My mother had a bad experience today. Not only was the service manager rude to her, but she was told her tire could not be fixed, and they would need to order a new one and that it would cost $75. While the tire was being ordered she decided to go to Big O Tire, one of the many other tire stores in our community. At Big O Tire she was taken care of with honesty and professionalism and told her the tire was repairable and they patched the tire at no charge. In the meantime, Firestone called to let her know her tire arrived and that it was going to cost $150 instead of $75 she was quoted. Firestone, you need to realize you have a lot of competition in our community and you can't take advantage of older people. You should treat people with dignity, respect, honesty and professionalism if you want our business! read more

Today I went in with my 2012 VW Tiguan for a simple oil change and now I am sitting in my car waiting for a tow truck to pick up my car. All was usual, waited about an hour and a half in the waiting room until Adam called me up to the counter to wrap things up. He proceeded to tell me that all was good and mentioned that they didn't realize my car needed a different type of oil filter because of the model. I paid for my services and left. As soon as I turned on my car the "needs service" light went on so I went back inside and told them that it needed to be adjusted. Adam directed me back to my car to meet a technician and as I did there were two technicians looking on their phones on how to reset the light. Bailey stated "I found a 25 second video" to the other technician and got in my car. He proceeded to roughly turn my ignition on just about twenty times. He seemed to be frustrated but kept doing the same routine over and over again. I started to panic and told him to stop and that I'll have my husband reset the service light. He just said "sorry" with his head down and walked away. No reassurance, no effort to find someone who did know, no acknowledgement whatsoever. I drove home and sure enough my ECP and engine light came on as my car started shaking, I pulled over to a gas station and my car completely turned off and now it will not start. Not sure if it was the attempt to reset my service light or the lack of knowledge of VW automobiles but either way it is unacceptable. I've never had a mechanic look up how to do something on YouTube right in front of me like that. It was all very strange. I've been to other Firestone locations with excellent service. I will not be returning to the Brea Firestone location. read more

My husband recently got a flat tire and decided to go to Firestone for a replacement, since they informed him they could order the tires he needed before the end of the day (he has a sports car, so his tires are a bit more difficult to find than your average tires). We dropped off his car off around 11am and they took about an hour to assess the tire, as they were trying to determine whether or not they could just patch up the rift or if they needed to replace the whole tire. Upon completing their assessment, they noted there was a nail on the edge of the tire, so they would have to replace the whole tire, which they noted would only take an additional hour. Lo and behold, 5pm rolled around and we still hadn't heard back from Firestone yet. Out of concern, we called them back to inquire about our car and they noted that the tire had literally just come in around 5pm and that they would ensure the tire got put back on by close of business, since they close at 6pm. We arrived at Firestone at 5:50pm, paid for the tire, and were ready to go... when my husband tried to start the car and it wouldn't start. I immediately asked the representative to take a look at the car and he sheepishly admitted that when they had tested the battery during the tire installation, it had "tested low, but not low enough for us to think this would happen." This was pretty unsettling to us, as we were then forced to leave our car sitting outside overnight, my husband was then stranded from work for an additional day, and on top of that, we pretty much had no other option but to pay Firestone additional money to replace our car battery, considering there was no other way to move it off the lot otherwise. In sum, our entire experience was deeply disturbing and suspicious in many respects, considering the original tire work was not ready within the timeframe promised, we were not given any updates throughout the day, and the tire ended up costing us a lot of money (almost $300!), despite the fact that Firestone claims they price match. To make matters worse, the battery situation was horribly inconvenient and seemed like one big ploy for them to force us to pay more money, as our car is literally only two years old, so it seems highly unlikely that the battery would die that easily, unless... Firestone purposely did something to cause the battery to die, so we would end up in such a bind. Furthermore, when we finally did receive our car back two full days later, we discovered Firestone had scratched up the rims on the tire that was changed out in the process of swapping out the tire. I guess I wasn't surprised in the least that this occurred, considering it seemed like they rushed the tire changing process on the first day we dropped off the car, since they underestimated the delivery time for our new tire and overestimated their ability to adequately complete the job in a timely and responsible manner. On a side note, I was also disturbed by the fact that Firestone failed to address whether or not we needed to change out all four tires instead of just one tire, as failing to change all tires as needed can potentially cause severe damage to a car. When I inquired further, they assured me that the tread on the tires was close to the threshold, but missed it just slightly enough that we could get away with only changing out one tire - although in retrospect, now I'm not sure whether or not I can even trust their opinion, considering our poor overall customer experience! The entire experience from start to finish was anything but pleasant and I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND this Firestone location to anyone, or any other Firestone location if they're anywhere as shady as this one. I'm really distraught and will be reporting this incident to Firestone's management, as well as escalating this issue to other agencies for consumer awareness. Buyers, beware! read more

