Server brought our drinks and it took about 10 minutes for her to come back and check up on us to inform her that the iced coffee was super bland. All it was was milk and ice so we got a regular coffee instead. As for the food it took over 30 min for the food to come out. Hence there were only two other tables besides ours. I ordered chilaquiles divorciados with chicken breast. Chilaquiles were $15.99 plus $7.49 to add the chicken. I would rate it 2/10. Red salsa was good but the green one had no flavor at all. The only thing that helped was a house made salsa that they brought on the side. The potatoes were really over cooked and no flavor. As for the chicken also bland and only about 4 oz of chicken for the extra charge. My husband ordered the machaca burrito. Which was a plain burrito with shredded beef. We never got a coffee refill until we asked when came back to drop off the check. I was really hoping to like it since one of my friends that works for the tres hermanos down the street had recommended it but it was disappointment. We hadn't really planned on having brunch, we had no reservations for anywhere else, other places we checked at 11:00 am had an hour long wait and we were starving. We found this place on Yelp and thought to give it a try. It's cute inside! If you have a larger group, or have kids, need to work on something or read a book, or have a small discussion or meeting with someone, this place will work for you. You order and pay at the counter, so don't expect sit-down full service you would get at other places. Our party of four had avocado toast with fresh fruit, steak and eggs, kids chicken strips and fries. First off, everything was cooked correctly and arrived at our table in about 20 min. So maybe they've had issues before, but the wait was reasonable for us. I don't know why people complain about the avocado toast. It had a pretty presentation and it's huge for one person with mashed avocado, lettuce, poached eggs, ricotta, pickled onions and more avocado slices on top, plus the side bowl of fruit we chose. The person in our party who was expecting a "light meal" got way more than what she expected, but agreed it tasted good. My husband and I had steak and eggs and were both stuffed. (And we tend to eat big.) Medium rare was truly medium rare and my over medium eggs were truly over medium. The dish was seasoned well with the breakfast potatoes with parmesean shavings being the highlight. They look unassuming, but we couldn't stop eating them. The kids chicken strips were approved by our 6 year old and had and above average batter he describes as "very crunchy and actually good". Their fries were the best for both soggy and crunchy fries fans.....super crunchy on the outside with just enough mush in the middle. Our family had a non-fussy, super casual good tasting brunch without the crowds and without loud drunk people. Yay! We'll be back to try some of their burgers. Was on my to visit a friend in the valley, but needed sustenance. Googled nearby restaurants and voila! Super cute on the inside-decor & high tables are Wanted pancakes with sausage, but my server said they only had pork sausage. Ok. I'll take the chicken & waffles - thigh & leg on the menu - perfect, my fave parts of the bird. Well, that's not what came. A tough breast cut in two was brought. Why? That's all they had was the answer. Shouldn't they have asked me if I still wanted it? I got the truffle burger and a lot of my friends got the spicy crispy chicken sandwich. The overall consensus on the crispy chicken was that it was tasty but not very spicy. EMS breakfast burrito eating club review: While looking for another breakfast burrito location, we we surprised that the initial place were were going was online only, so instead we bring you a review from an unassuming location Initially, the environment is clean and welcoming, with a gleeful and enthusiastic staff. The varieties of coffee is nice and in particular, the banana coffee is great! Different than normal, because they only have one style of breakfast burrito, we each had an entire one prior to review. This place is a establishment located in the metropolitan heart of San Fernando valley that makes you forget you in the valley at all. From the crate ceiling, to the produce displays, this is a modern day farm ambiance that delivers exactly what they advertise. The breakfast burrito size and plating is impressive. The various layers of the burrito are on full display and is served with a picante sauce and sour cream. A pico de gallo is available by request as well. In terms of taste, this burrito has a very traditional flavor. This includes the full slices of well cooked potato, the light and fluffy scrambled eggs, well flavored ham and sausage, and a good helping of melted cheese. Add to this that they expertly cook the tortilla afterwards and you have a good sized, well flavored breakfast. Presentation: 7/10. I feel this could be dramatically improved if they simply opened up the burrito to show its awesome contents. Also, the plastic containers felt more like a take out than a dine in. Taste: 8/10. While not an artisan burrito that we usually review, the solid textures, we'll-flavored but not overpowering meats and well-cooked tortilla are fantastic. Size: 9/10. Heard a lot about this place and and the menu seems pretty good. First off, the decor is pretty cool. Sustainable chic. Love the reclaimed wood mixed with the iron industrial furniture. I'm Sure it gets super busy during the week as it is right across from the Van Nuys court house. Good selection on the menu. You walk in and menus are in a box before the line to walk in. Order at the counter and find a seat. Food is delivered to your table as a number is handed to you after ordering. But coffee drinks are picked up at the counter as your number was called. We ordered the steak and eggs, medium cooked. And the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. And a chocolate chip cookie. The steak was more cooked than requested. It was more medium well/well once we received it. The batter on the chicken sandwich was over done, to a crisp. The sandwich was ok but could been better if the batter wasn't too done. The aioli sauce was good though. But out of the food we ordered, the fries and cookie were the best. I just recently discovered this place this week, and I am head over heels! It's the perfect place to work from elsewhere, if that's of interest. I had the hot, chocolate and it was delicious and came out in a pretty big, cute mug. The space itself is super clean, there are lots of plants and big windows in the space so it feels bright even on a cloudy day. The staff were very kind and attentive. It came with eggs, bacon (or ham), toast, and potatoes. The bacon was pretty good - glazed with some kind of seasoning. The whole plate cost $9. To me, that's a super good deal! The breakfast was presented just as beautifully as the pictures show and tasted even better. The service was great too! We had to be in and out quickly to make an appointment and our server got the job done. Prices were quite reasonable and we had plenty to eat. Freshest fruit I've ever seen with a great variety. I don't normly eat bacon but gawd dayummmm their bacon was out of this world...the mix of sweet and spicy was fantastic. Definitely a flavor explosion in your mouth. Scrambled eggs were really good but the potatoes were everything!!!! I've never had those type of potatoes, they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and it was a good amount too. Absolutely love this place, so reviewing from the pre-pandemic stance first. The welcoming environment at the big farm table is a great experience but I also enjoyed sitting alone in a corner with my laptop. The atmosphere inspires creativity and it's never too busy. Parking is always a cinch, though it's metered. And while you don't wait long for a seat, it does take a little while for the food. In the photos attached, I had to wait extra time since I ordered my eggs over medium, however they arrived with the yolk completely cooked. Then I found a hair in my potatoes, but I had already eaten most my plate so I sent it back and just requested fresh potatoes. Unfortunately by that time my appetite was ruined but mistakes happen. Overall, I really enjoy the food and now in the pandemic, it's take out only. I ordered and the place was empty so I sat and waited while masked. I got the breakfast burrito which was amazing.
