Lemon Ricotta Pancakes
Sam H.

All amazing as usual. Absolutely love this location too. Typically great service. Love that you can check in for the waitlist online before. Tacos were out of this world. Pancakes were perfectly cinnamony and I can be picky about that lol. Loved the pickled onions on the tacos. Holey donuts were crunch but soft on the inside

Sourdough "toast"

Breakfast out is one of my all-time favorite things and while Saturday mornings aren't always the best time to try for it, it worked out for us this past weekend. Nine a.m. and there was no wait at the location across from Legacy. Folks were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We both ordered variations on the bacon and eggs standard -- one with a waffle, one with a pancake, and a side of toast for dipping. Our server asked how we liked our bacon -- what a welcome question! I've never been asked such a thing. My partner said crispy, and I said, not crispy -- but cooked, not raw please. To me, crispy means crunchy, breakable. I like a little flex, but without fat that you still can see through. Does that make sense? Her crunchy looked perfect to me, my not crispyy/not raw was not quite. I need better vocabulary for describing what I'd like. Perhaps crispy is it? Eggs were perfect. Sourdough toast was perhaps passed momentarily over a flame, but not toasted. The strawberry jelly was tasty. The pancake was huge and the warm syrup, a delight. The waffle, very nice and the warm fruit compote very yummy. The coffee also was very nice. Overall, maybe on par or a step above Village Inn -- except for the people. They were rock stars!

Carne asada hash

Service was very nice, quick, and helpful when it came to decision making! The pancake my partner got was huge and amazing, but I believe it was a banana granola crunch. The biscuits and gravy didn't really come out hot, only disappointment. The carne asada hash was pretty good, but there wasn't much carne in my opinion.. more potatoes! Overall everything was good!

Fantastic spot with tons of options and great service. Something for everyone! The ingredients are always fresh and the n season! We will definitely be back!

Gingerbread donut holes

We had breakfast at this location for the first time. Since other First Watch locations are always good, we thought this would be as well, and it was. I ordered my usual Frittata Rustica and it was delicious as expected. The big pile of greens is usually dressed but these were plain, which I actually didn't mind. The toast was still warm since the order came out so quickly. Bookguy ordered items from the chalkboard-- gingerbread donut holes and a steak and bacon breakfast burrito. The serving of donut holes was generous and the dipping sauces added to the flavor. We gobbled them up. Bookguy was not as happy with his burrito because he couldn't taste any steak. It was a generous portion too, so he left some behind. It had good flavor and he enjoyed it, but missed the steak. The coffee today was better than usual, so maybe they changed the brand. Bookguy ordered the citrus hibiscus punch, but he didn't like the dried fruit slice garnish or the sugar-rim on the glass. The drink was very sweet, which suited him. Of course, we'll continue to eat at First Watch.

Great quick and easy brunch place! Was in town for a quick weekend and was in the area when I yelped a nearby breakfast/brunch place and came upon this pretty quickly. Easy parking, no wait even on a Sunday at 10:45am. Super great attentive but not annoying service. We sat on the patio on a hot morning and loved it. Delicious breakfast omelette and eggs benedict. The omelette comes with a great portion, fresh greens and tasty bread. Also ordered a side of bacon - always a good idea. They have a huge menu with everything that you could want or be craving. I opted for an iced coffee in the summer heat and absolutely loved it. Refreshing and great flavor. I've seen these chains around and will be back soon I'm sure.

French Toast

This place reminds me of the Pacific Northwest. Fresh, seasonal farm to table. They're a healthier food option for those looking for a light or refreshing breakfast. My first time going to one was in Louisville, KY and second time at this location. Actually came here because of the Louisville location, I enjoyed it so much. I got the breakfast tacos - so much flavor and so good! Pretty filling too! My son got the French toast - he gobbled it up so fast that I can only assume it was good lol. Fiancé got the pancake breakfast. Stop in if you need a break from grease, fat and fried but don't want to give up flavor! Although I'm not one to turn away from those three options either lol! Service is always great, and you can go through Yelp and get on their waitlist early.

