First Watch is my family's favorite breakfast place. After my mom's appointment, we went to the nearest First Watch--the Prairie location. For me if the service is great, the food will taste great. The service here was excellent. Manager Jayjay was very welcoming, and the servers were friendly and attentive. The ambiance is relaxing and clean. We will definitely come back here, especially with family.

Came here the day after Christmas with a pretty large group. They were able to get us all in for lunch. The staff was very attentive! The food was great. We shared the seasonal donuts holes and they were so amazing wow. Their drinks are great, the tonics are so delicious. I got the chorizo omelette for my meal and that was delicious . Comes with toast and leafy greens! Huge portion. Couldn't finish. Love this place as always!

    Tastes as good it looks!

Lemon Ricotta Pancakes...always my favorite, but possibly least healthy, menu item at First Watch!Imagine 3 layers of tender, fluffy ricotta pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and tantalizingly tart lemon curd...a match made in culinary Heaven! Treat yourself, and hit the gym later! My friend had the Elevated Egg Sandwich, which I can't believe I'd never even noticed before, and will for sure order next time. Like most First Watch offerings, the presentation alone makes your mouth water. And it's hard (for me, anyway) to resist "Fresh, over-easy cage-free egg with bacon, Gruyere cheese, fresh smashed avocado, mayo and lemon dressed arugula on a brioche bun. Served with fresh, seasoned potatoes." Oh, the perfectly browned potatoes!

Pumpkin doughnuts, biscuits & gravy, million dollar potatoes. OH SOOOOO YUMMY!!!!

For those of you familiar with @davidvenable from QVC, I was doing his happy dance on my third bite!! This food is fabulous! We delightfully enjoyed biscuits & gravy (×2), million dollar potatoes, and these seasonal delectable pumpkin doughnut nuggets in luscious apple butter. *insert Homer Simpson drool here* We had planned on some broccoli cheddar soup, which is THE BEST in town, but it wasn't the soup of the day. The only thing we don't enjoy is the coffee. It is so strong and bitter no matter how much cream and sugar I add. No bother. Lots of other options. Everyone is happy and attentive. Can you tell I LOVE this place?!!

Traditional- eggs over easy, sausage, potatoes & toast..Yum

As always, First Watch is top notch. Stuffed after eating breakfast. Traditional breakfast today.

Nice location in Leawood. To start, one of the silverware set and one coffee cup was not clean. Once this was corrected, everything went great. The cinnamon pancakes were hot and warm syrup was brought to our table. The 'Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl' (Protein-packed quinoa mixed with kale, shredded carrots and house-roasted tomatoes topped with grilled all-natural lemon) was exceptionally good and very fresh. Excellent waitress service. I would give 4.5 if possible. The only negative was my 2nd sentence.

I'm definitely a First Watch fan. Their food is traditional brunch fare, but with some fun surprises and more healthy ingredients than at most other breakfast/brunch chains. Service is always good, and their coffee is fantastic. They leave a freshly brewed pot on the table and have plenty of different flavored creamers available to add, if that's your thing. They also have a rotating menu of juices and juice drinks that are all really delicious.

Honestly, first watch never fails to exceed my expectations. A true masterpiece and craft is winded into every dish perfectly pleasing my tastebuds like no other. I have no words for the kind service and lovely atmosphere. Never disappoints.

After several visits over the years, I've only had their coffee and pastries, not their cafe food. The interior is cute and there's often a queue upon entering to order at the counter, but don't let that intimidate you because it moves fast. I recommend getting some of their water on tap (both still and sparkling water are available) if you have to wait! If you're queer like me, you'll likely be drinking a cold black coffee and they have options! They have a regular cold brew in 3 sizes, a cold brew of the moment / seasonal (ask about it!) and a cold brew shandy for something different. My partner and I got two different cold brews on tap today, the original and the Seasonal Single Origin Honduran one. The single origin Honduran was better, but their original was good too. There's a lot of seating, but it's usually taken up, so I tend to just take my coffee to go. Expect to walk out for around $6ish a cup. They clearly care about providing you a good experience with a strong cup of coffee. Give them a shot if you're in downtown Overland Park!

