The baked clams were the best I've ever had, the seasoning was like the freshest Michelin star Thanksgiving stuffing, I don't know how else to describe it but it was crazy good. Went here for dinner on a Friday. The place was already filling up around 530! We had a reservation for a table at the bar area. It felt a little tight cause of the setting but we managed. We got here in time for another 30min of happy hour half off bites and some drinks. The pineapple punch was pretty sour for me! I got the espresso martini and really liked it. We ordered truffle fries, tuna tartare, zappole and meatballs for appetizers. The fries were amazing and I also really enjoyed the zappole! I ordered macaroni alla vodka and the sauce and flavor were just right. I'm personally not a big fan of seafood but my friends got the lobster diavolo and the king crab linguine and they liked it too. The food, service, and atmosphere are exceptional. I went on a Saturday night with my friend for a 7:45 reservation, and the place was packed & there was a constant flow of people. We waited at the bar for a few minutes before our table was waiting - you can really take in the pretty atmosphere. It's dimly lit and the space felt luxurious. The dining room was lively and they have a lot of showmanship with some of their dishes - they make the Caesar salad table side and also light a steak up with fire (and tons of butter and rosemary yum). Came for a friend's birthday. wow I knew it would be a vibe but upon walking in I was so impressed with the ambiance! The bar was so cute and the chairs were large and comfy, the red light behind the bar (illuminating the bottles) was just so pretty to look at. Our bartender was amazing I wish I got his name even lit his phone flash so I could get a good video of the drink he made for my friend. The cocktails are amazing I tried Rhuby martini, nice and easy & the Campania spritz all so delicious (dangerous). I had the alla vodka pasta I believe it was called and just wow it was so delicious and filling I actually only ate half and saved the rest for later which was just as good! I'm still thinking about this place and will definitely be back. While the dim lights and music playing were great vibes to be in - the food was a little lack luster for the price. Service was great and the drinks were nice, but again for what you're paying for....in this economy.... Firstly, the chicken was nicely cooked, juicy and lovely sauce. The salmon was nicely cooked as well and had good flavor. The NY Strip was beautifully cooked but unfortunately tasted like...nothing. There seemed to be no salt or pepper on it. The only flavor was from a char which was one note. For a steakhouse, for the chicken to be better than the steak is a little upsetting. For starters we had meatballs and the baratta, both tasty. Then a Caesar salad which would've been perfect had they used less dressing. I only ate about half bc some of the lettuce was wilted and soaked beyond personal liking. If you like a Caesar, ask for the dressing on the side! The drinks were tasty but small and for $20 a piece, whew. The chocolate cake was great but you could tell the fridge is super cold with how stiff/hard the outside frosting was. Letting a cake sit out for 3-5 min to defrost a little would go a long way before serving. The sides were good, nothing special. Had the mashed potatoes and broccolini. We didn't get it because my husband does not like salad but it's a nice touch. The Server was welcoming, kind, and just very helpful and explained everything well. I went in thinking I was getting a pasta dish but we ended up getting the plate for 2 which includes, I believe a New York strip and a filet mignon. A very good amount as well and the filet just melted in the mouth, it was amazing! But honestly, my favorite was the mash potatoes. The mash was so indescribable, to me. Unfortunately the Velvet Room wasn't open. I believe it isn't available on Sundays, so that was sort of a bummer. On the upside, the service was great! I really like the ambience of the restaurant as well, especially the fun mirrors on the way to the bathroom! We started off with some glasses of wine and East Coast Oysters! I have never been offered the option to have either West or East Coast Oysters so that was a cool experience! For our entrees we ordered a Steak, I believe it was Filet Mignon. It was cooked well, it was slightly overdone for what we wanted, but it was still very flavorful and easy to cut/chew (so definitely not too far). Additionally we ordered the Macaroni A La Vodka and a side of Broccoli! Everything was super delicious! We were pleased with the portions and quality of food! Something told me to make a reservation yesterday but I was running around busy and didn't listen to that little voice. I called today to try and make a reservation and they told me they didn't have anything available until after 11pm which is absurd. They only had hunger games style bar seating which is one of my biggest pet