We opted for seating on the roof. Weather was mild and slightly breezy. Lots of good stuff on the menu. I couldn't decide so I asked our wait person for their preference. Without hesitation she replied Pastrami Reuben. Do I ordered it. Fantastic! The sandwich is served with sauerkraut on the side as well as Sriracha ketchup. The pastrami is smoked on premises and sliced thin. It almost looked like bacon. Russian dressing, Dijon, on grilled rye made this so good! Served with a side of homemade kettle chips. I hardly ever right a bad review, but the staff here are completely senseless. We arrived with a group of 20, including kids. They told us the wait is 45 minutes to an hour. They accepted all kinds of walk ins groups of 4-5 ppl and after an hour of wait, we were told we have to possibly wait another hour. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes, even though they had plenty of space to accommodate us, they still made us wait. We finally gave up as we realized they weren't going to set up a table for us after the long wait. We walked across the street to a pizza place and they accommodated our group right away. And came with bacon, which my partner doesn't eat pork. Yikes. The boneless wings LOOKED good, but were mushy and gamey??? The burger was basic. Nice, helpful staff. Credit to them. We've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance to. I wanted to wait for the hype to die down and it seems to have because we only waited about 15 mins on a Sunday afternoon. There was lots I wanted to try on the menu but I'm trying to eat healthy so I ordered the Cobb salad and they let me add red onions. Yum. The salad was loaded with toppings. Would love for that to have come with a piece of bread. But probably better it didn't since I'm trying to eat more nutritiously. We also had the deviled eggs and loaded tots appetizers. Both were really good. Deviled eggs would def order again. Loaded tots was actually a small portion. Maybe like an app for 2 people. But it was still enjoyable and since we got 2 apps and I'm eating less it was fine for our group of 5. I tried the homemade chips as well and I loved those. Want to comeback and order my own sandwich with those chips. Fries were great too. Everyone seemed satisfied with their meals. My son had the tri tip sandwich, mother In law regular burger and my aunt in law has the chicken sandwich. My husband had the waygu burger and was not impressed. He's the only one who said he wouldn't wanna come back. Menu is one page. But still extensive so I would come back to try more. The iced tea wasn't the best but I guess they're more known for the cocktails. My son has the blueberry lemonade though and that was amazing. Maybe I can ask for an Arnold Palmer with the blueberry lemonade next time. We sat upstairs and it did smell like urine where I was sitting. No one else smelled it. I don't know if it was a dog as there were a lot of dogs there (sorry but dog friendly restaurant is a red flag for me; only reason I wouldn't make an effort to comeback - seriously so many dogs and disruptively barking the whole time, one of the staff members even seemed somewhat scared of one that was going off) smell could also be from the homeless that used to roam around.but we were upstairs and I can't imagine a smell carrying that far with no one else smelling it. 4 stars seems fair for this place. The food is good but not amazing. The service was friendly but they took way too long to clear our table in between appetizers, entrees and dessert so our table was pilling with dishes which was a little uncomfortable. You have to pay for fries extra they don't come with the burgers. I do think they have great kids meal options and like that they can play games on the tablet. Also nice you can pay on the tablet and not have to wait to leave. Would be a nice spot to sit at the bar and watch sports. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. For parties of 5+, this restaurant requires you to call ahead. We did exactly that. We called to reserve a table for 10 people (6 kids, 4 adults) because we were having a family dinner before my brother-in-law deploys, not a casual night out. We were told to come in 20 minutes and were explicitly assured our table would be reserved. We arrived on time with hungry kids, only to be told that the manager, Frankie, had given our table away. What made this experience truly awful wasn't just losing the table, it was the complete lack of accountability. At no point were we warned that the reservation might not be honored. When I confronted the manager, his response was essentially deflecting blame onto his staff, saying something along the lines of "I'll train my employees not to overpromise reservations," which is ironic considering he was the one who gave the table away. There was no apology, no ownership, no attempt to make things right. His demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional, and he appeared uncomfortable handling even basic confrontation. Frankly, it was shocking that someone with such poor communication and leadership skills is managing this establishment. I informed him I'd be leaving a Yelp and Google review, and he genuinely did not care, which says everything. This was terrible customer service from start to finish. I was tugging to eat it especially because I was starving. I gave up. Tots : seasoning was off on these 0/5 and they serve it with something other than ketchup. Looked like marinara. Beautiful presentation but not good. They were fried perfectly golden brown when I bit into it - It almost tasted as if they had some tots laying around and refried them because the texture was so off putting My sis ordered some salad without onions and they put onions. This place is great! Right next to the Oceanside Beach. If you go on Thursday for a day date you'll catch the Farmers Market. BUT Be careful you'll have to move cause the vendors have to set up for the evening Sunset Market which is also cool, if not you will get ticketed and/or towed. I had the yuzu boneless wings and my husband had the Wagyu burger. they seated us right away. The first floor was basically deserted and the second floor had a 30 minute wait so we opted to sit on the first floor. drinks came relatively fast and they had both mocktails and cocktails which was nice. Food took a really long time to come and when it arrived, they had gotten the wings wrong and delivered bone wings not boneless wings and by the time they fixed it, the boneless wings were room temperature. They told us that they had given us