I came here today for brunch with my best friend for her birthday. We arrived around 11 a.m. and were seated right away since the restaurant wasn't busy yet. While we waited, I got us water, and because we were catching up, it took us about 15 minutes before we were ready to order. We both ordered iced coffees. I ordered the steak and eggs (medium with scrambled eggs), and my friend ordered the huevos rancheros. Around noon, the lunch rush started, and that's pretty much the last we saw of our waitress. Someone else brought our food, and I immediately noticed two issues. First, the eggs were overcooked. The presentation is beautiful, but it's not practical. They serve the eggs in a cast-iron skillet, which continues cooking delicate foods like eggs after they leave the kitchen. Before I even flipped them over, I could tell from the bubbles on top that they had overcooked. Sure enough, the bottom was browned and overdone. Then I cut into my steak. I ordered it medium, but it came out well done. It was tough enough that it took effort just to cut through it. After finally flagging someone down, my waitress returned, and I explained the problem. She asked me to hand back the entire serving board so they could remake the steak. That honestly surprised me. The only issue was the steak, so I simply moved my toast onto the board and handed her the plate instead. It was a small interaction, but it made me feel like the staff lacked experience handling situations like this. The replacement steak was much better, and I genuinely enjoyed the potatoes and the garlic butter that came with the meal. Unfortunately, the service never recovered. From the time our food arrived until we left around 1 p.m., nobody checked on our table, refilled our water, offered more coffee, or brought the check. It was frustrating because I saw our waitress walk around with water for other tables but didn't come to us at all. I eventually had to flag down another employee, who apologized, offered us water to go, and brought the check. Ironically, that's when our original waitress finally came back saying she'd bring it. Whether it was poor communication between staff or simply inattentive service, I honestly don't know. I usually prefer speaking with a manager directly rather than leaving a negative review, but getting anyone's attention was difficult enough that by the end of the meal I was simply ready to leave. I really wanted to like this place. The restaurant is beautiful, and it's easy to see why it's become popular on Instagram. Unfortunately, it felt like the focus was on creating an aesthetic experience rather than a great dining experience. For two people, the bill came to about $65 before tip, and it just didn't live up to the hype. The food alone is a 3-star experience, but the service is ultimately why I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars. A note for management: I'd strongly reconsider both staff training and how certain dishes are served. There's no practical reason to serve scrambled eggs in a cast-iron skillet when the residual heat continues cooking them after they leave the kitchen. Just as importantly, servers should be ensuring the entire dining experience is enjoyable not just taking an order and disappearing until it's time to drop off the food. Guests shouldn't have to flag someone down for refills or even the check. If you're looking for a trendy brunch spot with great photo opportunities, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're looking for thoughtful cooking, attentive service, and a restaurant where execution matches the presentation, I'd skip this one.
Avocado toast was not good The bread was super mushy and avocado wasn't seasoned at all I was very disappointed especially since they are charging 17$ for this Plus, their coffee drink was completely overly Sweet
I went here to for a birthday brunch and the food was just amazing! I ordered a Cali Breakfast Burrito with a iced vanilla latte with horchata cold foam, and it was so so good! Additionally the service from our server, Carolina, and everyone there was perfect. I especially loved how well put together and on brand the place was. It was definitely aesthetically pleasing for sure! Will be coming back for regular brunch soon!
Cute restaurant. Came for the 20% off discount, but I'd pay full price for this meal anyway. Standard raised by the chicken and waffles + strawberry chicken salad (pro tip: swap for shrimp!). Caroline was our amazing server. Farm Table treats us right. Validated by these frappes!
I found this restaurant on Yelp and was eager to try it. After looking at their photos, I noticed they offered quite a wide selection of food. I waited about 40 minutes to be seated, as I arrived during a very busy period. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic-modern cafe vibe that leans casual but is thoughtfully designed. However, it was very rowdy by the time I was seated. Let's talk about the service. My server was one of the slowest I've ever had. It took her about 15 minutes just to bring out our drinks, and she lacked attentiveness. She didn't seem able to handle multitasking. I ordered the chorizo burrito and some pancakes. The chorizo burrito consisted of chorizo, scrambled eggs, melted cheese, and home fries (country-style potatoes). The home fries inside the burrito were dry and had a hard texture, I honestly felt like I might hurt my jaw chewing them. The chorizo itself had a mildly spicy, smoky flavor. