Is there such a thing as a sandwich dive? Tucked into a shopping center is Firehouse Subs. About six tables with a drink machine and restrooms. It's the first time I've been here. Plenty of good looking sandwiches, salads, and even kids meals. The walls are filled with firehouse equipment and photos. I came in at about 10:00am and the place was clean, country music was playing, I was immediately greeted. My food was ready in about 5 minutes. The sandwich was pretty good. They are cutting back on their meat. When I called the manager she said that wasn't the case. I ordered extra meat and there was less meat on mine than my wife's regular sandwich. Have used this sub shop many times in the past. Usually place my order about 15 minutes before I would drive over and it would be ready when I got there. However, this last time I have to say that they had gotten an order for like 25 subs. They expect you to wait 30 minutes, to finish that order first. They wouldn't work your order in which I thought was unreasonable. I asked to have my money refunded because I didn't wanna have to wait another 20 minutes after already placed the order 20 minutes earlier, but they refused to refund. The subs are good better ingredients in Subway® and generally they're pretty fast but I'm not willing to wait 25 minutes for fast food. I can go to actual restaurants. Sit down and be comfortable for that amount of time. read more

Our last order from the Alta Mesa store in Fort Worth, TX reminded us why we don't like Firehouse. The bread was already wet and inedible when we got it home. Both sandwiches were just not good at all. The sandwich bread couldn't hold up with the mayo, lettuce, tomato and onions. If you pay 10.00 plus for a sandwich, the bread needs and must be sturdy for the meat, cheese and condiments. read more

Poorly made sandwich and when I brought it to the staff's attention, basically asking them to toast it (as was asked previously) the manager says they can't take things back across the counter. Worst treatment ever. I understand it was busy but a simple request totally went south. Online, there was no option to get grilled onions and jalopenos on the side for 4 of my sandwiches. When I arrived, they were fixing to start making my sandwiches. So I just simply requested sides of grilled onions and jalopenos for those 4 sandwiches. Checking the sandwiches once I got them, they had put the grilled onions and jalopenos on all 4 sandwiches. 2 of them I could keep them on it no problem. The other 2 though, one person is super sensitive to heat and the other was for my pregnant sister. So I took only the 2 sandwiches to the counter and asked them to remake them with the jalos and g.onions on the side. I waa then told, they have me on recording telling them to put them on the sandwich by the girl who claimed she was teenager at the time. , 1. She was not the person I talked to about my sandwiches. 2 She had not left that line since I arrived, so how would she have had time to listening to a recording. 3. No where on there entrance is there a sign saying I am being audio recorded. Visually I get but audio. That is not ok. She then proceeded to tell me that she called her GM and the GM told her that they could remake my sandwiches, but that they would be put at the back of the line. That was 20 sandwiches deep. I don't get how she could of had time to call her GM considering she never stepped off the line from helping her crew make all the orders they had. Coming from the food industry, I know for a fact that's not how that goes. The employees messed up on a customer's order, whether that customer was right or wrong, that food gets made first so that they can get that person out of there as soon as possible so the other food they may have, doesn't goes bad. When I finally got the other sandwiches, it had taken them 30 minutes to do it. When I got home, the other 2 sandwiches that I didn't ask them to remake were soggy and cold. Bread was totally un-edible. Also when leaving, they handed me another bag with the remakes, I said Thank You and they just turned and walked off. I then asked if the side of jalos and g.onions were in the second bag and they very rudely yelled yeah at me. Got home, they weren't in there. I don't know were this manager on duty did her training, but she should not be a manager. The way she treated me because of something her employee got wrong, was unacceptable. It was not my fault and being treated the way I was by her was unprofessional. I have never complained about them getting something wrong with my order which happens quite often. The one time I have to get something fixed, I get treated like garbage. I started coming g here because I thought I got my money's worth for a sandwich. I don't think I will be going back after the treatment I recieved from them getting my order wrong. This was unacceptable and that manager didn't believe me when I said I will be contacting the higher ups of management. Let's see what happens because I already have started that process. read more

