Oh Fantastic Burger, you guys are crazy! I'll just bypass the whole ownership changes and names changes for review sake and get right down to the core of things. This is definitely a local spot that is spacious and pretty clean to the average eye. Very standard in the ordering procedure as you can order up front and wait for your food to come out. If the place isn't packed, the workers will bring your food to the table if you decide to dine in. The menu is hefty. It's one of those joints where they serve everything a diner would like breakfast, burgers, dinner plates, Mexican, and other random things. I usually stick to the burgers and all the good stuff you eat with it like fries, onions rings, shakes and such. My family also likes to grab things off of their Mexican inspired menu since we ARE right next to Norwalk and you'd think they'd try to snag some business for those wanting a Mexican fare. They don't claim to be authentic and it shows. No worries because it's not horrible. They advertise a family pack on the window of four burgers, four fries, and four drinks for $20. I think that would be your best bet if your trying to feed a good amount of people. Can't go wrong! Food isn't the best but will get the hunger job done. As for service, its good for this type of joint. Helpful when need be but surely won't bend over backwards for anyone or anything! I do like the fact that the dining area has ample room, TVs, soda station, and a circular area in the middle of the place that's home to all you can grab condiments. Spontaneous breakfast with my coworkers the other day and due to lack of choices in the vicinity of our offices we ended up here. It's basically your standard cafe breakfast with hash browns kinds of place which is part of a larger chain and if you don't mind astronomical calories and fat in your food, it does the job when hunger takes over. It was clean and actually cute enough for a Fantastic Cafe, with a Rubys-like decor and the service was extremely friendly and pretty efficient which is a giant plus to me...always!! Worst fantastic cafe I've ever been to. I've been to the one by CSULB, the one near by Boeing in Long Beach, the one on the Westside of Long Beach, and I figured this one would be a good nice Fantastic as well since I rarely ever have issues with the franchise. Soon as we go in, myself and my family, we see two cooks and no cashier, and some strange stares. After a few minutes a cashier lady shows up to take our order. My wife gets a breakfast burrito. I figured my son doesn't like anything but chicken so I asked if they had chicken and possibly waffles. The lady insist that I get salad and fries with it. I only wanted the waffles and chicken because I knew my son would not eat the rest. She tells me there's only the combo. I say I want an order of just waffles then and an order of just fried chicken and she gives me a confused look. One of the cooks says "Pollo" in Spanish and I knew that means chicken so I said yes, si pollo, to which the cook the replies ok buddy. I ignore him and tell the lady just give me the order however it's made then. I proceed to order my everything breakfast burrito with all the meats. The cashier verifies and I pay. We ended up waiting 15-20 minutes while one cook starts singing to himself in Spanish and the other talks under his breath me and says "KIDS, he's a kid ". The only kids there are my son and daughter and why would you talk about my son in front of me and my wife. When I finally go pick up the order and the leave the guy then says in an angry looking face and voice, you can get dressing for the chicken for only 50 cent, to which I reply no thanks we're good and leave. The entire time there we had an awful air of uncomfortable unwelcoming feel. No friendliness at all. No customer service. But who am I to expect positive treatment just for supporting this business during this pandemic. When I arrived home a few blocks away in Cerritos, I find that one of the burritos is missing. I called ahead of time for a breakfast order of 3 huevos rancheros and 1 bacon avocado omelette, and it was ready for pickup in 15 minutes as soon as I walked in, quickly paid, picked up the food, and left. Pre-COVID19 my family and I came here a lot for breakfast as well, my dad always gets the huevos rancheros and the hot pastrami here is pretty decent as well. The carnitas fries are pretty bland, though, when I came here to try them with my friend. All their omelettes and breakfast options are really good to my knowledge, haven't really tried their lunch/dinner options besides the Mediterranean salad with pita bread which was really good!!! If you love ABC burgers, this spot is the place to go! It's a mom and pop shop, so you definitely get your money's worth! This is our go to place, when me and my bf are craving burgers. First off the hamburger combo was 6.19, i made it a cheeseburger and had onion rings in place of fries which took my combo to over $9. So not worth it i thought it would b on the Tam's level, NOT. Oh yea! The only place in Cerritos where I can get my greasy diner fixings! This place (on the corner of 166th and Pioneer) actually used to be a great little diner called "Fantastic Cafe". However, after a couple of years of going out of business, I guess they decided to give this place a makeover! The makeover consists of a new name AND a whole different menu! The diversity of their new menu frightens me: they've got breakfast all day, burritos, tacos, gyros, burgers, hot