I have read some of the past reviews about poor service, but this has never been my experience there. I always order off the breakfast menu (which is available till closing), and it's a pleasant change from other breakfast places I have tried. My favorite is one of the skillet hashes, even though it's over 1000 calories (they provide calorie information on the menu), so I have to consider that two meals. We were visiting from out of town and came for breakfast. I ordered the plate with 2eggs, over medium, waffle, and extra crispy bacon. Two of the other guests ordered omelets. We had our 2 year old granddaughter with us. She wanted oatmeal. None on the children's menu, so we ordered it for her from the regular menu. Our waiter finally brought coffee and water, we never did get the toddler's milk. Our order arrived and we served ourselves from his arms. Really, basic 101 in serving! After the adults served themselves, he realized the toddler did not yet have her meal. Off he went to get it. My eggs were over really easy, the waffle was so cold the butter did not even melt. The bacon was cooked correctly but also cold. My granddaughter ate some of my breakfast while waiting for hers. We asked for coffee and instead of coffee we got the check. I requested coffee again and this time we actually got some. For what we paid, I would have been happier to make breakfast at home. I was really looking forward to a treat of breakfast out (my favorite) but was very disappointed in my meal and the service. I guess the omelets were ok, no one raved about them, but they did not say anything bad either. We won't be back. read more

Ordered carry-out breakfast at 7:40. Was told it would be about 10 minutes. I didn't even leave my house until 8:00 because I wasn't trying to sit around and wait in a First Watch at 8AM. Upon arrival the front cashier girl obviously didn't have my order, but instead of asking what I had or addressing that .... She walked to and from the kitchen for about 10 minutes before rudely telling me I must have called a different First Watch. I had left my purse in the car because I thought this was going to be fast... I had to go get my phone out of my car to prove I had called their location, and spoken to her. After "proving" to her she was mistaken, she retook my order and put a "rush" on it. Holy shit, can't even make this up.. Writing this as I wait. Food just came out and the guy asked if I had paid or not. I hadn't. Should have said I had in retrospect. As I pay I see that my order receipt laying on the counter says it was input at 7:43?!? He hands me my food, which is obviously cold AF by this time since it's nearly 40 minutes old. Wow lol truly ridiculous. Whomever works the front was super rude and incompetent. I'll stick to Eggtc. First Watch is a franchise and is usually very good. This one is no exception. The fruit is fresh, the pancakes hot and fluffy, the eggs made to order and service is quite fine. They will cater to kids special needs and the staff is pleasant and eager to help with menu choices and ideas. read more

First is a can't go wrong for breakfast. I'm a pescetarian, and don't eat the meat choices of the traditional breakfast. The waiter (a vegetarian) suggested a great substitution for the Italian sausage in parma hash and solved the meat problem. It was a fabulous suggestion. The meal was great. read more

Went here for brunch visiting the littlest spawn of my parents. I must say I was impressed. Aside from the hideous artwork, they have healthy options...every kind of breakfast food possible. When you order coffee, they leave the carafe at the table which is nice. The speed they bring out your order is also impressive. They break the check up into seat orders which is nice, but big sister had to pay for breakfast for everyone. No worries, it's very affordable. I've been a regular at the prairie village location for 20 years. The staff has always been great and the service over the past 3 to 5 years is exceptional. Gaby, in particular, is fabulous and makes you feel like you are home. My business will be moving offices shortly, so I won't be able to eat at this location regularly. We have enjoyed First Watch since moving here a little over five years ago. The wait staff has been very good. Jazheel, Claudia, Gaby, and Quincy, have been terrific. We hated to see Claudia leave. These girls always take time to speak with us for a moment while not ignoring other customers. Only had healthy stuff on the breakfast menu Food was good, for healthy food. Nice looking place. Quick. Nice staff. That said its not my sort of place. The reviews I read didn't say anything about it being a heath restaurant! But it sure seemed to be to me. Multi-grain pancakes? Avocado and veggies in everything? Turkey instead of pork etc? No thanks! Even though there were lots of people there my waitress was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I won't be back but it was a good experience. I went to First Watch with a couple of friends, one of whom really likes this place so I had pretty high expectations. I ordered the Killer Cajun omelet and it was not bad, but I didn't love it so I would order something else if I returned to this restaurant. The description said "Spicy Cajun" so I thought it'd have more of a kick to it than it did. On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd say it was at about a 1.5 for spiciness. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of spiciness, so I added Tabasco sauce to the last few bites and that helped, but I would've preferred a spicier cajun flavor. I also ordered the Day Glow (carrot/orange/lemon/ginger juice). The color was a gorgeous, vibrant orange, but I didn't think the taste was quite as gorgeous. The ginger was very overpowering. I don't mind ginger, in fact Trader Joe's sells a Lemon/Echinacea/Ginger juice that I really enjoy, but I thought the taste of the Day Glow was about a 2.5 or 3. I would say that the highlight of my meal was the balsamic vinaigrette that comes with the "Dressed Greens." I requested the balsamic vinaigrette on the side and I'm really glad I did because the flavor was delicious but strong, so it may have been too much had the greens come dressed in it. Our waitress was nice and didn't try to rush us out when we finished our food even though the restaurant was packed out and there was a line of people waiting to get in. We were so wrapped up in our conversation that we really didn't notice at first. We left her extra tip when we got up and left to thank her for her patience. It was not a bad experience so if my friend who likes this place wanted to eat here again for breakfast, I'd be up for it since I do prefer it to IHOP, but I most likely wouldn't suggest it if I was going out to breakfast with another friend. read more

