My family has eaten at Fiorella's in Newton many, many times, and we've had takeout from most of the locations, the full-on restaurant and the Express joints. It's always hit-or-miss, mostly hit, but the misses seem really avoidable, and therefore more frustrating in my book. For instance, the main entrees my sister and I picked up this past Monday evening were really good: she had the Chicken Marsala, I had the Eggplant Parmigiana, and I substituted ravioli for the linguine -- I LOVE this option, and super easy to do (substituting, getting more specific with fave or lesser liked ingredients) when ordering online. Now silly, I know, but both note that they come with garlic bread, and here's my first SO-avoidable criticism: whether we get one/two entrees, or five/six, inevitably in the bag are two or three dinky pieces of garlic bread, barely enough to go with one order, and that's all that comes in the bag no matter how many entrees we get. Garlic bread is PENNIES a serving, so c'mon guys, don't scrimp here, it leaves a bad taste, or lack of a taste, 'cause there's not enough to go around. The other avoidable complaint on this order: my sister also got the Caprese -- she LOOOOOOVES a Caprese, and if the ingredients are fresh, it's kinda hard to mess up a Caprese, but Fiorella's does. Traditionally a Caprese comes drizzled with olive oil -- Fiorella's has Italian vinaigrette AND balsamic glaze. She's learned to order it without the vinaigrette, but it's still coated with this glaze that's way too sweet, and it just ruins it, in our book. She keeps trying, 'cause she loves a Caprese that much, but I'd suggest just avoiding it. So, for those two minor reasons I gotta take a star off. Minor, but because they are so avoidable, it's almost like they're trying to ruin the otherwise wonderful food experience. read more

I have ordered from this place on several occasions. The past two times I ordered delivery on a weekend my food took 2+ hours. The pizza was cold and the salad was soggy and they would only reimburse me $5. Do not order delivery on a weekend. Wish I could rate this place better because the food when delivered timely is great. Disappointed. read more

We went to Firoella's but the line was out the door so we tried the express. Same food, less $$. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. My only negative point is they seem to skimp a bit on the chicken when you order a meal. Other than that, this is definitely a place we will revisit. read more

I have been going to Fiorella's (and Fiorella's Express locations) for years; and I usually get pasta dishes when in a pinch for something quick. I really enjoy the food, but I have been a little disappointed the last couple times I've gone. Just tonight I ordered the chicken marsala and got it home to find only 5 small pieces of chicken in the entire dish. For $12 I'm not impressed. This place is fast and the prices are right - and you get a lot of food. The pizzas are good, but I think its the calzones that really shine. My fave is the buffalo chicken calzone, I highly recommend it. Definitely something you could split between two people. It closes a bit earlier than I'd like though, and doesn't open till 4pm on Sunday. read more

This place has good pizza when you pick it up yourself. We have ordered twice from here now once on a Friday night and once a Tuesday. Both times the delivery was very slow ( 1hour) I can understand perhaps on a busy Friday but to get a delivery that is nearly cold and I live less than 10 minutes away is unacceptable. I salvage you a star on potential and one because all other pizza around my area is just aweful even slighlty cold and soggy this is better. read more

Fiorella's on Belmont St in Belmont has the best brick oven pizzas in the general area, but stick to the pizza, the short order cooks do not qualify as chefs. if you want to eat there, they have about six tables and are conveniently on the 73 bus line near School st. read more

I'm a frequent customer of this neighborhood favorite. They have excellent pizzas (including the Margherita) and calzones. My go to pasta dish of theirs is the very delicious Shrimp Linguini. Their garlic breadsticks are outstanding. I've also had their Italian Sub which was quite flavorful. The garden salads are OK for the most part. The service is quick and pleasant. I won't forget there was one rare time that my pizza order was screwed up and they were apologetic, called me back just as I got home (and before I realized the mistake) and offered me a free dessert. While nothing beats going to the real Fiorellas, this is a quality substitute. Dirt cheap take out conveniently located around the corner from my house with the same great taste as the original restaurant. The kicker is that it is dirt cheap. I have yet to spend more than $10 on a meal and have been more that happy each time that I go. Never hungry after a meal and their red sauce is just delicious. read more

ignore the review by heidi - she must be on crack to think that cafe fiorella is greasy compared to belmont pizza's greastastic crap! these guys do make a great pie.....at a nice price. only warning - they were sold to new owners recently - and i think the new guys are trying to cut some corners - the last few pizza's we have gotten have not been made with too much care - and have been in rough shape when the delivery guy got here...you know when the pizza box crushes on to the pizza and all the cheese sticks to the card board? yeh - that happened one time. also - one of the new delivery guys must have carried the thing sideways because once allof the cheese was on one side of the pizza.... if they cankick it back to the quality of a few months ago, befoer the old guy who owned it sold it, then this will remain a great pizza joint! otherwise they will lose loyal clients like mlyself to the new game in town, stone hearth read more

