Count me as one of the few people that really enjoys buying a new car. And I've had good experiences at this dealership in the past, both in purchasing and in service. After the way I was treated last Friday, I will never darken their doors again. In negotiating with the dealership online for a new Sienna, they came back with the lowest price amongst their competitors. I saw that Toyota was advertising a 0%/60 month financing promotion, and so I wrote back to the internet sales manager confirming that with that price quoted, I would still be eligible for the 0%/60. He wrote back saying "Totally! When are you coming in?" So I took a half day last Friday and went in. After the test drive and light haggling over my trade-in, I got the "final deal sheet" with all of the taxes/dealer charges listed on the sheet (which I appreciate). But the monthly payments were totally out of whack. I asked my sales rep to confirm that it was 0%, and then the closer told me that there was a $2,500 rebate included in the quote (never disclosed in writing or verbally), and that I couldn't take both the rebate and the financing. In follow up emails and phone calls with the dealership, no one will stand by what their internet sales rep put in writing. All of this, being a repeat customer who has probably spent thousands of additional dollars in their service center over the last three years. Never again. read more

Horrible Customer Service...I had a problem with my Engine light & my AWD light being on. I made an appointment & was told when I arrived that I would need to leave my car for the day, how inconvenient!!! The Service Tech also didn't know how to navigate my touchscreen to find out why my tire light keeps coming on. I decided NOT to leave my car and went to A&I Auto in Allston. I arrived, explained my situation to I who is the owner & who asked for the keys to check to see what problem was with a code reader.... It took all but 3 minutes to detect that it was my sensor causing the problem. I didn't charge me a penny!!! Expressway Toyota wanted to charge me $150 for a diagnostic fee. Excellent customer service! When my car was serviced in June, I never got my wheel lock key back feom them. I recently had a flat tire and was unable to remove my wheel. Elaine Beato went above and beyond for me. She made sure someone went to where my car was with the master key, unlocked my wheels and even left a new set of wheel locks with the key for me. She kept calling and making sure I was kept in the loop with the eta of it so i would know when I could pick up my car. read more

Any service takes more than 2 hours here. Unbelievably slow. Not only you spend half of your day here, but also you deal with rude employees. I had a paid WARRANTY and came here for a tire change after getting a flat tire, and the guy who works in the service talked to me like I am trying to steal a tire. He actually told me that (quote) "you can't come and get whatever tire you want" I never said anything like that! I just told him that if they don't have the same tire, any brand works because I need to go to work (after 2 hours and 45 minutes) I hate coming here and dealing with this people!! read more

Update: if you talk with them for a while, they did made an effort to do the right thing (updated from 2 stars to 3 stars) -------- They lie. I have spoken with 2 different service people and caught them all in lies. Makes you wonder what you REALLY need fixed. (1) I called to set up a brake appointment. The service told me the sales event ends in March and I must get there that weekend. When I got there, I saw a giant banner that says it ends in April. (2) they tried to fix my tire once but didn't have the model in stock so they put the old one back. However, they forgot to give me my wheel lock key back. When I told them they forgot to give it back to me, they said they always put it back in the car. However, as a favor, they looked around, "found an extra one", and gave it to me. That's like saying please take my spare house key. I'm sure it will work on your house. (How???). Anyway, simple lies. Makes me doubt the honesty of the services they claim you need. So why 3 stars and not 1 star? Because they'd been competent and friendly. When they fix something, don't know if I had more work than I needed done but the issue does get resolved. More importantly, I've experienced much worse dealerships. Example of worse dealership is Wellesley Volvo on Route 9, who intentionally damaged my car to generate business. I had a tiny windshield leak (upholstery WAS dry) and they poured a huge bucket of water into the car to get me to have them dry it out for over $1000. When I said no and got my car back, the entire footwell was sloshing with water. It was sunny the three summer days I left the car with them. read more

