Busy Sunday morning. We asked for an outside table and were seated immediately. Inside diners had a longer wait. Food was perfect.

This was my first time at First Watch. I liked the ambiance as soon as I walked in. It is casual and comfortable. You feel like you can relax with nice, typical folk (not uppity or snooty). We arrived at 11:15 a.m. on a Tuesday. The waitress that helped us was very friendly. We were seated promptly and furnished the menus (and their seasonal menu was on the table as well). They immediately offered coffee (which I politely declined). We were were brought out an old milk jar with water in it. The water didn't have a funny taste to it (filtered) like many restaurants in the area have. I ordered the "Pick Two" and chose a 1/2 Monterrey Club and their 1/2 Sweet Honey Walnut salad. I'm trying to watch my calories, but I found it difficult to do - not only because of the tasty selections, but also because there are not a lot of low-calorie options. We were served very promptly! That was FAST! I delved into the delicious sandwich first. It was devoured in under two minutes (I know, I have a problem tasting my food before I swallow). It was just right! Hit the spot. Then I got started on the Sweet Honey Walnut Salad with Chicken and a Honey Dijon dressing (with bits of dried cranberries). It was great! The balance of sweet to that Clear-Your-Sinuses-Dijon was spot on! There were also shredded carrots and shredded cheddar cheese on this one. I was just about finished before our waitress came back to ask if we were enjoying our meal. "Just terrible!" I replied while stuffing my face, sarcastically! :-) I grabbed a kids menu to check it out as well, since I thought this would be a good option for my family (3 small kids). It looks just right! Every kid's meal costs $5.79 and comes with a beverage, and most come with a cup of fruit (my kids love fruit) and bacon or sausage. I won't list them all on here, but it is just right for my family! I'm very glad first watch has reopened. I've been there several times over the past couple of years and always have a great experience. I went to breakfast today with my husband. We shared the frittata rustica; eggs, mushroom, cheese with buttered toast and field greens and the Belgium waffle; fluffy batter, warm butter, berry compote and maple syrup. They serve coffee in a carafe to make it easier to refill. Since reopening they have updated their safety procedures. Menus are disposable or on the app, the hostess/cashier is behind plexiglass, the waitstaff wear gloves and masks and they spread out the customers around the restaurant to continue social distancing. For relaxing atmosphere and good comfort food, I highly recommend first watch. read more

My husband and I visited on 9/9/24. We had a nice lunch but a mistake was made with our check. We were given the bill for the other table in front/behind us whichever direction you look at it. My husband had already paid tge check and tip before we realized it was for another table. He told the server who spoke to his Manger. She redid the bill and said the other one would be cancelled but would take a few days for the cancellation to show up. She took that recipe from us so we no longer have it. She also gave us a new one, the correct one this time. We paid for that leaving a tip. It's now 9/25/24 more than 2 weeks later but we've been charged for both checks..and tips. We have called several times but the manager is never there. The website states they are open until 2.30pm but I called multiple times before 2pm and nobody picks up at all and I let the phone ring for a long time. Either nobody is there or worse they are avoiding us...As I can't get hold of anyone I'm hoping they will respond to this and put the situation right. You know you charged us twice! read more

A nice breakfast and lunch place! The food ranges from some of the healthier options like yogurt and granola to meat sandwiches. The food tastes fine, nothing to die for. Our first waitstaff was new to the job looked like, as she didn't even know what was the soup of the day! Then we were given another waitstaff and he was on top of things. I had ordered a sandwich and a side of soup. I think I should try their omelette sometime and then update my review. read more

Updated Review This business is somewhat new. It replaced the Egg & I. In any case, we stopped in for a meal. The food was good, but the service wasn't quite yet at the A game level. After I wrote about it, the manager did reach out to me. Her intentions are in the right spot, so I think they will get everything worked out quickly. This place is great for breakfast - they have options for those eating healthy and for those that want to wreck it for brunch. Their seasonal menus are pretty unique - you get to try some cool creations. One of our favorite menu items is the millionaire bacon. Give it a try! This was our 2nd trip to a First Watch, and impressions have been similar at both. Good food, healthy options, better than average coffee (important), but at higher prices. In general, the price is in line with the quality of the food, though you won't see me pay $10 for avocado toast, even at gunpoint (which, to be clear, didn't happen). This trip, I split a breakfast sandwich (excellent) and pancake stack (ditto) with my lovely bride. Companions tried the bacado omelet (good, but a little on the smallish size) and the frittata rustica (well-received). If your breakfast goal is to be carb-loaded at a low cost, FW may not be your favorite, but we find it to be a nice alternative to the standard breakfast options. read more

