The downsides: -First Watch does not serve alcohol. -There are only a few pancake/waffle options so you won't get any decadent cinnamon roll, peanut butter, nutella flavored options. -Depending on what you order, it can be reasonably/decently priced. $6.39 for a stack of pancakes (no sides). See below. I was feeling pretty basic so I ordered the Trifecta- pancake, eggs, and choice of meat for $11.79. I upgraded to the lemon ricotta pancake for +$2 and ordered a side of fresh, seasoned potatoes for $3.59. The total came out to $17.38 without tax and tip. Not cheap for a single breakfast. Portion was decent but could have at least included two chicken sausages and potatoes imo. The lemon ricotta pancake was meh; I'd skip it next time. There was a generous dollop of lemon curd, very reminiscent of filled doughnut lemon curd. The ricotta was the selling point and reason I had upgraded but could only find a smidge in the center of the pancake. If you're looking for something more elevated and healthier than your chain breakfast/brunch spots, First Watch is a good option. Just be mindful of cost/portion sizes; you won't get diner portions here! read more

Favorite best place for breakfast!!! Food is delicious, its consistently good every time you go there. When you ask for bacon crisp, its crisp and not burned. Eggs made perfect, sausage gravy, French toast, waffles, toast, potatoes all delicious! We love they have pitchers of coffee on every table and it is great tasting coffee, creamer is a name brand. Actual Maple syrup in little bottles is terrific! They hire some of the most efficient and friendly waiters and waitresses. We have been coming here for about 2 years. I saw mixed reviews about this place but decided to give it a try. Friendly staff.. Sunday morning wait wasn't bad but food did take little longer than average. I like the fact that they give you nice big cup for coffee and they leave you extra coffee per table. Ordered some hacienda hash and biskets and gravy/turkey. I got the avocado toast and the avocado was a bit hard and tasteless. My husband got the BLT because he wanted to try the bacon that they brag about being so amazing and his BLT only had two pieces of bacon on it.. If I had my chance I'd probably eat First Watch every Day. I love their breakfast menu so much and while it can be loud depending on location it's still at a decibel easy enough to hold a conversation. This location was not too busy when we arrived which was great since we were starving. I came with two of my boys which I don't get to do often these days. We all knew what we wanted do when our server came with our drinks we ordered. Everything came out pretty fast and as always was delicious. I love the breakfast sandwich and Floridian French toast. Today I chose the sandwich and one of my boys and I shared an order of biscuits and gravy. The location was clean and it was easy to get in and out of the parking lot. We loved the lunch that we had on Thursday, March.18th, 2021. I chose the two for you-half roast beef sandwich and half kale salad with the morning meditation juice beverage. Decided to try this location after a long run in Tempe and was headed back home in Gilbert. Suffice it to say I've been to First Watch downtown and had a pleasant experience but I did not know what to expect with all this COVID-19 stuff going on. Service: Service was good, nothing overwhelmingly fantastic but for a 1/2 full breakfast restaurant on a sat morning one would expect maybe a bit kore lively attitude. Water was always refilled quickly. Food: I ordered the Tri-fecta and enjoyed the waffle however the 2 eggs it was supposed to come with was more like 1 egg. My friend ordered the pancakes and he enjoyed the fresh fruit it came with on top. After we we're still hungry so we ordered the "million dollar bacon" which was brought semi warm. Other than it not being hit it was very tasty - kind of like a candied bacon treat. (4 slices) Price: Price was average for a breakfast restaurant but the million dollar bacon was way overpriced - 4 slices for $4.99 was just to much to ask for this great. I've been to First Watch two or three times before my most recent visit and it's been one of those places where I'm not knocked off my rocker when I leave but I somehow always make my way back. The establishment has a pretty vast menu so my experiences may have been a product of not picking the correct thing on the menu. During my most recent visit, I opted for the carrot cake pancakes and a chai apple cider. Yasss, I finally selected some great things from the menu. The multigrain carrot cake pancakes had great flavor, especially with the spices used in the pancakes. You can also see the shredded carrots they add to the pancakes. For two pancakes, it costs $6.79. The chai apple cider was also great and is a seasonal drink during the holidays. The chai wasn't too sweet and had a nice balance of flavors between the apple and chair spices. It was a bit on the pricey side at 3 or 4 dollars but 'tis the season! I'm definitely inspired to make my own at home. The service is great and it's a nice spot to go out for breakfast when you're too lazy to make it at home. read more

I can't say enough how excellent the service is here. If there were six stars, it still wouldn't be enough. At a lunch here, one of our party unexpectedly got sick and didn't quite make it to the bathroom. I have never seen more prompt and professional staff. They cleaned up so quickly and made the embarrassed sick party feel comfortable, even giving her a complimentary sprite to settle her stomach. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress. She was such a gem! Thank you to the entire staff of First Watch for treating someone's awful, embarrassing day with grace and compassion. Other than that, their fall menu was also very good. My breakfast was just what I needed and the waitress Allyssa was so nice, greeting me with a smile and a hello good morning! I loved that they serve you very cold water and leave a glass milk bottle for refills. I ordered their traditional breakfast with eggs over easy with sausage. The bread they serve is so soft and delicious! The potatoes cooked to perfection. There's even preserves they serve with the bread but I skipped it to dip it in my eggs. I ordered an Earl Grey tea which was served with honey & lemon. Just what I needed. Their specialty is fresh juice. I decided to get one to go. I went with their seasonal watermelon and it's very refreshing! I definitely will be back once more before I head home.
