Service is slow slow slow. The new menu under their new chef......really.....5 entres. If they don't change their menu and change how attentive servers are the ones paying their salaries, they will not last. When Eddie V's, the mission, oceans prime, Dominics, and a litany of other restaurants are within minutes with 5 star service comprehensive menus........the outcome is clear...PS. It doesn't help when you ask the manager why the menu has become so anemic and he defends it as oppose to listening to the people paying to eat there.....also not a great recipe for success. read more

This restaurant has a lot of potential and I hope they succeed and do well because the interior and the atmosphere are really nice. They're having start up problems, as admitted to buy the manager, and the service ended up being very slow and at least two of the items that we wanted to order were not available. The big thing is that the mechanical contractor that designed their HVAC system made the mistake of using registers that are designed for horizontal applications and are being used in Etta as vertical applications. The upshot of this is that the cold air dumps straight down onto the patrons and even if it's 100° outside, after 5 to 10 minutes in this restaurant you are freezing to death. When I come back in six months, after they've hopefully sorted out their start up issues, I'm definitely going to bring a sweatshirt because I have never been so cold in my entire life. As a note to management, there is a fix for the A/C problem with the use of properly installed deflectors. read more

We were looking for a place for lunch. We thought we would try Etta, which is in the former Brio property. It looks as if the owners have spent a lot of money redecorating and changing the mood of the former restaurant. The lunch menu was quite small and very limited in choices. The prices were surprisingly high for lunch. We were told by our server that the portions would be smaller than expected because "everything is made from scratch". We ordered a personal sized pizza (12") and tagliatelle with bolognese sauce. The pasta portion was very small served in a huge bowl. The pizza was served on a stand with no seasonings offered and not even a utensil with which to remove the slices. No salt and pepper shakers on the table. We wasted our time and money in this overpriced and rather snobby restaurant. We won't be dining there again. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Was not busy. Wife wanted pasta but unfortunately they don't have any on thier brunch menu. Regardless, we ordered our drinks and waited for the server to come for our order. We waited...:and waited...and waited. We would probably still be waiting if we didn't decide to just get up and walk out. It was over 20 minutes from when we got drinks before we gave up and left - we didn't even see her around to grab her attention!! I never had that happen before in my life and my wife was in the service industry and blown away by they lack of service. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, and honestly, had a great server and pasta! So disappointed with Etta. read more

We've been in twice since they opened to the public and both times have been outstanding. For the food to be that spot on day two open was really impressive. The ambiance is wonderful, it's a beautifully designed restaurant and the layout of the line with the open kitchen and view of the hearth is gorgeous. We had Sarah our first time and she was super personable and friendly, and even remembered us and stopped by during our second visit to say hi. Our male server at a high top in the bar the second visit was great too. MJ the AGM stopped by to make sure everything was perfect. Great recommendations. Don't sleep on the oysters. I could literally eat a dozen and a half to myself. The beets are phenomenal. All the pasta we've tried has been great. Been told to get the short rib picnic, we'll have to get in another time soon and try it. Overall top notch experience and can't wait to see them get the menus designed for upcoming lunch and brunch. 11/10 recommend this spot. read more

