Don't let this lonely spot fool you. It's quiet when you get in yet everything there is superb. the quality of the mahi mahi, Blackened and fish tacos were exceptional - so fresh so clean and tasty! I ordered my trout blackened with rice and zucchini. They gave me some sort of sauce on the side which I appreciate instead of pouring it all over the food. The BF got the mahi mahi and daughter the fish tacos, she loved them and she's a picky eater. The service was sweet - and the place was clean... Food is scrumptious here. I tried their salmon pasta, and was very surprised by how fresh the salmon tasted. The salmon was impressively seasoned and well cooked too. I don't know how they do it, but I honestly thought I was eating one of the freshest grilled salmons I've ever had. The alfredo pasta was good, no complaints. This place is delicious and portions are actually bigger than CFG. Their cajun and garlic better tasted the same as CFG and their grilled zucchini is much better too. This place is slight notch up from CFG so that goes to telling you alot. The only thing I miss the variety of salsa and that is not served here. This place is new, but I thought it was pretty good. I got fish and chips (ask a New Zealander to say "fish and chips", you'll be amazed) and I got mahi mahi and Italian noodles for my wife. It was a to-go order, and the drive from the Stater Bros parking lot on Euclid south of Malvern up, through the hills, to La Habra, with fried fish and french fries next to me in an enclosed vehicle was torture! The fish was still crisp when I got home, and the fries were good (not amazing, but not sad) and crispy. I had one pasta noodle from my wife's order. They put the sauce in little containers on the side, at least when they pack it to go. I might get the noodle dish next time, with salmon (ask my boss to say "salmon"; he'll tell you "there's an 'L' in the word, right?"). They give you tartar sauce and vinegar with the fush and chups (that's how kiwis say it!) and the fish pieces are smaller sized and easier to bite into, unlike the slabs of half-fish you got at the old "Long Silver Fish". Sauce was okay, rice was buttery and cooked perfectly and the zucchini you can really do it yourself. Red snapper with cajun- rice and grilled zucchini. Sauce was tasty but nothing stands out about it. Fried fish taco- the size was too small for almost $3? Yep, never again. It was very mediocre at best, it literally looked like a fried fish stick, threw in some cabbage and I tasted mayo in the dressing. Save your money and order elsewhere. California fish grill and Fishbonz are way better options and I will stick to Ensenada's Surf N Turf grill for fish taco. I won't come back here. read more

Ever since I've been back from my vacation to Ireland (who has amazing fish and chips), I've been on a hunt for some good fish and chips in Orange County...and this is the place! This was my first time eating here on a friend's recommendation, and I will definitely be back! First of all, the service was great - everyone on staff is very easygoing and friendly. The interior was very clean, and there's plenty of parking outside. The line to order food also moves quickly (came for dinner around 5:30pm). The food is all made to order and fresh while still only being ~10 min wait for food, so it's definitely a great place to come for a quick, fresh meal. I ordered the fish tacos with mahi mahi, and they were delicious and filling! The fish and the sauce on top were both flavorful, and the flavors are also really well balanced (i.e. not too fishy, etc.). I also loved the fish tacos because of how light the sauce is while still being filling. A lot of times, tacos can be pretty heavy, but I thought this sauce made these tacos really amazing and light, and I was definitely satisfied after eating my 3 tacos. The salmon was cut a little thin but my wife said it was so juicy and flavorful and the veggies cooked perfect. We have been to the standard CA fish grill and Mr Fish in our area and this was much better. The quality and taste were great. My fish and chips were nicely breaded but not too much but with plenty of fish inside. A lot of places just have a ton of coating but with not much fish...here it was the perfect amount of fish and coating. So tasty and not greasy or oily. It was fried perfectly. The rice was bland looking but had butter or something in it that really spruced up the flavor. It was very tasty. The portions were great, the service was good and quick. If you've ever had California Fish Grill before, Fish Daddy Grill is just like it. Except it lacks the flavor and freshness of CA Fish Grill. But it's cheaper. Slightly. Parking was easy because the plaza it was in is not the busiest. I called in advance to pick up two orders and my order was ready by the time I arrived, which was quicker than what they had quoted to me on the phone. They have similar side options like CA Fish Grill, but not as many choices. The grilled salmon didn't taste very fresh and the garlic butter sauce really lacked flavor. The red snapper wasn't that great either. I didn't finish my food. This place is just alright, but if you've ever had CA Fish Grill before, I don't think you'll enjoy this as much. read more
