25 years ago Eros cafe was our place to be every other night. Sadly the place burnt down and even though I still lived a few blocks away from the new location I never felt visiting again! We went back tonight after my husband has been insisting for a while and what I can I say! I regret I took that long to give it a try! The atmosphere was electric, the service unmatched, the food as delicious as it was 25 years ago and prob more elevated and the addition of the bar this place is a GEM. Came here to watch the World Cup and enjoy hookah and drinks with some friends. They have a great screen set up for everyone to enjoy watching inside and outside. They have many flavors to choose from for the hookah set up and even milk or red bull base as well as lollipop tips! Only downside was that the service was taking forever just for drinks and the hookah set up. We had waited at least 20 minutes before receiving it after having to ask again. On top of that it's auto 20% tip for slow service. It started raining outside and we had to relocate inside and they had told us they would bring our hookah in for us but never did. I have yet to try the food but everything that was being brought out to other tables smelled great. Would be open to go back for brunch or dinner and hopefully have better service. Place is great w/ great food, unfortunately due to incredibly long waits -hour long for 2 sandwiches - and a nice but clueless staff (we had about five different servers and it still took almost two hours to eat dinner) not to mention incessantly loud rave music so loud you can't hear the person across from you - and the ridiculously loud train whistles every five minutes, you'll come home with a nice case of PTSD. read more

I've been there twice now and both times the service was terrible. Took 25 minutes for someone to come to our table. After we requested water it took another 15 minutes.. mind you it was very hot. After saying something to the waitress it took 1hour and 30mins for our basic breakfast foods. Not once did the waitress check on us. We had to go inside to ask for the check. My girlfriend and i went for a drink and some appetizer and the waiter only came once in the beginning and at the end. I had to ask other waiters for our food and drinks. Then i ended up having to go to the front to pay because our waiter never cared to come back for the check. He served the table next to us a couple times and never checked in at all I also went today when my family. Yes i know it was Father's Day but when we got there for noon the place was empty and it took us a half hour to get a waiter then another hour to get our food and we ordered pretty simple stuff like eggs, pancakes fries and waffles. Stopped in one night just for drinks. We sat at the high top tables in the bar. It was a Saturday night, but service took quite some time. The bartender, who was also the server, was very nice. It seemed the dining room was busy and holding up the bar, but we still enjoyed our time there & since their attitude was pleasant, we did not mind the wait as much. Eros Cafe has been our very first Greek cafe many many years ago!! The owner is absolutely amazing and very friendly,as well as, all the staff members! It's a great place to sit and unwind and enjoy! It's a kid friendly cafe and has an outside seating area too. The food is great and a nice cozy atmosphere. One of my favorites, is their Greek Spanakopita! Coffee is also delicious and prices are reasonable! There is also, parking availability, which is always a plus!! I definitely recommend! read more

My family had reservation we had to wait 20 minutes to be moved from outside because the sun was too hot to be told they had one umbrella but it was broken then we got moved to the patio to wait another 1 hour to get our food. I've been coming here with my family and friends for years! Recently they upgraded their hookahs and they're much better. Food, cocktails, hookah and service is 10/10. The only reason I give it a 4/5 vs 5/5 is because of the train. It can get loud and hard to talk over. Still definitely recommend going and will continue to go back read more

