I was looking for something different for lunch on my last day in Harlem and stumbled upon Fieldtrip! The reviews were convincing, so I decided to give it a try. This place was literally a two-minute walk from my aunt's house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was nice and spacious with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I decided to take my order to go. I got the oxtail egg roll and the mambo-glazed roast chicken bowl. The egg roll was not as good as I anticipated. It was missing something, and I can't quite identify what that something was. The bowl did not disappoint, I really enjoyed it! Those crispy Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the bowl! I'll most definitely go back and highly recommend it.

I was here early on during the Field Trip wave and was happy to be part of it. Now I'm back with an updated review, though my visits have become less frequent than in previous years. In short, it seems that recipes, portions, and menu options shift over time in ways that leave customers holding on to the memory of those first great experiences--only to find it has slipped away. For the last five or so visits, the fish (which is the only thing I eat here) has consistently been extremely salty. The last time, I had to throw it away. The balance of rice and vegetables used to be even, but now it's more like 80/20--mostly vegetables. The greens aren't chopped well and are undercooked, making them harder to digest. This isn't a critique of the customer service or the staff, who remain kind and helpful. It's more of a reminder that things change--and not always for the better.

I had to come back here to eat my favorite rice bowl. This time I decided to dine in with my service pup and I'm so happy I did. The place is so clean and comfortable. The staff is quick and helpful always. I love that no matter how much time passes the food always keeps the taste I love! Next time I go I'll try to order something new just to explore but so far I'm addicted to my choice! HIGHLY recommend coming to this place.

    Chickpea Curry Bowl

I love this fast casual spot in Harlem because they offer a plant based chickpea curry bowl with available toppings like mango mash and pickled onions. We had an event so they made roasted brussels sprouts and baked falafel. What healthy choices for those of us who eat healthful plant options which is not typical in my neigborhood. Staff was super helpful and friendly!

I've been wanting to try Fieldtrip for a while now and it did not disappoint. It is black owned, and operated. My salmon was cooked well and all the vegetables in my bowl were delicious. My son ordered chicken and it was good. Service was great and there were seats inside if you wanted to eat in, but we took ours to go. I look forward to returning, and I would definitely recommend this place. I also would recommend going in and placing your order, Or you can eat there. I tried to call and order in, but that didn't quite work out. Inside seating is fine.

There's a camaraderie in the room that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly experience both the conversation and the food. Everything feels considered. My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The cilantro chutney was perfection, and the way the mint lingers alongside the spice... it's the kind of balance that only comes from someone who truly understands their craft. You can feel his care in every bite. I ended with the key lime pie, and all I can say is thank you. The whipped cream was fresh and airy, the lime zest bright without overpowering, and the crust tied everything together beautifully. It felt like a thoughtful, intentional close to an already incredible meal. I highly recommend starting with the guava mocktail, then pairing your main with the fig mocktail--both are perfectly crafted and complement the dishes so well. Also, sit at the bar. Let Dan guide you through the experience. Trust his recommendations--you will not be steered wrong. He elevates the entire evening. And the playlist? Y'all really did that.

We both had Brussel Sprouts, good, but the bites without the sauce did taste like bland Brussel sprouts. I had the lamb ribs, very good. They do warn you before that the ribs have a bit of fat on them, I think in the context of NY restaurant week I'm happy to pay it but as a solo entree, the amount of fat vs meat would have annoyed me. My friend had the duck, she enjoyed it. But it is very much salad with a side of duck, I believe she had 6 pieces of duck (pictured) and then a mango, arugula and onion salad. Dessert was very good, but I do hope those are not the usual portion sizes and maybe they just served smaller for NY restaurant week. Which I really didn't mind as I was full from the entree and sprouts. Servers were really nice, this place seems to have its regulars and a nice garden sitting area towards the back. Would overall recommend

