12 in Build Your Own Deep Dish Pizza

What a swanky kind of place. We got lucky and got placed in the 2 seater near the open window. Felt like sitting at a cafe in Europe. I love how the menu isn't massive: they got dogs, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and some salads. My husband and I split a Caesar salad, a hot dog, and a deep dish. Note: the menu says 10, 12, and 14 in for the pizza but they told us they no longer do 10in. The Caesar salad was incredible: homemade croutons that have a soft crunch (if you know you know) and PLENTY of grated parm. The hot dog was also excellent! Didn't think a hot dog could blow me away. The bun was poppy seeded and super soft (maybe steamed). And then the star of the show: the deep dish pizza in NYC. It does take like 30 mins, so make sure to get an appetizer. So worth it. Loveddd the crust. A seriously delicious pie. This place felt special - the vibes were good. Great music playlist also.

I've had Chicago deep dish pizza twice before: one at the gold standard Lou Malnati's and once in the O'Hare food court. My experience at Emmett's fell somewhere in between those two precedents. Like others I suspect, we grabbed two bar seats here after the wait at Raku was too long. The homemade potato chips we ordered during the 30 minute wait for the pizza were excellent. I would definitely come back to have these again with a beer. As for the pizza, the structural integrity post-cut left something to be desired, but the flavors of the slightly sweet sauce were very good. We ordered with fresh garlic as a topping, which might have been a mistake, as the odor was a bit too strong.

Was able to get a spot for 2 at the bar on a Friday night without a reservation by showing up at 6:30! (I would highly recommend getting a reservation if you can though!) Pizza was fantastic , we just got a pepperoni pie, but then got hot honey and some of the paprika ranch to dip it in and it was fantastic. Love the little pizza timer they bring out to make sure that the pizza is a perfect level of doneness! They no longer have outdoor seating so the seats are pretty limited, but it's a super cute restaurant, perfect for a date night, and also a great spot to bring someone from out of town for a classic NYC pizza experience!

I think this is the only spot in NYC for authentic Chicago Deep Dish. The pizza was solid. I was also so pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the Greek salad was. The service was quick. The deep dish takes 30 minutes to bake, which we were told upon ordering. It came out at almost 30 mins on the dot. So that was pretty awesome. The space itself is a bit tight but, I think they do the best they can with the space they have. It's always full because the food speaks for itself!

The pizza was great. The fries were great and the atmosphere was great! Inside felt well lived in and cozy, the perfect atmosphere for eating such good pizza. The staff was friendly acknowledge and even though they were very busy, they were very attentive. The prices are reasonable, the service is exceptional, And if you are a match book collector like Me, they have really cute ones!

Terrific Chicago style deep dish pizza. Had not had deep dish pizza in NYC since Uno Pizzeria closed so wanted to give Emmett's a try. Started with an Arugula Salad and a Chicago Style Hot Dog but it was the deep dish pizza that was the star. Had one with pepperoni, pineapple and extra cheese and one with sausage and caramelized onions - both were excellent. Very small but lively restaurant with not a lot of tables. Can feel a little cramped when crowded but the pizza makes it worthwhile.

I can't speak to the service because I had this pizza delivered, but when I've passed by before, this looked like a lively after-work hangout spot. The cheese pull on the deep dish pizza is never-ending. I wish that the tomato sauce was spread more evenly around the pizza, but I found that the sauce slips off anyway as you grab a slice. While this might not be the most convenient pizza to eat, chances are this deep dish pizza will satisfy your deep dish cravings! The crust is toasted perfectly golden and isn't hard. The bread under the sauce and cheese is soft and fluffy.

If you are a New Yorker who is craving deep dish, Chicago-style pizza, look no further! I grabbed takeout, but the interior was exposed brick walls, tons of people at the bar, and super cozy. My order was on time and perfect. I'll be back!

Pizza arrived raw. Had to throw it out. This is so gross and disappointing. I will never eat here again.

Let's talk about this vibes that come from here it's all chill, easy to enjoy an afternoon of deep dish pizza. The sausage classic.! It's just pure goodness. Start off with mozzarella sticks. Service is amazing. It's quick you get time to relax and just chill and totally love it.

