First Watch, what can I say? It's breakfast, done pretty well. However, I do have a couple of problems. TURKEY SAUSAGE? Seriously...what part of the turkey is sausage? Sausage is pig, pig butt, pig snout, pig ankles and pig things you don't want to think about. But TURKEY...nope. The skillets are good, but this thing with TURKEY sausage is really upsetting to me. I know they are trying to be "health conscious", but breakfast should be the most unhealthy meal of the day. Shoot, we grew up on Fruit Loops and Pebbles, bacon and REAL sausage, why start this health stuff? If it's your birthday, and you let them know, they will give you a First Watch coffee mug. I actually know a family that collects them, which is kind of weird, but whatever. Good food, great service, and good prices. Just get rid of TURKEY sausage and I'll be a happier fellow. read more

Even though this place has been around for a long time, I never went there, never even thought about it. Well, my fiancee convinced me to go a couple of weekends ago, and to this day I'm still having cravings for their food! We went to this place on a Sunday morning about 10, and they were PACKED. It took about a half an hour to get a table, which I determined was was fair with the amount of people waiting to eat, there was only standing room in the lobby. The nice thing is they have coffee for free in front while you wait, and early Sunday morning was the perfect time for it. The coffee isn't bad, but it's a little on the strong side (I don't really like dark roasts). When we got our table I was ready to eat and everything on the menu looked delicious! I had a hard time deciding what to get and got their breakfast scramble, which was eggs, ham, cheese, and fresh spinach on a warm croissant with breakfast potatoes. It was delicious and filling, but not too heavy with grease like most breakfast joints. Our waitress wasn't bad, she had a nice personality, she did forget a couple of things we asked for, but I didn't blame her with as many tables as she was waiting on. If you are wondering about this place, I encourage you to try it, it's great, but get there early enough so you don't have to wait as long. I have never had a bad meal here. They are consistant, exactly what you would expect. I get very good service and always have. The one here in Cornith has been a staple for breakfast and lunch since I was in highschool. It hasn't changed much since then. Most mornings my Father sets himself up in there and reads his paper and catches up with the other regulars. Usually there is a table full of us dentists there for lunch. I'm sure we're usually too loud, but it never seems to bother the staff, and they know not to sit anyone with sensitve ears too close to us! Good food, decent price, great service... Everybody was complaining and frustrated every time somebody was brought their food they were angry towards the host or waitress that brought out the food and I'd hear them all say I've been waiting anywhere from a range of 25-35 minutes and were obviously not happy or satisfied with their service finally after 20 minutes I walked up and decided to cancel my order walked up they said I'll check and they said they haven't started on your entree yet which that and a pancake is all I ordered and a drink I forgot I said just cancel it she said I'd have to call to cancel she wasn't capable so went out left called the number it was to the store where I just left and stated I needed to cancel an order they asked my name and I stated my name and they said ok and hung up. Im not sure if my order was canceled but this is the 3rd time I've waited over 20 minutes for my order I mean good food and service when you're there to down in I just don't think they're very capable of handling online orders and in house dining not everybody can handle multitasking I know you see others doing it and profiting but it doesn't seem like you're built for it, also if first watch reads these can you make sure my order is actually canceled since they said name and then hung up on me? This is my favorite first watch location, and not just because it's walking distance from my house. I really like the layout and the staff is always friendly. Plus I feel like the food is just a little bit better than the other locations. My go-to favorites are the pick two sandwich and tomato soup or the omelet with the turkey sausage gravy on the side. This is also my toddler son's favorite breakfast place and one of the few where he will devour eggs and sausage. The pancakes are plate-sized! Two will fill up my husband. I do prefer going during the week because it's never busy and parking isn't as crazy, but I have never waited longer than 20 minutes on the weekend. read more

After eating here, I was surprised to find out they were a small chain (70 restaurants and counting). The menus were really the only thing about it that were chain-like. The food lacked the usual heaviness (oiliness / butteryness / whatever) you'd find at a Denny's or an IHOP or something. Additionally, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Obviously, the food quality is most important - and it did not disappoint. I had an omelet with veggies, ham and cheese. The vegetables were definitely fresh and crisp. Ham and cheese was added in appropriate proportion to the rest of the toppings. This wasn't a change-my-life omelet or anything, but it was exactly what I wanted. We also had a pumpkin pancake on the side which was great - and I'm not wild about pumpkin. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for First Watches next time I'm on the road. read more

OMG this place is the BEST for breakfast or brunch. I venture to say it is so good that it doesn't need to open all day and closes at 2 p.m. So, if you want to savor delicious pancakes like no other, I highly recommend the Lemon Ricotta blueberry pancakes; savory omelets of all kinds, cooked to order. The wait staff rocks. You will find Giselle particularly accommodating, friendly, efficient and a lovely young lady. The folks there actually remember their regular customers and their orders. The pancakes are interesting - they have many different kids and you can get them mixed or pizza style. As soon as we walked to our table, the server asked what we wanted to drink and we hadn't even sat down yet. She was rushing us to decide everything. My friend and I ordered the french toast and the food came out fast, but when we received it it was raw and still very eggy. Our server did not come over at all even after seeing that we did not eat our food. She only came over to bring our checks and did not ask why we were not eating. At that point, I called over another server and asked if it could be cooked more and he made fresh french toast for us. One order came out still raw on the bottom. Neither our server or the other server apologized or offered any compensation. There was no sympathy and I felt forced to pay full price for a meal I did not enjoy. read more