We started with drinks. She ordered the passion fruit margarita and I went with the tamarind mango margarita. We were told the margaritas are made with a wine based cocktail instead of tequila or mezcal since the restaurant only serves beer and wine. We've never had margaritas made with wine before, which should have been our first clue to skip the cocktails. Unfortunately we were feeling adventurous and neither of us ended up enjoying our drinks. Mine lacked any hint of tamarind, had a subtle mango flavor, and tasted more like a mocktail. My friend said hers tasted like a tart beverage. We ordered the codfish fritters to start and they were a delicious appetizer. We shared the jerk chicken and pancakes and the plantain crusted crab cakes for our entrees. The pancakes were light and fluffy. Unfortunately the jerk chicken was a huge letdown. We were expecting authentic Jamaican flavors. As someone who grew up eating jerk chicken and has enjoyed the real thing in Jamaica numerous times, this wasn't it! I was also surprised to be served a chicken cutlet instead of an actual breast, thigh, or wing portion of chicken. We did not enjoy the chicken. The crab cakes were well done and topped with a stale tasting chip. The fried plantains that accompanied the dish were mushy. We did not enjoy this dish either. My friend ordered the housemade chocolate chip bread pudding, which she said had everything under the sun on it. She enjoyed it, but said it didn't taste like any bread pudding she had ever tasted. Overall, the restaurant's concept is cool, but not well executed. The service was good minus the delayed water glass refills. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were a huge disappointment!

The space itself is genuinely beautiful -- dim lighting, warm decor, and a moody, inviting atmosphere that makes it feel like a proper grown-up neighborhood spot. The service matched the room. Our server was attentive, gracious, and knowledgeable, and the front of house clearly knows what they're doing. The food, unfortunately, didn't live up to the rest of the experience. The pork chop arrived dry, which is hard to forgive on a cut that should be the kitchen's pride. The steak was competently cooked but unremarkable -- no real seasoning, no char to speak of, nothing that set it apart from a passable home-cooked version. For a restaurant at this price point, the kitchen should be delivering more. I'd happily come back for cocktails at the bar -- the n and the staff deserve that. But on the food alone, there are better options in the neighborhood.

It's a perfect date night spot to share deliciousness with a loved one. My friend and I shared three flavorful dishes-- a radicchio salad, the Confit Duck Leg and the Paccheri, a pasta with house- made pork sausage and broccoli rabe. The duck was so tender it fell off the bone. The pasta was intricate and tasted perfect when it was first served then veered a tad salty as it marinated (but still great). The salad was gorgeous on its own but even better accompanied by the mains. The duck was probably my favorite, but every bite complemented the next thing so well, that all of my senses were thoroughly engaged. The chocolate fondue was great and the poached pear was okay, we ended up sending it back because it wasn't what we expected, no biggie tho shit happens. Upon looking around that's when we noticed one of the chefs making a disgusting mistake. He was wearing the same gloves he used to wash dirty dishes to prepare foods we and the entire restaurant ate. Not only that but he was also eating the fruits he cut with those same gloves! Did I eat the germs off someone else's plate while he was washing the dishes? Probably! It's really a shame and a disgrace to this beautiful restaurant. To top it all off the server was also taking shots on the job and seemed to get more hammered with each shot. My friend and I were looking for a place for dessert and drinks, so we stumbled into the Cordial. I ordered the prosecco, and we tried the chocolate fondue and a pear dessert. The bartender took our order; he told us that the chocolate fondue came with seasonal fruits, which he told us came with bananas, strawberries, and apples. When he gave us the desserts, the fruits on the plate were nothing, he told us. It had mango, apple, and figs (my friend is allergic to mango), so she was only able to eat only the 5 little apple pieces that were on the plate, and the figs were very mushy. The pear dessert was not so great. So I asked the bartender if he could exchange the pear dessert for more fruits for the chocolate fondue. Again, it was random different fruits; the second round of fruits was figs, oranges, and grapefruit. Cordial is small, so you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. With that being said, you can see one of the chefs washing dishes with gloves on and then proceeding to eat a mango with the same glove and then preparing the meals he cleaned dishes and ate with. It was so unsanitary. I just got disgusted and disappointed quickly after watching him. The sad part is that I and my friend were super happy to find a chill place to go and hang out near where we reside, but unfortunately I'm not sure I'll go back.
