Greeted the moment we walked up to the door. Even though they were very busy, we only waited about five minutes for our table. Service was great from start to finish. The million dollar bacon was insanely delicious and absolutely lived up to the hype. The power wrap was amazing--the combination of flavors worked perfectly--and the side that came with it was very fresh. Overall, a fantastic experience.

We stopped in for breakfast on Friday to try the fall menu and use a buy one get one coupon. Chadwick was a friendly and attentive server. I just had a traditional breakfast. I remember the potatoes being better the last visit. My husband chicken-changa was a little sweeter than he prefers, all else tasted fabulous, and we loved the pumpkin spice donut holes! They came with a caramel and a creme dipping sauce and the presentation was really nice!! We also had plenty of food to take home!

Enjoyed again today! Learned that some items like Eggs Benedict are not available when ordering online because they don't travel well. So if you want something like Eggs Benedict you will need to call and place your order. But excellent food just like EVERY TIME!

    "The coffee bar display"
    Elizabeth R.

We've been weekly customers at First Watch for many years, but our recent visit was incredibly disappointing under the new management. It feels like the heart of this location is gone. For starters, they advertise a coffee bar, but there was no coffee available for waiting guests. When we asked an employee if we could have some coffee since the mugs, cups, creamers, and sugars were there, they told us it was just for display. As regulars, we know this used to be a nice touch while waiting, not anymore. The wait times were completely inaccurate and handled poorly. Online, it said 15 minutes. Once we arrived, the host told us 20-30. Then another employee came up, didn't even check the list or the tablet, glanced at us, and immediately said "40 minutes." It felt dismissive and honestly left us questioning if we were being judged or discriminated against, especially since the restaurant was nearly empty compared to what we're used to. We also noticed the service was noticeably slower and the staff was mostly new faces. The energy and efficiency that the previous manager upheld are missing now. It's frustrating to see a place we used to look forward to feel so unfamiliar and unwelcoming. We left without eating, which has never happened before. Very disappointed.

The Barbacoa Quesadilla Benedict! 10 stars! I wish it was a permanent menu item. I just couldn't believe how good it was! I hope they still have it, I want to go back and have it again. First Watch never disappoints. Been here several times and have enjoyed it every time. This time was just a tad odd, I wanted freshly squeezed OJ. They didn't have any. Huh? A breakfast joint with no OJ? Waiter told me that the manager went to buy oranges after my request. Oh well. The flavors at First Watch are all nicely balanced. Comfortable seating and ambiance and not too loud, either. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Staff was great and seated us immediately this morning. The iced cream coffee was delicious but next time I will ask to hold the ice down. More ice than coffee. I ordered the chorizo omelette and loved it. The eggs were moist and not over done. The bread was a thick sliced grain toast. Also yummy. When I'm in Arizona, this is my go-to breakfast place.

First time at this location, so I was pretty excited to see how this differs compared to your usual locations. Food: My food was pretty good! It was flavorful, tempered correctly, and fresh. Temperature: Perfect! Can't get much better than that :). Atmosphere: Pretty busy as usual. It felt refreshing and nice. Very social and what you expect during breakfast hours. Value: Not to bad considering how much food you get. I still think breakfast in general is a bit pricy then it once was. In terms of value, I'd say its OK but not something I would consider a value proposition when you compare to other breakfast establishments. The quality is there so no complaints. Recommendation: I don't really have any to be honest. The server we had was great. She was attentive, made suggestions, and even made sure we were good quite often. Great customer interaction, and what you expect and want when spending your hard earned dollars :).

They ran out of churros :( Always a great place to come with friends. There's a big menu. Service is always good. Ambience is cozy and bustling. There's always a wait on weekends 30-40 minutes. I would give 5 stars for taste alone, but I find the portions to be a tad on the smaller size. I always am just a little hungry even after finishing everything on my plate.

Spring salad series! I've eaten here many times and have always had great food here! So, as part of my spring salad series, I wanted to check out the chicken avocado salad. The combination of the ingredients was great it actually reminded me of a southwest salad, especially with e Chipotle vinegarette, but unfortunately, the salad didn't taste as fresh as I had hoped. It was OK, but I would either order again to see if maybe they get the freshness right next time or just skip the salads altogether. Again, I love the food here. It's one of my favorite brunch spots, but as of right now, it's not a go-to for salad. I also ordered a purple haze drink that was AMAZING.

That whole St. Philip's area always has a great energy, and UPH is a big part of that. There's usually a crowd, live music or sports on, and it feels like one of those places where you can bring friends from out of town and know it'll be a fun time. Food is consistently solid. The grilled chicken sandwich is my go-to and it's good every time. We both usually get one, and a lot of the time we'll add buffalo wings, which are some of our favorites in Tucson. Good flavor, good texture, and always reliable. If anything, the wings could always use a little more sauce, but they're still one of the better orders on the menu. The only real issue, and it happens pretty often, is the service speed. Everyone there is friendly, but the place always feels understaffed, especially when it's busy. We've had multiple times sitting outside in the Arizona heat where it takes 15-20 minutes just to get water to the table, and you start wondering if you should go up to the bar yourself to get things moving. Once service gets going everything is fine, but getting that first round of attention can take longer than it should for how often this place fills up. Even with that, we keep coming back. The food is consistent, the atmosphere is great, and the plaza has a real sense of community that makes it easy to hang out there for a while. It's one of our go-to spots in Tucson, and it's still somewhere we bring friends when they're visiting. Food 7.5 Ambience 8 Service 7 Price 7 7.4 overall C Great place to spend time, just don't expect everything to happen quickly when it's busy.