another table's wings when they swapped them out. Wings were OK the sauce had a nice kick to it, but the chicken tasted like it had been frozen for a while and it had a lot of gristle in it. Fries definitely tasted like they were frozen fries that have been reheated. I got the truffle fries and they were not good. For the burger, the blackened bacon on it was overpowering and masked the taste of the Wagyu - without the bacon it would have been a great burger. Ambience was great. I really like that it was quite enough that you could still talk but loud enough that you weren't hearing everybody around you, it was modern and it was cute. The rooftop is pretty cute and they have heaters which helps when the sun goes down. The first time going we were served by Kyra, I believe her name was. She was amazing and gave 5 star service. Didn't catch the name of our server the second time around but she did great as well. My only gripe I would have to say is, when you first get there it's not all that welcoming. It's clear they're not catering to the locals anymore--but if you're cool with paying more, the food and drinks are phenomenal. Like, 10/10 delicious. I've been to Finney's in Ventura and loved it, so when I saw they opened one in Oceanside I had to go. Went on a Wednesday afternoon and had to join the waitlist. We only waited about 20 mins and got a table upstairs. Our waiter was amazing, loved her, felt like I was talking to a friend the whole time. We ordered the Margaritas flight - I enjoyed trying the different flavors. The Onion Tower was so good - I almost finished the whole thing on my own. The waffle & fried chicken were yummy too. Chicken was nice and crispy! Overall, the ambiance was great. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves and I will definitely be returning. read more

We stopped into Finney's for lunch yesterday & had the absolute best service. Everyone was super welcoming and warm starting with the greeting at the door. The food was HOT & delicious & the manager was kind enough to send over a complimentary order of nachos that my mom had been eyeing from across the room! They anticipated our every need & brought a high chair for the little guy as soon as we made our way to the roof top. As the manager set the high chair up, he was kind enough to slide all of the straps over for an easy transition into the seat. Although, that may seem small to some... it was a huge gesture for this mama! 10/10 RECOMMEND. We were pleased to hear that they had recently opened in downtown Oceanside on Tremont St in the thick of things. We came for Happy Hour & we were very pleasantly greeted at the bar with the servers sharing their names & offering quick assistance Very chill atmosphere with large T.V. screens for game watching. Large upstairs covered patio. Very extensive food menu...Something for everyone! I like their Cobb salad. Husband had the mini sliders which were O.K. Carnitas nachos looked tasty next to us! Nice local beer selection which is visible & easy to understand. Cocktails looked good too. Both kid & pet friendly. Finney's is busy during peak hours. It got a bit too bright as the blinds were open & the sun was beaming in. Free parking lot next door. Lots of street parking. We came in tonight on Wednesday night. The food was OK but the service was really attentive and the beer selection is great. We got easy parking right outside. We got started with some Philly cheesesteak eggrolls, which I will say were delicious and then my husband had the Wagyu burger, which he ordered medium, and to be honest it was a lot smaller than what the photos on yelp would have you believe there was no bacon hanging out of it and it was a little bit overcooked. It was probably more like medium well which is how I preferred my burgers, but my husband, liking was a little bit of pink in the middle and it was definitely not pink. It was over like I said I got the pepperoni pizza with a little bit of a Caesar salad. I liked it because I love thin crust pizza, and the pepperoni cups were delicious but overall it's giving chain restaurant with great service which definitely has its place but I don't know if we would come back for food maybe just a quick drink definitely when it's nicer out go up to the rooftop, but this is a little bit of a mist for me despite our really kind waitress and pretty attentive service. I really liked the overall atmosphere of this place. It was very family friendly on top of it being a nice bar. You could tell it could be a fun place, especially in the evenings. The hostess and servers and staff were very kind! It was a very clean restaurant & overall everything tasted great. As a deviled egg fanatic, there wasn't much flavor and I don't really recommend it for people who love deviled eggs. I loved my buffalo burger that my server recommended. She was very sweet. And my husband loved his A1 Wagyu burger!! - honestly the main reason why I'm giving a low rating is because we made it clear that we had gluten intolerance. Where we are oaky to use a shared fryer, but I just can't eat anything with gluten on or in it.. due to allergy. - so it was frustrating when we ordered the tater tots and was even served by someone who looked like the manager when our food was ran to our table.. we were a little worried about eating them because they looked a little different than normal tater tots and trust me they tasted really good, but it took about 20 minutes for me to start feeling itchy and breaking out into hives. - My husband and I both started getting anaphylactic symptoms like hives and bloating and swelling, and my husband's throat started getting scratchy so we had to leave abruptly on our train ride trip and head to a CVS to find gluten pills. It's frustrating because it really put a damper on the rest of our day and trip when we were feeling sick and swollen, and I had hives all along the left side of my back and I broke out on my face. It also made it difficult to ride our bikes being so uncomfortable and inflamed. - there were a few times at the server recommended gluten based items when we made it clear that we were gluten-free so I can tell there's just a lack of education in this restaurant for food safety. I feel bad because our server was really kind and very nice but I am frustrated that I'm now writing this even the next day with stomach pain, swelling and hives at work and my husband still feels very sick and bloated today as well. Just a warning for people who are gluten free to probably either stay away or really triple check everything here. read more