A father and daughter duo next to me showed up in a dandy double breasted suit and a princess dress. I wish the food was as good as the vibe. The coffee, while decent, was lukewarm and the scone I got was stale and dry, coming close to inedible. This, at a cost of nearly $11 after tax. It's near terrible food definitely doesn't stop people from coming in, again, you are in one of the nicest areas of downtown OP and have limited coffee competition, so I guess food quality isn't your number one concern.

They absolutely have the processes of this little restaurant honed to perfection, and even during a busy lunch time kept things humming so that there was minimal wait time (to order, for the food to be brought out, and to pay for our meal). Many, MANY thanks to Robert, who seated us, took our order, brought our food out, and settled our bill. He was friendly, efficient, and so welcoming. It was a joy to watch him work; he made sure to greet each and every customer coming in the door, and was consistently so upbeat and positive. And many, MANY thanks to Tony at the grill! Our food was FANTASTIC!! I have high standards for Mediterranean food, and the falafel wrap was totally delicious! The falafel itself was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outer layer, and the other ingredients in the wrap were chosen for a perfect melding of flavors. I had the side salad, with homemade Thai peanut dressing, and it was equally tasty. My husband had the patty melt, which came on homemade bread (!) and was, per his report, perfectly done. His side was tater tots, and we shared them. They were crisp and light without being greasy, and addictively yummy! The restaurant is in a strip center; it's not very big, but the tables are well placed so that no one feels cramped. The open reception area and kitchen/grill make it easy for the staff to respond to what's happening in the dining room (e.g., new folks arriving). It was a truly memorable meal, and we'll definitely be back! Again, MANY thanks to Robert and Tony for such a great lunch. We appreciate you!

I have typically gone to the Merriam location as it is closer but they are just going to have this location remain open. The owner is very nice and welcoming and she is updating and always rotating items for it to remain fresh for clients. They also have new and cheaper monthly fee which is a great deal. It is a nice atmosphere but they do need to remember to keep the music playlist playing as it is nice to relax to. The only reason I gave this location a 4 was because when I first entered the play area it was a complete disaster. There were only 2 parents at the time but they never picked up after their kids and it was hard to find matching toy items as they were everywhere. This is not typical of the Merriam location so it's probably just an issue today. They might want to suggest to parents to pick up after their child once they leave a specific area. I ended up picking the place up because the parents left and then it was more obvious to my grandson and other kids that came what toys there were available in each area.

My out of town guests love them too when I bring them here. I'm here to rave about their weekend only croissants. You can only get them on Saturday or Sunday because it takes a days to ferment and laminate the dough. The quality of their ingredients shines in even the simplest plain croissant. I'll occasionally venture into the chocolate or almond version. They rival some of the best I've had in NYC, SF or Paris. In KC, the only other rivals can be found at French Market or Sour Rabbit Bakery. I'm glad their croissants are weekend only so I can have them as an occasional treat. I find their other pastries, especially the tarts, biscuits or scones are also lovely. For a baked goods focused spot, I'd say their cold brew is also pretty great quality as well. Usually I'd go to another coffee shop for a fix, but I'm okay grabbing both a croissant and cold brew here. I haven't been for their "after hours" dinner specials, but that's next on my to do list there!

Julian, the Director, is a fan of this place and he'd sometimes order an array of cakes for the staff to enjoy, they always went fast, and it was my first foray into European style cakes like what Andre's serves up. Flash forward more than a decade and I've been here a few times, sometimes to get chocolates for a friend, other times (like last night) for a meal. I didn't realize that Andre's does special events like their fondue nights. I have a feeling these are annual so you might have to wait until 2027 to snag a seat at the table, but their fondue meal was so much fun and comes with some history from their staff. Fun thing I learned was that they sell their fondue year round in the shop so if you ever want to do a unique date night at home just pop into Andres and purchase some to-go. It would be such a fun way to spend a Saturday at home. Finally, I'm going to add that for me what takes Andre's to the next level and makes it a must visit spot in KC is the history. It's been in the same family for generations, the recipes are authentic, and the owners are really kind people. It's the kind of business you can feel good about supporting and I'll be back!
