Here is what I ordered. Puffy Taco with Al Pastor The tortilla...I have never had anything like this before. It was airy, crispy, and not oily. It added such a great texture to the whole dish. Despite how basic this taco was, it was nothing short of amazing. The al pastor had a nice char and was very flavorful, topped with onion, cilantro, and cheese. It was perfect. I also appreciated how easy it was to eat. Everything fit in one bite, and nothing fell out. Street Taco with Carne Asada You already know what I am going to say here. It was simply good. The carne asada was just as well cooked and flavorful as the al pastor. You can enjoy these tacos in many different ways, both plain and with the green and red sauces. Now let me talk about the sauces. The green sauce was smoky, tangy, and aromatic, with a great consistency. I do not like it when salsa verde is too watery, and I really liked that this one was not over blended. You can actually see bits and pieces of the ingredients, which made the flavor more punchy. As for the red sauce, it had a good level of heat and was very aromatic. Just like the green sauce, the consistency was great. If you are looking to add a kick to your meal, definitely add the red sauce. Lastly, Damien was one of the nicest people I have ever met in the service industry. From time to time, he was working the front alone despite how busy it was. I honestly do not know how he maintained such a positive attitude. We've tried the Fat Burrito and the Puffy Taco -- both are great, but the Puffy Taco steals the show. It's so crispy, flavorful, and just hits the spot every time. I always get it with al pastor (HIGHLY recommend), and my boyfriend loves it with carnitas. We seriously come here almost every Monday -- that's how good it is. And don't even get me started on the horchata... it's BOMB AS F*!!!** So creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The vibe inside is super cozy -- always clean, and the natural sunlight that comes through the windows makes it feel so warm and welcoming. It's just a really chill and comforting place to eat. I was craving a carne asada burrito that was loaded with meat and flavor. I had been to Fat Burrito once, years ago. I didn't remember having anything bad to say about this place, so I figured why not?! My family and I rolled up to this place, located on the northwest corner of Baseline and Archibald (strip mall with former 99 cent store). Parked right up front and patiently waited to take our order at the counter. It was pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon in this quaint little restaurant. They offer take out and dine-in, where you order first. I opted for takeout since we were a party of 5 with a toddler. Took my order to-go and quickly noticed how generous they were with the sauce (it was leaking from the food container into the bag). Cut into my burrito and, well, the picture speaks for itself. The burrito was perfectly loaded with meat, beans, rice, and cilantro/onion. The portions were very balanced and I was so glad they didn't skimp out on meat with the rice and beans in there. Their salsas are also very flavorful. The green is mild and the red has some heat. Now all this is pretty standard for a basic burrito experience, but what made this place stand out for me is the quality of the meat, how it was seasoned, cooked, and prepared. This wasn't a cheap meal by any means, but the quality really sets this place apart. The meat itself had a really good flavor, you could taste the char from being grilled and it was seasoned just right. The texture of the meat was perfect - tender, no excess fat, not one unsatisfactory bite. When I tell you this place hit the spot, it cured me of my craving in the most satisfying experience. I had the regular burrito (there's a fat burrito on 2 tortillas for $26.99) with Carne Asada and added green sauce. The burrito itself is $12.99, with an extra $2.99 for sauce, running me almost $16 for this meal. I miss the days of $6-$8 burritos, but here we are. Fat Burrito 'fatisfied' my craving and I would definitely recommend for anyone who prefers quality to quantity, although this place compromises on neither for the price. read more

Visited yesterday for the first time, based on all the good reviews. I had, of course, the Puffy tacos, one carne asada and one chili verde. They were both good, but basically tasteless. The meat was ok and plentiful, but the only other item on the taco was cheese, which had no taste. The carne asada taco meat was very greasy; the chili verde much better. The price was high for the quality, IMO. The service was great, as the young lady was very pleasant and helpful. All in all, probably won't be back. read more
