As my first trip outside of the Tampa-St. Pete metro area in quite a while I visited friends just north of Orlando in Altamonte Springs. On my way back home I stopped here for a breakfast I knew would be very tasty since I haven't run across a bad or even mediocre First Watch before. The trip here didn't disappoint at all. I got here at 10:30 and thought that I would have to wait to be seated but was shown to a table right away by the server who also was at the door to open it for me as I approached. Although the picture doesn't do the bowl justice this is a very filling meal and a great way to start the day. My fitness app logged it in at 970 calories, also high in saturated fats (almond butter) but surprisingly low (34 gm) of sugar. I was surprised that with strawberries, blueberries and bananas as well as yogurt that it wouldn't have been higher. It's a very relaxing atmosphere and a great place to go if you're hungrier than you are to take the time to prepare a meal. read more

Came here for a nice but casual breakfast date. I've always loved their juices from the juice bar, I tried the pomegranate punch and it didn't disappoint! My girlfriend got the Bloody Mary, which she said she could have done without, as she loves bloody Mary's and said this one was very lack luster. For our food, we both ordered the pick two for lunch. Wow the market veggie Sandwich I chose surprised me! I really enjoyed it, more than I thought I was going to. I do wish I would've ordered my salad without bacon, but that's on me. This First Watch is as good as all of the others. I love the breakfast menu and this restaurant chain. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. They were very busy but our waitress was relaxed and friendly. As soon as we were seated the drink order was taken and coffee was poured. Half of the table ordered omelets and the other half ordered pancakes, waffles and eggs over easy with potatoes. It took about twenty minutes for our order to arrive at the table and everything was perfect. The chili Chorizo Omelet is amazing. The chilies pop with flavor and there are big hunks of avocado in it. They were pretty skimpy with the chorizo but it was still amazing. The million dollar bacon was as good as ever and the coffee was hot and plentiful. It took a few sips to get used to the taste of the Morning Meditation Fresh Juice. It's made with ginger, orange, lemon, turmeric, beet and agave nectar. To me it had a bite to it but I liked it. read more

I love breakfast and no one does it like First Watch. I usually have to wait for a seat,but it is worth it. The decor, atmosphere and service are all wonderful and prices are not cheap but very fair for what you get. Now on to the food, Everything EVERYTHING was delicious. I usually go for their Belgian waffles which are always a treat. Crispy bite with a soft airy feel, perfect acompinament or sausage and sunny side ups. This time I decided to try the avocado toast with million dollar bacon on the side. I was very pleased with my choice. The avocado was perfect and flavorful with great seasoning on top of crispy toast. The million dollar bacon had a bit of spice and glazed in maple syrup. First watch always delivers with their breakfast, however what makes First Watch even better compared to most chains is their seasonal menu. Since it is fall, the menu provided some pumpkin flavors such as their pumpkin spice donuts and pumpkin pancakes. I had the Truffle Mushroom Hash and my wife had the short rib Omelet with a side of grits. What caught me by surprise was that this location has added alcohol to their menu with such as mimosas, and bloody mary's. But I grabbed the deliciously looking cinnamon toast crunch milk, that is rum based. I felt like I was enjoying the best part of finishing my bowl of cereal, and I even added it to my coffee! read more

1. They have a check-in app: if you arrive and checked in ahead of time, there is still a lengthy wait. Maybe half as long as just walking in the doors. Should be closer to 5-10 min if you arrived on time or early. 2. They built this place out and did not take over an existing layout: Why is it arranged so poorly and why are the bathrooms small? They have seating wedged in near a bathroom and the kitchen walk-thru. You get to sit with people standing in line next to tables as they wait for tiny bathrooms. 3. The place is understaffed, food is over-priced for the quality level (cold omelette, papery onion peel in omelette, and roughly cut meat chunks), and the coffee is way overpriced for what has the flavor of old $0.50 diner coffee. For $3.49 a person, go to Starbucks beforehand, overpay there but get quality. They aren't reinventing breakfast here, but you should get "better than Dennys at 2am" quality for $40+ for 2 people, no alcohol... at the very least. The decor being nice is about the only good point I can make. The rest was subpar or walking the line, so nothing worth noting. read more