When I bought my car, I was told they couldn't give me an inspection sticker until 3 hours later, so I brought it back, via a noon appointment, and was ready to wait for the car. I also needed instruction on how to set up the wifi, and to have them install a removable roof rack that I had bought from them. (NOT a permanent installation!) They told me they were crazy backed up, and gave me a ride home, for an end-of-the-day pickup. At end of day I called them, I was told they would send me a Lyft to pick up the next day, but to wait for them to call. For a STICKER? So I said yes. The entire day went by, no phone calls, and I tried to call them, 5 times, left messages, no one called me. A salesperson told me that their phones went down. NO one had a cellphone? I couldn't arrange for them to pick me up even. So the NEXT day, the next morning, I get a ride, tell them I want my car back. The sticker is completed, but they still didn't have time to put on my roof rack, and they didn't look at my wifi or apple carplay connection problem. Someone came over to help, but couldn't set me up, told me to call Toyota (I did -- Toyota sent me to the dealer, because they couldn't figure out how to get Carplay working either) and when I told the man this, he shrugs, says Toyota hasn't updated their software. But that's not what Toyota told me. Either way, TWO days, for essentially a car sticker??? Poor communication, left me without a car, and they didn't do 2/3s of their job. Hi Anthony, When responding to customer reviews you should provide the relevant facts and not alternative facts to make your side look better. The competitors ad was 0 down and the normal startup costs were roughly $1500. This is also the same amount the numbers were negotiated on. When presented with the facts, your staff tried to defer to the terms and conditions. When it was pointed out that the terms abs conditions were pretty clear, they could not say anything. The point here is that your BDC people are intentionally misleading people just to get them in the door. On top of that, things are randomly being thrown into the price and magically disappear when a breakdown is requested. If this is how you choose to do business, then so be it, I just want to let it be known so that others do not have to waste their time either. read more

