I've gone to Elm Street Bakery twice now, brought my partner with me the second time and have told no less than 15 people that they need to stop in if they're in the area. I feel like I'm walking into a movie set when I come here. It's just so quaint and lovely. And in the fall, it's simply one of the best ways to spend a chilly morning. You'll have excellent food from the kitchen, items from the bakery, and coffee. They also serve alcohol and lunch items but I haven't tried them yet. Service is quick and friendly. Truly one of my new favorite places and well worth the 20 minute drive from Buffalo. Stay a while longer and stop at the other cute shops in East Aurora, including Second Nature right next door.

I love sitting outside the Elm Street Bakery on sunny days, and look at the dog walkers going past while enjoying a healthy lunch!

I finally got to this place where a friend had been buying me the best ever granola and shipping it to me. Well, I wasn't disappointed. The place was packed on a Saturday morning but it was friendly service, organized and the line moved swiftly. We Had breakfast sandwiches, coffee, sweet rolls and of course some granola to go! The only thing negative I can say about it was that Josh Allen didn't walk in to get his coffee!

This cute but spacious bakery is always packed but I totally get it! Don't be discouraged because the line moves fast! There is a parking lot but also plenty of street parking. There are also seats at the front and in the back so it's perfect for your little furry friends! When you first walk in, you're greeted by ALL of the delicious pastries and baked goods ranging from donuts, scones, cookies, bread, etc. My favorite is their current special which was the strawberry rhubarb scone. It was super flavorful but also moist and the outside crumbled nicely if you know what I mean. My favorite is the breakfast sandwich. It came with bacon, egg, arugula, cheese, and aioli. I cannot say enough great things a place. Give it a try!!!!

$7 for a 12" French batard, but what the hey. It's still hot from the oven. Cute rustic building, friendly staff, but there will be a wait. Wildly popular, parking is at a premium, so circle the block till you find a spot

The feel of this place is very hipster/granola/rustic. It has a great feel to it in my opinion. We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast around 9 and it was busy, but not overly packed. Plenty of room in the parking lot still with room on the street for parking too. My fiancé had the raspberry cheese danish and, according to him, it was the best danish he's ever had. He couldn't even speak after his first bite. I had a standard eggs and toast breakfast, which was just great too. Obviously it's nothing fancy, but jt hit the spot. The service is quick and there's plenty of room to sit. I don't live close by, but I think I'll make it a point to stop in whenever I'm around. I would definitely recommend others do the same!

On a Saturday afternoon, I stopped at Elm Street Bakery for a quick bite. When you walk in, you are greeted by a podium with menus and you order at the counter. Pretty much all the tables were full on the first floor. Since we were eating in, the cashier told us which table to sit at and gave us an order number. Food will be delivered to the table. There are two floors of seating. We sat at a table upstairs. The restaurant is very cozy and there are many regulars. We ordered a cappuccino and a macha latte which was prepared by the barista behind the counter where you ordered. The drinks were yummy. I loved the color of the cups. We had the Pear salad - mixed greens, Anjou pears, gorgozola, dried cranberries walnuts, red onion, honey walnut vinaigrette and the Margherita 6 inch pizza - tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil. The food was very delicious. It was filling, but not too heavy. After eating, you bus your own table. You will bring your dishes and garbage to the buckets for dishes and throw away your trash. We enjoyed the food so much that we stopped by the next day to pick up some bakery items before heading to the road. We sadly learned that crossaints are only made on Fridays and Saturdays. Instead we got a scone and a blueberry muffin. It was still very good!

My salad was extraordinary! Especially with the additional artichokes Id definitely recommend it!

Such an adorable place! They have expanded since I went there years ago. They have seating outside in the front and the back and inside and upstairs inside. You go to the counter and order your food and then they give you a number and bring you your order. I ordered a soup which was good. My companion ordered a club which he enjoyed. And we also enjoyed the mushroom pizza! It was very busy. There was still a place at the bar for us.

East Aurora's gem of a bakery/restaurant within a beautiful setting in the Village. Locals and tourists alike flock to eat their onsite created breads and baked goods for breakfast and lunch and then back for dinners created by a skilled staff of chefs. The outside tree covered dining area is like sitting in the small park no one knows about. A must go to place amongst many dining choices in the village

Is the outdoor seating pet-friendly? (small dog)

Yes, people do bring their well behaved dogs sometimes. There is even a water bowl for pets near the front door. Enjoy!

Is it worth the drive from Hamburg?

They roast their own coffee too- best coffee in the area, I think.

Again, I understand they're really busy and just trying to seat people but if you are wiping the tables it would help to sweep the floors too. With all of that aside I actually REALLY loved the pizza! Of course I order the top choices- Calabrian crunch and the cacio e Pepe. Both were absolutely amazing, full of flavor and delicious crisp of the crust. One of the best pizzas in the area, of this style (not traditional Buffalo). The chopped salad was also good and had a great dressing that definitely tasted like a good quality balsamic vinegar. I would highly recommend both for future guests! Staff are fantastic and really work hard to get everyone's orders taken and food out as quickly as possible!

Modernized yet still traditionally styled decor and pictures of the place throughout the years welcomed us in. Another door was a takeout that seemed pretty busy at 4pm on a Saturday. Plenty of parking in this quaint village as well as the parking lot. Warmly greeted and quickly seated with a reservation we made on Open table minutes before we each decided on the Feast with chicken parm, lasagna, and Fettuccini Alfredo. Large portions of each and the Alfredo was more like Cacio e Pepe so cheesy and flavorful. Lasagna was perfect blend or ricotta and sausage like I grew up with, and the chicken parm was tender and the batter held well seasoned flavors. The starters were the caesar salad perfect homemade dressing, and pasta fagioli a tad cool but so good I gobbled it up. Soft fluffy rolls are served with oil and seasoning to tide you over while you wait. Service was impeccable perfect time check for happiness with food, drink refills, and how we were doing as we slowed knowing to go containers would be needed. I highly recommend! I am only reviewing the Beef in Weck, a rare thin sliced roast beef sandwich on a kummelweck roll,…read morewhich has kosher salt and caraway seeds. The top half of the roll often has horseradish spread and it is dowsed with au jus or those are served on the side. The sandwich is local, originating in Buffalo but you can get them in Rochester too. The sandwich comes in three sizes, large, medium and sliders. Choosing the medium, the portion of roast beef was generous. So generous, in fact, that the roll was too small for the sandwich. It was served with au jus to the side and potato chips. The roast beef, allegedly freshly made, tasted clayish. Salt was the dominant flavor, hardly any caraway seed flavor. About half way into the sandwich, I wondered if there was any horsedsdish on the bun. Truly, it was hard to tell, but if there was, it was overwhelmed by the salt along with the caraway. Perhaps there was too much meat for the roll? Lazy caraway seeds? Not enough horseradish? Whatever, it was, at best, disappointing. Now I didn't try anything else and other diners seemed happy plus service was prompt and helpful, the setting friendly and pleasant, so I am reluctant to give two stars but that's actually a more accurate grade for the sandwich. Try the restaurant, but skip the Beef on Weck.
