This is one of my favorite places in Tampa to grab breakfast. I really enjoy the pancakes. Although it does get very busy on the weekends with up to a 45 minute wait they do offer free coffee while waiting. Big fan of this place. read more

On vacation and visited this place for the first time. Tracey our server was very informative in letting us all know about the menu and favorite picks. She was very attentive and kind. Food was amazing I had their special short rib Benedict....WOW , the flavors were amazing and I loved the Parmesan cream sauce upon the poached eggs. The only reason why I didn't give this place a 5 star is that my food came out with only one poached egg, and Tracey our server said that only one made it to the plate and that she was bringing me out one. She did bring me two more poached eggs, then I had asked her to bring me extra cream sauce to put on the egg that didn't make it to the plate lol. Because of the inconvenience, of the issue with my plate , she kindly took off my meal from our bill which I thought was amazing customer service and pleased me as a first time patron. Nice spot for breakfast/brunch food -- you have to get there before 2 PM since they close early. I love their blueberry pancake -- oh and their pancakes are the size of a large plate....so bring a healthy appetite. The wait staff and cashier were pleasant and attentive. read more

Walked in the door and stood there waiting to be greeted. The manager walked right past us and did not say a word. We were finally seated. I asked what the muffin of the day was and was told lemon poppy. So I ordered a lemon muffin, breakfast potatoes, and bacon. I am then told there are no lemon muffins. So I went with a banana muffin. The banana muffin was tasteless and the bacon was served cold. The breakfast potatoes were bland. If it weren't for the Cholula hot sauce, my potatoes would not have been edible. I am not quite sure why it took so long for my cold breakfast to arrive. I have been to other First Watch locations and have never had bad food or service. I will not be wasting my time or money here again. High disappointed. read more

First review of 2016! Came here for brunch and it was busy but not too busy. I liked how they took your number and text you when your table is ready. The menu was great they offered many options for breakfast and a healthier side. I was not being healthy today so I got the banana granola pancakes with a side of egg. I think it is weird that they don't have prices next to some of their drinks on the menu. I liked how their food is from local fresh organic resources. Another great addition was that you can switch out your regular eggs for egg whites at no additional charge. That is good because usually their is an up charge for that. This place is good but I have had better places that offer a similar menu. I think I will need to try other things before I give it a 5 but the pancakes were definitely good. They were multigrain and had the banana and granola cooked into the pancake instead of on top. I prefer that. I don't think their pancakes are as huge as they say they are on the menu. They are not as big as kekes so if your order three and are hungry you should be able to finish them. The kale tonic caught my interest but I didn't order it I'll save it for a non cheat day ;-) read more

How can you go wrong with First Watch? It's one of my favorite breakfast places because while they have the normal breakfast items, the meal is never greasy and service is always fast. I'd give First Watch 5 stars is they had a bigger waiting area. Since there is always a wait, it would be nice to not have to crowd into the small area or wait outside in the Florida heat. read more

Looks like I've found my go to breakfast place! I guess I'm not the only one as it was packed on a Sunday morning around 9. Well worth the wait though! The Works Omelette was to die for. My girlfriend's eggs Benedict looked delicious as well. My only complaint was that they seemed to be understaffed for the amount of people that were there. Great service. We liked that they bring out a glass quart of water to your table and a carafe of coffee, if you order it. My husband and I always drink our coffee black, but we both added a creamer and sugar to it to make it drinkable. It just wasn't tasty. It wasn't bitter, but it just wasn't good. The menu is impressive looking. I got the chickichana and my husband got the chorizo and chili omelet. Neither of us liked our food very much. Everything was pretty bland. Maybe we didn't order the right things? The potatoes with the chickichana tasted more like onions than potatoes. My husband ordered grits with his entree and they were really soupy. We had such high hopes because there has ALWAYS been a crowd waiting for tables when we've driven past before. We're not sure what the fuss is all about. read more

The food is good. The service is lacking for the price you pay in my opinion. Had to wait for hot chocolate, had to wait for orange juice. My food was delicious!!! However my server had a hard time serving me. I'd ask her to get me something and she wouldn't be back for a few. I'm a huge fan of breakfast food and this place satisfies that special craving. The menu has many favorites and twists on the classics. I got the trifecta, a basic meal consisting of two eggs, bacon or sausage, choice of pancake or waffle, and I also ordered a side of home fries to go with it. It was absolutely delicious ! And that blueberry pancake is one of the best I've had. I also sampled my mothers breakfast burrito....wow! And also my nana's bacon avocado hash...everything was Devine and obviously carefully prepared and fresh. The orange juice is fresh squeezed....yum. I absolutely adore this little place, all thanks to my wonderful parents who introduced me to it. They often ( too often that all the waiters and waitresses already know what they will order!) come here for breakfast on the weekends for some "elderly time" alone and found it by curoisity. The IT place to go to for breakfast and brunch. For once, a breakfast chain (yes, a chain... but only 6 in Tampa!) that serves fresh good quality food! Interior design is simple with that "Sunshine Florida" feel. I'm quite sensitive with smell, and unlike the damp carpet+frying oil+unknown aroma I would find at Dennys, iHope, or Village Inn, FirstWatch has a clean atmosphere even with the open kitchen and you won't leave smelling like their kitchen! A giant and colorful chalkboard is mounted on the wall displaying "Specials of the day". Severs are all very friendly and prompt. Menu is simple but has a wide selection to choose from: Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch. The food are actually healthy and tasty (how can that be!) I noticed a lot of the meals contain avocado in it's recipe but if you don't like avocado you can ask to omit it. Pancakes are not floppy and soggy like the other restaurants but rather really big (as the plate), light crisp on the outside and soft in the inside. Toasts are wholewheat I believe and the cubed potatoes contain little oil. Service was friendly, and mostly quick (we did have to wait a while for the check). Food was good. As someone mentioned before, lots of dishes with avocados. I happen to loooove avocados, so this wasn't an issue for me. Our breakfast was served with hash browns and fruit salad, another plus for me. Coffee wasn't awesome, but I rarely find great coffee at a place like this. Definitely will be back. read more

Been to 3 different First Watches in the last 2 months and they all are very good. The food quality across all the locations is great. The service is not. We went to the Dale Mabry location and our server was a bit of a space cadet. She was very nice but way behind. She was all over the place and did not return for long periods of time. She's lucky the food was still great. It may have been an off day for her but that could have been our first time there too. I forgive First Watch for this one experience and will return for the Market Hash, so freaking good! read more

The Food was great the atmosphere is earthy/ trendy / hipster . Just be prepared to drop approx $90/with tip for breakfast ( egg skillets/pancakes/coffee/choc milk ) ( 2 kid 3 adults ) . The breakfast are delicious and hot. The decor is light and airy. I like that they use local and organic. They are aiming at healthy and they are right on.
