump. Mind you, I have 220k miles and it should've been replaced a while ago. I brought the car in and Chris replaced and fixed it. The next day the check engine light came back on again plus the red triangle. I texted Chris which he quickly responded back with directions on what I should do. The next day, he sent one of his technicians to pick up my car and let me drive his shop car in the meantime. He found that a part of the original pump valve broke off and got lodged in the coolant pipe which caused the flow to stop intermittently. He held on to my car for a couple more days just to make sure no more lights came on. All this with no extra charge! Try getting that level of service at a dealership or another shop. I'm sure you won't. I trust Chris and his crew with my cars. My Prius' run great and I highly recommend his services. read more

What a discovery this place is, especially for owners of hybrids. My daughter's Prius needed a new hybrid battery and the cost can be ridiculous, but Electron have a scheme for recovering cells from broken cars and then testing and classifying them so that they can offer a one, two, three or five year warranty for the different grades. The cost is very competitive for the battery and imagine my surprise when I discovered they would come to my house to fit it even though I was outside their normal coverage zone. The fitting was free and done extremely expertly by Tyler who answered all my (many) questions. Needless to say the car is now working perfectly with what appears to be a VERY healthy hybrid pack. The main dealer will sell you a "new" battery for over twice the price and only give you a one-year warranty. Tyler also told me that Electron can do pretty much any work on a car but have stacks of good engines, inverters and transmissions (for Prius especially) to get you back on the road. This will be my number 1 place for any future repairs to any of my 3 hybrids. I cannot thank them enough and my only recommendation is that they re-shoot the excellent, but shaky, sound-out-of-sync, video that Chris made for YouTube. It should be a major sales tool yet I only discovered it (and Electron itself) by accident. Do yourself a favor and discuss any car problems with them before you go to a dealer. read more

Chris is a great guy. Honest fast and very reasonable pricing. I am a contractor and the alternator on my van went out. I need this van to do my work and was in a hell of a predicament. He had it fixed that day and I had a working van the next day. I was so pleased with him that I came back for an oil change and some air conditioning repair. I asked him to check my breaks as well. He told me that the breaks were still good and did not need to be replaced (honesty). His cost for a fully synthetic oil change was below the chain oil change places. I have a 10 year old Toyota prius. Head lamp goes off while driving. So I have to turn it off and on. I called one Toyota dealer, he said wiring harness needs to be changed. I did not believe. I called another dealer, He said lamp needs to be changed. He quoted 1000s. I went to my regular mechanic. He said he cannot duplicate it. So he cannot do anything. I went to yelp. Looked around. I found this place. I called and spoke with owner/ technician, Chris Nosalek. He said, either it is bad bulb or bad ballast. He changed both the faulty head bulbs. He gave a thorough inspection of the vehicle and he explained it to me everything in a lay man's term.