tl;dr: They flooded my car during a recall repair. They tried to sell me fixes for things that weren't broken when I brought the car in. Management never responded to either issue. Gross incompetence followed by gross indifference. *** I'm not a regular customer at Expressway Toyota but I'm the kind of customer who could become a regular -- but won't because they seem dishonest and disorganized. Oh well. I was brought in the door by a national recall -- something to do with the airbags. The national organization directed me to Expressway. I'm guessing that in exchange for doing the work of the recall, this franchise not only gets reimbursed for the work, but also gets exposure to people like me who otherwise might not know about them. Everything started great. I got an appointment when I wanted it -- on a weekday when I was off work and not during rush hour. I showed up but then waited in a line that was really awkwardly organized. A lot of wasted room but a bunch of us crammed in a little doorway. Slow moving but when I was finally waved to an open attendant, he was cool and friendly. Turns out, it was his first day. Or week. Or something. He didn't know much. Still cool and friendly, tho, and then he told me it would be several hours. Huh? This is a national recall. Shouldn't I have been told when I made the appointment? Okay, I ask about a shuttle home. Yes, they say. All is well. The shuttle driver is cool and friendly. We chat about Whitey Bulger the whole way home. He says to call him when I need to be picked up. What a relief to not have to worry about getting back to the dealer. I settle in at home for a couple of hours. And then some.... I finally get the call. They don't have the part. (What? For the national recall? Does the national office know this when they're sending folks like me over to Expressway for the recall repair?) No biggie, I say. Just let me know. They say they'll call me the next day, a Saturday. I'm cool with that. Next day, when they call, they tell me I need a brake light -- for $40 -- and the tires rotated and a few other expensive whatnots, all gross up-sells, for a car that's regularly maintained by my local mechanic. If I need a lightbulb -- which I didn't when I brought the car in, a light bulb that costs less than five bucks -- why gouge me? My regular mechanic has, in the past, just put in the bulb. He gets my business because he's not trying to give me the business. He does his job instead of jobbing me. (Doncha just love English!) Anyhow, Gouge Guy on the phone then offers to send the shuttle to which I say, yes, please. The shuttle driver is prompt and cool and friendly. A plus for the shuttle. But when I get back to the dealer, I have to wait on that weird "service" line again. And then -- on a very cold day -- I'm sent outside to wait in even a weirder little line -- about a foot and a half wide on a curb in the middle of a garage that's open on either end, like a wind tunnel. Why not let customers wait inside? Why not bring the cars up and then tell us to go outside? I wait my turn. It takes forever. I am very cold. Eventually, a kid comes up to me and takes my paperwork without a word. Unlike the indoor folks and the shuttle drivers, this guy doesn't really greet me or seem to know what he's doing. He goes behind a curtain for awhile and comes out again and asks me what kind of car I drive. He has the paperwork in his hand.... So I can see where he's going and he heads down the row of cars in the garage and while I can't see my car immediately, I recognize it when he backs out -- rear of the car toward me -- and heads off in the other direction. Huh? Where the heck is he going? He's gone a very long time. And when he finally pulls up near me -- after I've been standing in the wind tunnel on the tiny curb for about 30 min -- he gets out, and along with him, there's a blast of heat, like a furnace at full force. He says all casual like, as though I know what he's talking about, "I drove around with the windows open to cool it off." Why is it hot? "The other guy turned on the heat to dry out the seats." Why are the seats wet? "I don't know." So, on top of the cash-grab attempt, they've somehow drenched the front seat of my car. Did they leave the windows open during a rain? Run a hose on it? Spill a cooler of water on it? It was way wetter than a spilled Big Gulp. I jumped in the car and left. Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses. A few days later, I received a standard customer service inquiry in the form of an unsigned text from Expressway. It was boilerplate asking generic questions about my experience. So I wrote and told them essentially what I've said here: while the service writers and shuttle drivers were cool, the cash grab busted any trust or possibility of trust, and the flooding of my car was gross incompetence followed by gross indifference. If I could give them zero stars I would. It was a horrible buying experience, they waited until I gave them a $4,500 down payment and signed all the financing papers to tell me they don't have the title for the vehicle. I got a rental car through them for the time period I was given for expectancy of the title and it ended up being way longer than they told me. I was told the rental bill would be taken care of and not to worry. When it was time to bring the rental back and pick my car up they did not fall through. Management never contacted me back. The worst dealer i have ever been to in my entire life. I went in to test drive a 2017 Corolla SE with premium option and the guy who took me was so kind and was so helping me with the process, then suddenly the so called Manager came in and started shouting at me and my friend , literally insulting us on face. He indirectly asked us to "get-out" of the facility if we don't have any plans of buying. The reason for this was, he wanted us to buy the car right at that moment for the price that he told. Since it was the first day that i started looking for Corolla, all that i asked was 24 hours time to decide. This facility is going to have zero sales in a few years, if they have managers like him. I try not to, but how would things ever get better? so here goes: About 4 Years ago I went to Expressway Toyota and left VERY unimpressed with the customer service that I received. It caused me to move my business elsewhere. Now, Years later I decided to give it another try. Everyone deserves a second chance. So, I made an appointment to have my car serviced (a simple oil change) at Expressway. As I arrived I entered the bay and was greeted by a gentleman who wrote down my information( VIN & mileage). He then asked me to have a seat in the waiting area. This being my first time, I followed instructions- no problem. I was also familiar with this "way" from having all of my service done at Boch Toyota on the Automile in Norwood. You drive into their bay area and someone greets you, takes your information and asks you to have a seat in the waiting area-so nothing new. At Expressway however, the person who takes your information and your car is JUST a Valet! They park your car and that's it. How is a customer supposed to know this if not told by the VALET PERSON? So as I'm sitting waiting for a little over an hour, I happen to see a friend who works there. He does me the favor of going to check on my car to see how much longer I have to wait. This is when I found out that my car was simply PARKED and not even being serviced nor was it in line to be serviced! It was parked outside in the lot area. I wasn't informed that I needed to check in or do ANYTHING other than "Have a seat in the waiting area". Had it not been for my friend's help I would have been sitting there even longer and for NOTHING. I then ended up leavening without having my car serviced because I was informed that there were lot of cars backed up and waiting to be serviced, so I would have at LEAST a 2 hour wait. I was irate but tried to hold it together. Before leaving my friend brought me over to a nice gentleman/service person by the name of Ritchie, who asked that I return with my car the following day (today), and he would take care of my car. I had a great experience 3 years ago with this dealership and was excited to trade in my car for a new one. It was a total waste of time. When I asked a simple question, the sales manager Angel was rude and suggested I didn't know how to use the internet "maybe my kids could help me". My car needed an oil change but at $74 I thought that was expensive. Service immediately tried to sell me a package I didn't need and politely declined. I'd look elsewhere but do your research and make sure you know the value of your trade in. I know dealerships should make some money on the deal and I'm fine with that because it's business. Nothing is what it seems with these guys. I got a coupon to change brake pads for $99. I made an appointment after I went over the details with the rep on the phone, and when I got there I found out that changing the pads with that "coupon" will actually cost me $300, more than the quote I got from a different authorized service center which was $260 out the door including disc resurfacing. Out of principle, I pulled my car out of Toyota Expressway. I do have to mention that the service rep, Guillermo, was very accommodating, understanding and friendly. I wish he worked at the other service center I took my car to. Expressway, your schemes and tactics should stop after you sell me the car (a very tedious and intentionally prolonged process). We rented a car from this dealership and it was a good experience until drop off. The rental car manager tried to charge us an exorbitant fee for cleaning because more than the floor mats needed a light vacuum and there was one pet hair on the floor. Honestly the car was clean except for some dirt on the floor mats and a few bits of sand in a seat. This guy told me he was doing me a favor by not charging me more. Will not recommend for Non-English speakers or first time buyers This place is such a big scam. I would not recommend this place to anyone if your English is not good. It is my first time buying a car and my English is not good. I thought that the salesman would explain things to me more clearly knowing that my English was limited. I was so wrong. I ended up getting tricked into signing papers without knowing the exact details of what is happening because all the documents were English. They breeze through all the financing details without even telling me what the interest rates would be if I finance the car. They did not tell me about my interest rate neither did they give me the paper to sign to agree with the interest rate. But somehow I was stuck with that interest rate higher than it should be. I would think it ends there but it wasn't. When I went to pick up my car. What was supposed to be a easy transaction turned out to be more complicated because they lost my second key. Every new car is supposed to have two keys. Not knowing much English, they told me to come back a few days to pick up the second key, and I complied. A few days later I returned and they still haven't gotten my second key ready and that's when they admitted that they had lost my key. They said they will look for it and told me to come back a few more days. I didn't want to complicate things so I complied again. However a few hours later they told me to come and get my key. I came and they gave me a key that does not look like the original key I had at all. At this point I am furious and tired that I had to make multiple trips because of the wrong things they do. I demanded the manager to give me the original key to my new car and he had it ready for me in less than an hour. Overall, I feel like I was scammed. This place is sketchy and isn't truthful about anything they do. I would not recommend this place to anyone that doesn't know what they're getting into. read more

