This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I'll admit I came in a bit skeptical. Steakhouses attached to hotels or resorts don't always live up to their pricing, but this one exceeded my expectations. The interior has a cool speakeasy-style vibe. We were seated in the covered outdoor patio, which offered a nice view of the resort courtyard. We arrived right when they opened and were seated immediately. Our server, Nathan, was friendly, attentive, and had a great personality, which made the experience even better. The menu isn't huge, but it covers the essentials well. I ordered the filet mignon, and I asked for it to be cooked to medium. My only real complaint is that the entrees are served à la carte. I think a $75 steak should come with at least one side. That said, when the filet came out, it looked fantastic. It was cooked slightly over medium, but the flavor more than made up for it. I also ordered a twice-baked potato, which was excellent. Overall, I was genuinely impressed and would definitely come back again.

We had dinner reservations on Friday 7pm for our friend's 40th bday. We had a large group of 13 people. We were seated in the patio like area with netted wall covering. We got to try a bunch of different foods. Best items were the ribeye 16 oz (Juicy and tender), broccolini, loaded mac and cheese, and Hokkaido scallops. The worst items were the truffle fries (no truffle taste), Parker house rolls (hard bread), mushroom (too sour). We also ordered 2 bottles of the Faust Cabernet Sauvignon ($120 each). Our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything. We told them a bday. It was weird to ask and not give like complimentary dessert or something. Why even ask then? He opened and poured the wine for us twice.

Incredible food. I had a perfectly prepared prime ribeye with a twice baked duchess potato. You really can't go wrong here. The wine list is extensive and the prices are high. The prices are what I expected for a place of this caliber. Highly recommend.

I sat at the bar and the bartender was lovely. I also really enjoyed the beef tartare and the special which was a pate trio. The ambience was great and I definitely will be returning.

WOW. Just WOW. My husband and I came to Ember Steak to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary, and it truly made our night feel so special. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt intimate, romantic, and elegant! exactly the kind of place you want for a special celebration or date night. Our server Anthony was absolutely amazing. The service was warm, attentive, and genuine the entire evening. He made us feel so welcomed and taken care of, and he really helped make our anniversary dinner unforgettable. Now let's talk about the food... because WOW. Everything was delicious. We had the steak salmon dish and the half chicken, and every bite was incredible. the salmon was flavorful and fresh, and the half chicken was juicy and so well seasoned. You can really taste the quality. For cocktails, I had the pear drink and OMG... to die for. So refreshing and perfectly balanced. And of course we couldn't leave without dessert. We had the strawberry cheesecake, and it was the perfect sweet ending to such a beautiful dinner. Everything about this restaurant, from the ambiance, to the amazing food, to Anthony's incredible service! was just WOW. It made our anniversary feel extra special and memorable. We will absolutely be coming back and recommending Ember Steak to everyone.

My wife and I agreed, our meal at Embers was outstanding. Calm, relaxed ambiance, attentive wait staff, that knew their dishes. We will be back. She had the lobster and I the bisque and beet salad. We shared a shitake. All was spot on.

Took my family here for dinner while staying at The Meritage Resort, and we had an amazing experience from start to finish. We started with the lobster bisque and Parker rolls -- honestly, it might have been the best lobster bisque I've ever had. The rolls were served hot, soft, and absolutely delicious. For entrées, my girlfriend had the roasted salmon steak, and I went with the ribeye with ember bone marrow. She loved her salmon, and my ribeye was perfectly cooked -- rich, flavorful, and beautifully complemented by the bone marrow. We shared a few sides: the twice-baked duchess potato, loaded mac and cheese, and maitake mushrooms. The twice-baked potato was incredible -- probably my favorite thing of the night. The mac and cheese was rich and comforting, while the mushrooms weren't really my thing, but still well-prepared. Service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and on point without ever feeling intrusive. Overall, Ember Steakhouse delivered a top-notch meal and experience. Highly recommend if you're staying at the resort or just looking for a great dinner in the area!

Lovely food and very good service. The portions are extremely generous, which as a visitor to the areas does us no good. Considering the level of tourism and that this restaurant is at a resort, you'd think most patrons are not local and would appreciate limited waste with smaller portion sizes as an option. I opted for the special, the lamb, because it was only 8 oz of meat and everything else was more food. I even asked if there was a smaller beef filet option, which there was not. Even if the price is that much lower, I'd still have wanted a 5 oz piece of protein. My husband got the roasted half chicken and perhaps ate a third of it. It was excellent also but again, just too much food and waste. We shared the truffle fries, which were awesome but when they arrived to us were cold. They were still crunchy and appropriately cooked so I did not say anything, especially as we already had plenty and I didn't want more waste. The dessert, Bananas Foster Reimagined, was really fantastic. A highlight. I also ordered a Walnut Old Fashioned. It was just ok. I love Old Fashions and order them most places I go. This one was just ok, maybe it was watered down? The craft ice cube was great but the flavor of the drink just wasn't there. Would I come back? Not sure. There were some really nice things about this place but it is $$$$ and not sure it is worth the price.

