If i could give this place a zero i would! I ordered food off the GRubHub app to have delivered I placed the order @6:08 the driver got there @6:40 was told it was still being prepared it was a Pick 1 combo and a pork sandwich with fries! Food was not "ready" til 7:30 . I live 8 mins from the store when i say my food was ice cold i mean it was ice cold. Meaning the food was already ready by the time the driver got there. They just didn't hand it to him until 730. He said other people that ordered at 6:50. We're getting their food at 7:15 drivers don't get paid for the time that they're there they get paid for the order they delivered so you screwed that driver out of money and I had to make up for in a tip because I felt bad because he sat there and waited for an order that was already made as he was told. It was being prepared when it wasn't. If I were you, I would not order food from here unless you are planning to pick it up and even then I wouldn't trust it and I've gotten orders from this driver before and they've always been piping hot so for the fact that it was ice cold, I know, for a fact it was already made by the time he got there read more

I am quite pleased with my order from Famous Dave's. Ribs were tender and meat falling from the bone. The shoulder was flavorful and tender. I have to say that I was very skeptical at first. This place is definitely worth trying. It may not be the infamous Memphis BBQ that I am use to but it's definitely a good second. I didn't realize this place was a chain, but that's due in part to the fact that I'm typically places were BBQ isn't staple food. Opting for places to eat while I'm in town visiting friends, this was one of the suggestions. Decided on burnt ends and ribs. Burnt ends were covered in a sweeter sauce that was really really good. Not too crisp which made them perfect for me. Ribs were tender and slid off the bone well. I got corn and garlic mashed potatoes. Wasn't all that impressed with the mashed potatoes, but the corn hit the spot. Our service was quick. Can I say that our server had a lame famous story? Because she did. Can't fault her for her less than famous famous story so no big deal on that. Solid 4 stars for a chain restaurant. read more

Not bad, but not stellar. It's really more like a solid 3.5 Stars. Food was decent, good variety, stellar service, but the flavors were just not there. I'm a BBQ snob and I'm really hard on BBQ joints. I'm not saying to not try this one out, but I don't usually endorse big chain BBQ's because they usually don't do a good job. We really, really love this barbecue place! I ordered the baby back ribs and my husband got a hot link-brisket sandwich and both were fantastic. The ribs were falling off the bone and all of the meats were well-seasoned. Overall, the sides were good (LOVE the cornbread!) too. read more

What is worse than average BBQ? An average BBQ restaurant with no liquor license. Our visit this weekend was only made better with some decent service. Otherwise I would think carefully about what you get when you come to Famous Daves in Hermitage. The food was okay and portion sizes decent but I would say this experience was underwhelming and that you would probably get way more bang for your buck if you bought a bunch of meat and grilled/smoked it yourself. The only reason it doesn't get two stars is the food is always good at FDs; otherwise it would get two. The service is lousy. We've been here 40 minutes and only received drinks that now need refilled. Food order was way too slow. After seating no one showed up for 5 or so minutes and then when the server did show it was "I will be right back". It was 10 minutes later. The room was cold too. Sat under a vent that was wide open with cold air. Not sure what that was about but didn't contribute to the 2-3 stars. Do something really good and get Famous. Do something really bad and you can also get Famous. Famous Dave's is Famous for their really bad BBQ. Once again I had a bad experience at Famous Dave's. I arrived about 9 pm on a Friday night and the place was not busy, yet I had to wait more than 10 minutes for the Famously absent waitress to show up. When the food arrived, the pulled pork contained lots of burnt, hard chunks of BBQ. The ribs were burnt and completely dried out. The chicken was good, but all the food on the plate was only a little warm, so all the meat was cold before I could even get halfway through the meal. And of course the waitress, was famously not showing up to fix things. I noticed other tables complaining with similar problems and they had different wait staff. For some reason most of the waitstaff was disappearing for long periods of time in the back. The above is a repeating occurrence. Almost every BBQ joint in the Nashville area has better food. I recommend, save some money, go somewhere else, and have a better experience. read more

We went shortly after opening. No one was at the door to greet us, apparently that person was busy sitting at the bar watching the TV. Finally someone else came up and asked it the guy at the bar had helped us to which we replied no. We were seated and given menus that had seen much better days. They were soiled with food and beverage stains and had items crossed off the menu with a pen. Probably time to splurge for new ones. Our coasters at the tables were torn and soiled as well. We were never offered the famous chips that used to come out before meals but maybe they don't do that anymore. Our waitress could be seen eating something with her hands in the hidden room near the bar and then going to provide service without washing her hands. Her service itself was okay. Let me start by saying I love eating at Famous Daves. The good is great. But last night I ordered carry out. It was a horrible experience. Called in an order at 4:30 for a pickup at 6:15. Arrived at 6:10 and it took a while for someone to appear. There was one other vehicle there. Finally asked for my name and disappeared. Came back in about another 5 minutes and said they didn't have any order under my name. I had to take out my cell and show her the receipt. Then show her the order and she told me that they had tried to call to let me know they were out of one of the items. Later checked my home phone and they did call. 90 minutes after I placed the order. We agreed on a substitute. Then the fun began. It took another 20-25 minutes to get my order ready. That is ridiculous. I did not order anything that had to be cooked to order. Watched 5 or 6 other vehicles order and get served. Finally got my order at 6:50. If you only are offering carry out you should do your best to do it correctly. read more

I was skeptical of this place going in after seeing a bunch of negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised and definitely had my expectations exceeded. The service was friendly and very quick, our food was ready in no more than 5-7 minutes and we had 7 people. Everyone was satisfied with their dish. I won't pretend like the ribs were the greatest ribs ever, but they were very good and perfectly cooked, especially for the time it took to get them to our table. The hamburger and sides were also excellent. Overall, a very solid restaurant and something I'd recommend to anyone in the area, although I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to travel here as a tourist. Not special, but good. read more

