We had a great experience with EZ Moving. Found ourselves having to move on short notice so we were looking to schedule something without a lot of lead time and and at an affordable rate. Getting a quote and scheduling was easy with OJ. The movers were very courteous and professional, extremely careful with our belongings and checked in with us during the move to confirm which items we were moving vs. hauling. We were very happy with the service we received. They responded to all of my questions right away prior to and during our move. We requested two movers for a one bedroom move with a second stop to pick up items from another bedroom, they were very accommodating. I wish we would've gone with three or maybe even four movers as the day wouldn't have been so long. It took about 10 hours including the drive time. They were very careful with our things. First off: They all showed up with masks, and were cognisant of covid procedures! Now to the real review: Quotes EZ movers was one of the first movers to answer my quote requests, but were ahead of all the others by keeping in constant contact. I corresponded with Jason Tugii, who answered all my questions promptly, assured me of their procedures and what to expect on moving day. I ended up picking them because of a combination of their competitive rates and their availability. The friendliness was a plus. Packing We decided to pack most of our boxes ourselves to save exposure time during the pandemic. I had a couple of boxes but when I realised I didn't have enough, they sent me some boxes and packing material. Not free, but the price and convenience was worth it. They sent me the packing materials the day after I asked for them. Moving Day They showed up on time. There was a hiccup with the number of movers that showed up, but it was quickly remedied. They moved fast, and were careful of all our stuff. They wrapped everything in blankets and plastic to protect everything. 0 breakage. On top of that, they were polite, friendly, and kept distance. Kudos to them-- they hand carried our couch down 6 flights of stairs. Arrival This review is getting really long but suffice to say the move into our new place went just as smoothly as when they moved us out. Only reason I give 2 stars instead of one is I think it's not movers fault but the management company should be responsible for this. I was moving within Los Angeles, total distance of 14 miles from MB to Culver City on a weekday afternoon. They sent couple of newbies, out of which only one was doing most of the packing and the other one was either doing paperwork or instructing what to do. They definitely didn't have a physique that most movers do for heavy lifting. They showed up without the packing material which was requested from the company to bring. All of these would have been fine but I really hated that they clearly used delaying tactics during the move to charge more money. Many times they moved couple of things by hand, spent 15-20 min on paperwork, 15-20 min on figuring out and changing parking spots. Packing took atleast 30-45 min extra than required. Worst of them was the time charged between the two locations. I intentionally left in my car at the exact time as the movers to make sure they don't wonder off and delay further which they did anyway. It took me 28 min to reach my new apartment while the movers took 1 hour. I get that the truck would be slow but no way it's that much time difference. As a result I was charged 2 hours because of the CA law about drive time charges. Now when we get to the new place, there is an elevator which can fit bunch of stuff together but again they chose to only carry few items at times. I had to be firm and ask them to move everything out of the truck and put it next to the elevator. Also had to force them to put more stuff in the elevator. Many times during this move I had to start helping out or instruct them about things any experienced movers would not need to be told. I have moved plenty of times before. My move from SD to LA cost me less in terms of no. of hours than this one within LA. All three locations I had a 1bedroom apartment. Eventually I had to stop them from wasting more time and stopped the clock without unpacking anything or moving anything further at the new place. This resulted in being more stressful and using my own physical labor. Last item is the couch that wasn't fitting in the elevator and they just gave up trying to fit in through the stairs doors. This resulted in couch being stranded in the parking garage. I had to leave it there for 4 hours, called in favor from friends to help move the couch upstairs. If I wanted to ask friends to help me move anyway I could have not gone through the movers. I know they will reply to this with some excuse and try to prove that they didn't use the delay tactics but hopefully providing all these details help someone see the full picture. Overall it ended up costing me 7.5 hours and upward of $700 to move within the city. It took less time to move from SD, it cost little more because the movers were pricier and the drive time was much longer obviously. I would recommend to go with experienced moving companies and pay more money rather than doing this, as much as I want to support small businesses. read more

This moving company was the best. They were able to get me moved in less than a week of requesting a quote. We got notified that we were approved for our new place on Friday Oct 2nd and needed to move on Thursday 8th. They arrived within the scheduled window and got to work quickly. We told them we only had the elevator for 4 hours and they got all our our stuff out. They did time checks with me and my husband and worked around me and my kids while were doing school and work. The movers were professional and kept their masks on the whole time they moved our stuff. The price was also very reasonable. If I had to move again. I would definitely use them again. read more