We ate here this past Sunday for the first time and it was a great experience. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was Danielle and she did an excellent job! She was very attentive to us without being intrusive. She has a great sense of humor and is very helpful. Service was quick and she had good suggestions on the breakfast choices. We both chose the farmhouse skillet and it was excellent! Very flavorful, eggs cooked perfect, and plenty of food to satisfy. We really enjoyed the meal and the friendly people working here and will definitely be back again. read more

Went to Houston for vacation with some friends, stopped for breakfast at this very urban modern healthy cafe, the waiter was extremely nice and friendly, he went out of his way to make sure our orders were made exactly as we wanted. I wanted to try this location since I like the one on 1960. I was very, very disappointed. To begin with just sitting in there you sweat from the lack of AC. I had to have all the eggs remade since they were over cooked. My omelet was brown from being over cooked. The potatoes were hard and over cooked. Even though the toast was hard and amable to eat by my 3yr old. I spent $72 dollars for my family of five. FOR BREAKFAST! I couldn't believe the kids orange juice was $2.50. This food is NOT WORTH the price. If your looking fo a good traditional bacon/ sausage, eggs and pancakes, this is NOT THE PLACE!!! read more

Will never go to this location again. The service was absolutely terrible. Went to this location because it's more convenient for me since it's right off 249. However, if you want to be treated like decent human beings please visit a different location. The waitress and hostess both had terrible customer service skills and was extremely slow in getting our orders, to go boxes, straws and understanding us in general. I definitely prefer the champions forest location because their service is always excellent!!! Came in on Thursday for breakfast and Anahi was our server She was not nice, did not introduce herself and was not attentive either. Maybe she was having a bad day?¿ We had several other servers help and grab things that we needed. My dad got the wrong toast, he can't have nuts seeds or whole grains, (not a big deal) someone brought us the right kind. But his eggs were also undercooked (not too much of a big deal), he still ate them. She also forgot my jelly, we had to ask twice for more water. It was just an unpleasant experience. And maybe being in a car wreck the night before had something to do with our bad experience but we felt as though we were being ignored or not as much of a priority as her other tables. We understand it gets busy and mistakes get made, but we would rather drive an extra 10-15 minutes to somewhere that has more than one vegan option than have to go through that again. I was okay with coming here when there was more plant based options but if the service sucks, the food takes forever and they are still getting it wrong, I'd rather not. It's 2022 almost, let's get on the same page of what "healthy" really is. Having dairy, meat and eggs on every menu item is NOT healthy. read more

Will never come back, came here for lunch on a Friday, about 3 occupied tables. We were seated, but it took about 4 minutes before our waitress arrived asking us for any beverage. Another 3 minutes before she came back with the drinks, now most of the customers have finished and left so we are the only customers in the restaurant. As our waitress gave us the drinks she asked us what we wanted. Took our order and she went about chatting with other fellow waitresses 20 minutes goes by I flag down another waitress and asked why it would take 20 minutes to get our order especially since we were the only ones in the restaurant. She had no answer and disappeared within 1 minute another waitress brings out food to us. I realized our food was ready yet our waitress was to busy chatting with her fellow crew and neglected to check on our meal My soup was actually room temperature no apologies or acknowledgement on the failed service. Their brunch food is great! Been here twice and I just love taking family from out of town to dine in here because their menu is comfort food that anyone would love. Tried their lunch set menu, the serving portion was a bit too small for its price and compared to the other dishes in the same price range. I really dig First Watch and I'm going to keep coming back. Staff is always super friendly, and the food is relatively quick and always fresh. A part of me feels that it's overpriced, but I also recognize that First Watch uses high quality ingredients. For breakfast, I love their A.M. Super Foods Bowl! It's coconut milk chia pudding with berries and a slice of bread with almond butter. Filling, creamy, delicious! Their seasonal offerings are also always unique and great choices. When I grab lunch here, the chicken pesto quinoa bowl is a favorite of mine. read more