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. The pancakes had a buttermilk flavor and were served with fresh fruit on top. However, they were dry and tough, and the flavor was very lackluster. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. From slow service to basic-tasting food, I don't see myself giving this restaurant another try. We waited a while before getting seated. I normally do not mind the wait, but it wasn't busy and there were enough servers to seat us and manage the front. It just seemed a little disorganized. It took time for them to take our order too, but when our dishes arrived, they were delicious! I ordered the Huervos Rancheros and I loved it, my husband ordered the California Breakfast Burrito, and he thought it was good and hearty. My daughter ordered the Nutella Strawberry waffle and she thought it was amazing. Overall, I'd give this place another shot since the place is lovely and clean, just a little short with the service.
What a great breakfast spot in an area that really needs exactly this! The menu was fairly extensive with breakfast offerings on one side and lunch on the other. They had a great coffee menu and a limited but well curated local draft beer selection. They also had wine, listed by varietal. Their service was quick and attentive and the ambiance was homey and inviting. Felt more like Granada Hills than the courthouse stretch of Van Nuys. There was a sizable free parking lot in the back and metered parking out front. Definitely a repeat!
This is my second post and that's totally fine ! This place is so wonderful and delicious that I wasn't sure if I wanted to share. All of the items were order came out hot and fast but soooooo fresh and filling. The service was an amazing. They do a great job using all of the workers to check on the guest and attend to the needs. They are kind and polite as well as efficient. The inside just tops off all of the other parts and makes it that much more wonderful. You get to sit and enjoy with that feeling of being rushed through . It's so calming and private with the decor and theme that runs through . Plenty of seating and space. You don't feel right on top of others and plenty of room for a group .
First off, this is a beautiful location with lots of light. The service was excellent, and everyone was friendly even though it was quite busy. Unfortunately, there must have been some kind of miscommunication as I ordered my chilaquiles with over medium eggs (because runny whites gross me out) and they came over hard, almost baked. I didn't have the time to deal with it, so just pushed them off to the side and focused on the rest of the meal. From reading reviews it seems like this might be a common problem?
Hidden gem on Van Nuys! The food is delicious (with generous portions), the house coffee is flavorful, the decor is adorable, the room is spacious (yet cozy, which is neat), and the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the pancake combo with bacon, eggs, and home fried potatoes. The presentation was beautiful. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, but weren't my favorite. It's not a knock on them, though...I'm just particular about pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes, and I recommend it for anyone interested in a great spot for a bite!
Been wanting to come to this place since it openend. For a while it was on the hot and new list. It also got a lot of promotion on instagram. Instagram pictures are perfection and the food looks very appetizing. The place is Nice looking Instagram worthy. Super clean and inviting . Smells clean. The waitresess are super sweet and helpful. You might ask. Why the 1 star review. Well.... I ordered chilaquiles. The ones that come with green and red salsa.. i wanted to see which salsa was better. Green salsa is a beautiful flavor tangy lil spicy well seasoned. But it was just green salsa poured over chips.. not incorporated and cooked together. The red salsa was well seasoned spicy and smokey. Not sure if they uses chile morita or Chipotle. Same thing salsa just poured over chips.. i mean I can enjoy some crispy chilaquiles but that was just straight up chips and salsa. The beans on the side were also really good. The "steak" was carne picada.. and honestky it was a bit hard. My chilaquiles did not come with cheese or crema . So I asked the waitress if they weren't supposed to come with . She was very apologetic and brought ke some on the side... ummmmm. Didnt taste the same as it would've already been added to the plate. Then. While I was eating the chips with salsa on my plate I pull it of the plate and what do I see. A freaking nasty ass hair!! honestly its been hrs since I left and im still queasy. I called over one of the waitresss that was available and she said it was from the egg. Ummmmm seriously. From the egg. It was about 5inches long. How could it be from the egg. She freaking passed me off. Whe she saw my face she said she was gonna call her supervisor who was the waitess that I had from the start. She was super embarrassed and apologized.. she took my plate to the back and in fact came back to say it was a hair. "If I wanted anything else".. ummmm hell no!!! I know shit has to to with cheese and and wasn't good t3t£appens .. but damn. 1st no sour cream and cheese in my food. Then the hair ugh no thanks.. im certain I will not be back... super disappointed.