Kiki is the most excellent waitress. The food is good, but I am sure there is plenty of good BBQ in Nashville. The service, however, is the reason to go back, and if you are lucky enough to have Kiki serve you, it will be a special treat. She promised my granddaughter a special surprise from Santa, if she ate her lunch. When the ice cream sundae was delivered by another Elf, from Santa, my granddaughter exclaimed excitedly that she was disbelieving that Kiki was really and Elf, but she was now convinced. My grandson experienced his first boneless wings here, and decided they were the best thing he had ever eaten, and we should move to Tennessee. I've visited this location several times over the past few months, and each visit has been for a to-go order. I always call in advance so that I won't have to wait at the restaurant, but every single time I've had to wait upon arriving to pick up the order. The worst thing about it is that I always order the same item, and it's a very simple order which requires minimal preparation and it's usually at a time of day when the restaurant is not very busy. Based on this, it seems that the location is very disorganized compared to other Famous Dave's locations I frequent. read more

we ordered Famous Dave's via door dash. the dasher arrived and waited an extended time for the order and the when we received it we were missing the beans, corn and slaw. it took 5 calls to get a person, then the manger after being hung up on by an employee. The manager told me I could come and pick them up, basically defeating the entire purpose of having something delivered, so agreed to give ne a Whopping $5.00 credit then. Very decent for a chain restaurant. The brisket is by far my favorite here. The ribs, not so much. For ribs I go to Peg Leg Porker anyways. The pulled pork is pretty good as well. The sides here are always good. My favorites are the green beans and the turnip greens. The sauce flavors are pretty good as well. I tried the wilbur's revenge today, and wow! I love hot stuff, and this sauce was super hot. I think I will stick with the devils spit from now on. Overall a decent bbq place for a chain. We walked in and the floor was so sticky and smelled like sewer. Hosting a birthday celebration and was extremely embarrassed! The entire look of the inside has changed for the worst. It no longer has that rustic cabin feel with the smell of hickory. The wood has been painted white & I felt like I was in a cafeteria. The All American meal we always order came with 90 percent fat and 10 percent meat. We immediately asked for our check. I've been going there throughout the years and have great memories. Gave my daughter a car in the parking lot for her 16th! But we will never be back. It sucked! It didn't deserve 1 star. read more

I have observed that this place has stayed BUSY from Day 1. (That's gotta be 3+ years, folks!). Why is that? Well, I first came here after they opened to get the facts. It was decent enough BBQ, and the service was reasonable. But, I think the main reason is portion size and price. Nothing says ( to some) "good eatin'" like a generous plate full of grub with a price that invites repeated visits.... My take was that it was a decent enough place, but my arteries would clog if I visited too often....So, I moved on to more palatable BBQ fare. Well, a recent need for food during a TV football party had me giving them another try. Here's the breakdown: * I ordered take-out, so I never was seated. Right away, I felt like a second class citizen, as far as attentive service goes. I was asked to "wait a sec" while the young lady got something to write-on (?)...fair enough, I needed to review the menu and decide what I wanted. But, then I waited...and waited...and waited. Finally, she returned and I gave her my order. *I ordered BBQ with some cornbread and baked beans. This seemed pretty standard...so, why did I have to wait another 15+ minutes for them to round it up? * In the meantime, I observed no less than six young ladies hovering around the hostess stand, chit-chatting. (Excess staff, apparently.) Final verdict: meh... I like my brisket, but I like to feel far more welcomed than this. I am not a big fan of BBQ, but this is one of my favorite BBQ restaurants. I love the variety of sauces they have at the table so most anyone can find something to their flavor. The menu options are great and the daily deals Mon-Fri are amazing, especially Tuesday's. The Two-For-Tuesday deal really can't be beat. And be warned, they aren't kidding about their chicken wings. The WIlbur's Revenge are very very hot. I love hot stuff but I could only eat 3 of the 5 I ordered. Never had a problem with service here either, and I love how they have the pig cards to summon your waiter, although I rarely have to use it because the waiters are usually on the ball anyway. read more

Ate there for lunch on Sunday for the first time. I thought that it was a local joint but realized afterwards that it was a chain. Did a great job. Sat at the bar which is my comfort zone and told the very CHEERY bartender to bring me food, her choice. Don't tell me, just bring it. And she hit the right spot. Pulled pork on a slice of Texas Toast with a dash of sauce, was not needed it was so moist but added a little kick. You have a choice of five sauces, and the mustard one I thought would be good with chicken; which I also ordered later but was wrong. The chicken was moist, cooked perfectly, and needed NO added anything.. 2 1/2 ears of corn, tasted great; corn muffin was perfect with the butter, and the mac-n-cheese had bacon. What more do you need. I was very surprised at every level here, the service was FLAWLESS, the manager checked on me at the bar because the bartender told her I was from Texas and wanted to know how they compared. I was pleased, the bartender whom took care of me was on top of her game all the time. Food was great, the business was clean, atmosphere was great, and the restrooms were well kept. I called ahead and made reservation for my son's birthday. They had us a nice area ready. Our servers Amber and Adam. They really took good care of us and our guests. It was Adams first night working working for Famous Daves. He did great. Took photos for some of ours guests. No one had any complaints about food. No one ever had and empty glass. Food we had, chicken tenders, pulled pork sandwiches and rib platters. As usual, everything tasted great. And they allowed us to bring a cake. And still brought our son a flaming sundae. Good place.
