Seriously a roller coaster experience last evening. Had dinner with friends at Epic Oyster. I had an incredible set of oysters, sampled the greek salad, and had the burger with linguica. Was pretty darn good I have to say. Honestly one of the best burgers I have had in quite some time. Cocktail experience was not so perfect...but that certainly can be a simple opinion...but not really enough to complain about. I did get exactly what I asked for for my cocktail but was just a bit off. The wait staff was excellent, They were very helpful and responsive. Knew the menu and had great recommendations, etc. Here is the roller coaster part...throughout the dinner a gas heater kept going out. We were seated outside and it was a bit chilly. the heater served as light ambiance as well as a local heat source. The gas heater next to our table kept extinguishing itself. We asked for it to be relit when it would go out. It would then be relit quickly by the staff but then go out again in about a minute or so. Obviously something wrong with it...no biggie. I guess we asked one too many times to have it relit. This is where the overall experience gets really poor. I guess it was the owner came to the table. In an incredibly aggressive manner. Asked who was harassing his staff. Started swearing at us. Dropping F-bombs on us. I thought he was joking because he knew one of the guests at our table. I only realized he was not joking when he threatened another one of the guests at our table. Then he walked away after the real physical threat. When he was about three tables away from us he turned back and told us to get the F$#k out of his restaurant. I'm absolutely dumbfounded by this incident. I am told by quite a few others this explosive behavior is not uncommon here. All of us got up and left...except for the fella who did know the owner stayed and paid the bill. So unfortunate because the food and other people around us was quite pleasant. Epic food but a total Epic nightmare. read more

Was dying to try this new place. Went to grab dinner there the other night with a few friends but due to us getting there too late we were unable to be sat. The owner came and introduce himself to us and explained we had missed the kitchen cut off, handed us a menu and said "I hope you come back and try us". Very nice guy, we told him we most definitely would come back. Two nights later we go back around 7pm. Hostest told us we wouldn't be able to get a table to 9. We did not feel we were being welcomed when we walked in. She then offered us a couple of bar seats, which we took. We had a bartender named Tracy. During our visit we got asked twice to move down a seat to accommodate for the baretenders friends who were coming to the bar. My friends and I order 1 of every oyster, chowder and then a main plate for all of us. The people next to us order 1 of every oyster and chowder as well about 20 mins after us. Oyster and 2 chowders came out but did not go to us, they went to the bartenders friends. This really bothered me, especially being a general manager of a restaurant - service is everything! Finally our food came out, all but 1 thing. Finally we asked where our last item was after we were finished with everything else. We were very upset with the service we received during our visit. Being how small the space and seating it, I don't think bartenders should be allowed to save seats for their friends and then ask customers in the middle of their meals to move down seats. Summary- this food was amazing, but there is no way I could give this 5 stars because not having good service was really disappointing considering how great the food was. I think we just got the wrong server on this night. I do plan on coming back to sit in the dining room and see if service is better there. Great food - I definitely recommend trying this place. Such an Overall Poor Experience Went off the beaten path and found this little "diner" in Falmouth. As the name suggests we'd be expecting some very good oysters. Four of us were expecting cocktails and epic oysters. Neither the cocktails nor the oysters were up to par. Drinks were served in plastic cups and were more ice than anything. More than half of the oysters we ordered were rancid. We did point this out to the server. The server apologized but then the cook came out and rudely explained that we were "clueless" and didn't know what oysters were supposed to smell and taste like. The cook was actually a bit threatening to us. He literally growled at us and told us not to come back. We know our oysters BTW and we know what good oysters taste like. The oysters seemed like they sat out in the Sun for half a day before served to us. Overall way too expensive for what you get. Poor service poor presentation and poor quality. I would not recommend this restaurant...such a poor experience. read more

