Stopped by for Mother's Day Brunch, as it was close to home. Expected a long wait, as it was Mother's Day, even for 9:30 AM. BUT you can check in on Yelp, and get in on the waitlist before ever arriving at the restaurant. They offer fresh juices, that are at the top of the menu. The lemonade is not fresh squeezed though, as I did ask. The waitress was almost embarrassed to admit this when we asked. She said "I don't normally tell people, but no its not." Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their meal. There was a children's meal ordered, french toast, and 3 orders of eggs benedict. The flavor was great, the sourdough bread on mine was a little over toasted, burnt on the bottom, but I could get over this. The thing I could not get over was out of the 2 eggs, one was poached perfectly, one was literally hard boiled. This happened to one of the other egg benedict plates as well. The waitress seemed to just brush it off, stating "I'll let the kitchen staff know so they can pay more attention to this." She did offer to remake the plate, but we were almost done, and that seemed like a waste. Would I come back, sure, if there was no wait. Not worth the wait in my opinion. Well, we ended up eating here again, just a different location. Food was still good, service was decent, though our waitress did forget my bacon and didn't realize that my husband's dish came with tomatoes (something he specifically asked her to make sure wasn't included), so that was a bit of a bummer. I'll still give this place 4 stars because even though the waitress had some mess-ups, we still enjoyed ourselves and our food. Background music is very loud there. Can barely hear the person I am having breakfast with. Staff is very friendly and food is awesome every time. Streaming music has got a lot of static, like it's off station it does not create a relaxing environment for breakfast and a positive start to the day. Ive been to this location twice now and once to another location. Im definitely a fan! The first time I came here I got the trifecta. I got scrambled eggs, bacon and a Belgium waffle. It was so good! I got that because it was what I had at the other location. This past time I went, I got the Floridian french toast. Oh my goodness, it was so good! It was 2 big peices of french toast with strawberries, bananas and kiwi on top. They also sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon but I asked to have that left of mine. We also ordered the million dollar bacon. OMG. If you've never had it, order it. It was so good! The staff has always been friendly every time we've gone. Had a Chorizo omelette- the pico de gallo sauce is homemade and doesn't come from a jar. The omelette isn't too heavy. Love the strawberry jam on the multigrain toast and the house salad dressing isn't overpowered by vinegar. Overall, I think the portion size is perfect and the dish tasted great. read more

The silverware had stains and food scrapes and we had to ask all three sets to switch out and washed separately. My breakfast quinoa bowl just didn't seem fresh. He quinoa was too tangy. This first watch is always either a pleasure or okay experience and Sunday it was a pleasurable experience. We didn't want to wait so we sat at the community table up front. At the community table service was great and fast! The food tasted great only bad thing was the sauce cup of fruit my friend received with their meal and me having to ask for the preserve that came with the meal. There was only one busser and lots of dirty tables which is reason for star deduction as if they were clean we would have preferred to sit alone as we weren't in a rush. read more

My bf took me here for breakfast to try something new and different. I actually liked it more than The Egg & I. The ambiance is a bit more quaint and rustic and the wait staff were friendly. The cold brewed iced coffee was not great but the Pear Cider was fantastic. I got the power wrap and it was nothing exciting, typical egg white wrap. My bf however got the A.M. Superfood Bowl which neither of us have ever had Chia Seed Pudding before and it was surprisingly delicious. So much so that we have attempted to make our own at home. read more

Went here after an early 14 mile bike ride. We were in desperate need of coffee and food! Coffee strong, hot and a perk they had sugar in the raw, which alot of places dont have. I didnt want to undo the calories I had just burned so although I wanted the pork belly and grits, I settled for the Healthy Turkey which is an Egg white omelet with Turkey, spinach and, onions feta... see the menu for full description. I loved the Egg and I. I loved the First Watch I went to in Katy, TX. I don't love this First Watch! It was ridiculous busy on a Sunday morning. I understand that. It shouldn't take 30+ minutes to deliver a disappointing, cool egg white (I thought it would be real eggs with yolks) breakfast. Even the toast was not hot. I had ordered a Morning Meditation drink that should've been served shortly after the coffee, of which I had one cup, yet I had to ask for it after my entree was served. I am familiar with the server as he worked here when it was Egg & I. The insult came when he said they would comp the coffee! I didn't care about the coffee! The entire meal was a disappointment. 10 star if i could, First Watch takes your traditional breakfast to a whole new level. There is no compairing this roustic yet new age breakfast & brunch spot to your basic ihops and dennys. With so many delicious options to choose from accompanied with a staff whos entire focus is on the guest experience you will quickly find yourself poping in once or twice a week. So sad to read the low-ball reviews due to the no longer existing "egg & i" or the 30 min wait times you will possibly encounter during the after church brunch rushes. . but hey , i dare you to go during the week and look at this hot spot as something new. Horrible service. Waitress never brought me the water I ordered. Waited 30 mins for her to return to my table and she never did. I finally had to get up and ask another server for water and to check on our food. She walked by my table several times and never checked on us or even made eye contact with me, so I could grab her attention. Food finally came 45 minutes later. Ridiculous. We've been to this place once before, & it was good enough for us to return. Unfortunately today, we didn't get to try the food. Sat down and started looking through our menus. About 5 minutes later, a waiter comes, greets & starts asking the table next to us what they want for drinks....after they quite literally, just sat down. She goes and gets their drinks, serves them...& walks away. She comes back for a third time and gets their order, meanwhile, we're still waiting to even be looked at. Probably the most unsettling feeling, because then you start wondering why you're being ignored. Is it the clothes, the race, the fact that they were two young males, & we're a woman & child? I've been coming to this place for over 8 years, & the main changes with the new name are cosmetic. The menu is virtually the same but formatted very differently, and the seating/decor is modern chic farmhouse IMO. But the food is still fabulous & the service still competent. Will continue to brunch here! read more
