Baked in real old style pizza oven gives it a very good crust. I ordered a plain cheese. Crust was thin and very good. Sauce plain, not zesty. And not enough cheese on it. But it reheats great in the Air Fryer. I added additional sauce and Cheese. I fixed it to a 4 Star. read more

I heard through the grape vine that this was the best pizza in Knoxville. As someone who grew up in New England with ample choices for a top quality slice of New York pizza I was intrigued to say the least. Located north of the city toward Powell, this little shop is located in a strip center with Archers BBQ just off the exit. I ordered the usual (cheese slices) and waited for my order. Side note - if you can't make a delicious cheese slice and master the basics of pizza making then why would I worry about some of your special combinations? The pizza came out hot and fresh but the taste just wasn't there for me. For anyone who knows Barstool Sports and El Pres is was likely a 4.3 for his review. Literally called for 20 minutes straight trying to order a to go pizza for my family on way from work. Rang so long each time it auto-ended the call. I could understand it if they were busy but I walked in to find two tables and no one waiting for to go orders, with four employees standing around. Based on previous reviews I went to Elidios's. I wanted a single slice and now I wonder what pizza people had before going to Elidios's - I had the 5 topping pizza. 1) the pizza was cool, 2) the mushrooms, in addition to being canned, were cut up to stretch what was probably a single mushroom into several pieces, 4) there were 3 very thin pieces of Pepperoni, 5) the onion pieces were raw, 5) and 3-4 small lumps of flavorless sausage. My recommendation: on the way to Elidios's stop at the grocery store, buy a frozen pizza, take it home and cook it. It will be hot out of the oven and if you only want a slice, you can re-freeze the leftovers. If you want Pizzeria pizza, find somewhere else. read more

All I can say about this pizza is OMG. The bottom of the crust is light and crisp. The end of the crust is nice and chewy. The cheese covers the sauce, but the cheese-sauce equilibrium is held for every bite you take. They sell pizza by the slice, which is what every established NY pizza joint does, and the prices are very reasonable (about $2 per slice and a drink should run you no more than $1.75). From the mouth of a man born and bred in Queens, NY, this is a REAL pizza joint. But if you want even better, I'd try Dazzos in downtown Knoxville (hence why I'm bringing the stars down from 5 to 4). read more

Great place and great New York style pizza. This place used to be at East Town Mall back in the day and moved years ago and was replaced by a terrible pizza place called Sbarro. The only complaint is they are a little far from my house. Cheap prices and great pizza. The owner, his employees, and the place are very nice. I do not understand why people complain about how the pizza has grease on the top. It is supposed to, that is one of the trademarks of New York Style Pizza. I'm fighting with the urge to rate this place a 3 instead of a 4 because of a sin they committed with the Spinach Calzone I ordered where they used canned or frozen chopped spinach instead of fresh. The saving grace was the Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza which was terrific. read more

First I would like to say that this review is not about the taste or quality of the food. The pizza is great. I went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening around 7:30pm with a friend. The boy behind the counter told us that he was only taking orders for carry out because they closed at 8pm. So my friend and I were getting ready to leave and the boy behind the counter told us that we could go ahead and dine-in because they weren't very busy. So we ordered our food and found a seat. Our pizza was brought to us around 7:40pm. At 8pm I was still eating when another employee came to our table and told us that they were closing so we needed to leave. I had to take my last slice of pizza and drink to my car. I understand that they closed at 8pm, but if I knew that I would not be allowed to finish my meal, I would have went elsewhere. This was very bad customer service! Next time they should inform people that if they are still eating at the time of closing that they will need to leave. read more

Great little local mom and pop pizza joint. I've had their pizza, subs, and calzone and you just can't go wrong with any of it. The pizza is a thin, almost foldable type crust so I would recommend you keep the toppings to a minimum. Anything more then 3 or 4 toppings might be more then you want on this thin crust. They have a daily special of 2 slices of pepperoni pizza and a drink for $5 and the slices are a decent size. Their subs are probably one of the better values around. For around $5-$6 you get a very nice size sandwich on decent bread. Tastes great and very filling. If you're a light eater this is easily two meals. The dining area is reasonably clean and the place is generally doing some business but they keep things flowing so the wait is short regardless of what you order. Good food. Good prices. After 10+ years since I moved I came back to Knoxville and after reading some reviews on here I decided to try it. Little did I know it was the same pizza. Since "El Presidente" Dave Portnoy stopped in and gave them a solid One Bite rating of 7.5, this place has been understandably busy. As a semi-regular, I've known all along they have good, solid pizza, both by the slice and whole pies. The crust has a semi-crispy undercarriage and good chew on the edge. The ingredients are fresh and adequate. While I was there yesterday, they fielded a phone call from someone who complained they couldn't get thru to order, and my thought was, "do you not understand that's a good thing?" I mean, really, do you want to eat someplace that's never busy? If you want cookie cutter pizza that you can get at a moment's notice, go to one of the chains. I have only been here twice: once several years ago and yesterday. I remember them having amazing pizza, but yesterday I ate the worst calzone I have ever had the displeasure of ordering. I decided to try the Spinach Calzone. The crust was good, the mozzarella and ricotta were delicious. The problem was with the "spinach". I could swear they used canned collard greens, and not to mention, the greens themselves were extremely salty. I took one bite and was immediately disgusted. At least it was only $5.75. Favorite pizza place of all time! The crust is crispy on the bottom and soft on the inside. Sauce is always great and never too acidic. We always get the large pepperoni and are never disappointed. They also have spectacular bread sticks with the same crispy outside soft inside as the pizza. They also have great fried mozzarella sticks too - 6 mozzarella sticks (around $4) costs twice as much for the exact same at a local spaghetti joint. I'm on a quest in life to find the best pizzas around. I tried Elidio's by referral as a great place for NY style pie. I was STARVING when I ordered so I made a poor decision to order the cheese sticks as well. I was so disappointed. I thought I would be getting pizza dough with cheese and maybe some garlic on it. While my expectations were perhaps naive, I was not expecting sorta soggy, obviously frozen fried cheese sticks. The Pizza could have still won my heart, and a better review, but I thought it was boring and lack luster. The sauce was ok, but the cheese to sauce to toppings ratio was off. We had a large pizza with spinach and mushrooms. The crust was perfectly cooked. The pizza was just the right amount of chewy and crunchy. The flavor was a little bland. I've never seen a pizza with so little sauce. They used fresh spinach but the mushrooms were definitely canned. Definitely a more authentic big city northeastern pizza than the pizza chains. The place is busy with a lot of repeat, mostly takeout pizza business. Would definitely come back. It's not Brooklyn NYC but pretty damn good for Knoxville.