Tried to place an order at 12:30. I was asked to hold. Six minutes later I hung up. When I called back it said Karen's voicemail box was full. More than 10 calls back. I drove to the location thinking they must be really busy. Maybe a dozen people total. I asked to speak to the manager. It took a few minutes as she was jacking her jaw. Came in today after placing an online order. We were on our way out of town and needed a quick bite. The pickup time was fairly quick and the food was ready when they said it would be. The staff saw me walk in and guided me to the pickup orders right away. No waiting involved! For lunch, I ordered the veggie sub and my husband ordered the premium roast beef sub (both warm subs, with olives added). Both sandwiches were very tasty and seemed to have very fresh ingredients. I definitely also recommend their brownies if you're in the mood for something sweet. They're so good! In regards to the COVID situation, they require all customers to wear masks and enforce social distancing guidelines. The staff ask uses gloves and masks. They have a dine-in option as well as pickup, no delivery. We're not usually in this area, but would gladly come back if we're passing through again. read more

Went there 10 mins before close because I've never had firehouse subs before and I was excited to try it out, just to see that all of the lights are off and nobody is there. This is bullshit and completely ridiculous that this location doesn't stay open until its actual close time. If the owner, manager or employee reads this; eateries already don't stay open late enough as it is now a days since the pandemic, don't add to the disappointment and close before your listed hours of operation. I had heard mixed things about this place. Needing to decide for myself I put everyone in the car and this is where it stopped. 2 hook & ladders and 1 tuna. We all agreed way better than Subway. The steaming of the meat brings out a different flavor. It was a nice surprise. Hubby was impressed by the amount of meat on his sandwich. I heard people say it was pricey but I beg to differ. Our combos were no more than another sub shop we go to across town. Next time I would skip the chips because for me I don't need them with my sandwich. Looking forward to a return trip to try the meatball sub. On another note they have the big drink machine that has all the flavors you can make. They steam their meats. At first this sorta sounded gross to me. I almost expected soggy, limp, lifeless subs. Surprise! I must like this method because we frequent firehouse more often than anything else in the area. Founded by firemen, I find the concept of the place super cute. Not sure that firemen would like to be referred to as cute, but it works. Each restaurant has 30 or so hot sauces for you to try out as well, and they are labeled with a number scale indicating their hotness. I do wish that some locations would take note of their inventory a bit better, because sometimes the selection has seen better days. Gross crusty tops and openings, and near empty bottles. I like the sauce that is on the table, which you can buy a bottle of your own. I've liked each sandwich I've tried so far, but I think the Hook and Ladder is my fav! One blah point about firehouse, they have those huge, 900 drink customizable, one spout soda machine. I HATE THIS THING. The soda never really tastes right, and if the person got something gross before you, you're sure to get a few lingering blasts of it if you don't let it run for a little bit first. Drove up and parked in the first open parking spot right in front of the store walked in and place my order after a little bit of a wait. After placing my order I payed $12 for sandwich and chips and they took a little bit of time to get it out to me but hey it was a relaxing Sunday. As I'm eating my sandwich I hear my trucks alarm start going off to find out their patio umbrella caught the wind and took flight then crashed into my brand new 2015 truck and caused $2000 dollars worth of damage. So I walk out as the store employee removes the umbrella he apologizes and says I'm so sorry this has happened before and there's supposed to be a metal pin in place to prevent the umbrella from being pulled out from the fixture and flying away like this but we put the pin in. So now I payed $12 for a ok sandwich and a brand new truck with an estimate for $2000 worth of damage because they can't secure an umbrella. I've been dealing with their insurance and trying to get my truck into the body shop but they are being difficult to stay in contact with and don't seem to be making it much of a priority and every time I call it goes straight to voice mail. read more

SOOO GOOOD!!!! We have been on a firehouse kick lately. Their sandwiches are on a completely different level, compared to Subway! I love their Hook & Ladder Sub!!! It is sooo good! Their bread is always fresh. They pile on the meat, not like the two or three pieces you get from the other place! They add just enough fresh veggies, and the deli mustard and mayo combination is a perfect compliment to the sandwich. Eat it in the resturant, while it is nice and warm!