Noticed an unusual smell coming from in my car. My Car amp stereo had gotten moisture inside it and began a electrical short super heating the amp. This was the closest place. I came to the Brea location for a tire patch. There seemed to be a problem with the online appointment I made not being registered in their system. The auto care advisor said it wasn't a problem and his team would be able to help as soon as possible. Total wait time was only 45 minutes. I have been going here for several years and the customer service is awesome. This is my place of choice for all my auto needs. They never try to oversell you in doing more for your car and they only recommend what is needed. i have been in other places like jiffy lube, eazy lube and others and they always make me feel guilty if I say no to the extra maintenance they try to sell me on. Firestone's service is quick and efficient. They will even remind you of your free tire rotations (if you purchased the lifetime service) and rotate your tires every time you come in for an oil change. The oil changes is usually only around 30 min but if they do have a wait, I usually walk down to the Brea mall to entertain myself. The staff is so nice, that once I asked one of the guys to drive me to the mall on a super hot day, and he did. Nice! Clean place with a tv in the waiting area, nice staff, quick service and close to the Brea mall as well as fast food places a few steps away. read more

I was fortunate enough to listen to my dad when he told me to get the lifetime warranty for alignments on my car. Here I am, roughly 10 years later, still getting free alignments on my Benny (yep, my car is named Benny). I try not to come to Firestone for anY fancy fixes because I can usually get quality work done elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. I've gotten a few sets of tires, some oil changes and bulb replacements because they have a friendly staff that knows what they're doing. read more

I was taking my 2012 Camry to the dealership since I bought it but decided to bring it to Firestone in Brea for new brakes because many of my co-workers recommend them. I dropped the car off mid morning and was called a couple of hours later- they stated that I didn't need brakes yet! They said that they would rotate the tires and that I had at least 1500 more miles on the car before needing brakes. When I picked up the car I waited for the bill - there wasn't one! No charge for rotating the tires since they had to remove them to check the brakes anyway! I never walked out of the Toyota dealership without a HUGE bill for even the most minor issue. There is no point making a reservation at this shop. No one took a look at my car until close to 4, when I brought my car in at the scheduled 9am appointment. After waiting all day, calling twice after 2-3 hours, they still couldn't fix the check engine light issue. The point of making the reservation is because the weekend is the only time to get to the repairs.They charged me nothing. But not only did I lose a whole day, I've got to wait another week to take it into the dealer. This has happened enough times where they deserve the one star. read more

I used to have faith in Firestone but I'm beginging to think they are tired of servicing the lifetime alignment I purchased years ago. I went recently for an oil change, rotation and alignment check. After nearly two hours they called to tell me they couldn't find the wheel lock (this is a common issue with my car apparently). Finally a bit later they called to say they still couldn't locate it and would START the oil change. When I went to pick up the car the service advisor told me I should consider changing the serpentine belt next oil change. Now I've spent time and energy searching for a place to remove my security lugs and I take it to a VW mechanic and TADA! the wheel lock is right under the spare! And for giggles he checks under the hood to find that belt I should *consider* to be split down the middle and nearly shredded! He also discovered a brake sensor and a CV boot issue that were never brought to my attention. I give up Firestone!!! read more