I'm tired of reviews that don't make sense I have been eating frequently at cafe fiorella's since my last review, and have got to know the owener's, and I must say Jesse B's review simply doesn't add up, Not once have I ever got the impression that the owner or anyone working there would speak like that. everyone there is very nice and polite. this is a must try establishment, Jesse doesn't make sense she says she ordered before and they brought food, but in her review she called and asked if they delivered there.......don't you think she should've known the answer in the first place, just sound phishy that's all. read more

I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Cafe Fiorella! They have the BEST pizza I've ever had. Fire baked, real ham cut onto the pizza (instead of the Canadian Bacon everyone else uses) and all around fresh toppings. I've order and picked up dinner a few times and always thought the food was good. But tonight I decided to try delivery. They quoted an hour which was understandable because of after work dinner rush, but after an hour and a half I had to call to ask for an update. Keep in mind I live less than a mile from this location. They said it was on its way and it arrived cold. Very disappointing and clearly and error either at the restaurant or a driver that didn't understand proximity priorities. Very unfortunate. read more

we've ordered for delivery a few times and the pizza is great. 3 small pizzas is more than enough for 2 people and the prices are very reasonable. there are a number of options plus the create your own ends up being a good deal too. great balance of sauce and cheese, with plenty of actual toppings including prosciutto, chicken, sausage, hot peppers, etc. the crust is thin and still a little doughy underneath the crisp. read more

The food here is good, fast and reasonably priced. This is a regular stop for me and I'm always pretty pleased.. the pizza is a great sleeping pill. Other favs are the chicken ceasar wrap, the meatballs, the chicken marsala, and the veggie lasagna. Everyone here is friendly and the new owners have added a flat screen TV which always features a Boston sports team when available. Thoroughly relaxing and a real wood fired pizza oven to boot. I give this one star because of a recent bad experience. Owner ship has changed from the original opening. The brick oven pizza is outstanding and the other food is passable. We ordered take out delivery. The items were, some sort of cold wrap for my daughter who is sort of a wrap connoisseur which she said was good, I got a steak and cheese sub which was for the most part luke warm because of the long wait for delivery. The sub would have been very good if it was hot, and the highlight of the sub was the Italian bread it came on. The deal breaker was my wife's selection of Fettuccine Alfredo. My wife gets Fettuccine pretty much avery time we order no matter the location or place so she is well versed on this subject, hers was cold, lumpy, and almost inedible! When we called to complain, they offered to send another one which they did and it was just as bad. We asked for a refund (before the second sending) of the Fettuccine (about 8 -9 bucks) and were flat out refused! I have never heard of such a thing. They said their policy is NO REFUNDS period! So for about an 8 dollar refund they have lost my and my families' business for ever. You should also know during the phone conversation about the refund the manager was rude and nasty. Conclusion, the Pizza is great, the food is OK, but the service suck BIG TIME! read more

For a take-out/delivery restaurant the food at Fiorella's is relatively reliable if you are look for decent Italian at home. Let's start with the apps. I have also had the Caesar salad with shrimp, which is almost always amazing. Not over-dressed, and the shrimp is perfectly cooked. The calamari (which is to be expected with delivery) is almost always over done and rubbery. The fried ravioli have a nice crispness without being overdone and dry, and I enjoy the marinara served as the side. For entrees I have had the chicken gnocchi fra diavolo, which is my go-to. The pasta is well cooked, sauce with a nice spice, and well portioned. The chicken can occasionally be dry (again... delivery), and sometimes the sauce a bit oily, but that can all be overlooked for flavor. The chicken and sausage piccolo is equally tasty. Well-sauced, healthy portion, and the pasta a nice al dente. Lastly, I have tried the meatball calzone. Though I don't love sauce in the calzone, it is cheesy, has a nice crust, tons of meatballs, and great flavor. There's a bit of excess cornmeal on the outside of the dough, but all in all, a solid choice. It won't blow your mind, but you will be entirely satisfied with a meal from Fiorella's Express. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS, I totally would. I am beyond livid right now. Last week, I was searching for somewhere to order from, and I came to Yelp to do so. I looked for places near Waltham, and I found Cafe Fiorella. I know that Belmont is the next town over, but wasn't sure exactly how far, so I called, and ASKED, specifically, if they deliver to my address (which I gave them) and was told YES. I called back when I decided what I wanted and I ordered. The food arrived, and it was relatively good, save for the antipasto, which was really a chef's salad with a peporocinni and a wedge of artichoke.... but overall, good stuff. I have diabetes, which normally wouldn't create an issue, but today, I was feeling a bit low and don't feel like cooking., so I called Cafe Fiorella, and I ordered for delivery. I was given a total, told I was all set, and that my delivery would be here in 30-35 minutes. Cool. That was at 5:10pm. At 5:35pm, I got a call from a cell phone asking me to "remind me where you are again, I haven't been there before.." and I told the dude where I was, and he sounded a bit older and kept calling me "dear" and it was REALLY CREEPY. Anyway, so I thank him for letting me know and say that I'd be calling to speak to the manager about that and I hung up on him and called the manager. I started speaking and the manager dude kept cutting me off LOUDLY when I was trying to explain to him that I hAD deliver from THEM before and that I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on. He screamed at me telling me I live in "east bumf*ck" and he can't be driving 20 minutes to deliver to me. He hung up on me, and I called back and again, tried to explain, firmly, but civilly, that I had delivery before and now he was losing business and food and the fact that he waited 45 %*&^)^ MINUTES to tell me he "couldn't deliver" when his driver was already out and about with my food was out of line. He screamed again, a lot and I told him he needed to stop screaming at me (at this point I was yelling at him, but he was literally SCREAMING and saying nasty, derogatory things to me) He hung up again. Please don't give this raving lunatic your business. ETA: Oh, and I goggle-mapped it. They are 5.3 miles away from me. If it takes 20 minutes each way, they must be traveling by snail. read more

