First impressions: Monday morning at 10:50. Waited with another group for several minutes at the door with no one manning the front of the house. Lots of empty tables. Same staff from the old egg n I. Menu still has egg n i items like the avacado toast and juices with kale. Focus is on farm fresh food. Maybe a little more meat items, but plenty of noon meat meals for the vegetarians. Same egg n I prices. Wait staff was efficient and pleasant. Iced coffee was just right and not too terribly sweet. Mmm the pork belly bacon on grits with poached eggs was delish. Waitress checked on me several times. So the only problems here are the lack of front of the house management and the name. Yes, what's with these strange names? It took me several years to try the egg n I because the name just kind of grossed me out. Now this name is not going to help the business either. I had planned to get some Thai to go, but on New Year's Day the Thai restaurant was closed until the afternoon, so I stopped in here. The fresh juice was amazing, the menu selections were great. Just had the worst experience at First Watch, our first time ever going. Waited 20-30 minutes to be sat at a table that was open when we got there. Sat down and ordered and our food came out almost an hour later, completely cold and cooked wrong. Waitress came by and asked how things were and I told her cold and cooked wrong and we were just ready to go and she said y'all are free to leave, I'm not gonna make you pay for anything, then walked away. Didn't bother to get the manager or anything. Do not go there. We left and are going to Jim's instead. read more

This establishment does not give good customer service!! I've dined here many times and love having it in the neighborhood. Today I had an unfortunate event happen, an unexpected flat tire occurred after I placed my to go order. I immediately called the restaurant to let them know and ask if they could accommodate a later pick up since this was completely out of my control. I was told no. When I asked repeatedly for them to reconsider and help me out since I was a regular customer, again I was told no. That I would have to buy a new meal if I wanted to pick up my food later. At this point there is nothing the management of this establishment could say as their excuse to change my mind, this is terrible customer service! Next time, help your neighbor out, I would've left a massive tip and a rave review had they been helpful. Also, next offer to refund the money for food not able to be picked up. Great fresh food! Huge portions and awesome ingredients. Had avocado toast, blueberry pancake was delicious, and turkey egg white omlette. Food is good. Service wasn't. Put water and menu on table came back a minute later and asked if we were ready to order. I hadn't viewed the one menu and asked for more time. About 30 minutes later the hostess came and took our order. About 20 minutes later our soup and sandwich came. We were contacted by First Watch customer service and were asked to give this place another shot. This was a MUCH better experience. Our server was pleasant and did a great job taking care of us. First visit to any First Watch and what a treat it was! The decor is fun, open, clean and inviting. We walked in to a welcoming smile and an immediate greeting. Immediately, it felt like a great choice for brunch on a Saturday at 1pm.. Our server was great! Corrina took great care of us and couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. All of our food was delicious - the iced coffee was one of the tastiest I have had in a long time. (Admittedly, it's been a loooooooong time since I have had an iced coffee ;). Granddaughter and I went there at noon. She had the açaí bowl and iced coffee. Even got an ice coffee to go. Said it was delicious. I got the tribeca with ham. Pancake is huge, only ate half. Very good. The only complaint was the million dollar bacon. We each took one bite. Wasn't good. Waitress was very attentive and took the bacon off our check. Hadn't tried it since it was The Egg & I so we decided to give it a go. Waitress was very nice. Food was okay at best. Recipes looked good on paper but execution seemed off. One plate was extremely over salted..the other was not as warm as it should be for freshly cooked food. Biscuit was not fresh and was sliced open and toasted in order to reheat. OK. I am just a plain type eater so the selection was too upscale for me. Great for clean eaters and hipsters. Kale smoothies, multi grain pancakes (no "regular" pancakes), plenty of quinoa and gluten free options. Coffee was weak and luke warm. Actually everything was lukewarm eggs, potatoes and toast. Bacon was delicious. Lol. The food was Very bland, little to no seasoning. ... extremely disappointed... if you are going to pay $38.00 for breakfast go to Snooze (it is well worth the wait). I want to live there :D Seriously, the food is high quality and the service is excellent. I'm a regular, so they already know my usual requests, and they remember! Once in a while they are a little understaffed or are training a new server, and the service is affected (not enough to keep me away). If that happens, ask for what you need (butter? jam? whatever) and be patient. All of the servers are true professionals and very sweet. The Trifecta is always good. If my food isn't exactly as I ordered they quickly make it right. The omelets are a good size and tasty. The pancakes are delicious, only one per order but it's the size of a hubcap. The avocado toast is delicious, but then I miss my sugary carbs :D The coffee! Colombian coffee of excellent flavor, no bite, but not weak, either. I would suggest that they sell it by the pound (ground or whole bean) to make at home, but, then if they are spread too thin the quality might suffer. My only complaint is that they are not open in the evening. Once in a while, by that I mean a few times a week, I'm craving breakfast for dinner, and they are closed. The food was well prepared, the kids menu has really good options and the service was on point. Overall, a very good experience. Just visited for the first time. I enjoyed the Kale Tonic green juice to start. So refreshing! Then I got the pick 2 with half Market Veggie Sandwich. Best sandwich ever!! The tomato basil soup was delicious as well. I ordered takeout the Chicken Salad Melt to take to my mother. She said it's the best chicken salad she's ever eaten! Wanted to give this place a try since it became First Watch! We LOVED it! The restaurant had a very homey, laid back ambiance. Tables weren't too close together, music was just right and the staff was very attentive. But the best part was the food. It came out correctly and very very quickly and was hot and delicious. Our table had the Elevated Egg Sandwich, the Farmhouse Hash, a Belgian Waffle and a Carrot Cake Stack. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The syrup came to the table warmed, the carafe of ice water was freezing, the home made toast was delicious, the home made jam was better than any I've made and the coffee was hot and smooth. We have recently gone to Eggspectation, Snooze and IHOP and this place is our new fave for breakfast! read more

I loved the egg and I. First watch looks really nice on the inside, decor wise, but I'm very disappointed in the service I received today. Maybe they were understaffed, but my coffee was cold and my waiter was colder. I saw a lot of employees standing around when there was obvious work to be done. And I had to get up from my seat and approach two waiters to remind them to bring syrup two separate times. Yeah it's fresh food, but the service is far from the egg and I that I knew. The WORST first experience in what I thought would be a great new restaurant! Almost sent me to the ER! I have a dairy allergy and am very careful when I eat out to tell them this and order things that I know I can eat. Well, this place bills itself as a healthy specialty breakfast and lunch place - sure to have something I can eat, right? Well, it appeared they did, with just substitution - change out the buttery brioch for plain toast will the veggie burger. . She made a note on the ticket - no dairy. Well, 20 minutes later (yes, it took 20 minutes for my food to arrive - in a restaurant with literally TWO other customers...) it appeared the bread had been grilled. I asked her if they used butter to grill it. She said no. I asked her to check with the kitchen. ...and yes, they grilled it with butter!!! I was so mad! First of all, this kind of incompetence would have sent me to the ER. Second, this was my lunch hour, and I did not have time (or trust them) to correct order, so no lunch for me! read more

We were family with First Watch for years up in Kansas City, MO, and were happy to see this location switch over from Egg & I.