This dealership is located in a very busy location. Even with an appointment, service completion time is slower than my longtime Firestone dealer in another city. I've been here a couple of times since I visit this area frequently. The service gets done fine but you cannot expect anything to get done quickly even with an appointment. In the future, if possible, I'll try to get to a different Firestone dealer a bit farther away hoping for more effecient service times. read more

I took my car in to have them look at my tire, The manager Frank came out to take a look at the tire and tried to tell me I had that tire on for 10 years when I've only had my car for 8. I had my tires replaced maybe 4 years ago. When I tried to tell him that, he wanted to to just argue with me and then began to back track on what he was trying to say. He was not professional at all. My SUV indicated for low air pressure in one of tires while i was on my way to drop my daughter to school. When i saw they were open i thought of going there and getting it fixed. Well i was wrong. I was turned down by them, as i dont have an "APPOINTMENT". lol. Customer care lady told me they dont have a mechanic to fix my car at the moment so she can set me an appointment and i can pick up my car by 3.00pm, because we cant give preferences to walk in customers. (So basically in general terms what she meant was, if you dont have an appointment with us we dont give a shit).I laughed so hard and left. Anyway i also read some of the reviews posted by customers who had appointment to get their vehicles fixed and it occurs to me that they are not happy either. I made an appointment for today, to purchase two tires and have them installed during my lunch hour. Keep in mind I am a returning customer and I had purchased four tires last time with a mount, balance and alignment. This time the guy tells me it's going to take at least three hours. I'm like wtf? Why so long? He treats me like I don't know how long it takes to mount and balance two tires. I told him I have an appointment, but he says an appointment doesn't mean anything, they have three cars ahead of me and it's supposed to be my appointment time. Then he says because of covid I can't wait there. I said well three hours in the hot sun, no thank you. I believe, since the last time I was here, they have changed management. I am not too sure but Frank (who is the manager) checked me in on a busy Saturday and went over what I was there for. I made an appointment and I highly you do too. Either call or make one online. Both options are super easy to do and will save you a lot of headache rather than doing a walk in. I was there for a tire rotation and alignment. He got me in and gave me an estimated time of 4 hours. He told me the price and even gave me a coupon to make it cheaper! I really appreciate that. I went home and got a call about 4 hours later. He remembered who I was when I walked in and was prepared to get me in and out. He then said he found another way to save me an extra $10 or so. I really never had companies offer to save you money. I always would have a coupon or something ready to show them so this was amazing customer service to me. Car was great and I could tell the alignment was did correctly as I drove home. However on Monday my tire pressure light came on and I drove over to the shop at around an hour before closing, prepared to make an appointment there if they were too busy. Frank was there again and he told me to pull up and somebody will check my pressures. They did and filled it up and light was gone. It's been almost a month and the light never came on again. Lee and the rest of the staff here are all pros. I should know, I've been here 3 times in the last year because for some reason, the tires in my SUV are nail magnets. They do their very best to get your service done effectively and as efficiently as possible. I was here a couple days ago because I found yet another nail in one of my tires, and even though they were busy, Lee was able to get my tire looked at and I was back on the road in less than an hour. John was amazing and so helpful so the three stars are for him only. I can't say the same about the rest of the crew. I came in due to a flat tire. It was one hour before closing on Friday and John said he can check if the tire was save-able or not. It wasn't. Then he said he could match the Sams Club price if it's similar to the ones Firestone has. After checking with Sams Club, I decided to get all four tires changed since it was near the end of life on all four. I had called John five min before closing (same day) and he was able to put in order of my tire right before he clocked out. He called me Saturday morning at 11 to confirm the arrival of the tires and to reconfirm the 12pm appt I had made on Sunday to get the tires changed. He made my day! I brought my car in around 11:45 on the Sunday of my 12pm appt and asked for a oil change as well. I was told by Octavio that it should take 2-3 hours which I was fine with. When I came back at 2, my car was still tire-less in the shop. Octavio said he was waiting for the filter for the oil change. By 3, the tires were still NOT on my car. So I asked to just nix the oil change and I just want my tires installed so I can go. I was then told the oil change is done but the tech guy in charge of my tires went to lunch. Seriously?! It has been 3 hours and no tires are on the car. What was this tech guy doing before/after the oil change? As a nice gesture, the charges of my oil change were taken off due to the wait. I'll take the free oil change but if I had known I was going to wait this much longer, I wouldn't have asked for the oil change. The tires didn't get put onto my car until 3:20pm. Car was put back into the floor at 3:40pm. I didn't leave with my car until 3:45pm...WAY later than the estimated time. read more