Fiorella's is my go-to delivery place when I don't feel like making anything for myself. For the price the food is not at all bad, and if you're just looking for some warm Italian food Fiorella's is the place to go. Since they've renovated the restaurant itself is a nice place to be. With no more than 8 tables and a total seating of maybe 24 people, it's a cozy little spot on Belmont street to go with family or friends. I should say that, while their pizza is good, it's not league's better than any other place. It's pretty average, all things considered. However, it's hard to find the dishes they serve anywhere except at restaurants with unreasonable prices. "Fio's" - as we've come to call it - is a favorite among my friends when we're looking for better food than Subway or Nick's (we live in Belmont and have been to basically all of the counter-order restaurants). And, the people there know us as the "Napolatano crew", because at least two of us order it every time. Definitely try out their pasta dishes (my favorites being the Napolatano and Baked Gnocchi). I love Fiorella's Express. I've been ordering food from this location for about 3 years now. I would never rate this restaurant 1 star, but in regards to customer service...BEWARE!!! Brutally rude women working at this location. I think it's time for me to switch locations. I called this location to place an order for delivery and a woman answered. She was extremely rude to begin with; no proper manners. I proceed to tell her my address, located in Watertown. She then refused to even take my order because she claims they don't deliver to Watertown. This is weird to me because I've been ordering delivery from this location for years to Watertown & never had a problem. She then lies to me about working there for 3 years claiming they never delivered to Watertown. Side note, I live on the Belmont line of Watertown, this location is a good 5 minute drive from my house. Well, I hung up the phone and ordered online to my address in Watertown and everything worked fine! I am now enjoying my food, and thanks to a lying, rude, lazy woman; I'll never purchase from this location again. Fiorella's Express in Belmont - maybe reconsider your female employees! read more

I love their food, but their delivery service is HORRIFIC. I have had to wait 90 minutes-2 hours on more than one occasion to get my food. I'd safely say they have the slowest delivery service of any take-out restaurant in the Belmont/Watertown area. I suggest picking up your food or eating there. read more

They mailed a take-out menu to my house in the Porter Square, Cambridge area. The menu looked pretty good and we had eaten there before so I called them to order delivery. I asked them if they delivered in Cambridge (said they did on the menu). I was put on hold for a verrrrrry long time and then another chirpy voice picked up and asked if I wanted take-out or delivery. I said delivery and then gave her my address. She said, "where is that?" I said I'm in Porter Square. No response. I said it's kind of near West Cambridge (which is near Belmont where they are.) She said, well, we really only deliver to North Cambridge, not West Cambridge, kind of like around Fresh Pond sometimes to Harvard. Huh??? I imagined my dinner getting cold as a clueless driver drove all around Cambridge looking for my house. No thanks and it was clear they didn't want to do it anyway. So why send me a menu? read more

Heard great things about take out from Fiorella Express and decided to try it. Everything was overpriced and the quality of food was mediocre. We got pizza, pasta, and a salad. The lemon chicken pasta was bland-rubbery chicken, and not worth the $13 price tag. Overall disappointed and will not order again. read more

Food is good. I had a terrible experience with their delivery. I ordered via Foodler and received a promise delivery time of 7 PM. At 7:15 I called and was told I was supposed to have received a call saying delivery was 2 hours. I never received such a call. I canceled the order and complained to Foodler, who contacted Fiorella's. Their manager, instead of apologizing, told Foodler she thought I had accepted my earlier notification over the phone.
