Went to dinner w friends. Found bug the size of edamame in salad. The bug was still alive drowning in salad dressing. The manager said it was the second time in 2 weeks that this had happened. Blames it on food distributor Cisco. Said he would take money off bill. Didn't take money off. When addressed w manager he took another half hour to fix bill and then only took the salad off which was $8. A dollar a person. Will NEVER eat here again. WARNING BUG in salad. read more

I Tried it for the first time, pizza was good, service was horrible. Waiter didn't offer us a refill, never made a conversation with us not even welcome guys nothing, during the time I was there never even smiled maybe he didn't like his job. Very pleasant surprise! The fresh mozzarella caprice app was the highlight of the meal. Happy hour was kind of a let down with only $1.00 off domestic beers. Pizza was a light thin crust pizza cooked to perfection. Will be back. read more

Eggplant stuffed with ricotta for an appetizer was a hit for us. Wish I could recall what it is called on the menu. Our party of three looked over all the pizza offerings. The pizza is delicious! I love it! It's a bit pricey I paid $16 for a large cheese, but it is worth it. One thing I was confused about was the pricing situation. On a Friday night I got a large cheese for $16 and the next day I got a large cheese and they said it was $18. Maybe they charged more bc I went later? Not exactly sure. Amazing...yummy! We came for brunch. I had the breakfast pizza. It was perfect. It was the perfect balance of eggs, cheese, olive oil, and bacon. The crust was perfect. I couldn't help taking a few bites of my son's blueberry pancakes. They were just about the best I had ever had. They tasted like blueberry donuts. Utterly delicious! Lastly, my husband had the Mackenzie Rose pizza. He loved it. There wasn't a piece left. Taylor, our waitress, was great. She was attentive, and gave great advice on what to order. I live in the neighborhood, and this is a constant stop for me! I have to follow a gluten free diet, and their gluten free pizza is the BEST I have had anywhere. We had a difficult experience at this restaurant. Four couples enjoying a Saturday night out when we discovered a moving beetle in the salad. We informed the owner who captured the critter in a plastic case while commenting that this wasn't the first time and that they have been having issue with their supplier. I like this place. Been here twice and had a good time both of them. Not many pizza places have a traveling fire truck with a pizza oven inside of it. The atmosphere is classic and fairfield-county-y, if that's even a thing. It feels like fine dining at regular pizza house prices. The service is pleasant and the pepperoni and buffalo chicken pizzas are worth the trip. My favorite?, the axe door handle. read more

The pizza is exceptional. We have tried several but I especially liked the Sundsy a Dinner pie. I also tried their lobster roll but I guess I like the lobster rolls done with mayonnaise. I know.... It's not everyone's idea of correct but I just could not enjoy it as much being hot with butter. But... The lobster itself was very good, as was the fries that came with the double roll order. Have been here for Happy Hour and drinks and light food were fine. Conversation possible and bartender great. Last night we went later for dinner around 8:30 We were seated at a table and left after we each had 1 drink. It is a noisy place to begin with but after we were at our table about 15 minutes the music was blasting and the poor waitress was shouting over it trying to tell us choices of beers. Then I see $33.00 veal chops on menu-I expect at least be able to converse for those prices. The short time we were there a party of three came in and were about to sit down at their table and one person put hands to ears and they left. Went today for my first time. I'm from New York where the pizza is the best. This pizza was very good, I would think I'm eating NY pizza. For appetizers we had the firehouse fries which were nice freshly cut fries cooked to perfection. They would go great with any burger or steak sandwich. We also had the house made mozzarella fried. The mozzarella tasted fresh and delicious. They stuff the mozzarella with roasted red peppers, garlic, basil and spinach, this is something i've never had before and really enjoyed it. The pizza was amazing, some of the best buffalo chicken i've had. The spinach and artichoke pie was amazing too but be careful is does stay very hot, which they warn you about. The staff is friendly, quick, and awesome. They had noticed my water was getting low before I ever said anything about it, which is great especially considering one girl was playing waitress for 4 tables, and serving food and drinks at the bar as well. She ran the whole show and did it well while keeping customers smiling and never waiting. I want to go back and definitely will next time I am passing by. read more

It was our first time we had dinner at Fire Engine Pizza. It was a Friday night and we sat at the bar for dinner. We ask the bartender what he recommended on the menu and said the two lobster roll dinner was excellent. So we order the two lobster roll dinner and a large combine pizza. Once the pizza was delivered the customer next to us requested I give him a slice of our pizza. I promptly said no and he looks at me with surprise and what to know why. I responded by saying I do not know you and if you where my friend of course I would give you a slice. He still demand a slice and I said what is your profession and he respond I don't know. He told us he waiting for his wife and he was getting laid tonight. The pizza was average and the sauce was lumpy which surprise me because they noted for high quality pizza. The lobster roll was tough and old and the french fries where cold/ under cooked but the beer was excellent. I am a nice person and respectable to others but when the bartender ask us how was the meal, we responded with the truth, he just walk away. So our bill was $57 and I drop down $70 and the bartender ask if we what change. Okay did he think he was going to get a substantial tip for an average meal? I have been to many bars and restaurants all over the country but this was a disappointment. read more

I've always said that you can't really screw up pizza, but these guys go the extra step. I don't know what they put in those things, but you really can taste the quality. First off, I remember when Marty only had his fire truck that also happened to be a pizza oven parked right outside of their "soon to be" store location around midnight on the weekends. It was last call and I would be getting out of what used to be called "The Field" and stumble my way over to the truck to grab a $20 bacon and onion pizza. Although it was pricey, it was one of the best pizza's I've ever had. I really enjoyed their pizza and atmosphere when they first opened but recently, I've been really disappointed. I don't know what happened but their pizza has been going down hill ever since. I don't know if whether they are going through some changes but they seem to have cheapened their money maker. I've seen other pizza places do this and they lose customers. If I were him, I would go back to his roots where he grew that business instead of cheapening out their product. At this point, I don't think I'm going back again. I was severely intoxicated last time I went and even then, the pizza sucked. read more

i was really bummed when marty's closed a few years ago, then really excited when they merged w/ the brick oven place down the street. then i was REALLY bummed when that burnt down. in the interim, i wasn't crazy about the pizza truck, the two pies i got from there just didn't taste the same as marty's for whatever reason. got a cheese pie from the new restaurant last night and it instantly reminded me of marty's of old, if not better. my bronx native fiancee raved that it is as close to NY pizza as she has had around here. glad they are back in business. read more

I read the reviews for this restaurant, and considering there glowing quality, decided to try it out. I arrived on a weekday night at an almost empty restaurant. I was served fairly quickly, but I then had to wait at least forty minutes for what I believed would be eggplant rollatini. Apparently, their version is cheese manicotti with no eggplant in sight. The beef tips - Amazing. Soup , comforting until we meet the spring again. Pizza taste as good as it smells. Ridiculously hard to resist. The appetizer menu has a great variety when you want to snack with a friend. Service is prompt and helpful. Haven't yet sampled entrees ; but trust ; I'm on my way. I love to have my meets and lunch with clients, and this is the spot. Girls , bathrooms are spotless and in general a clean environment. Bring your kids, the dining area nicely separated from bar .
