After hearing about Felipe's all over social media, I FINALLY decided to check it out and what better way than celebrating two birthdays The week before, I called to try to make a reservation for a party of 12, but they let me know it's first come, first served (which honestly wasn't surprising because this place is popular ). So our plan was to show up early for brunch and hope for the best. We got there around 10:45 AM, checked in, and were able to secure a table Even though their posted opening time is 11 AM, people were already seated and being served before that...so they might want to update their hours Service was great! We had multiple staff members helping our table and everything came out smoothly Drinks were REALLY good We got a margarita flight, which was super fun to try! Food was good overall, but I do think there's room for improvement. The rice was a little bland, and the beans were a bit too salty Overall, this place is definitely a vibe Perfect for celebrations or brunch with friends. Parking is easy since it's in a plaza , but the space itself is on the smaller side, so be ready to possibly wait for a table

Great early lunch before flight. The staff was prompt and gracious to let us have loong lunch before flight. We sat inside - the decor is lively and festive (not loud). We had the Barbacoa (fantastic flavor) and chile relleno with shrimp (large relleno, large shrimp perfect cooked and the sauce awesome). Price is reasonable (a lesser place would have cost us about same) for quality of food and service. This is first time we've had Barbacoa (quesa-birria) the spices and tender pulled beef were fantastic. Came with a salad of red cabbage and pickled green bean which was v tasty.

Ordered a bunch of food for the New Year's Eve. And then it just still happens to be a one day which they are having a 50% off all Margarita, and that should take advantage of that. It's a busy night so we have to wait for an hour for our food. But $7 for mango margarita and the passionfruit margarita is definitely a really really good deal. Molcajete is a show stopper but is probably more theatrical than taste. It is indeeed very generous in portion and then I don't think two people will be able to finish that. What I loved the most is the fish fillet with shrimp and octopus. Lightly seasoned so fish still tastes fresh and sweet. Rice goes better with its lemony sauce and you still get quite full with all the octopus and shrimp.

Felipe's is a small, cozy spot with closely set tables and a large outdoor patio. The staff were warm and proud of their Jalisco roots, and answer my questions about the menu and how things were prepared. We began with bright guacamole and refreshing hibiscus margaritas rimmed with salt, pepper, and flower petals -- well-made, if a bit slow to arrive. My Carne en su Jugo was exceptional: thinly sliced steak and crispy bacon simmered in a rich tomatillo-and-serrano broth with onion, garlic, cilantro, and pinto beans -- a dish I'll remember. The carnitas were equally impressive: slow-braised pork shoulder finished on the griddle for crisp edges, served with beans, rice, guacamole, pickled jalapeños, and fresh tortillas. We're definitely adding Felipe's to our recommended places in Palm Springs.

Tried a Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs and it was honestly such a sweet little experience. The food was so flavorful and came out fresh, and you can really taste the quality in everything. The portions were perfect and super satisfying.

The food was ever delicious, very authentic! Service was also very great! Our server was nice enough to tell me about receiving a free drink if we posted them on IG. Oh, not to mention our server also sang my friend "Las Mañanitas" as it was her birthday! I truly appreciate him as he did make my friend feel special on her day! I really like how they also had outdoor seating definitely recommend and I will certainly be coming back!

We really enjoyed the fast service, quick seating, and delicious food. We really enjoyed the Tacos Lidia and the Shrimp Ceviche. The mango cocktail and Felipe's margarita were really tasty too. Very much enjoyed outdoor seating as well. Nice ambiance.

So so so good! Our bartender was fantastic and the food recommendations did not disappoint! We ordered the shrimp and octopus ceviche, and the quesabirria which comes with two tacos stuffed with cheese and birria and a side of the consume. Ask for the Serrano and habanero sauce if the salsa is too mild for you.

The husband and I popped in here for a quick lunch. This is a pretty small restaurant with about 10 tables inside. They have a good drink menu here and the prices are great for Palm Springs. My one big complaint is that our appetizer came out after our main courses. I really enjoyed my taco salad. It was the best I've probably had in California. They fry the shell fresh and the shredded beef was really flavorful. My husband enjoyed his AguaChile and their house salsa is one of my favorites...chunky with a little undertone of heat. Bonus points for them bringing out a whole bunch of their sauces to try. You can tell the staff actually like working here and care about the customers. The table next to us was a little bit wonky, and before the ladies said anything he was off, trying to get napkins to stabilize the table.

