This was my second time here at this location. My first experience was outstanding. Customer service, food quality/temperature were all great. My second time as I was eating I noticed a long hair that had been cooked onto the sausage link. The waitress was very apologetic and said she'd have the manager come over. Also removed my meal from the bill. I waited for and the manager never came to our table. My sister made eye contact with him and he ignored herShe waved him over- nothing. She started to get up and approach him and only then did he come to the table. His attitude was rude and unapologetic. About a month ago I had a hair in one of my pancakes. When I mentioned it to my waiter, the lady at the table next to mine said there was a hair in her daughter's eggs. We both complained to the manager who was very apologetic. He even gave me two $25 gift cards. I decided to give them another try on December 6, 2024. Well, my sister had a long hair on her sausage. This time the manager didn't bother to come to the table until I got his attention and asked him to come to the table. He said he removed my sister's meal from the check. I reminded him that this happened before and I asked what is going on, does the kitchen staff wear hair nets? He said very nonchalantly and flippantly that "hair in the food happens sometimes". I have a standing appointment every two weeks so I have been stopping at this location for breakfast before my appointment. Service is usually pretty good but today I sat for 10 minutes with no initial service. To add insult to injury several servers actually made eye contact with me and turned and walked in the opposite direction. I left before ordering and had breakfast across the street at Panera. I am not a high maintenance customer and I always tip at least 20%. There is a First Watch closer to my home and I will be going there from now on. So disappointing. read more

About a 1-1.5: Sorry, First Watch, but this Falls Church location needs a lot of work. We came here as a group for breakfast, and the whole dining experience was just unpleasant. We were seated in a booth, but we ended up waiting what seemed close to half an hour for someone to acknowledge our party and to get our orders in. There was no server, and there were a line of staff members just in the kitchen, chit chatting. We kept turning around in our booths to flag someone, but no one was making eye contact or even making rounds to check in on the tables. When our server came, she gave an excuse that there was some type of a last-minute rotation. We ordered the following: +Crab Cake Benedict - Chesapeake Bay-style crab cakes topped with poached eggs, sautéed baby spinach, pico de gallo, sriracha hollandiase, scallions, and Old Bay seasoning with a side of lemon-dressed mixed greens; it was requested that the pico de gallo was served on the side, but it wasn't; the baby spinach was super wet, and it seemed as if it wasn't drained properly or there was too much liquid that it was being sautéed in; the so-called 'small-batched' crabcakes had a very off-putting fishy taste to them, and the muffin was super soggy (most likely from the drenched spinach); the dish was also lukewarm +a Chickichanga - a flour tortilla filled with eggs, white-meat chicken, chorizo, green chiles, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, onions, and avocado, with a side of fruit and seasoned potatoes; the dish was served slightly cold +Farmhouse Hash - eggs with potatoes, bacon, avocado, onions, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, and served with slices of whole grain toast; this had a huge puddle of oil at the bottom and was a super greasy dish, most likely from the cheese, which made it inedible +coffee - the coffee mugs were not washed properly and had an odor to them +iced coffee - overly sweet and way too much ice, when requested for light ice There seems to be a lack of quality control here (both with the cleanliness and with the food), and the service was just non-existent. Ate here today with my husband. Arrived at about 12pm - place was hopping, but we were seated quickly. Ordering took some time, but it was understandable as the waiter was overwhelmed. He ordered a meat-only omelette and I had the classic eggs Benedict with their special spiked lavender-lemonade. My husband enjoyed his meal, but mine was woefully underwhelming. This isn't my first time visiting this chain restaurant, but first at this location which has been opened a little over a year (?). Upon arrival we were promptly seated, and orders quickly taken and I tried the new honey caramel crunch iced coffee with no cold foam. Our food came out pretty quick as well. One of the staff members rudely grabbed an extra chair from our table without asking. When we brought this up to the cashier, instead of addressing the concern politely, she was dismissive and rude, saying, "We always do that." All we were asking was for some basic courtesy--just ask before taking something from a guest's table. First Watch elevates breakfasts for chain restaurants. The quality of ingredients, variety of menu options, and energy behind the concept is appreciated. I loved the Bacado omelet and the multigrain blueberry pancakes were nice and fluffy. Yes, they are technically "two" dishes, but it's the weekend. Don't judge me. I'm not a fan of the coffee though. Our waitress did not rush us. It's a very popular place. You definitely should use the "Get in line" option. The food comes out fast, your receipt is left on the table, and you pay at the front. Why is it not 5 stars? The food is elevated, thoughtful, and better than mom's. (Sorry mom!) The conflict is in the comfort level and décor. There are nods to "country kitchen" and "farm life", but it's resulted in hard edges which amps up the volume level. It reminds me of a chain hotel breakfast area with an open air kitchen. There's no comfort in the chairs or benches. So I am definitely coming back.. but the new friends will end up at a coffee shop for real coffee and to continue the conversation. Atronsemariam was such and awesome server!! We had a large party of 7 and she handled our rambunctiousness very well. I know it's hard to have a good handle on large parties but she seemed to do it with ease. She remained cheerful throughout our whole meal and always had a smile in her face. Loved many things about coming here, but there was one think my wife did not like here. Our server didn't appear to want to be there. I did not see what she saw, but I did get the feeling something else was on this guys mind. Nevertheless, even without our server, this restaurant gave off great lighting, because of the windows. The atmosphere was good too. People come here for the great food made from scratch. The lines of people just kept on coming. I highly recommend placing yourself on inline through the store's website. Walking in off the street might put you in the back seat for a while. Also the men's bathroom was pretty clean seeing how much traffic came through here. Overall, I liked this First Watch better than the Fairfax Virginia store. I think we have found a strong contender to take on Denny's in Falls Church. We will be back again.... Surprisingly there was no wait at 10:30 on a Sunday morning so we were seated promptly and our cups were filled with coffee just a couple minutes later which I love. I would say this is in the top 3 breakfast burritos I've ever had! The food came out pretty quick but you could tell it was all fresh and not waiting to be reheated. The pancakes were also delicious and had a ton of chocolate chips and bananas inside, they definitely didn't skimp! The portions were also very generous, especially for the price. We checked in online, and when we arrived we put our names on the list. The line was outside the building and we waited in the car. Well, they never contacted us and everybody who came after us somehow got seated! That was frustrating! They kept messing up our order as well. The eggs were over cooked, no butter, confusion, etc. Once we got everything situated the food was great! I like that we can pour our own champagne and see what we are actually drinking! I feel that the juices and appetizers are a bit pricey, but the entrees seem reasonable. Food: 4.5/5 - I recommend the Farmhouse Hash and Million Dollar Bacon as they are so flavorful and delicious. I like their juices as well, but that depends on my mood. Recently had the Kale Tonic and was not the biggest fan this time around. Felt the flavors did not work that great together, but open to trying other juices here too. Service: 5/5 - All the staff here are super helpful and attentive. We attended the soft opening in which the staff is in training while we get free food! The manager, Oscar, greeted us upon entry and introduced himself and every employee we met did the same. The food, fresh juices and coffee were all great. My mother, who always has something to complain about for once in her life did not this time. As she poured the coffee she actually said the coffee smells so good. She finally uttered the words I have been longing to here: everything is superb! Hallelujah!