We got patio seating outside and it was pretty warm with the heaters. I decided to try their Deep Dish Pizzas since I missed out my chance on trying it in Chicago. It was pretty good but this was definitely a heavy pizza. This Buds For You ($29) - lots of veggies (contains spinach, mushrooms and onions). Well flavored however I still preferred the Meat Lover more. It was more cheesy and I just like meat better. 3 STARS Meat Lover ($33) - lots of meat. Pepperoni, sausage, Italian beef. Very cheesy. I would order this again. 4 STARS. One pie is more than enough for 2 people. We had to packed the rest of the pizzas to go since we couldn't finish it. Service was good. We got water and take out box/bags when requested.

My family and I went here for some deep dish pizza and wow it did not disappoint !!! Soo delicious. The pizza sauce tastes home made. Meat was cooked fresh. My husband and I had a spritzer as well !! We ate in an outdoor area. This wasn't as wonderful. The smell of the city street was still apparent and the loud noises on the street. Also the tables were close together. The service was sub par. We were a party of five and they only gave us 4 plates. My husband had to go find another serving plate. To place the order after waiting ten minutes, my husband had to seek out a server at the front. The bill also took an exceptional amount of time to come out. But besides the service and ambiance , food truly was second to none. Order to go.

This place hit the spot on a cold day. Needed something hearty. Ordered a thin crust and a deep dish as well an Italian beef sandwich Thin Crust - Hot Papi. I didn't think it was too thin. Still was able to chew on something rather than a cracker 4/5 Deep dish - Cheese Louise. For a deep dish this is perfect amount of cheese sauce and dough 4/5. Italian beef sandwich. Good with a beer 4/5 Besides the food I really like the chill vibe

It was oddly a Sunday and we were actually walking a few blocks to meet others for dinner, but I came across this place and couldn't help but stop for a slice...as a snack! And I'm glad I did! it restored my faith in NY pizza, reminded me that NY pizza could never taste like any normal NY pizza even if they said it was NY pizza, but this was definitely NY PIZZA! We got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of Margherita and it just melted in my mouth. The flavors, the perfection of the thin crust, the seasoning -- I wish I lived much closer! We also got garlic knots which were awesome also! I enjoyed the sitting at the counter experience and having an ice cold coke with my slice. It was the best snack before my next dinner meal and I cannot complain at all! This is definitely one of my favorite pizza places in NY!

The slices were huge, thin, and had that signature foldable crust with a great balance of crispness and chew. The Pepperoni was one of my favorites. It came loaded with generous amounts of pepperoni, and the thin crust let all the flavors shine without feeling too heavy. Simple, classic, and really satisfying. The standout, though, was the Meat Lovers. I'm usually not the biggest fan of combination pizzas, but this one completely changed my mind. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the generous toppings were well-balanced without overwhelming the crust. It was easily the highlight of the meal. The Plain Cheese was the weakest of the three not because it was bad, but because it was exactly what you'd expect from a classic cheese slice. It had a nice cheesy flavor and solid texture, just nothing particularly memorable compared to the other two. Service was impressively fast despite the long line, and the Spider-Man-themed décor gave the restaurant a fun, unique New York vibe. Overall, I really enjoyed the pizza and can confidently say it lived up to the New York-style reputation. If I had to compare it to Pizza My Heart, I'd give this place a slight edge.

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. To start with the good: the arancini were perfectly passable, and the Sicilian pie was enjoyed by all. I would describe it as more of a Detroit style actually, with a super crispy crust and nice textural contrast. On the other hand, we did not enjoy the seasonal vegetable pie or the nepo pie. I generally really like this sort of no-cheese, umami-heavy pizza, but the nepo was so salty! I'm not sure what specific ingredient was missing, but missing it was. My hopes for a recreation of the rossa pie I enjoyed at Farina prior to their closure were dashed. As for the vegetable pie, the vegetables tasted like the frozen veggies one might find in what was once marketed as a "TV dinner". It was a shame, since the sauce of the white pie was otherwise pretty good.

Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