I used to really enjoy the ambiance here with the outdoor seating and nice servers but after my last visit I think I may have knocked this off of my list. My boyfriend and I had a fine experience but he ordered a chicken gyro and it didn't have enough tzatziki. He asked for a little more and they said it would cost $2. That kinda stuff seriously rubs me the wrong way. The first time should be complimentary and the second time should cost extra. The sandwich is dry how is he supposed to eat it enjoyably? Didn't like that nor the energy of the restaurant. Something I also hate is when I walk into an establishment and the workers look at me funny. Should I just leave? What happened to "hi how are you! I am saddened to write this review as Ero's has been a place I frequented for years, but I probably won't be returning after yesterday. (This is going to be a long one....) I took my mom to an early dinner for an Early Mother's Day celebration. We sit down, reviewed the menu & order our drinks with one woman. (With me having gone so often, I've learned that this older female is either an owner or manager). The managers often will seat guests, take orders etc. A male bartender is the one who brings up our drinks. My mom ordered an alcoholic drink and I ordered a Heineken 0. He made a comment when dropping off the drinks that what I ordered was "nothing" or something along those lines...this is important later. We put in our apps, one of which was on the specials display that was on the tables. She clearly didn't know the specials because she had to look and squint her eyes, but finally she got our order down. Our apps come and one was wrong. Instead of the scallop special, the mango and shrimp salad came to our table - again, this was a different person coming to our table. We explain to the woman we did not order that. She takes it back then a male....(assuming owner, because he was going to all the tables asking how everything is) comes with the plate, walks past our table and hands it to the table besides us and lets them know a mistake was made in the kitchen and they could have it. ?????? Why not offer it to us? It wasn't a big deal because we ordered lots of food, but it's the principle. Very strange. Finally, our food comes. Mom ordered the octopus and a lamb souvlaki platter which she was very happy with. I had the crabmeat stuffed flounder,as pictured, and unfortunately it fell flat. Pictured is as much as I could stomach. There was something off about the potatoes that my mom and I could not quite pinpoint. It almost tasted as if it was made in old water and had no seasoning to it. Oh, by the way, we figured out the table who got that mango salad were definitely friends of the owners because our original server/manager/owner and the male owner kept returning there. our original server was there chatting for 10 mins while we still hadn't received any waters which I had to ask for. She also disappears after this. My mother then gets the attention of the male bartender to say she'd like another drink and he says "what about you.... Do you want another.... Whatever that is..." At this point it's just simply annoying. I can order what I chose but on a more serious note, what if I was ordering a nonalcoholic beer because I had a problem or was pregnant or something... I don't know, maybe I thought this way, too, because I was incredibly annoyed at my experience. We wanted dessert but opted to go elsewhere and not give them any more of our business. Again, our original server was MIA to even ask for the check. I am mortified because I used to LOVE this spot. I think the problem is they involve too many people. If someone is serving a table, you don't need 3-4 other people involved and dropping things off, taking orders etc. That gets confusing & is a bit chaotic for the customer. Cute place in East Rutherford to have breakfast/brunch. Food is good and so is the service. We often go here for fredo cappuccinos which wake you up and yet are so light. Javier is the fredo cappuccino king, make sure he makes it for you. There's a small outside seating area for the warmer days and they have hookah in the back for those interested. I came here for coffee this morning. My friend and I ordered their Greek coffee (double). Everyone was very nice and made sure we were good. I love how they treated us. There's a small parking lot in front and street parking which is limited. I always come here after 8pm, you cannot call to make reservations ahead, you have to be there to make reservations. The place is very busy, at least a 30-40min (outdoors) wait usually i when I go on the weekends. The restaurant is not that big, you have indoors for food or outdoors for hookah/food. The outdoors is tented, so that helps when its cold outside. I nice spot to hang out with friends and have hookah. Theres a good amount of hookah flavors and drinks as well. I have only had the pizza which was good but the fries and molten lava cake were okay. The Chai tea was really good and sweet. There are a lot of options for food. read more

Great hang-out spot to chill with some friends, and enjoy drinks/hookah with. As for the food, it's so so. This Cafe used to be in another part of town until they relocated here. It is across the street from the Train Station. It has a small parking lot with several spaces, and street parking. Very nice spot to sit down, and enjoy company with whether with friends or date night. They have a pretty extensive menu with a lot to offer from food (mostly Greek origin), alcoholic drinks, wide variety of coffees/teas/chai, and hookah (made on site). The hookah and drinks were enjoyable. The food was good, but not what I remember it being from the old location. I wasn't too enthusiastic with the Gyro platter. The gyro meat felt like it was the packaged "diner" version. The meatballs were okay, but a little bland. It also felt like a packaged "diner" version. Their menu is Greek inspired; recommend keftethes (Greek meatballs) or the char grilled souvlaki platter. They also have a bar and hookah in their outdoor space. The pasta (penne) and french fries were dried out. The Penne alla vodka tasted gross. The hummus was god awful. It tasted so bland. Besides that the portion was incredibly small. I ordered delivery through Uber eats and let's start with the beginning. Ordered a lemon chicken rice soup for 2.50, it came in a dipping sauce bowl lol. Fried calamari had ZERO flavor - only thing that made it good was the lemon aioli dipping sauce. Lemon potatoes (they sent me exactly 3 wedges with one lemon for $5 I'm so disappointed with this meal and would definitely not order from them again - cheap as hell with the portions and lacking flavor. I absolutely love it here. The staff is nice and attentive. The prices are great and if you're into this , they have hookah. It's also right by the train station for those that live along that line.