I'm a big First Watch fan and I don't like writing such a bad review. I have visited this location several times over the last year and each time my experience has been worse. This past week I visited and my experience was very poor. Service was very slow, food was wrong, food was remade and the omelette tasted burned, veggies in the omelette were chopped into very tiny pieces that were virtually tasteless, and the toast was cold with unmelted butter on it. I'm really sad to see this location deteriorate so badly. I will continue to be a FW fan and eat at other locations, but I will be avoiding this location until substantial improvements are made. read more

My family goes to First Watch almost every Sunday. Every time we try somewhere new we just wish we had gone to FIrst Watch. The food is consistently very good and reasonably priced. Our server Brittany is amazing. When we first started coming, she happened to be our waitress a couple weekends in a row. First watch has great food and we have never had a problem until this morning. The resturaunt was not busy by any means. The server was helping 5 or 6 people at the cash register. There was another woman at the other register not helping anyone so we asked her to be seated. She told us to just wait for the server to finish. So we wait 5 minutes or so until he's is done while she just stands at the other register. Once he's done he tells us to just have a seat over there ( pointing at a dirty table) and he would have it cleaned in a minute. We left and drove to the one o n 95th. We've never had problems at any other of the stores, but I doubt we will return to this location . read more

I love first watch! Always have but I must say out of all the ones I have been to this location has always given me the best service! Claudia is usually my server and she always remembers me even when I don't come that often. Also she always goes the extra mile! I recently was put on an extremely difficult and restrictive diet and she went above and beyond to help make my meal the best it could be with the ingredients they have. It was a great meal! My wife and I met my daughter and her two kids, along with my son and his wife for breakfast. Wait time 30 minutes. At 40 minutes the manger came over and told me they would be seating us at tables that where about to open up. While they were cleaning the tables a waitress, Kelsey, sat what appeared to be her friends or family. I spoke to the hostess who advised they would seat us when another table cleared ... but that was only space for 6 for the 8 of us. I couldn't find the manager so I took a seat at the currently open table and he came over to ask what I was doing. I explained the situation. He saw the problem and began to relocate the 4 people Kelsey sat. Kelsey openly voiced her dissatisfaction with his decision and said she wouldn't wait on us. Eventually another waitress took care of us. The "manager" never spoke to me about the horrible experience my family and I had in his resturant, or the attitude Kelsey continued to openly voice with her friends ... but he did cut the bill in half. First Watch is a convenient and a great place to go for breakfast and lunch! The servers, like Vicky, are wonderful; they are on the toes to see that your needs are met in a timely manner so that your food is served as it should be, your drinks are filled, and that you are satisfied with your meal. Sometimes it is the little things that make a restaurant "click." Seeing Brad, the manager, making sure that certain people meet up together, your food is served on time, or that you are greeted with that certain smile that invites you in to stay AND come back. I gave this place 5 stars because it has so many good perks: free coffee sample when you come in, nice decor, good food, and best of all: awesome servers. Today, our server was Angela and she did a great job taking our order, being attentive to our needs throughout our meal, offering "to go" containers, and even taking the check w our card to the register for us so we didn't have to be bothered with that.