Stay away!!!! Told the maintenance guy my brakes shaked a little.. his eyes lit up like CA CHING $$!!! got the phone call need brand new rotors and pads $550.00. But he had a coupon to bring the price to $480.00. I also needed to replace a headlight, I gave them the headlight and he tried charging me $50.00 once I called him out on it he brought it down to $20.00. Advice: Find a local trust worthy mechanic. I've been coming to Expressway Toyota for about a year now since purchasing a new vehicle. Overall, I've had nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience. It's super easy to call for a service appointment, or if you have a question. The staff is extremely friendly. I've been very diligent about the 5K service intervals. On my last service, I got there early for the oil change and "the works" (not sure what it is, but it sounded expensive). It was covered by Toyota Care so it was no dime out of my pocket. The process took about an hour, which was to be expected on a weekend morning. I left the dealership happy, went into Boston, parked in my garage, and ran my errands. When I got back to my car, the check engine light came on. WTF?! I was *just* at the dealership for service. I called over and they said to hurry back because they closed at 6 and wanted to make sure I got it looked at in case it was serious. They said there are dozens of sensors and even the slightest drop of oil on them can cause a problem. I hustled back. The mechanics were so nice and asked me a few questions ... when did it happen, how long had I been driving, was I driving it like a standard (it's a sport-shift/auto), where did I go, what came first - the chicken or the egg, etc. They hooked a sensor-thingy up to my car and it buzzed and beeped. Then, they hooked it up to the computer and ... ... drum roll please ... It was the gas cap! I swore up and down that I knew it was tight and then proceeded to apologize up and down for wasting their time. They were really polite about it and even got a good laugh. One of the mechanics explained that when it's really hot outside and when parking in cooler environments, it is possible for the gas cap to expand/contract. He said not to worry about it, be glad it wasn't serious, and if the light were to come on again, just to take the cap on and off. No charge, no hassle, just good service. Side note: if you wait for service at the dealership, check out their snack/breakfast bar in the mornings. They have THE BEST huevos rancheros I've ever had. LA and San Diego have nothing on the Camry Cafe. read more