This place is bomb! It took the waiter a while to coke over to us for drinks and food, but once they found out we had been sitting for some time they brought out complimentary focaccia. Everything from there came out so fast and service was excellent. They even brought out complimentary ricotta pillows. They took off my glass of wine as well. The food was amazing 10/10. My wife and I go to find dining weekly, and we were very disappointed with Etta!! We had reservations, and they seated us immediately. We sat on the patio where the floor, all of the seats and the tables. Oh yes, including the plates on the table were dirty. They had a huge wine list, which was a hodgepodge of not so great and very expensive wines. There by the bottle wines were not an average. Too high and wind they were trying to gear at wines that are from other countries and unknown brands with a high price tag. The menu is all over the place including dishes well over $100 We had the bubbly shrimp as a starter and really, it was just OK With all of this disappointment, we decided to get a woodfired pizza. I certainly thought there's no way they can mess this up. The pizza was soggy, runny, oily, and really terrible and uncomfortable to even try to eat it!! The waitress was inside, and not really coming outside very often as we sat on the patio with no assistance. So my wife and I informed her when she did come out that the pizza was terrible! Really this is there a bread and butter how can they mess up pizza. So when the waitress finally came out to bring us our bill, we asked her if she told the manager we were unhappy with the pizza she said that she did and the manager never came out. I'm sure the location of this there's a lot of first time and only one time people going to dine there because as a local we certainly aren't going back! This place is clueless! Myself and a couple of friends decided to try etta for the first time Sunday afternoon. We arrived around 1:40 pm. I mention the time to give some context to my review. Some might think a few of the things I mention are nit-picky however, I'd like to think a new restaurant in Scottsdale Quarter should be no less then stellar. The first thing we did was order two cocktails, one alcoholic and one mocktail. I'm not sure if the bartender did not know how to make the mocktail margarita (from the menu) or what, but it took an unreasonable amount of time to get. The actual alcoholic cocktail was out right away. Alas, we all ordered off the brunch menu. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. Our server Melissa, walked away and returned a few minutes later and told me they were out of the chicken sandwich and then just stood there. I told Melissa I'd need the menu to make a different selection. She went and grabbed a menu, dropped it off and walked away (not sure why if I needed to order again) then as she walked by again, several minutes later, she asked if I needed another drink, I said no and she began to walk away. I had to remind her I needed to order food still. I ordered and a few minutes later entrees came out, minus mine. It could have been avoided if she would have waited for my second choice instead of walking away. I finally got my entree and was disappointed in my selection (very basic scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon and hard dry toast) At this point our excitement began to fade and we were ready to be done. Melissa was not very attentive once our food came and it took way to long to get the bill. On top of that, the restaurant charges a 3% employee benefit surcharge on top of the total bill. I'm all about employee benefits but is there a reason it's a separate line? All in all, the food was good, minus the soft scramble, but I'd say maybe try dinner before trying brunch. We were excited to try this place but our experience was by no means, stellar. read more

My first experience here service wise was not the best. I ended up coming back with the same friend and it was phenomenal. We sat at the bar this time and Rochelle and Charlie were so attentive and sweet. The teamwork they had was so nice to see, and the food was delicious! Had drinks and dinner here tonight. Good service and good food. We had 5 different cocktails and they were all good! I just realized that I took pics but on Snapchat and didn't save any! The Drunken Botanist was my favorite. Our server answered all questions and was very helpful in ordering. Had the meatballs for app and the sauce was amazing! First time at Etta. Very lively vibe and energetic. Food was upscale and very, very good. Shrimp appetizer was overdone as shrimp was like rubber. Great service, great atmosphere, great food, but the app prevents 5 stars. Will go back. Wish they would remove some tables as you feel like your sitting on top of neighboring tables, but understand the sitting occupancy to maximize revenue. read more

So excited for this addition to Scottsdale Quarter! Me and my husband have been here for both dinner and brunch and enjoyed both visits tremendously! For dinner, we got their kale salad, focaccia, cacio e Pepe and pizza (yeah. We like food). All were incredible. The standouts were definitely the kale salad and cacio e Pepe. I dream about that tangy kale salad! For brunch, we got a biscuit, the breakfast sandwich, and yep you guessed it- the kale salad. The biscuit was one of the best we've ever had. We promised to each get our own next time so we wouldn't have to share the flaky, buttery, deliciousness. It is definitely a pricy restaurant but worth it for date nights or special occasions. Tonight was our 1st time trying ETTA and it was a incredible bar & dinning experience. Our waiter Dylon was spot on with all his recommendations. We started with the focaccia bread and grilled octopus both were excellent. My wife had the pepper & cheese pasta and I had the capaletti ox tail ragu both were loaded with layers of flavor! For dessert we had the cannoli ice cream sandwich that was a 10. We have eaten at many great restaurants all over the world and ETTA could stand up to any of them! read more

The service was fantastic, Brooke was inviting, friendly, and present. The food.. good god that was one of the top 5 meals I've ever had. Given, my mother is a legendary cook. The oxtail pasta is silky smooth with layers of flavors that evolve with every bite. I'd recommend pairing this with a red wine. We started with the focaccia, burrata, and bubbling shrimp. Those instantly shocked the table with an aroma of flavors. Everyone's mood changed. We floated on a cloud nine as we sipped on our drinks and admired the wonderfully exciting tastes our mouths were experiencing. The second course consisted of unique pastas and a divine wagyu steak with bone marrow to top it off. It came to a point where I knew I was full, but I had to keep going. The sheer elegance kept me engaged until the end. We decided to celebrate and finished off with celebration shots that tasted like a carajillo (Mexican coffee), topped with a cookie that was an absolute hit. Very good! Everything on the menu has been a hit. Red sauce l pasta seem to be all spicy...even the ones not listed as spicy. Just a kick but would not recommend for a kid. Lemonade is my favorite, it's so hazy you can't even see the metal straw. Brussels sprouts are my favorite. Only negative is they didn't acknowledge my reservation notes about my husbands birthday the last time we were there. read more
