We were so excited to see Fish Daddy open. We have been there twice. We tried the Grilled Mahi, fish and chips, chowder and calamari. We loved all of them. The Mahi is wild the fish and chips are cod. I wish the chowder was gluten free, maybe they will consider a gf option. Not much on atmosphere. They need some background music to warm it up in there. Got take out for dinner last night for our family of 5. Cajun swai, garlic butter salmon, fish and chips, clam chowder. The food was great, nicely seasoned, nice and hot, good portion size. I liked the rice and zucchini as sides. Our family loves CA fish grill and we all agreed that the food was similar, my daughter thought fish daddy was even better! We are glad to have found this place (which is much closer in distance to us than the nearest CFG). The employee taking our order was super nice, answered our questions patiently. I was disappointed. I can only guess that either the 4.5 reviews were friendly or got there on a triple bio rhythm high day. I had the clam chowder (watery broth, fragments of clam evident, and seasoned to please the blandest taste); and the two taco combo (I had the Cajun mahi and the Cajun shrimp).. The tacos were the double corn tortilla in the small small size served in most taquerias... the shrimp were just a bit larger than bay shrimp and again bland seasoning... the same for the Cajun mahi. The white rice and beans again met the bland do not offend level. The comparison to Ca Fish Grill is a C- to Ca Fish Grill's B. I will give them another try in Feb and hope for improvement. read more

The food here is fresh and tastes amazing. I ordered the white fish (Swai) with the garlic butter sauce. It was fabulous. The best fish I've had in a long time and it was the least expensive grilled fish on the menu! I had mine with salad and ginger dressing and also the grilled zucchini. Both were excellent. My companion had the fish and shrimp combo. Would have giving but no soap in the restroom is a pet peeve of mine... especially during flu season. read more

Thank you Fish Daddy for opening up just in time. My usual Fish Grill place in Brea has gone down hill and disappointing. I recently found Fish Daddy in Fullerton and I've never looked back. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous. The atmosphere is a no frills dining but well worth the 10 minute wait. Lunch time gets packed so get there early and allow your pallet to enjoy some light and tasty delights. Your pallet, tummy, and heart will thank you. I would have posted a photo but I ate it all. I'm hearing a lot of "mmm, mmm, mmm" from my spouse. He says the cole slaw is made fresh and the best he's ever had. The rice is perfectly fluffy. The fish is delicious. I had the salmon and he had the Pacific snapper. The Cajun butter and the garlic butter is on the side so you can season the fish the way you like. The salad is hand washed and cut, not out of a plastic container from a big, box store. I chose the sesame ginger dressing-lovely.The restaurant is clean and simple. This will definitely be a regular stop for us. You may want to call ahead because everything is made fresh and that takes a little more time than fast food, for sure. read more

Fish was fresh and cooked perfectly, not dry, tender with firmness in the mouth. Cole slaw was good too, not too wet, with golden raisins mixed into the crunch. The grilled zucchini was standard fare, nothing that stood out but did not disappoint. Overall, it's good value for the amount and quality of food. I love crispy fish tacos and this place is my favorite by far. The chipotle sauce is so tasty. The grilled shrimp tacos are delicious too, so flavorful. The orders do take a long time to come out, so I recommend placing a takeout order since they are order-at-counter anyway. I wish they didn't close so early, otherwise I'd come more often. read more

You can order a variety of fish tacos, fish and chips, fish wraps, grilled fish, or fish pasta. Some of the selections are wild-caught. The sides get high marks: the salad, grilled zucchini and fries were perfect. They could use a soda fountain (versus bottled soda) and a selection of unsweetened ice tea would be nice. Fish tacos I had the salmon and another fish I don't remember. I liked them both, but the salmon flavor was masked a bit too much by the sauce and seasoning for my taste.
