I am confused by all the good reviews here. Shortly after we arrived for our dinner reservation at 6:30, they turned down the lights and were blasting club music so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you. The bread was good, but it all went downhill from there. The gnocchi was truly inedible - something was definitely wrong with - it was all mushy and tasted very ofc - but the waitress tried to tell us that was how it was meant to be. The pizza was very mid. We just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible because the atmosphere was so horrible. Definitely will not be back. read more

The food is good, but it is overpriced. My understanding that it's part of the Maple and Ash family, which makes sense, their food is good as well but definitely overpriced. Thanks to etta and their wonderful staff for celebrating Scottsdale's dogs by hosting brunch with the pups. This was our pups first big outing in the city, it was a wonderful learning experience for them. This was also my first time at etta and the food was amazing. She greeted us with happy anniversary wishes, recommended a perfect wine, and guided us through the menu. We started with the focaccia which is served with a yummy and inventive ricotta, honey and black truffle. spread. Then we shared the pasta bolognese, bucatini and wood fired asparagus that has spoiled my ability to eat any other asparagus but these. Service at the bar is OUTSTANDING. Closing off the main bar and forcing customers to the service bar must be a money saver because Etta is not doing the business any favors making patrons sit there. I want to preface my review with the fact that I do not review restaurants. There are so many great places to choose from in Scottsdale that I feel like I will keep my opinion to myself, and move on the next time to different place to eat. However, (old) Etta was a family favorite. We have celebrated birthdays there with my adult kids and their spouses which is a party of 10. My husband and I would meet friends at the bar last minute on many occasions, and we have had business dinners there. We felt the service, as well as the food was consistently good. We celebrated a birthday last night (new Etta) with only 1 of our kids and his wife as it was her favorite restaurant. Last year we celebrated her birthday at Etta with 10 of us and we could all chat and hear each other; there was a celebratory vibe without feeling like a club. Her birthday was acknowledged with some limoncello poured. Last night, although they knew it was a birthday celebration, it was not acknowledged at all. I knew they had closed and re opened. What we found was our go to menu items were all no longer an option. From the bread, to the pasta (cacio e Pepe) to the pizza (no longer on the menu at all) to the drinks we have loved and ordered so often in the past. As I have had friends go in the past I would tell them do NOT miss the focaccia with the ricotta honey spread. I have no clue why they would ever replace that with a caramelized onion and plain ricotta spread. Even the focaccia has changed, no longer the airy and crispy texture. The food we did order was fine, not great. We had scallops, and 3 pastas. We just did not feel enticed to order anything appetizer or salad. There is more steak and seafood options, but we went for an Italian meal. Our drinks were just ok, too sweet for my taste. The 2 desserts were good. We were there early, 5:45, so we missed the DJ but the music was still loud and not an environment I would ever go with our whole family or take a business client to unfortunately. I will close my review and say I write this as a real patron who was not hosted by Etta, therefore this is a true review. I may not be the target audience for them, but maybe others will read this and it will help them decide whether it is a good fit for them. It is not the same Italian restaurant it was. I feel like they are trying to compete with Americano or a steak house, but it is definitely missing the mark for us. There are so many phenomenal steakhouses in Scottsdale, as well as 2 just in the Kierland area. We all agreed we will have to find another Italian restaurant and that is fine. I wrote this to help others in choosing where to dine, as I do use Yelp a lot for my decision making. Based on the prior reviews, there are some people who enjoy the new vibe of Etta, and that's great! read more

The food was incredible. I'm not at all picky but definitely a tough critic and every single thing we had was just to die for. We got focaccia, oysters, ricotta pillows (my personal fave), Branzino, pasta, margarita pizza, and dessert and every single thing was amazing. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable, our waters never went empty. I can't say enough good things about this place. You must try it. The vibes at this place are off the charts! We came here for a girlfriends lunch, I hadn't heard of it before, let alone that they JUST opened. They were packed! Christina even gave us a round of champagne as we waited for a long time. So thoughtful and didn't go unnoticed! So happy to see a business thriving. It's beautiful, the staff was amazing! Strange that my review just disappeared from Yelp about this place. I'll make it short and sweet. The bar was nice. Bartender was super fun and friendly and can pour a mean martini, although $22 was a bit steep. Hostess' not so good. Called us and then had us wait another 10 mins to be seated. Once we sat, our waitress was smug and didn't seem to want to be there. We ordered and I asked for a side of goat cheese which she replied "we don't have goat cheese". No other offering, however, they have it listed on their menu for the wild mushroom pizza. We split the salad and as I was eating it, I felt something weird/fuzzy. I pulled a hair from my mouth that was mixed into the salad. Gross. Blonde, just like the waitress who was unfriendly from the jump....coincidence? Anyway, we also had pizza and pasta that we were going to share. I could barely eat as my appetite was scarred by a long blonde hair in my salad and snide waitress. The pasta portion which we were told were "shareable" was the smallest portion I've ever seen. It was dry (couldn't see a drop of sauce) but had a good peppery flavor. Mushroom pizza was soggy but I could see potential. Anyway, we will not be returning to this establishment and wouldn't be able to recommend it to anyone else. We went yesterday to Etta to have dinner, the decor it's nice, but the waiter's service since the beginning was terrible. I asked chili pepper for the pizza, he brought it when the pizza was cold, he didn't bring the bread for us we needed to ask for that, I asked my filet medium well and came to the table completely rare and red, he never changed our plates for clean ones for our second course meal, he never offered us more drinks, his pasta recommendation was not good just a simple pasta without good taste, he never came back to ask us if we needed something more. Of course we didn't order dessert. We are not coming back to this restaurant never again. read more

Food and service are okay, wasnt crazy about anything but the roasted oysters really, considered a "mid" restaurant, sub par at best.

Fantastic! There was nothing we didn't eat that we didn't enjoy: apple fritter, cinnamon bun, meatballs (we ordered a second round) sizzling shrimp (poorly named, but still good), huevos rancheros, French toast and chop salad were all great. The drinks were well balanced and delicious. Things are a little pricey, but it's to be expected at a place with great food and great ambience. My only critique is that service was friendly, but slow. It took us about 20 minutes to get drinks and order food. A fantastic place for brunch read more
