We've been to 6 Fish City Grills.. one by our old house, in another city, we used to go to 2x per month.. The Prosper one is definitely the biggest disappointment. Our 2nd time there. 1st time, only 3 tables of customers.. waiters and manager eating off of the line, took 1 1/2 hours to complete our meal.... My husband has refused to go back, but I told him we should give it 1 more try...This time, 7 tables open and a 35-45 minute wait. Asked if they were short staffed tonight, manager said "No, just want to be able to give good service..". (It's not a large place).. so we sat at the bar to wait and have a drink.. bartenders were very friendly and attentive... (I did see one of the bartenders marry 2 bottles of liquor (combine 2 bottles that were half empty into one to make 1 full bottle-- which is illegal.).... 2 others waiting came to the bar. We decided to eat at the bar. Watched wait staff eat off the line, 5-6 waiters just standing around eating and joking behind their service counter. No wonder the tables were empty, no one works. I got the seafood platter... grilled catfish was crunchy (over cooked), oysters were cold, and hush puppies were raw inside. The manager came over and apologized. I told him about everything that happened and how I've been to many FC restaurants and was always happy with my experience, told him about our last visit and then how we were disappointed at this one again.. He asked my husband how his food was. My husband said his was good. He thanked my husband for being nice and then looked back at me. We will NOT be going back. If we want this menu, we will go back to the one in Allen or Half Shells (owned by same company) off of Legacy in Plano. read more

The menu looks great, but the food is average. I ordered the chipotle honey shrimp tacos. The shrimp was overly cooked and smothered in the sauce, so much sauce and honey overpowering the taste of the shrimp. If you have heartburn this is not a good idea. Also ordered the chicken penne pasta. We had leftovers at home. Warmed it up, and so much oil floated to the top. Disappointing restaurant. For the price you're better off going to Pappadeux's seafood restaurant. read more

We had high expectations but I think it was just a bad night for them. We called to make a reservation and they said they don't take them but there were a couple of seats at the bar, so we rushed over there hoping those seats will still be there (lol). Once there they had only one bartender working the bar and we waited 25 mins for drinks I ordered a dragonfruit martini and it was worth the wait because it was well needed. We ended up ordering crab cakes and the crab and shrimp stuffed flounder. After about 45 mins passing the manager went around the bar apologizing to everyone and asking for patience as the kitchen was backed up. We got the crab cakes and they were mediocre I have definitely had better crab cakes at other places. Once the main dish came out it was very disappointing the presentation was ok but the food was bland and lukewarm my fiancé was highly disappointed he didn't even want to complain to the manager he wanted to pay and hot tail it across the street to Texas Roadhouse (which we did eventually) the manager was so apologetic and wanted the feedback to improve which was surprising. We ordered another round of drinks and went across the street. However my fiancé did say he would like to try them again because he just believes they can do better. read more

The food was DELICIOUS!!! We ordered the seafood platter and crab bisque. Fernando came to our table with samples which were all delicious!!! Gumbo and jalapeño soup were both delicious. I think my favorite was fried oysters. I highly recommend it!!! read more

I saw the reviews and the pictures of the food looked like this would turn out to be a great spot. Food - for a party of 4 we had gumbo, calamari, catfish plate, seafood boil, shrimp and grits, and fried chicken sandwich. They mistakenly gave us a crab cake that the waiter let us have which was cool as I was torn between trying the gumbo or the crab cake and decided on the gumbo. The crab cake tasted like it was made with 1 week old crab meat so much so that I gagged. I hate to say this but none of the food was good and all of it lacked flavor on any level. Now, seafood boil, hard to mess that up I thought, but I was wrong. The crab cluster was very muddy and wasn't clean and was so watered down from sitting in a pot of water too long I"m assuming that the crab lost its natural sweetness and was not enjoyable at all. The shrimp was tasteless and I just don't know why or how??? I ordered the catfish to give that a try, as again, hard to mess up fried catfish. I was wrong, the catfish had absolutely no seasoning at all. My daughter had the shrimp and grits and was severely disappointed, I tasted them, and can honestly say had I closed my eyes I probably would've thought I was eating wet paper as it had no flavor at all. I'm sorry but people spend their HARD earned money and this is unacceptable as a restaurant. Lastly, to their defense, the waiter was cool (took forever to get our food btw), I told him that I wasn't pleased and he offered the bread pudding on the house. My kids obliged and stated that it was the best bread pudding they ever had, however I didn't take eat any, because one, I don't like bread pudding, two, because at this point doing the same thing expecting a different result equates to insanity right?!?! BUT, BUT, I had a cup of coffee that was really great tasting coffee for a restaurant as I'm also a coffee snob with a espresso machine, chemex, and french press, and a grinder in my kitchen at home. So if we ever go back, (which I seriously doubt we will) we'd go for a bread pudding and a cup of hot joe and steer clear of their actual food, hope this helps someone. read more

Food is ok. Nothing outstanding except that it's close to folks out here, which is good. Average prices for average seafood meals. Staff is nice. They try to make customers happy, which says a lot! No real complaints. Ambiance is nice too. read more

I'm so glad we finally have a seafood restaurant in Prosper! This was my 3rd time to go and the porch is awesome, service quick and food was excellent. This place would have received 5 stars for service, ambiance and food; however, my shrimp and scallops had so much salt (like the cook forgot he added it and added more?) that it was almost inedible. Will be back to give them another try. Temperature and flavor were great. read more

Fantastic experience. Dined in on Saturday the 20th. Service was literally the best I've ever had and the redfish special was amazing. The manager kenny I believe was his name, tall handsome guy, was so funny and seemed to know everything about the business. We had never been to a fish city before and we were asking him questions about the company and he gave us the whole history which I thought was pretty impressive. We noticed an older gentleman who was a manager start to yell at him and saw him handle it so calmly and tell the other manager to calm down. It seemed he was getting overwhelmed about something. Anyways it is rare to see a restaurant manager be as relaxed , steady, and on point as that on a Saturday night. Everything we have tried has been excellent. I particularly love the lobster bisque, and the lobster and shrimp grilled cheese is the ultimate comfort food. We've tried a few specials which have all been great. Jessica has been our server for our two recent visits. She is absolutely fantastic! Everything got to our table in a timely manner and was exactly as we ordered it. Our drinks were never empty. We will absolutely be back. read more

A perfect place for our ladies lunch! We felt so welcome and that the staff wanted us to really enjoy our visit. We enjoyed sitting on the patio but in indoor decor is very nice as well. The manager brought us a tasting of the soups and the oyster nachos. The soups were all VERY good and we all agreed we might not have tried the oyster nachos otherwise but, they were great!!