Epic IS the pearl in the oyster! Ambiance/decor is funky and fun (Dire Straits for tunes -what's not to love). Service a 10 - Lisa took great care of us with her warmth, knowledge, and timing! The food - ahhh. Oysters - skip the West Coast and even down Cape/off Cape. Falmouth is blessed with the best of the best - Bourne Pond and West Falmouth - Sippewissett if they are ever on menu -rule!!! Plump, bright, briny,sweet..... home grown in the cleanest waters! We also loved the bacalhau - cod cakes - very creamy on the inside, delicate and crisp on the outside, the feijoa assado -Portuguese baked beans, Portuguese grilled corn bread and the Azorean Fisherman's Stew. Tried Epic Oyster two weeks ago for the first time. They have a nice selection of oysters and seafood dinners. The restaurant is tiny so unless you eat at the bar you're on top of other diners and waitstaff. We chose a seat at the bar. Greeted nicely and then listened to a long list of everything they were out of. Bottom line, food was good but pricey. I don't mind spending some bucks on a great meal, but I could spend the same amount and enjoy the fabulous views and ambiance of the Chatham Bars Inn. Not worth it. Small portions and a general attitude of "you get what you get." Finally, the chef who I think may also be the owner seems like an angry person. Witnessed some interactions he was having with staff and it wasn't nice. No thank you. read more

Abandon all hope ye who enter here! The manic chef owner chased my husband and me out on the sidewalk in front of his restaurant. He seemed high. He threatened to put us in the hospital because I told the hostess I thought she was rude to my cousin, one of the restaurant's frequent guests who lives in the neighborhood. I have pressed charges now that another male Yelp reviewer has come forward to me that he WAS PUT IN THE HOSPITAL by the owner after a restaurant issue and his police buddy covered for him. I feel embarrassed for him to even write down the other crazed things he said he'd have his local, on-duty Falmouth police buddy do to us. Avoid this place at all costs. When I think of the scum of the earth, one thing in specific comes to mind, Marc Warner, the wretched owner of Epic Oyster. While the food and servers at the restaurant are sensational, the place (and it's owner) is home to a multitude of problems. First of all, there are rats roaming the dining area, which was disgusting. I also overheard that scumbag owner threatening to hit one of his employees over the head with a glass rack. I even saw him spray a very intoxicated customer in the eye with sanitizer then proceed to knock him out. While the food may be good, the antics that go on here are unacceptable. DO NOT EVER COME HERE unless you want an unforgettably awful experience with this disgusting human being. read more

We heard great things about this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. We started out with clams casino, fried oysters, bang bang shrimp, and wonderful oysters on the half shell with a lovely soft cheese and kale. Everything was beautifully presented and it was GOOD! The wine list was extensive so I asked the waitress to suggest one that would compliment our meal 's. All four dinner's were works of art and delicious in every aspect, texture, taste, and sauce. So dinner was plate licking good, but, then the waitress brought a surprise to our table...homemade cookies! What a way to end the evening! Yep! We will be going again soon. Stay away from this place at all costs the owner is psychotic. My wife and I went there for dinner and found it closed. We saw someone inside walking around and knocked on the door to see if we were to early. A man who we found out later from the Falmouth police was the owner came out and threatened to f..ck us up because we knocked on the door. After a verbal altercation with the owner we called the Falmouth police who came and interviewed us. We were told that we had the right to press charges but felt it was a waste of time. This owner is connected. Stay away from this place take your business elsewhere read more

Really good food - exceptional oysters and the rice bowls are beautifully presented and tasty. We ate there in late July on a Tuesday. We suffered an incredibly long wait for (reserved) table and for food once order was placed. The staff made no apologies for the VERY lengthy delay. They've got some kinks to work out, hopefully they will because the food is great. read more

Few times have I left a restaurant having enjoyed my meal to this extent. Food is legit, drinks are on point and there are no fresher oysters to be had. Not to mention the staff is so friendly, in fact Tony the oyster shucker is amazing! I Will be returning without a doubt every chance I get. read more

Best place to get oysters in Falmouth! Fresh delicious and outstanding service. Service was great at the bar. Recommend for a date night.

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation.Fantastic service backed by delicious food. We will be back!