Nice spot in Village Pointe to grab something in between, before or after shopping with the family!…read moreWe made a reservation and were able to get seated ahead of time which is always nice. If you get a choice of spots to sit, I would request not to sit on west side of restaurant where there is a long bench seat and tables lined up. It felt pretty close together, a little too cozy for me. The table next to us was in our conversation too often and we could definitely hear their conversation just fine. I'm also not sure what our "Universal Service Fee" was for, but wasn't an outrageous fee. We paid cash trying to avoid the extra fees. In all, it's a good spot as long as you get to chat with your party and not have unintended visitors from neighboring tables.

Gilberts you've been knocked down to number 2. I love the calamari and the dips they came with. It has the perfect chew and wasn't overcooked. It's hard to remember, but I believe my husband had some kind of chicken Alfredo or pasta. He has to write his own review. It was good. I also had a wedge salad, which was delicious as well. The ambience of 402 is nice and seems upscale but at the same time casual. I like that because we weren't dressed up. The waiters and waitresses wore T-shirts and jeans, but the atmosphere is still fancy for a nice date night.

Most of our group had been to Cheddar's before, and we were all excited to try some new menu items. Overall, the food was a hit. The onion rings came out hot and fresh, the lemon pepper chicken was especially juicy, and the white fish ended up being another favorite at the table. That said, there were a few service missteps that took away from the experience. Two people in our group ordered the white fish blackened, but only one plate came out as requested--the other was pretty bland. When our server eventually checked in (a bit later than expected), we mentioned the mix-up. His response was pretty casual, something along the lines of there just being less spice, and he didn't offer to fix it or have it remade. We ended up just swapping a fillet between the two plates so each person had one blackened and one not. It worked, but it felt like something that should have been handled differently. There were also a few moments where drinks went empty for a while, and our server wasn't around much. At one point, a manager actually stepped in and refilled waters for the table, which we appreciated. Overall, the service felt very laid-back...but to the point where it came across like he didn't care. One bright spot worth mentioning: my salad came out before the meal with a lot more cheese on top than I expected. As I was picking some off onto a side plate, a manager happened to notice and stopped to ask if I'd prefer a new salad without cheese. I explained it wasn't a mistake, just more than I wanted, but I really appreciated the attention and the offer to make it right.

Suffice to say (before reading my long review) it was not on par with the L street location! The staff were definitely new and learning the menu, but that is to be expected any time a new place is freshly opened. Our server, Blake, was nice though and was learning fast. But with a few other servers, there was one thing that did not come about from being a server in a new restaurant. We were eating and could CLEARLY hear the staff around the corner talking loudly and cursing left and right. I am not a prude about language but it's just not something you see every day at a restaurant with families/kids dining. The size of the restaurant seems a little smaller than the L street location, too. That may be a psychosomatic thing when trying a different location of a place you know, but I definitely felt more cramped. The food is on par with the OG spot, so no complaints there. My usual is the bourbon glazed salmon with the cheesy broccoli on the side. So it was just as tasty as the other location, but I think I'll stick to the L street one mostly going forward.

Celebrating my "hero", my hubby tonight!…read more Thanks Firebird's for the invite. We appreciate the love! I ordered the salmon and the hubby ordred the sea bass. Our sides broccoli and mashed potatoes! The food was good tonight!!! Surprisingly enough, the restaurant was quiet despite being really busy with lots of customers dining inside and outside. I'm not sure anyone had an amazing bite but the menu was large so there is still potential! I will say the one thing that stood out the most to me was the flavor. If the menu item said chipotle, Parmesan, honey, etc then that flavor was there and you could not get away from it! I had Parmesan in my potatoes and salad and it was overpowering. And my friend got the chipotle potatoes au gratin and said he could barely get the potato flavor. We all had the three course meal and most of us got the steak. We all ordered at different temperatures including medium well and they all came out rare or just uneven. It was good flavor and it wasn't too chewy so we all just ate it with no complaints! Along with the three course meal was a mini dessert so we all tried each and they all fell flat. We did get them to-go so maybe that had something to do with it but even a simple brownie wasn't anything great. Overall I want to chalk it up to wrong ordering and hope to come back and try other menu items and some suggestions!
