I really liked the overall atmosphere of this place. It was very family friendly on top of it being a nice bar. You could tell it could be a fun place, especially in the evenings. The hostess and servers and staff were very kind! It was a very clean restaurant & overall everything tasted great. As a deviled egg fanatic, there wasn't much flavor and I don't really recommend it for people who love deviled eggs. I loved my buffalo burger that my server recommended. She was very sweet. And my husband loved his A1 Wagyu burger!! - honestly the main reason why I'm giving a low rating is because we made it clear that we had gluten intolerance. Where we are oaky to use a shared fryer, but I just can't eat anything with gluten on or in it.. due to allergy. - so it was frustrating when we ordered the tater tots and was even served by someone who looked like the manager when our food was ran to our table.. we were a little worried about eating them because they looked a little different than normal tater tots and trust me they tasted really good, but it took about 20 minutes for me to start feeling itchy and breaking out into hives. - My husband and I both started getting anaphylactic symptoms like hives and bloating and swelling, and my husband's throat started getting scratchy so we had to leave abruptly on our train ride trip and head to a CVS to find gluten pills. It's frustrating because it really put a damper on the rest of our day and trip when we were feeling sick and swollen, and I had hives all along the left side of my back and I broke out on my face. It also made it difficult to ride our bikes being so uncomfortable and inflamed. - there were a few times at the server recommended gluten based items when we made it clear that we were gluten-free so I can tell there's just a lack of education in this restaurant for food safety. I feel bad because our server was really kind and very nice but I am frustrated that I'm now writing this even the next day with stomach pain, swelling and hives at work and my husband still feels very sick and bloated today as well. I'm a (once Elite) Yelpet, so of course I went over the menu before going and knew what I wanted before we sat down: onion ring tower (served with barbecue sauce, ranch, and salsa), ahi tacos, Bavarian pretzel (alongside cheese, caramel, and grainy mustard dipping sauces) , and Moroccan salad (add chicken) -- all of which were shared between two. Oh, and they serve the best iced tea... passionfruit/tropical! Everything was delicious, but certainly there was a ranking. In order from favorite-est to favorite: 1st Moroccan Salad with Chicken 2nd Onion Rings 3rd (Tie) Ahi Tacos and Bavarian Pretzel The design and layout is nice. I can see how it could be fun for a night out, watching the game, or live music on the roof (if they do that *hint hint*). It suited us just fine for a leisurely lunch on a Tuesday. Second time here & it's really good! The first time I only came for drinks and had the margarita flight which was super yummy! Today I had the strawberry Cadillac with the prime rib cheesesteak. My partner had the waygu burger & blueberry lemonade. EVERYTHING was delicious!!! eating at FINNEY's CRAFTHOUSE was a tale of two visits: the first was not very good and the second (about two weeks later) a much better experience. original draft for the first time eating there was three stars rounded way up from one and a half. the COCONUT SHRIMP appetizer arrived fifteen minutes before the entrees. the CHEESESTEAK EGG ROLLS showed up fifteen minutes after we finished dinner. kitchen's struggling to turn out edible food. servers seemed like good hires but were undertrained, a management problem. visit 1: CRISPY COCONUT SHRIMP are tricky and have several built-in frying challenges. if the oils too hot or they're fried too long, the sugar in the coconut burns. judging by multiple photos posted by other Yelpers, our experience was NOT unique. CHEESESTEAK EGG ROLLS (prime rib, caramelized onions, peppers, and fontina). rolls were pretty good but the two dips they came with were weird choices. why not extend the cheesesteak theme and serve 'em with a cheese sauce dip? ITALIAN CHOPPED salad (romaine, salami, provolone, cucumbers, garbanzos, peperoncinis, olives, tomatoes, parmesan and red wine vinaigrette) was just okay. weird having to eat a salad with a spoon. PEGGY's CRIPSY CHICKEN (pepper jack cheese, Fresno chilies, tomato, slaw and spicy aioli) with a pickle spear and onion rings was pretty good but hard to eat. bun fell apart and ate the sandwich with a knife and fork. my eighteen-year-old son ordered the BISON BURGER (smoked Gouda, bacon jam, cherry peppers, and mustard aioli with a pickle spear) and onion rings. I didn't have a bite but it got two thumbs down from the boy. his one word response (I did disclose he's eighteen, right?") is not postable, but I did remember he ordered it medium rare and it arrived well done which he made a point of showing me. visit 2: CHICKEN and WAFFLE BITES (buttermilk brined fried chicken with sriracha-maple butter) was pretty good. would have preferred the chicken AND the waffle bites cooked a little crispier as both got soggy in the sriracha-maple butter. inexperienced kitchen did not compensate for the temperature drop of the oil cooking multiple orders at once. same is true for the LOADED TATER TOTS (with bacon, cheese, peppers, and garlic aioli). pretty good dish but the tots were undercooked and not crispy. I would suggest skipping the BACON DEVILED EGGS (candied bacon, scallions, and sriracha). they were okay but there's nothing particularly special about them. FINNEY's CRAFTHOUSE has an interesting menu skewed toward finger food bar snacks (which is my preference) and a well curated beer list, but still very rough around the edges. pretty everybody working there from top to bottom needs LOTS of supervision and training. read more