(@ the Brea Location) around 7:15am & she asked Me to bring the Car in ASAP since it was early in the Morning & since they had time to inspect My Brakes. Not only did she get My Car inspected right away (without an Appointment I might add) but she made Me aware of the Coupons Online which were extremely helpful. DONT GO TO THIS LOCATION! The worst treatment ever. Dropped the car on Friday at 3pm for a break inspection and the store manager put in the system that it will be done by Saturday. When I called and checked on Saturday, they said Sunday it will be ready. Called on Sunday, the car is not yet even looked at. Have paid these guys more than 970 bucks last time we got car work done. I don't give a fuck about maintenance or preventative care, and thus, my tire exploded after ignoring a huge bump in it caused by an accident. I stopped by here literally 15 minutes before they closed. The (I assume) manager gave me a really decent deal on the tires they had in stock to meet (more or less) the price of a nearby competitor, and they did the work in about 10 minutes. I am writing in regard to a major problem that occurred at the Brea, California Firestone. I came in for a routine oil change however, on the second day after the oil change my car leaked all of the oil out. I was left stranded in the middle of a major street. I had to get a tow truck to have my car taken to my house. In addition to the stress it caused, I missed an entire day of work as well. When I called to report the issue, the manager said to please bring the car into their shop. He did not offer to send a tow truck for me, so once again I had to use my insurance to get another tow truck. At no point did the manager admit that they made a mistake. He just plainly said it had to do with something that was not tightened. He offered no refund, but instead said the next oil change was on them. I politely asked that they send someone to clean my driveway. In my opinion that is a reasonable request. It has been two months and still they have not sent anyone. They said the would and every time I call to ask them again, they reply saying that they are getting quotes and will get back to me. This is unacceptable. I would still like to have someone come and clean my driveway. I am not going to pay out of pocket again to fix their mistake. read more

When it comes to getting auto work done, people look for two things: Affordability and honesty. OK, maybe throw quality in there as well, though very few of us automotive novices know what "quality auto work" entails anyway...probably it just means "car doesn't break down/fall apart after work is done." After my experience here, I feel like this shop meets all two/three of the aforementioned criteria! I called on a Saturday to get a quote on a full synthetic oil change after calling 4-5 other places and getting the same ballpark estimate of $70-$75. When I spoke to Gregg on the phone, he told me they had a coupon for $49.99 and since the price and reviews were so good, I scheduled an appointment for Monday at noon. On the day of my appointment, I called around 11 and spoke to Lee. I wanted to see if I could come in a bit earlier, around 11:15, and he said that wasn't a problem since they were pretty open. When I arrived at the shop, I was eventually helped (I wish I got the guy's name -- he was great) and after just a few minutes I was checked in and given an approximate completion time of 1 p.m. This wasn't ideal considering I was planning on doing some work and waiting at the shop, but for the price I wasn't going to complain. As it turned out, they were done at 12:30, which was only an hour wait! While I was waiting, I managed to get a lot of work done in their lobby area, which is nice enough if you have to wait and want to get work done (they have free WiFi) or watch some TV. Another employee helped me with the checkout (I was I had gotten his name, too) and I even asked if there were any problems after the courtesy check, to which he said there weren't -- A+ for honesty since the car is less than a year old! With tax I paid around $53 -- around $25 less than I would've been charged somewhere else -- and I was on my way. This was the first oil change I had to pay for with my new car (the first was free at the dealership), and I will certainly be back here next time, with or without a coupon since I was so satisfied with the two/three pillars of a great auto shop: affordability (5/5 -- the quote before the coupon was actually the lowest by a few dollars), honesty (5/5) and "quality" (5/5). read more

