The lavender mint lemonade was one of the best drinks I've had in a while. For our meals he had the BLTA with fries and I had the avocado and lime salad with tri tip steak. Absolutely stellar food, quality ingredients and great flavors. We had leftovers for sure, lol, something to eat on the drive back to DFW the next day. For dinner, we sat outside and had Jess as our server. She was also really nice, she had quite a few tables and still managed to give us plenty of attention. We had carnitas nachos and the ground beef soup. The carnitas nachos are... unnecessarily large. lol Luckily the soup bowl was very small so I was able to help the boyfriend with some nachos. But my small effort was not enough and he tapped out of the nachos at the halfway mark. Highly recommend the nachos if you have four friends with you. =D This was a great restaurant with a lovely outdoor space. If we lived in Fredericksburg, I could easily see us making this a monthly hang out on Friday nights. If you have the chance, make sure to get in with Kristen or Jess, you won't be disappointed.

One thing that makes this restaurant unique is that there are actually cabins situated directly across from the restaurant that you can rent out and stay in known as the Cotton Gin Village. We were seated in one of the upstairs dining rooms with lots of wine on display. One draw about this place is their incredible selection of Texas wines. They also feature some Texas beers and great signature cocktails, even wine flights. We started with Ron YatesCabernet and a martini. They do offer several of the Texas wines by the glass, nothing from CA. There's only a choice of 10 entrées on the menu and 8 appetizers all of which are enticing. They do give you a sample of their carrot soup, but no complementary bread. I decided on the chicken fried ribeye and paired it with the Reddy cab. My wife had the grilled pork tenderloin medallions. The chicken fried ribeye was very tender with plenty of lobster chunks on top and no gristle whatsoever. The pork medallions were equally as delicious and the 3 cheese grits were a perfect pairing. We cleaned our plates and had no room for dessert. We enjoyed every bite and Kyle our waiter was exceptional as our server. We look forward to returning and trying something new off the menu. The lamb chops were the crown jewel of the night - rich and succulent and paired so well with the asparagus. The chef was kind enough to make another lamb chop for us as she saw how the meat shrunk while cooking it. The meal was so tasty and a good size for sharing! We were very full by the end. I'm so glad we tried this place! It would be perfect for date night, a meeting with coworkers or family dinner. I like that they have an intimate inside area as well as the outdoor patio. One of us had the schnitzel au gratin, which seemed more to be like a chicken Parmesan. I had the duck schnitzel. I would say they were just both OK. The fried potatoes that came with the au gratin schnitzel were left largely untouched on my companion's plate. There wasn't much flavor to my red cabbage, and my spaetzel seemed to be more like a modern day risotto. And this at a restaurant that makes you leave your credit card for a reservation and threatens to charge if you cancel less than 24 hours before. For that, it had better knock my socks off. But my socks are still on, and they won't be walking back to Otto's. Extra star for the great location.

The bar was well stocked, and the beer was cold. They had plenty of patio seating, and they host live music. The bar area and the bathrooms are in need of some TLC. Parking on Main Street can be a challenge. I went the next day to have a burger and onion rings, but they were out of onion rings. I settled for seasoned fries, which were ok.