Enjoyed our dinner! Great date night spot note: we did not order steak so not reviewing this Five stars for the service because Maya is truly enthusiastic about food and wine ( not a faker) from the heart Four stars for the food because we came for the chef we read about prior to the visit (the chef who hails from Hawaii specializing in seafood and Sushi not just steak... and is no longer on site though he did create the menu and train the kitchen ) We were told chef missed his knife and was not sure what was next though He had been working as a consultant for Meritage and many resorts Maya our waitress is tops! Knowledgeable about the wine, cocktails and food selections. We enjoyed - Hamachi fish collar entree, 10 oz -Duck entree - Ember sushi . sides: -maitaki mushrooms -100 layer potato with creme mousse and fire torched by server tableside We could not finish our meals...so generous portions compared to many napa fine dining spots Memorable? The lavendar lychee martini The sushi The ambiance is romantic for date night the service Next time we will be back for the Blue Note summer stage line up .. We can wine, and have cocktails and some tapas and watch an outdoor concert from their covered temp controlled patio.

Our group had a really nice dinner here. The drinks were tasty. The steak absolutely delicious. We ordered a variety of sides for the table. The chocolate lava cake dessert yummy too. Nathan was our server and stuff an excellent job. If ever in the area, I would return.

Unfortunately, I am writing this constructive review in hopes of helping restaurant management and the executive chef understand that food and ambiance together create a complete dining experience. We dined at Embers this past Friday for the first time. While the food was excellent, the ambient lighting significantly detracted from the evening. The restaurant was excessively bright--more reminiscent of a kitchen or living room with all the lights fully on than a refined steakhouse atmosphere. It was so uncomfortable that I asked the restaurant manager if the lighting could be dimmed. He asked where I was seated and suggested dimming only my table, which would not have addressed the issue. The entire restaurant was overwhelmingly bright. Unfortunately, the lighting was not adjusted, or could not be adjusted, which ultimately ruined the ambiance. It did not feel like a true steakhouse experience, especially considering that many guests were dressed for an upscale evening out. After spending approximately $660 for four people, I strongly recommend that this issue be addressed. The food was outstanding, and our server was exceptional. However, the overall ambiance felt cold and somewhat tacky, which diminished what could have been an excellent dining experience. If Embers aims to compete with other high-end steakhouses in Napa, this detail should be addressed immediately.

Ember Steak was a very nice, quaint, and cozy dining experience. From the moment the hubs and I stepped foot into the restaurant, the service was amazing. After being seated for a short time, our waitress (who was amazing) came right over, introduced herself, explained some things and took our drink orders; it was textbook. Ambiance was cute, classy, romantic, and timeless. A great place for an intimate tuck away if you're out of town or desire some privacy. The ambiance lighting was great for pics and selfies, if you're a picture taker like me. To the best part-- food: amazing! The Caesar salad with beef was different, light, and refreshing. The tomahawk steak and bone in ribeye were cooked and seasoned to perfection. And let's not forget about the mashed potatoes, so good! Loved the wine and champagne also, it was great. So, if everything was great, why give them 4 stars instead of 5? Glad you asked: the dessert menu was super disappointing. There were only three options and none of them interested me. The molten chocolate lava cake deal is boring, everyone does that, and I'm not a chocolate fan (I know, right.). There was also a passion fruit sorbet, but didn't want that-- it was cold and it's right in the middle of winter. Lastly, there was another dessert that didn't do it either. Where is a classic hot chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream or the apple tart/crisp with a scoop of vanilla bean? There was nothing like that on the menu and it was disappointing considering I had babysat my calories all day because I knew that I wanted dessert after dinner. That was a bummer, but we can't all bat a thousand-- I'll have dessert somewhere else. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a great place to dine, check them out!

Service from the host, servers, and bussers went above and beyond. Honestly, couldn't remember what was ordered, but we ordered more than enough. Every dish was delicious and the wagyu and fish quality was great. The drinks were also strong but delicious. I believe I order the Love Spell twice. The price reflects the location, crowd and quality so we weren't too shocked at the bill. Will definitely be back!