Tried to get a tire rotation with my synthetic oil change when I saw a $10 advertisement in their waiting lobby to do multi pt inspection, with the tire rotation and they told me that I need to pay $20 if it's just the tire rotation. I've been going to this firestone for 4 years now. The customer service has definitely improved in the last year. I'm very impressed by the employees not trying to sell me something I don't need. Even when I asked if I should replace my filters, the employee said it looked good and didn't need to change it. I asked because I was told a few months ago at a different store that I had to change it. I believe it was Gregg- he took care of a light that was out and didn't even charge me. And didn't even mention it like he did me a huge favor. When I asked if he checked the lights, he said yes an amber light was out and he took care of it. No big deal Thank you Firestone. You earned my trust big time. Now if Firestone tells me if my car needed some work done, I will believe it and get it done right away. Very very different from 4 years ago when I was scared into replacing 2 tires, then the very next year the other two tires. I had stopped going here because they scared me into doing that. Best drop in experience ever!! I called ahead with a concern with my car...the exhaust heat shield was rattling. It's Friday afternoon, & a few hours before closing. I spoke to Greg on the phone & he told me if i could come in right away, he'll have a technician look at it. I work down the street, so I drove over right away. Luckily, there was a technician (Richard) available to help me. They pulled my car in, lifted it up & went right to finding out what was making the crazy rattling sound. Sure enough, it was the heat shield that has become loose! Richard quickly took a few zip ties, secured in a few different spots & said: ok! You're good to go! I was like: huh? How much do I owe you?? He smiled & said: you're good to go. :D What great customer service from the second I called, all the way until my car was taken care of & left. They are fair in price, never try to create issues to fix and let me know how I can save on Maintenance when combining services. Worst customer service and they tried to rip me off! I went in to get my battery checked after jump starting my car that morning. It wasn't the first time my battery had died, so I went in for a diagnosis. Before doing any work the rep said he would chm arge me $24.99 for checking the battery, electrical components and the alternator. He came back 10 minutes later to tell me the battery was dead and they couldn't perform the tests unless I purchased a $160 battery with 5 year (2 year replacement, 3 years prorated) warranty. I told him that I thought it was too much for a battery and while I waited for their diagnosis, I had time to check other nearby prices. Walmart batteries cost $97 with 5 year (3 year replacement, 2 year prorated) warranty. He kept pushing the sale claiming their batteries were better quality. I told him I still thought it was too much. He got really upset and told me to get the battery wherever I wanted and he would just cash me out. I asked him what he was going to cash me out for if he hadn't run any tests? He said he couldn't run any tests because the battery was dead. I told him that I knew the battery was dead, which was the reason I was there in the first place. Well, at least he gave me a jumpstart to which the one star rating can be applied to. read more

I was 100 miles from home on business and my tire wouldn't hold air pressure for the last two days staying in hotels and facing another day and a half on the road. I went in and asked to repair the tire and expected to get a call that I needed a new tire. Called when I didn't get a call after meetings, again expecting we had to replace the tire.... amazingly it was already repaired! I went in expecting to really Pay. They were so amazing repaired my tire And replaced the stem valve for next to nothing. I'm amazed! read more

This place is pretty legit! I basically negotiated everything over the phone with Steve, and he gave me an excellent quote. Lee provided great customer service upon intake, and the tech who worked on my car was friendly as well. I'm thankful because my request was on super short notice and they were able to get the job done. Not only did they have my tires available (I've been calling multiple places to no avail), but I got a super sweet deal. I did have to wait a bit as a compromise, but they were swamped and it's totally understandable. All in all-- great service and prices! These guys work hard, even took people after closing time.