And if you've made dinner plans, or just want to have some bar food while watching sports, Union does that too! What I love: Ice-cold, bubbly bottomless mimosas on a pleasant Sunday morning. Burgers (they make a good burger) with basketball on at Sunset. This is a great hangout spot at any time of day, and service has been consistently outstanding. What I also enjoy: The breakfast food sticks to the basics, but is done well. They make surprisingly decent pizzas, if you're in the mood for that. As with everything else in the surrounding plaza, it gets busy and there's often some sort of event out front, usually a market or live music. You should drop by while the weather is still perfect!

Places are successful because they stay the course and do what they do best. Today we went with the four meat platter, perfect amount for two people, brisket, pulled pork, turkey and sausage. With four side of coleslaw, mac and cheese, potato salad and cornbread. All meats are still sauced unless requested "on the side", but not so much to overwhelm the meat taste. Juicy flavorful pulled pork. Delicious smoked turkey. Brisket was just slightly dry but the sauce and nice bark made it enjoyable. The sausage was AMAZING, juicy and packed with flavor. Coleslaw in my opinion, could use a little more "wetness" but it was still delicious. What can I say about the mac and cheese and potato salad, people from the south, Texas to the Carolina's just know how to get it done. The "Texas Sweet Tea", if you are a diabetic do not drink, however this is a true southern tea, it's done the same all across the south, sugar with some tea thrown in. Four meats, four sides and two drinks with tip $50, not bad for two people, I've definitely spent more for food that didn't even come close to this. Once again Smoky Mo you did not disappoint. If you are a BBQ person this is STILL the best of Tucson. Get out and support this small local business!

I ordered a small combo plate of ribs and sliced brisket (sliced with the grain and not cross it as it should have been) and my sides were greens and coleslaw. I did not see the sign that said all of their meats were sauced, but if I saw it, I would not have had them put sauce on anything. As someone who smokes a lot of food, when I taste meat, I want to taste the meat and the seasoning and the smoke itself. The ribs and brisket were very tender, but all I could taste was the vinegar in the barbecue sauce. It completely ruins the meal for me because if I wanted to drink barbecue sauce, I would've asked them for a side of it with a straw. I did not taste the meat, I did not taste the seasoning, I did not taste the smoke. I also believe that if a pitmaster floods their product with barbecue sauce, they are hiding something. So I can't tell you anything about the meats other than everything tasted like barbecue sauce. For the side dishes, I got the coleslaw which was tasty and the greens. You can see the picture I took after I finished the greens and it looked like I had a cup of soup. I don't know why they wouldn't drain the water out of the greens. Since I was the only one in the restaurant, I was also surprised that nobody came up to me and asked me how the food was. They were all busy on their phones or talking to each other than to check with one of their paying customers if they were enjoying their food. The place itself, physically, I liked because it was a hole in the wall type atmosphere. I don't think I would've chosen contemporary hip-hop for my guests to hear. So that's it, I'm giving it two stars only because the tenderness of the meat, but definitely not because of any other flavoring I tasted. I also felt it was extremely overpriced for the portion size. I tried it, now I can write a review and know that I will never go back again.

My wife pulled out her trusty phone, where she soon was directed to the highly-rated Raptor Canyon Cafe. So off we went. A warm and sincere greeting was the first of many pleasant things that we would experience in the next 45 minutes or so. The attitude and warmth of the staff here is exceptional. One really feels appreciated and welcomed while here. (*at least, my wife and I did) The place is decorated with a cute desert-Southwest vibe. A large building-sized mural of Father Kino mounted upon his rock-pony, is framed by the cute windows that look out on the quiet downtown streets. "Comfortable, with a slight splash of a mid-1970's Tucson cafe" is the energy I felt as we dined. One of my favorite things in the place is a steel-welded hawk figurine that is perched above the stately kitchen door. I imagined him tapping gently as he sat above the busy floor. And quoth the raptor, "The quesadilla is fy-orre". (Yes, I know, "floor", and "fire" don't really rhyme.) I never said I could spit fire (street lingo for being able to rhyme well.) My wife broke-character and ordered a breakfast sandwich. She normally goes for something more exotic, but as it turns out, this choice was a hit. Sometimes, simple things can offer great pleasures-and her egg and bacon filled biscuit offered proof of this statement. I listened to the imagined whisper of the watchful hawk, and decided to follow his raptorial wisdom/advice. Soon, the bacon quesadilla was placed before me (see photo). I added a splash of the locally produced hot sauce offered with a bit of ketchup and it all came together beautifully. The textures of the grilled tortilla; the barely not too hot melted cheese, and the crispy thick slices of bacon were as close to perfection that plate of breakfast could come. It really was good-eating in the neighborhood. We both ordered the fried potatoes with peppers and onions. If you go and don't get one of these, it will be a rookie move. Do not forget to order this side...esta muy bueno! It is actually a lot of food, and my better-half and I agreed that we could have split the dish. But, as we stood to say our good-byes and thank you's, neither of our plates had any evidence that fried potatoes had recently rested upon them. They actually looked like they had just been taken from the dishwasher--spot less. All-and-all, this place quickly worked its way into my heart. It's got wonderful chow (just In case I didn't emphasize how tasty is was--it was "really-really-really" good eats). The entire Raptor Canyon's staff shared pleasant demeanors, and the place has a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. Officially, I would categorize this establishment as a, "hidden gem" of Tucson. You have my permission to go there, but please keep it, "on the down-low "so that it doesn't get too popular. (*wink)