As such, it was extremely noisy and you could see that couples on dates had a hard time even talking to one another, and eventually just stopped. I could barely hear my wife talking next to me. Most of the servers would even have to lean in to hear the orders. As for the food, nothing really stood out. We ordered a large variety as we were a group of 10 eating family style and nothing really stood out. The quality of the food I would say was akin to fast food or mall food court level, but you're paying 3 times as much. The price belied the food quality. For example, 3 small pieces of ribs as an appetizer for more than $30, I'd expect it to be uniquely spiced, flavorful and juicy, but it was rather dry and tasted as like sauce from Panda Express. Their Wagyu beef carpaccio had too many strong flavors so the taste of the beef itself was lost. Heck, it didn't even really have the notable creamy-like texture that wagyu was supposed to have either (likely a lower grade of wagyu, probably somewhere between USDA Choice and Prime). A lot of their items feel gimmicky too: the unagi clay pot came with some seaweed, a seaweed holder, and two small bottles of sauces. The sauces were bland and contributed nothing to the dish. Making your own "hand rolls" with the seaweed did nothing for this dish other than get your hands dirty. I've watched enough Iron Chef back in the day to understand that this is very Morimoto, as he tries to make the dishes fun. The unagi itself was quite nice, though it might be my personal bias. The Halibut we got was overcooked and dry. Yes halibut is a firmer meat, but man this was hard to eat. The best dish was likely the Ishiyaki Buri Bop, which came with some tables idea theatrics. Nevertheless, for the price, you could do much better at a place like Kunjip Tofu in the bay. Overall, a bad experience. Based on the price point, I thought we'd be getting better food and better ambience, but it was overall mediocre - a blemish on the Morimoto name.

We stayed at Andaz Napa for one night before Christmas to celebrate our Anniversary, and we booked Kenzo Napa for the dinner and it was walkable distance from the hotel. Kenzo Napa was established by Kenzo Tsujimoto in 2016, and received Michelin 1 star in 2018, and every year ever since. The price for Kaiseki is $295 per person, and my husband ordered the Omakase Pairing $197 and I got a bottle of Aoki Shuzo, "Yuki Otoko" Junmai, Niigata $40 to pair with the set. 2021 Suzu First glass of the omakase pairing is the sparking rose. This is made with 54% Malbec, 37% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc, with the smell of strawberry and blood orange. Cauliflower Chawanmushi The first dish is chawanmushi, with ginger, snow crab, etc. 2024 asatsuyu The second glass of the omakase pairing was the Sauvignon Blanc. The name is from Japanese meaning morning dew. Seasonal Hassun The second dish is the seasonal hassun, which is the traditional Japanese appetizer. Five different small dishes including the lotus root dumpling with bottarga, ehime bluefin tuna, shiso leaves rolled angel shrimp, Japanese yam with Italian caviar, and Hokkaido scallop with persimmon with peanuts. Sawahime Yamahai Junmai Third glass of the omakase pairing is the Junmai with the aromas of gardenia, ripe kiwi, papaya, green peppercorn, aged comte cheese. Yamaguchi Tilefish Owan This one is our favorite dish of the day! Very fresh and refreshing, with fish and vegetable and mushroom. Midorikawa Daiginjo The fourth glass of the pairing has a great hint of spice but elegant at the same time. Oita Sea Bream Sashimi The fourth dishes is the sashimi, paired with ponzu sesame shoyu. 2023 yui Rosé This Rosé was made with 65% Malbec, 26% Merlot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. Paired greatly with the next course. Simmered Mie Toro Sawara Mackerel Love the texture of the mackerel. 2021 Asuka Asuka was made with 83% Cabernet Franc, 11.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot. Got 93 points on Wine Enthusiast. The wine has great berry aroma and spices. A5 Wagyu Tenderloin Jibuni The seventh course is the A5 wagyu beef steak. Cut into bite sizes, with mushrooms and veggies. Daishichi Minowamon This sake has a strong smell of berry, banana, and pear. Velvety and buttery. Hokkaido Sea Urchin, Ikura and Mediterranean Bluefin Tuna Sushi Bowl served with red miso soup One of my favorite Japanese seafood bowl! Chef's Featured Desserts Three different desserts was great too. It has a goji berry panna cotta and fried spring roll with vanilla ice cream, and also a berry ice cream with caramelized walnut. And on the side there was a warm green tea, making a sweet and perfect ending.

We had just started our second glasses of wine when I didn't set my glass down right (distracted by drag bingo) and it shattered, spilling everywhere including onto the oyster display case. I was mortified and started apologizing immediately, but the staff was not having it. The shucker looked furious and was angrily resetting the ice. The server wouldn't say a word or make eye contact, even while I was still apologizing. I felt so uncomfortable I stepped away to collect myself. While I was gone, the manager came over ostensibly to "see if everything was OK" and proceeded to lecture my friend about the safety issue of broken glass. My friend, also a restaurant professional, noted how icy and frankly hostile the service had become after a pretty common accident. The manager got defensive. When she suggested a courtesy splash would be appropriate, he said "we'll see when she gets back." When I returned, nothing had changed. No one checked in. There was still wine on the metal rim of the display case, which pretty much undercuts the safety and sanitation concern they kept citing. We decided to leave. The manager comped my unfinished glass with great fanfare, as though he were doing us an enormous favor, then launched into another safety lecture. My friend still had most of her wine, but we just wanted to go. Delicious food, amateur service. Not worth $225, and sadly won't be returning.
