Poached Chicken Salad Shawarma spiced swordfish skewer
    Pamela G.

A field trip taking the Larkspur Ferry and lunch at the Farmshop. A friend of mine really likes it so we thought we'd give it a try. Overall it was a nice experience. We shared the Poached Chicken Salad and Shawarma spiced swordfish skewers. The winner was the swordfish -- really good. I wasn't too excited about the sides that that came with it. I'm not a big cucumber fan and didn't like the big chunks of it in the yogurt . And I like tabbouleh better with bulgar rather than quinoa but that's my taste. The salad was quarters of uncut baby romaine with dressing on the side. We saw a lot of it going by so people must like it but I like my salad cut up and tossed. The very fresh walnuts and sweets dates served with it were great. Our waiter ( Victor) was great. We arrived when they opened and easily got a seat but it really got busy so go early or reserve. It is a really nice space, very large with a screened outdoor area and a pretty dining room. Pizza oven, wood fired kitchen area and long bar. I'd try it again -- maybe a pizza and see if I could get a tossed salad.

Unfortunately, I am unable to review Farmshop because I didn't eat or drink anything. I visited alone on a Saturday around 3 p.m. I went to the host and asked if I needed to see him to be seated in the bar, he said, "seating in the bar is first come, first served." I sat in the bar at a table, two tables down from 2 women who were finishing their meal. I figured whomever was serving them would also serve me. The restaurant wasn't packed but it was busy. The 2 women who were finishing their meal had to wave someone down for a to-go box. So maybe there wasn't a server assigned to our area. I did make eye contact with a bartender several times but he did not come to my table. I waited 20 minutes at the table and then left.

I've always thought of Farmshop as a reliably great spot -- and after our most recent visit, I'm glad to say it still hits. Their wood-fired pizzas (especially if cooked crispy style) remain a highlight. The pepperoni version is my go-to: nicely charred crust, good balance of sauce and cheese, and enough crunch that every bite feels satisfying. Their Avocado hummus served with crudités (and lavash) also stands out -- it's something special, rich and creamy yet fresh, a perfect starter or light share if you're not overly hungry. Though the staff this time was "adequate" -- friendly enough but not especially memorable -- the food itself made the meal worthwhile. The kitchen still knows what it's doing, and there's a clear consistency to quality that keeps pulling me back, even after a period of visiting less often. If you're in Larkspur or Marin, it's a reliable pick for a casual meal that always delivers.

The food is still great but the people working there are less attentive than ever. From Check in and server etc. that part is frustrating to look acrosss the room of workers and no one is looking to see if someone needs something. Took a while. Side note- we brought our daughter here for a momentous occasion and had it in the notes at booking. They not only didn't give us an indoor table it was just missed. I asked at the end if they had Birthday note in their reservation- she said NO. So something is wrong with Reservation app and when you come in and what they see. Definitely call in if an important milestone. *Missing our daughters' 21st birthday celebration meal is quite the faux pas at "their favorite restaurant"! (They used to ask are we celebrating something special but also booking notes also helped them-no so anymore) Ambiance is chill as usual and pleasant - for not getting our requested seat "inside" -which was empty, we were "inside at the outside" which the seating guy thought fit the bill for not having a seat inside. I say it is just kinda how the times are- a disconnection- even at your favorite eatery.

Everything we ate was delicious. We shared multiple items for lunch because so many of the offerings sounded so good. We had the Caramelized Meyer Lemon Pizza, Avocado Hummus, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Zarate Farms Winter Chicories, Brioche French Toast, and Vanilla Meringue Creamsicle. Everything was very good, but I especially enjoyed the Caramelized Meyer Lemon Pizza and the Vanilla Meringue Creamsicle. If you like pineapple on your pizza, you'll like the slightly less sweet Meyer Lemon Pizza. The flavor and multiple textures of the Meringue Creamsicle was incredible. Although it was a busy Saturday lunch time, service was prompt and welcoming at this casual eatery. The noise level was medium-high but nothing really that impacted conversations.

