This is a lovely brunch spot which is an absolute MUST! Everything was great from the food to the cocktails especially the service. Alexis was our server and gave the best recommendations for what to order and drink. She was incredibly polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Her attention to detail is more of what sold it for me. Predicting our needs from refilling water with out asking, replacing silverware and even to the point that she refolded the napkins once someone got up from the table. The little extra things are what made this dining experience fantastic. All the staff was so nice even a little gesture of hello while walking to the restroom. Went here with a group of friends and family tonight. The food, service, and atmosphere was outstanding! The octopus on the starter menu was delicious! I ordered the chicken which came with mashed potatoes and that was delicious as well! The mixed drinks are unique and top quality. I came here for the first time on my birthday, and the requests I made regarding the spiciness of the food were treated as an insult. The waitress seemed bothered by everything. We left the tip in cash, and as we were walking out the hostess rushed out to ask me why I didn't leave a gratuity, which frankly insulted me. I will not go back. I have amazing things to say about my experience at Etta! It all started off with our warm and friendly waitress Day, she was so helpful during our visit, and we pretty much let her plan out our whole meal. We had the focaccia, meatballs, the Caesar salad with a nice piece of salmon on top, and the wood fired asparagus. My personal favorite was the chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream. 3rd visit. First time was a while back at grand opening. Solid. Second time we went, sat us in a loud bar even though we made a reservation for my wife's birthday. Went last night for another group birthday party......never again. Worst Italian food. Politely told the server the pasta was extremely undercooked, (parts of it were crunchy), and he took it well, grumbled something, and although I had one bite, they still charged us for it. Received our main courses 20 minutes before our starters, and the waiter's excuse was that it's a "free flowing" kitchen... yet we were so full from our entrees that we didn't even stomach the starters/sides. Bubbling shrimp was just boiled, overcooked shrimp with no flavor. Cacio e pepe tasted like pepper and boiled water -- missed the cheese element all together and was so bland. Focaccia starter was the best thing we ate all evening. The waiter apologized when he realized the kitchen messed up our order line up completely. As good as advertised, if not better! From the decor, to the staff, and the food, Etta is top notch. Enjoyed a gno at the bar where we indulged in a variety of dishes. Started off with the shrimp (could've eaten multiple plates!!), followed by the focaccia which was to die for, and rounded that out with the branzino that was cooked to perfection. But of course we couldn't leave without dessert. I have a serious sweet tooth and the chocolate cake with housemade peanut butter ice cream did not disappoint!! The service has gone downhill the last few months and honestly so has the popularity. The menu is so small and the food is boring. It's very salty and high in carbs. The servers forget to check on you and you expect more with the overpriced food. They've attempted to revamp items on the menu and not sure if it's better. I ended bloated the following day. We walked in and got not so nice looks from the hostesses. They then started talking about us behind menus. $53 for a salad, 2 kids meals and 2 lemonades. Food was underwhelming at best. Honestly, the best part of our lunch visit was our server who was very nice and patient! Will not be back anytime soon. Then out comes our dinner again everything highly highly overpowered with black pepper and I must say there were three couples and all three couples had a bill over $150 with hardly any alcohol this is a very expensive restaurant for the type of food that you get and everything that was wrong!!! Our luncheon server was lovely. Being told a "food Mecca, Scottsdale," that the chef's really don't accommodate requests was appalling. The lunch menu is as is with no options for incorporating anything desired from the dinner menu. Some of the salad portions were very small. The food was good but the lack of chef "minor change accommodations," was very disappointing. We are the customers. I don't assume this restaurant will last long here. Very Disappointing! When booking the reservation it lists several special requests, Gluten is one of them. My girlfriend has a Gluten Free allergy so I obviously chose that as a request. Additionally, there have been a couple Manager responses on here stating they have several Gluten Free options. That was simply not the case whatsoever. Once we were seated, we looked over the menu and nothing was labeled Gluten Free. We asked our server what can be made Gluten Free, it was obvious she didnt know and stated for us to choose something and she can ask the Chef...Anytime we chose a dish she would come back and say it could not be made Gluten Free (Very inefficient). Essentially, there was nothing that could be made Gluten Free, literally. If there was, why not just label it on the menu??? Per the server, most of the items are pretty small, ("Tapas style menu") which the exception of the "For The Table" options (4 items). I wanted to order a Salad with Shrimp, but adding protein was NOT an option unless I paid for the $18 appetizer to then put on the Salad ($35 salad? Makes no sense). We had obvious concerns throughout our stay and told our server we were going to True Food instead and asked for our check. The Manager was made aware of this, but quite frankly, nobody cared. They gave us our $38 check and we left for True Food. I shared our experience the next day with a friend of mine and he mentioned his wife went there with a group of girls and they were so disappointed in the service that they also left and went to SOL across the street. Apparently, the Chef doesn't like to modify anything or add protein to salad because it will ruin the taste. read more

Terrible experience in Scottsdale: just thought you should know.. We had our fist visit to Etta's last night. Everything lacked for us to have a return trip. Here are the highlights of our party of 8... 1. Service to order our first cocktail was over 12 min. 2. Music was too loud. 3. Upon ordering the waiter told us that we could not have separate check as the restaurant was not set up for that. The problem with that is, several people in our party like to drink very expensive bottles of wine and we did not want to. The waiter told us we would have to figure out how to use cash and make it work. 4. Second drink order again took to long for service. 5. 4 Mojito drinks were all ice. 6. The waiter told us the way the restaurant works is that they bring out the plates one at a time. This style of service is what many restaurants are trying to move towards. It does not work in the long run. People want to dine together at the same time. 7. The two pizzas that I along ordered were way to spicy hot. 8. It took to long to get the table cleared and it took too much time for the waiter to bring us our bill. When he did arrive, he said that he made a mistake and that today the computer problem / inability to take separate bill was fixed today. And he proceeded to distribute three completely Wong bill to each of us. 9.