Easy parking, free 2 hr parking near the restaurant or you can travel other streets for meter parking. The pastrami ruben was meaty and delicious and loved the fried potato tots. I was really disappointed on my last visit. I used to come here regularly when they opened and always had a great experience. This time, I found my favorite item (grilled cheese with tomato soup) was gone. Our server took 15 minutes to greet us and take our drink and app order, then just never came back to take our meal order. We asked the runner who brought that app out 20 minutes later and she seemed irritated with us for asking. Shortly after we flagged a manager walking by for some plates and he was incredibly kind and also took our food order. He came by to check on us and take drink orders again. Our server didn't reappear until our food order came out and we had already been taken care of by the manager. She was seen socializing with people who seemed to be her friends a few tables down. The main course wasn't as great as it usually is, my friend's burger was overcooked and my sandwich was a tad soggy. I'm not sure I'll be a regular here after but I do hope it was a one off odd time. read more

I had the Smoked Tri-Tip sandwich and some Tater Tots. The sandwich itself was good (not amazing) but it had way too much arugula and very minimal meat. Definitely very skimpy on the meat. The Tater Tots looked much better than they were, they were nice and crispy on the outside, but the inside was mushy. Not sure how they accomplished that, but it wasn't a good mix. We have been to the Redlands & Ventura locations. 1st time to this one very close to our house but never knew it was here. Impressive building that includes an amazing upstairs patio. Staff here are equally impressive and attentive. Now the food . We ordered a smoked Tri Tip on sourdough (excellent). And 2 wagu burgers. ( Both ordered med rare). One was great, one was well done. So be sure to insist it be cooked like you want it. (Especially a Wagu burger). Now the beers. Here in North county Hoppy , (IPAs, , Pilsners and Pale Ales) are the best anywhere in the country and the brewers strive to deliver hoppy , citrusy clean finishing brews. Other than Burgeon's Trevana we really didn't like anything offered here. Even their house Pale & IPAs aren't very good compared to what's available in North county San Diego. We were at Finney's "Ventura" a week ago. That location has a great variety of local IPAs & Pales that people come to Ventura to experience. All three of us who visited the "Oceanside" Finney's overall liked this place just hope the beer list would reflect what's popular in the local area a little more like their Ventura location does. No doubt we are spoiled by the beers made locally and look forward to coming back to a up graded tap list. To be fair, if your into Hazy's this location had no less than 4 or 5 of them on tap. It was good, not great. Came here for a birthday dinner as we wanted to try it out. We sat up on the rooftop around 5pm and the sun was just beating on us. It made our time pretty unbearable trying to eat hot food when it's so hot. I would recommended getting some screens or fans or something. We got the ahi poke nachos and the chips tasted stale and not enough poke for the chip ratio. Avocado egg rolls were interesting but the sauces that came with it definitely made them. Mango habanero wings were good I got a watermelon margarita because the menu said they make all the fruit juice fresh.... It was definitely not. It was your typical fake watermelon flavor. Super disappointing as I've had a true watermelon margarita before. I got a chopped salad with steak, good but the steak wasn't seasoned at all. Husband got the wagyu burger and it was good. My daughter enjoyed hers the most! Can't go wrong with Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. read more

We got deviled eggs and Bavarian pretzel which slayed, the Brusselsssssss dude...I think other locations mix the bacon in but I like how they put it on top or maybe they just put hella bacon.... Anyway it was really good. We also got Gary's pizza and I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND GETTING HOT HONEY ON THE SIDE. Wanted to check out this place for awhile Fun location and remodel Menu has lots of options for everyone ( including healthy options ) Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Surprisingly it was not crazy crowded below or for rooftop bar due to the time we came . We opted for outdoor rooftop and put our name down. The worry is that while we were waiting, noticed that there were several empty and clean / plated tables that were not being used and also several tables that were sitting dirty without being cleaned. We waited for 15-20 minutes not being seated in the ready to go tables and seeing tables left unbussed. read more

Came here for happy hour during the first week of opening on a Wednesday. It was packed and we managed to score a two-top table by the open windows. It was very bright, which should be good for the food photos! We ordered: * HH Chicken & Waffles - ($7) Excellent! Best I've had in ages and half price. * HH Peggy's Chicken Sammich - ($16) Also very good. Huge piece of chicken. * A5 Wagyu Burger - ($16) Can't really tell it's A5, but still a solid burger. * Truffle Fries - ($5) Standard. Can't go wrong! * HH Watermelon Smash - ($8) Basically vodka & kool-aid. Get a beer instead! * HH Finney's Red & HH Asylum - ($5 + $5) Both excellent! Asylum is like 12% ABV. Our server, Maribel, was awesome. We chatted quite a bit with her. NOTE: the bathrooms are downstairs in the back of the bar. It's a long flight, so if you're tipsy, use the handrail and be very careful! When it comes time to pay, there is no awkwardness like other restaurants that try to guilt you into tipping 25%. You pay by yourself using the small self-serve kiosk terminal on every table (similar to Yard House) and you can email the receipt to yourself! There was a general buzz of excitement in the air as people around us were settling in for this new restaurant in our backyards. Overall, we enjoyed it very much. We had a great experience here! We were seated quickly on a busy night, our server was attentive and kind, our food came out quickly, and everything tasted amazing! My husband and I came with some friends. We were able to try their chicken and waffles, loaded tots, wings, a couple burgers, and one of their pizzas. Everything tasted amazing!!! We did have one run in where the server misheard our friend's order and brought the wrong thing, but cleared it up quickly and comped his meal, which was super considerate. They also brought him fries while he waited for his burger to be remade. The restaurant was clean, trendy, and had a great atmosphere!