I know this place is a chain so I wasn't expecting much when we went to use our bogo coupon I received at United We Brunch. I was so surprised when I walked in to see how cute this location is decorated, not to mention the cute Maitland sign with oranges (stupid exit sign blocking a good photo). All of the items are the same on the menu but they offer seasonal specials too. I asked what the server liked the best and he told me the Chickichanga. This dish has whipped eggs with spicy chicken, chorizo sausage, green chilies, cheddar and monterey Jack, onions and avocado in a flour tortilla. Topped with Vera Cruz sauce and sour cream. It's accompanied with fresh fruit (really small side) and fresh and seasoned potatoes. It was really tasty and it was cooked really well without extra oil or grease. My guy ordered the Frittata Rustica which was an omelet with kale, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes topped with Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese_ Served with ciabatta toast. This egg dish comes with greens but you can opt for potatoes at no charge. Both items were priced well under $12 and the service was great, we received our breakfast shortly after ordering. This place is busy, but we only waited for 10mins on a sat morning. Worth the wait! My go to's are always AVOCADO TOAST (yum!). I like to order it with two sunny side eggs, enough to where the yolk gently spills out when u cut into it. And the BANANA NUT PANCAKE. One pancake is by far enough to fill 1 person, but you do get a better deal when u order two though. The pancake is so warm, fresh and soft. I can never get my pancakes to be this texture and taste!! Lol The CLASSIC EGG BENEDICT is also a good choice to order. You can't go wrong with this one. This time around my boyfriend ordered the PARMA HASH SKILLET. He said it was good. It's a mix of eggs (any way you want them) he ordered them scrambled, it has parmesan and mozzarella cheese, italian sausage, mushrooms, potatoes and onions. It definitely filled him up, and it came with two slices of buttered toast so good, and a small side of fruit (very small though). Used to love this location but in the last two years it has gone very downhill. During long waits the staff used to have complimentary coffee and water available, however that is no longer offered. The food quality is never consistent. Avoid the poached eggs as they will absolutely be over cooked. Their fruit is not fresh. Also recently the cleanliness of the restaurant has been questionable - they have water glasses on the table when you sit down that sometimes have greasy fingerprints on them which makes you wonder if the previous guest had the same glass on their table. There are other first watch locations... until this location figures things out I recommend you go to the one in Mills or Maitland if you're set on their menu. read more

Larger parties are not a surprise you should not have told us it was 10 min wait when clearly it is over an hour and we wasted 40 mins of our time but this is just another poorly run chain like Dennys and iHop down the street. read more

So disappointed! I've eaten here before but many years ago. This time will be my last for paying a lot of money for pretty poor service and just a so-so breakfast. We were a party of four and were happy about getting seated right away. There were so many staff free that they held the front door open for us which was very nice. However, our waiter was good at greeting us but not good at taking care of us. Two of us drank coffee and two drank hot tea. We didn't get enough water glasses and had to ask another server after waiting 10 min. Our waiter seemed to be doing other things and not checking on us after we were served (by other staff) our breakfast. As for food: my husband liked his breakfast and the other couple liked their food but my dish the salmon egg Benedict was just so so. The ciabatta bread isn't really a good substitute for a nice crispy English muffin. Just a big fluffy elongated bun really and not toasted. Eggs were fine (cooked properly) the Hollandaise sauce was ok and smoked salmon was good. I think it just lacked flavor which could have helped w/ some capers to go w/ the couple pieces of red onion. We had to hunt down another waiter to get more coffee. Overall it just wasn't what I remembered. Hard to find good quality ingredients in chain restaurants. read more

First Watch is the best brunch place i've ever been to. their sausage gravy and biscuits plate is really, really, REALLY good. if you order water here, they give you a whole jug so you can serve yourself rather than getting refills (maybe this is a COVID measure, i don't know). In other news, these guys weren't kidding when they said "Million Dollar Bacon". the only reason i gave this place 4 stars was because the bacon isn't crispy enough. it's a petty reason, but i like my crispy bacon. I love grabbing a quick breakfast, brunch or lunch at First Watch! My favorite is Morning Meditation ($3.99) and it's so refreshing and you feel so healthy and upbeat afterwards! I like their 2 for you lunch deal (about $8) and my favorite combo is a market veggies sandwich with super kale salad. Any of their salad is pretty good and avocado toast is also yummy and a big portion as well. The servers are always so nice and today wasn't an exception. They get pretty crowded on the weekend but I must say weekday is pretty relaxing. read more

With seasonal selections and great tasting drinks, you can't go wrong here, even on a diet, they got your back! This location was clean, tables were spaced out and employees wore masks making us feel safe and comfortable to be there. Food was great, simple menu to choose and specials to entice. Had to go with that Million dollar bacon, never make a trip there without indulging in it! If your watching the waistline, you have a choice of side of green salad instead of potatoes, and if you are wanting to indulge, then their pancakes or French toast is the way to go!! My demotion of one star is the service, it's touch and go when we walk in, everyone is always super nice, but sometimes we'll have a server on top of their game and another time we'll get one clearly in the weeds. Fullhouse, loud busy ambiance...but today I went on a slow quiet Tuesday afternoon and had a wonderful brunch with some friends. Iced coffees all around but for me, I had to get the morning mediation juice. (Absolute favorite) And I usually go for the Chorizo Chile omelette (absolutely delicious) all of their omelettes and frittata are amazing...but today I got what I like to consider "The Best Bang for your Brunch Buck" The Trifecta. Your choosing of A waffle or pancake. (Large portion) eggs cooked to your choosing. And a meat of your choosing. I went with the Belgian waffle. And let me tell you. First watch isn't playing around with their Belgian waffles. They are so fluffy. And wonderful. The texture is unlike any waffle I've ever had. I can whole heartedly say it's the best dang waffle I've ever had. It's 10 bucks for a huge Portion. And I never leave dissatisfied. Our server was Robin! And she was so attentive and kind. This is the second First Watch I've eaten at, and both were above average. I really like the freshness of all their foods, and that they are often presented in a different way. And their breads are totally delicious and hearty. I would keep going back for the breads alone. I really like the half sandwich with soup selection. Another favorite is the salmon frittata. They aren't open all day, so you won't be having dinner here. One downside is that it can be quite noisy. read more