The food was tasty but expensive. I got the burger it was a lot of bun. My husband ate the steak and was undercooked twice. The service there was respectful and pretty quick and knowledgeable. The esthetics of the restaurant is creative and cozy, nice chill... I'd go back again! read more

Loved the tuna melt and sweet potato fries!! I don't find this dish in most places so when I saw it, I had to have it! Everything g was fresh and delicious. Lovely relaxing ambience. Staff was very kind and attentive. Clean and I love the wall size window in the from and the beautiful hanging plants. Very nice place! Excellent fresh delicious eggs Benedict with side salad that isn't your average boring side salad. Instead, it was fresh iceberg, lettuce with tomatoes, cucumber topped with corn and tortilla chips just filled with so much flavor! Beautiful peaceful place to eat! read more

Well, the green juice was good but meal was not the best. I ordered the steak skillet and it wasn't enjoyable, really. I know what you're thinking. How can anyone mess up steak, eggs and potatoes?! The steak was over cooked and lacked flavor. Sadly, the home fries lacked flavor also. Admittedly, I'm a little biased towards russet potatoes. I'm not a fan of them and the way they were served here - pretty bland- didn't change my mind. The environment is nice and I really love the decor. The service was friendly. I might eat here again and give the menu another try because I like the ambience so much and I really want to like this place. read more
Cute themed location and I love the big old wooden tables. Great for writing and a hot beverage. Ordered the Breakfast Scramble, but it was more of a baked skillet egg thingy. I came around lunch time but was in the mood for breakfast. I had their pancake combo. I chose the home fries, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. The scrambled eggs were a bit bland. I added salt n pepper which helped. The sausage came in the form of a patty and was very good. The pancakes were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. read more

We've passed by this place for years and finally had the opportunity to try it today. Disappointed is an understatement. We ordered coffee and juice and once they arrived we ordered our food. We ordered: Club Sandwich, French Waffle, & Side of Home Fries. 30 minutes later after everyone around us got food (some who ordered after us) our server looked at our table, her eyes got wide, and she hurried into the kitchen. She came out and said our food would be out in just a minute and said sorry. She came out a few minutes later with the sandwich and fries and the home fries. Then said the waffle would be out in a minute. A few minutes later my husband went to find a manager, as I waited for the waffle (which take on average 5-6 minutes to make) when he came back he said the server told the manager that the kitchen got backed up to which the manager seemed surprised to hear. I was also surprised to hear that since we saw a very constant stream of food coming out of the kitchen. Including the table next to ours of 4 who ordered after us. When the waffle finally came out it was severely undercooked and had the consistency of a thick pancake. The table next to ours also had waffles and you could see the visible difference. They gave us a very small discount on the bill and my husband a second glass of carrot juice. We didn't care about the very small discount. We cared about the wait and the quality of what came out to our table after waiting for as long as we did. Somehow our food was obviously forgotten about and was then rushed and not made properly. And to get a very obvious excuse as opposed to what actually happened was a bummer. We were curious about the place. Curiosity has been met. No need that go back. The coffee was decent. The service was great! Ordered a burrito was ok, hamburger was good, huevos rancheros was ok. Steak and eggs was not so good . The scramble eggs were ok, the steak was chewy and tasteless. But the tip of iceberg was an extra fee for paying with a card and they added 18% tip in the bill and left space for additional tip . That is no good for me . read more