This place may take the cake for the worst overall experience that I've had at a Toyota dealership (granted, Toyota dealers set a high bar for customer experience). The stupidity started right from the moment I walked in the door to get my car serviced. Even though I had an appointment, and had given my name and phone number when I made the appointment, my service advisor had to reenter my name and contact information into the database *twice* as I stood at the counter, and it took forever (he claimed the appointments were in a different system and for some reason it didn't share data). Then he asked me if I had a Highlander, even though he'd been the one to let my Prius into the garage just moments before. Once the service advisor had finally taken my information, he showed me a book with their oil change package options, with service intervals that didn't seem right for my car. I chose the cheapest one, and--to his credit--he did not try to upsell me. While waiting for my service, I noticed a sign on one of the salespeople's desks saying "Warning: Prices subject to change depending on customer's attitude". I'm sure it was meant as a joke, but that's the sort of bad-attitude humor that has no place on a sales floor, or indeed in any other customer service business. By the way, they had several vending machines and a café in the customer area. There was free coffee, but everything else cost money. They quoted me nearly $500 to replace a windshield wiper switch, by the way (I declined). As far as I can tell, there was nothing especially wrong with the service that was done. But today, I got a phone call from someone who said that her records showed that I'd missed my appointment, and she asked if I'd like to reschedule. I told her that I hadn't missed my appointment, and she was completely surprised. Just after that, I got a text message *with my name misspelled* asking me to leave a review of my recent experience at Expressway Toyota. So here it is! I won't be back. read more

Kaprice in the internet department was helpful and cool.The initial salesperson Shawn was great - seemed knowledgeable and was nice. But then Bill the sales manager came into the picture. Wow....definitely not nice I could use an inappropriate word here to describe him but will refrain. Bottom line: do your homework. Know car values before heading in. Secondly, there is zero service nor greeting at all. When you're coming in, it's as if they don't see you there. Also, the rep has is clueless of what he's talking about and appointment isn't guarantee that your car gets served on a timely manner. It's basically first come and first serve. Came here at 12:50pm and I got out almost 5 o'clock for a simple tire replacement. plus,they never give you a copy of your car report unlike other Toyota dealership because they don't want you to know how your car is doing and they can rip you off next time. I was reluctant to even go to this place based on the location. My intuition was correct. When I walked in I was promptly greeted and then was passed off to 3 people before the original greeter decided he would help me. I went in on a Friday (less busy & to show I serious) I guess by the way I was dressed they judged me (all black everything jeans & t-shirt) Explained the offer I had at a Honda dealer but I was more interested in camry as I already have 1. I thought I was looked up and down a couple of times (maybe it was just me) offered the MSRP price for new 2014 camry said no room for negotiations. Went to Expressway Toyota for an inspection sticker. They failed the car due to a broken license plate illumination lamp, saying that it was an "electrical problem". They said that they tried replacing the bulb but that the electrical problem was more serious than that and they had no time to look at it now. Sent me on my way with a 60 day sticker. I went to my local mechanic who pulled the housing, dug broken glass out of it, tested it and found, in all of ten minutes, that I just needed to replace the bulb and it's broken socket. I then drove to two different Toyota dealerships to find and buy the $40.00 replacement housing. Expressway Toyota had the part I needed in stock (dealership computers said so) and could have sold it to me and fixed the broken lamp and housing right there. Instead I drove miles and miles and spent the whole day tracking down something they should've been able to find and fix in minutes. Stay away! They are either lying or incompetent at their craft. read more

Today I went to the service & parts department for maintenance & an inspection sticker. The employee by the name JAIROL was unprofessional and threaten me by stating "he would get his sisters" & also yelled "what the fuck" to me because of a misunderstanding of what I was getting done to my vehicle. He never once took accountably for his unprofessional actions. The customer is always right at the end of the day and for him and the manager on at the time to not acknowledge the lack of professionalism that was displayed by the worker was unprofessional. So, we just bought a used car from this place. We found a great deal online, which we discovered was about $3K less than what the sticker price was on the lot when we got there. Because we came in with the online price we were able to secure it without having to haggle with anyone. We called in ahead of time to let them know we were coming, but when we got there, one of the sales guys was using the car for an errand. That was weird. The customer service is iffy at best. The sales guy we talked to introduced us to the online person who then simply introduced us to the sales guy again and left. It seemed like we knew more about what was up with the price, the warranty, the car history, etc than our sales guy, and we did this by simply being informed and reading through everything they posted for our car online. So, my review is basically that if you are informed and careful, this could work out well. Try to find the car you want online first (esp. if looking for a used one). You just need to know what you want and educate yourself because it seems tough to get straight, clear answers there. The various departments don't seem to communicate with each other very well, and definitely get your requests written down and signed before signing anything. I mean - if you want your gas tank filled and any special details situated, don't take anyone's word for it. But, I guess that's true for everything these days. read more

I rented a car through the rentals department here, I got it clean and full of gas and returned it the same way. It only took me 5 mins to vacuum the car out, would you believe that! I wouldn't hesitate to rent here again in the future. read more