peeves at restaurants on top of street parking when you're paying so much money at one of these fancy spots. I sat at the bar and ordered my wine and chicken Parmesan. I've had $20 chicken Parmesan that is way better than what they served. It was an oily basic dish that was very unimpressive. Some of the edges were a bit too crispy, and you can tell the marinara sauce was not jazzed up much. When I eat chicken Parmesan or even marinara sauce in general I want a rich garlicky blend of herbs and spices and I definitely did not get that. It had a bit of tang but that's about it. The three positive things I can say were that my food came out really fast and was at a nice temperature, it had a good amount of cheese, and the size of the dish was great. Save $40 and support a local Italian spot, it's not worth the parking and price hassle. read more

Chicago's food scene has come a long way. Fioretta, which is a candidate for best-ever meal for any suburbanite, will be viewed by Chicago yuppies as a duplicative cross between Swift & Sons and Adalina. In terms of pageantry (sparklers and dramatic table-side preparations), it mimics Lyra, another restaurant by DineAmic just a few dozen paces away. I love to see stuff like this but Fioretta's ambitious expensive concept is mired by the sad reality that there probably aren't enough top tier waiters in Chicago to staff all the restaurants of this caliber. Not to say service was awful but we were served wine by the glass without being told what it was and there just wasn't the warmness or congeniality that I'd expect at this price point. Also there were minor annoyances like the ribeye being priced at $89 then being charged at $94, as well as a 3.5% junk fee pre tax. Nearly a $500 tab for two--delicious, but at such a price I'd prefer the congruence of tasting menus. read more

I went to dinner here last night for a friend's birthday. Firstly, I want to say whoever was answering the phone was very rude in tone. When we were seated, our server was more avoidant than most, she did keep our glasses full though and allowed me to make a last minute change to my order. I ordered a 10 oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes and a caesar salad. The salad was good. They messed up my steak- it was very tough for a medium well steak. I sent it back and it came back dry and well done. By then, all of the other people at the table had finished eating, and I no longer wanted the steak. I was offered pasta I have yet to touch. We were at the high top tables by the bar area. Everyone who walked past ran into me and the tables were small. It was also extremely loud in there on top of there being a live band. Our waiter was amazing though. For starters we got the tuna tartare and Caesar salad. We had never tried tuna tartare and it was delicious. It had really great flavor, wasn't fishy and easy to chew. People with texture problems I think would be okay with this. The Caesar salad was great also. The croutons seemed to be made in house. Next we got the dry aged steak, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Let's first say the brussel sprouts were amazing! I could've just ate those and been fine. The steak was good but nothing fancy about it or anything to rave about. It came with seasoning on the side that you could sprinkle on and a white sauce that was mayonnaise base. The seasoning gave the steak more flavor than it had prior. It was cooked to perfection though. We ordered it medium and it was so easy to cut through and chew. The mashed potatoes honestly tasted like box potatoes to us but our waiter said he loved them. It was sooooo loud and overpriced, I would not go again. I understand this is the kind of place where you know how much you will be spending, but you would think for that price you get more food. Additionally our server was extremely pushy in trying to get us to order way more food. Keep in mind we ordered 3 appetizers, 2 pastas, a steak, a bottle of wine, and 2 cocktails. The meatballs were absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth. The wagu cannoli was delicious, but VERY small, and the octopus carpaccio was good but overseasoned. As for my steak, I personally didn't enjoy how charred it was, it felt a little over-charred and took away from the taste of the steak, especially for the price. I had the best time at Fioretta! The space feels very elevated with the staff in bow ties, the low ceilings and the coziness of the dining room we were in made it feel very romantic and warm. We had the oysters to start and this is a personal preference but I think I like east coast oysters more. After that we had the Caesar salad. YOU HAVE TO GET THE TABLE SERVICE CEASAR SALAD. It was awesome. Probably my favorite part of the entire experience. We also had complimentary bread service as well. Kansas city strip and the dry aged ribeye. Both were good but not my favorite. The table preferred the Kansas city strip! The crab linguini was awesome as was the vodka macaroni.