Service is efficient although somewhat somber. Ambiance is great we sat in front by the front door so the noise wasn't a problem as it can be sitting inside The food was good - I didn't like either pizza - the lemon I feel overpowers the pizza and the pepperoni I'm just not fond of little cups of oil - but the avocado hummus and the fritters never disappoint. The potatoes were good.

Excellent service and delicious food. My friend and I enjoyed our dinner here and would happily come back. My tomato salad was so fresh, I really appreciated how many vegetarian options there were on the menu. Had a great time overall and hope to try the lemon pizza next time!

Really nice location with a boastful outdoor eating space. Thank you Cindy for a great visit and lunch

Tasty pasta and salad could feed two people. Beautiful patio area and nice bar. Pasta has a great spicy flavor, salad and toasted bread was great as well.

Visited this place for brunch with friends. We didn't make any reservations and were able to get seats, but I recommend making a reservation because the restaurant got very busy later on. So, the food was delicious; everything we tried was amazing. Service was slow, but it was compensated for by the attentive service and good atmosphere, along with the wonderful food.

Wild mushroom frittata with arugula salad.

It had been awhile since we ate at Farmshop. (Covid keeping me from my usual commute which made it convenient) We decided to give the place a try when shopping locally, and we're really glad we did. Seems like they really stepped up their brunch game. The pizzas were as good as they always were, but it seemed like there were more options now, like the delicious mushroom frittata we tried. The service and ambiance haven't changed at all, and that's a good thing. We won't wait quite so long before coming back.

With its spacious seating, glass enclosed doughnut display, walk up wall menu on the exterior and its open concept register counter it is truly inviting. With a menu of unique flavors and those same flavor options beautifully displayed behind a glass window, we had to order a few to try. Flavors available were coffee cake, blueberry lime, lime poppyseed, vegan guava, and chocolate chip cronut - these five we ordered, Other flavors included brown butter glaze, strawberry, chocolate vanilla crème, raspberry jam, cinnamon glaze and sprinkles. Lemon blueberry was very lemon forward with subtle notes of blueberry. The doughnut itself was crusty and soft at the same time. We enjoyed the pairing and texture. The coffee cake was just that, a crusty soft dough with the crumbly topping of coffee cake goodness and all those spices too. The lime poppyseed was light, soft and airy with a citrusy zing of lime. It was the most refreshing of them all and this is coming from someone who is not a big fan of lime. The guava was like biting into the fruit, not too sweet on an airy, soft dough. The chocolate chip cronut was a flaky layered croissant like dough that tasted like a chocolate chip cookie with a decadent chocolate frosting. It was quite the pleasurable treat, our daughter loved it. The staff, compiled of two women at the front, were friendly with smiles. Our treats were packaged in a beautiful white and gold box, it looked elegant when presented to us. There is the availability of drinks to order like tea and coffees. We would most certainly return for me. I'm curious to see what other flavors and combinations Johnny Doughnuts presents to us.

The shop is pretty tiny, located next to a donut shop near the netrance of a medium sized open plan shopping center. Came in there and the worker offered us whatever samples we wanted and we immediately noticed the really interesting but unusual flavors that they had. Of the classic type flavors, we really liked the brown sugar vanilla and the breakfast cereal one. The cherry special drink and the grapfruit one also tasted quite nice. But the ones that stood out the most were the thom ka and the chaat masala ones. while the chaat masala didnt end up having that distinct tanginess you might expect, the thom ka ice cream was mind blowing. It tasted exactly like having the soup but in a cool and refreshingly creamy dessert form. My mind couldn't really process it other than the fact that it was delicious. We ended up opting to pair the thom ka and the brown sugar vanilla to have a "normal" flavor to offset the unusualness of having a thai soup ice cream. We honestly could not get enough of it - it easily was one of the best ice cream scoops we had ever had and it being a plant based ice cream was insanely impressive. Frankie & Jo's will definitely be a place we will be returning to especially as the new seasonal flavors roll out so we can see what other concoctions they might be able to try and conquer.