I love this place. Our server for the past few years has been Vicky's, who has been wonderful, caring, and attentive. The food is consistently excellent and the menu options allow me to always stay on my eating plan, no matter what that plan may be. On the healthy side is tge lean machine and power wrap. On the super yum and super bad for uou comfort food side is bubba's benny - eggs benedict made with biscuits and gravy. Their coffee is bold, fruit is always fresh and a great selection. I appreciate it when a restaurant makes things from scratch AND is decently priced. I must say though, their menu has a lot crammed into it, making decisions harder than a simple egg breakfast. Everything from omelettes, wraps, salads, sandwiches, pancakes, crepes--but with like a zillion options within the categories. You can get pancakes with wheat germ, granola, blueberries, cranberry nut, or plain. I mean, talk about options! And it is healthy, nothing is fried--everything steamed. It makes a difference taste wise, and its for the better. I also liked how they gave free refills for my tea. A lot of places forget about you when you order hot tea, but our waiter kept coming back with hot water. It was nice. read more

I ordered the eggs over medium and they came out literally with butter running around the plate and a coat of butter sitting on the eggs, YUCK! I immediately sent them back, they were nice and understanding as was I buy the hope of that if you use butter no matter what it is that you'd look at the plate and say, "Wow, I shouldn't be able to see the butter and there shouldn't be so much that a napkin is needed to rinse the eggs off." First I love pancakes and no place offers up the daring options like First Watch. Try the Carrot Cake pancakes or Bacon and Cheese pancakes, just two of the most unique options. It's okay they are all multigrain based! The coffee was great too. We started going to this First Watch over others due to location, and have kept going because of the staff from the managers down to the kitchen crew. The food is excellent, and better quality than most other breakfast restaurants: it's a place I can take my kids and their grandfather, and have everyone leave happy. The servers are typically fast, efficient and friendly, especially as you get to know them - this is a high quality waitstaff, not a bunch of teenagers, or a few good servers making the rest look good. Even when we don't get Kassie, who's become one of our favorite servers anywhere, we know we're going to get top-notch service. read more

I'm on the line with First Watch, their meals are the usual edible breakfast fare, not so great but great, the service is always quick, and their online menu has the nutritional information about every dish. Alas nothing really stands out here to me as being a great restaurant. I've been going to the one in Prairie Village of late, seeing that this is adjacent to my new local area. There are several vegetarian items on the menu; all are okay with the exception of the caps etc. If you can imagine mushrooms sauté in cheese grease and salt layered with a blanket of cheese and you think this sounds appetizing then maybe this is the dish for you. I couldn't eat the cheese blanket and even the mushrooms, way too much grease, cheese, and salt. The particular First Watch always has good specials, like eggnog French toast, veggie wraps, and other good things, which is another reason why it's pretty good. Sadly, this First Watch location is not up to par with the others in the metro. I agree with the other reviewers who praised the servers, especially Claudia. There are truly nice and caring employees here. The problem I have with this FW is mainly with the kitchen. They are very inconsistent! Food comes out poorly timed and often lukewarm. I order to-go a lot and in separate occasions they've forgotten my silverware or the butter/syrup for a pancake. I guess that's fine if you are planning on eating at home but if you're taking your meal elsewhere be prepared to be disappointed or to make a trip back. I know this isn't a gourmet kitchen but I'm surprised by how one time you can go and get the most delicate slivers of onion in your omelette and the next time it's like someone threw an onion against a wall, called it "chopped" and put it in the omelette. I've also found pieces of spinach in the sour cream that tops my meal... Which has zero spinach. That tells me there's no care for cross-contamination. Other FW locations are generous with their to-go sides and individually package the gravy or sour cream so the meal isn't a soggy mess later. This one doesn't care. On another note- the decor here is awful. The other locations in town are remodeling to a more open-concept and modern feel. This one is like an old folks cafeteria. I believe FW restaurants are franchised so perhaps whoever owns this one is just super cheap and skimps on the decor and the peppermint twist freebies they rarely give you. Honestly, just drive up to the Fairway location or even the Westport location to have a better experience. It's too bad their great front of house staff can't make up for a lousy kitchen. read more

Very good breakfast place. Nice staff who is helpful. Very good pancakes, and their "Traditional" breakfast is awesome and plenty of food. Lots of times when you get the traditional breakfast with 2 eggs, an english muffin, potatoes, and bacon at other places you get small portions and leave hungry but at First Watch you get plenty of food on a large plate and don't even have to eat it all to leave full. They have good prices and there really isn't anything about it that I think needs improving. I really like it. read more

Came here for brunch with my man after a 10 mile run. We were starving, and chilled since it was 45 out. We were greeted warmly and seated remarkably quick for a mid morning Saturday. I got a hash with onions, bacon, avocado, and potatoes. My eggs, which I asked for over easy, were definitely more over medium so I missed my yolk porn. On the side was an English muffin. The menu didn't specify this, so being GF I didn't know to ask for a replacement. Once it arrived and it was obvious, they quickly replaced it was some yummy bacon, no charge. When you visit the Corinth First Watch location expect to be met by Brad who truly cares about your overall experience. He takes pride in representing this business as if it is his own always promptly greeting you with a sincere smile on his face, coming around asking if he can get you anything else and means when he tells you thanks & come back to see us! Even if there is a long line on the weekends, they have complimentary coffee for the coffee drinkers to tide you over until your table is ready. I can not think of another restaurant that offers this as you wait. The tables do turn at a good rate and have never felt rushed like they were trying to turn your table. I hope you visit over and over and get to experience Claudia taking care of you. She is a real gem! I have witnessed several times a patron telling her that their eggs were to done or wanted their English muffin more toasted as examples. Without any hesitation, she tells you she is on it to get it the way you like it. She wants to make sure you are happy and getting what you paid for. One of Claudia's best attributes is her taking an interest in getting to know her customers which many would call her a friend. She goes beyond this "just being a job".