dogs, teriyaki bowls, cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, steaks and even spaghetti. As you can see, the Fantasic Burger Grill favors no one singular culture over the other. Anyways, so here are the items that I have tried since they completely remade the place: the gyro, the Fantasic breakfast burrito, club sandwich, and of course their delicious french fries. I actually LIKE their gyro (even though the meat doesn't have that authentic flavor), but that's just me. The Fantastic breakfast burrito is HUGE and so delicious (filled with hashbrowns, eggs and an assortment of veggies). The club sandwich is pretty good, but it's a club sandwich. Lastly, the fries are still just as crispy and delicious as ever. The items that i WANT to try are the huevos rancheros, the avocado cheeseburger and the steak and eggs breakfast combo. Don't come at 9:45 pm ... hours say open till 10 but they lock the doors at 9:45 Other than not keeping the hours they advertise I actually frequent this place for breakfasts and early dinner. They don't have a drive thru but I don't mind walking inside and eating there. It's very clean inside which I love and they serve the food to your table. Everything we order from here is delicious. Well I start off by ordering over the phone to pick up but as I arrived there were 8 people in front of me waiting to pay/order their food as I am patiently waiting like everyone else a couple walks in frustrated because there was a line then they complained that it's to long to wait when we waited and next thing you know they opened a additional register to cater to them gave them there food then went back to one register. As I approached to complain saying why is that fare when I preordered over the phone and my food is getting cold but yet you denied me jumping the line for a food order over the phone they became apologetic and just wanted me to finish paying because I was holding up the line . On 8/22/2021 in the evening I walked in to this place to place an order simple a Cobb Salad the Girl that was at the register was on her cell and never acknowledge me she had her mask half on and I waited and I can count the people in the ordering line it was two female next to me which they had already orderer and me and one male talking to the cook about how his order was wrong and an other male picking up his order and the guy that was talking said I always come here and he is not putting bacon in my chicken sandwich which he always does!!! So he tells her you are new and she doesn't respond!!! So then she asked me how can I help I said I would like a Cobb Salad and then she said the meal I said no just the Salad so she said it's $10.49 so I gave her $10.50 which I thought was still to much!!! So she goes to give me the penny back and I tell her to keep it so everyone leaves and the cook tells me what are you waiting here for after being in there for 45 minutes I said I'm waiting for the Cobb Salad that I ordered then he proceeds to tell me I have no receipt for a Cobb salad I said don't ask me ask her if she took my order!!! Then he proceeds to tell me I have no receipt so I can't give you an order without a receipt I told him again don't ask me ask her I paid her then She looks at me and says I don't remember you I said are you freaking kidding me I said give me my cash back I'm leaving then he says I'll make your Cobb salad I said no I want my cash back He was so rude and told her to give me $11 I said I gave you $10.50 I want my cash back so she says he will make it at this point I'm upset and just want to leave I told them to let me speak to the owner and they said he wasn't there so the moral of the story is always get your receipt when you're in there !!! The cashier directed me to an island in the dining room. It was self serve. There were no tongs to handle the peppers. And they looked old. I went back to ask for tongs and noticed the cashier standing behind the counter eating with her fingers. GROSS! She brings out the tongs. I already knew I was not eating those peppers or using those tongs because she didn't wash her hands. Even after she handled my cash I'm sure she didn't wash her hands. I asked for fresh peppers and she told me they just put them out this morning. So in other words people have been using their bare hands to get their chili peppers all morning. I told her never mind and walked out. This is so unsanitary. I'm done with this place. And as far as that pastrami? Not worth the money. It was small and very bland. I told the girl that delivered it that it was supposed to come with cheese and she said, "Hold on." She walked away, delivered 2 tables of food then came by and said that it doesn't come with cheese. I pointed at the menu and read to her that it says that all omelettes come with cheese. She rolled her eyes and walked away. First time going to eat here in a long time was excited to have a meal that brought ba k some fun childhood memories. At the door I was greeted with "you need to wear your mask" very rudely from a underpaid employee who was not wearing her face mask properly. I apologized and put my mask on to save an argument. The food was not the same quality, the hospitality was below average. The cleanliness of the tables outside were poor. I asked if they can clean the tables. They used a wet rag. Then I was cautioned that they use bleach as a cleaning agent. Refuse to take my hard earned money to that whole in the wall again. Remember breakfast specials end at 11.