Everything was amazing here! My friend got the party private room for his birthday and it was a vibe. He paid $200 and it came with first round of shots and appetizers for the table. I also go a tamrindo margarita and passion fruit mojito. Both drinks were amazing. The steak was okay but I have had other food from here that is much better. Just got something basic this time around. Their tacos here are also great. Our server Mario was so cool. He was singing dancing and just so friendly. I love that type of service. We will definitely be back as we are locals!

Filete a la Diabla (white fish in spicy red sauce)

Really great food and exceptional service. I had the Filete a la Diabla (seared white fish in spicy red sauce) and it was delicious. It was Wednesday and half off margaritas. Woohoo. It's a small casual place in a shopping center with a patio with misters and a parking lot. I sat inside in the air conditioning. It's not a huge place but has a small bar and maybe 10-15 tables inside. Lots of locals and not in the touristy part of town. I'd go back!

Héctor the server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu recommendations. This was a few of the restaurants that I would revisit while in Palm Springs.

The carne asada was overcooked and tough. They offered to get me another meal but by that time my appetite was ruined. I won't go back.

Ask the Community - Felipe's

Do you guys have happy hour?

Hi! Yes from Monday-Friday 2pm - 6pm in the bar area :)

Are small dogs allowed on the patio?

Yes, there was someone there that had two little ones when we went.

Are there gluten free options?

I would imagine gluten free ingredients Of some sort but 💯 gluten free meals Are unlikely.

Is there any way to make a reservation?

I honestly don't think you need reservations unless u have a big group? 4 or more?

Does Felipe's do catering?

I believe they do

What is the number because the number listed isn't working? The 318 number didn't work

It doesn't work because they take the phone off the hook when they don't want to take phone orders. I used to frequent this place with all my co workers and now we can even order lunch because the phones always off the hook. Too bad, food is decent…

Do they use lard for cooking?

No, I've asked.

Do you have Taco Tuesday?

Yes!

But we were sat just as soon as we had arrived, and despite it being very hot out at the time, they had a bunch of shaded spots with misting fans. The drinks were fantastic, including mine which was a zero-proof mocktail. We all ordered different chicken dishes, and each one received high praise. I was able to try each of them and I was very happy with my fajitas, but I gotta give the nachos their dues. They were just as good. Chips were crispy all the way through, and not one was soggy from all the ingredients. Loved it, will definitely be back when I visit again. Id also like to mention that we chose this place as my friend's Bachelor Party closing dinner, and he couldn't have been happier. He was so thrilled with how the weekend had gone, that dining at Clandestino's really was the cherry on top. Thank you for making our dining experience such a pleasant one.

What drew me to this place was their carne asada plate, which comes with a generous portion of steak and all of the fixings to make your own bites. The flavors were great and the dish was as impressive as the pictures suggested. What really impressed me though was the octopus ceviche. Not only was it delightfully fresh and flavorful, the portion size was comically large which made it a great value. In fact, all of their dishes are generously portioned and can easily be shared. The restaurant consists of mostly patio seating which makes for a nice setting, but it can get a bit hot on a scorching palm springs day. But there's not a lot to complain about when sipping on a delicious tamarindo margarita while constructing the perfect taco.

The only positive is the decor,it's nice and has a cool Polynesian/mid-century vibe. That's where anything good ends. The service was terrible. We asked about specials as first-time customers, and our waitress conveniently failed to mention the Taco Tuesday deal. Instead, she rushed us to order. We later realized we ordered multiple taco plates that should have qualified for the special, but she never said a word. The food was even worse. I ordered fajitas, and what I was served was completely unacceptable,no vegetables, no resemblance to fajitas, just chopped chicken covered in chorizo and tomato sauce. It was disgusting. I took one bite and couldn't eat it. I planned to send it back, but the waitress disappeared and never came back to the table. I was stuck with it and only ate the sides, which tasted like reheated frozen vegetables and a small cup of beans. Despite barely touching the food and not receiving what I ordered, I was still charged as if everything was fine, about $22 for a plate I couldn't eat. When I finally addressed it, she insisted it was "fajitas," which is honestly ridiculous. To top it off, when my husband asked for a box, the waitress came back after handling cash and used her bare hands, with long acrylic nails,to grab his taco and put it in the container. That is completely unsanitary and unacceptable. Bad service, disgusting food, and poor hygiene. I will not be returning and will be reporting this place to the health department. Avoid this place. Warning Positive reviews are obviously coming from ownership friends.