Great brunch/lunch place in Van Nuys. Met my friend here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There's plenty of metered parking in and around the restaurant. I will say that its a bit hard to find but once you do, ordering/eating was very easy and convenient. You order the food at the counter and get a number. I got the chicken sandwich but asked for it to be a wrap. You get a side so I picked the salad, although I secretly wanted fries. I was a bit tired and decided to get an iced latte. (Was very sad to learn that this place doesn't serve alcohol, as my friend and I wanted some wine!). My friend ordered the Asian chicken salad. We sat inside as there was no outdoor seating, but people were spread out. Her salad came out quick and was huge! My latte came out and my food came out shortly after. Food was fresh and the place had a real earthy and trendy vibe. I would definitely come back and maybe sneak a wine in, lol! read more

This place is cute with the farmhouse style and live plant decor. Unfortunately the food missed the mark. Ordered machaca and it was not traditional. It was super watery, lacking flavor, and packed with non traditional veggies. I picked out the meat and was left with way too much veggies. I didn't eat the beans either, lacked flavor. Van Nuys Blvd looks pretty meh, but it does have some great places to eat at , including this cute place. The servers were attentive, the food came out pretty fast, and I liked the taste of my food. I'm interested in trying other plates. read more

I have passed the Farm Table about 5 times driving down Van Nuys Blvd. over the weeks. We finally made a point to have breakfast there. It's right across the street from Van Nuys court house. A Really cute place. Everything is nicely appointed. The service is pretty good. The menu has a good selection. I ordered a bacon and cheddar cheese omelette. A ham and cheese omelette was delivered but it was corrected quickly. Food is good. Parking is on the street and in back of the restaurant. Farm table is a cool upscale place and is not a typical restaurant for this area of Van Nuys, so they will need everyone's support to survive. Try it!! read more

Server Jeanette did a great job taking care of me today. This order came in super fast and portion is HUGE. Big enough for 2 to share. For some reasons the waffle is not as sweet or as rich as I was expecting (in a nice way) and the home fries was also surprisingly good. The ambiance is modern and I love the oversized tables and chairs. Make me feel like a kid once more. So go visit during the week. I heard that weekend can be crazy busy. read more

Gross. Food tasted great then i saw all the grease or butter that was in the burrito. Completely ruined it. Also, dead people move faster than those cooks. Wasn't busy and still took about 20 mins to make a breakfast burrito. Go somewhere else. read more

First time trying Farm Table Coffeehouse and food was delicious. The portions are big, enough to fill you up. We went maybe 30 minutes after they opened, the service was fast and our server was constantly checking up on us. The crowd does come after 9:00 am so I would say come earlier to avoid the morning rush. Their fresh orange juice was very good! Not pictured is their iced caramel latte, 10/10 even took one to go. My potatoes were a bit salty but it was not salty to the point where I didn't eat them. My boyfriend did say the pancakes were a bit bland. Something that I was not a bit of a fan of is that they do include tip. I did not see a sign mentioning it prior to being seated or ordering. I'm not sure if it's for all parties. Our party of 4 check had included a gratitude of $20 and although our server was defiantly worth that, it would be nice to have the option to tip what we would like. However we will be definitely coming back again. read more
Very cute, clean and pretty space. It's a calming environment away from the street. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because the burger I had the meat had thicker fat pieces that were more rubbery. Meanwhile the burger didn't have any greens or veggies, so it ended up being like a French inspired cheeseburger; all dairy and meat. The cheese on it was grilled so it was crispy. But some of it was too hard. The green salad was good. The pink drink was fruity and lightly sweet. It was the one that was included with my meal; you serve yourself at the main counter. Maybe the burger I choose is not a good representation of the entire restaurant, but in terms of ambiance, style of the place, and service, I would be happy to come back. read more
