Really enjoyed the food on our recent visit. The menu is not extensive and offers few fish or seafood items but there is something for everyone. The shrimp pot stickers were a bit ordinary but everything else was delicious. Brisket was perfection, salmon better than we had hoped and hamburger was great. We were seated in the middle of the dining room on a very cold night. Every time someone opened the door we got a blast of cold. Why we were seated at this table is a mystery to me as when we arrived there were many open tables and staff have to know this is an issue. Just a caution-insist on something either protected from the 28 degree breezes or ask for something deep in the room. read more

At first we didn't care for where we were sitting so we saw a booth was opening up & they moved us. Why would you seat us by the kitchen door where the servers would be passing us, after we were moved no one was seated there rest of night. Now on to dinner I really gave this place another chance but the tuna was not good had no taste it said it was blackened but it was not even warm on outside, the Sunday dinner Ceasars salad had barely any dressing, fish & chips also not very tasty, best part of dinner was my arugula watermelon salad & the brownie & ice cream. Where I do begin.... the food, drinks and service was top notch! The followed the coivd precautions very well. Ok back to the food.... This was our first time at Fish On. Our lovely, Kelly, was so good. Our food was served hot and in a timely fashion. Which is kind of rare when you're eating at a busy restaurant. I got the mussels in red sauce. Mic drop! Perfect! The right spiciness, perfect portion size, and the mussels were not sandy. Side note, the mussels could be shared, BUT the portion size, to me, was meant for one person. My husband got the calamari, sooooo good. This is another app, that could be shared, but perfect for one person. We both got the Captains Platter..... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. The seafood was fresh, its a good entrée if you torn about what kind of fish you want, then get this dish. So good. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you're a little nervous about dining in at a restaurant, Fish on made us feel comfortable and safe. read more

Outstanding dinner July 4th weekend. We've been here quite a few times. Always excellent. Out of state guests were treated to dinner. Unique cocktails were too good! Calamari and heirloom tomato/mozz apps were excellent. Fish & chips, grilled trout, mussels and green curry lo mein were all as good as it gets! We shared the honeybun bread pudding with ice cream. Came to Delaware to visit my mother for Thanksgiving. She made a reservation for 5pm. We arrived at said time & the restaurant was closed. No one called to tell us that they had decided not to open. My mother said that she provided a phone number & also her address which they asked for. Needless to say it was a disappointing holiday. Thank goodness Cracker Barrel was open. read more

Fish on is a great place. Went last night with my husband, he had crab cakes, which he said were delicious, I got my favorite, shrimp and grits. Also went last week with my daughter. Always have a fantastic meal and wonderful service. Very friendly, and you are never rushed. Another dinner that was fantastic. Had the blacken scallops on a bed of corn, tomatoes, green beans, mushrooms, and pepper, with the most wonderful fried Brussels spouts. Husband had crab cakes, which are always great, full of crab and never filling. Whoever says this place is not a great place, apparently can't afford it. Love all the restaurant owned by Sodel, keep on doing great work. Can't wait for the brewery!!! read more

I have family that lives near this establishment so we've been here multiple times throughout the years. In recent months I discovered they removed my favorite menu item, a very delicious lobster mac & cheese. I was very disappointed, but they have some other good choices. My family always orders the calamari appetizer, which we often fight over because it's quite good, better than most calamari I've had at other places. There are a couple other appetizers we've ordered that weren't bad either, but the calamari is always our go-to starter. For the past couple visits I've ordered a special of a couple fried lobster tails, which tasted wonderful - but both times I ended up having a stomachache and nearly getting sick later in the night. So while the place seems fairly clean and doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the food, I'm a little hesitant to return... or at least I'll order something else besides the lobster tails. If I'd posted a review a couple years ago back before they changed the menu and didn't get sick, it would've been much more positive and I'd have gladly given more stars. But as of right now, I'm unfortunately a bit disappointed with my most recent visits. read more

So very pleased with the social distancing setup here! It is clear they take the safety of their patrons seriously, in a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing way. We ate here twice within a week - both times seated in the outdoor area. Our food both evenings was spot-on, the wines were great and fairly priced, and wait staff was terrific. We had a large group for dinner, I showed up after everyone else had arrived. Asked the waiter if I could take an extra seat from a nearby empty table, he said, let me ask my manager. Takes 10 mins to get a chair from somewhere else instead of just letting me take the nearby seat. Most tables outside are empty. No utensils, no drink order once chair arrives. I ask a passing waitress, not our waiter, if I can order a drink, she gives me a dirty look and completely ignores me. Didn't receive utensils until after my food had arrived. The whole time there were two managers talking to each other instead of helping customers or their team. Food was well below expectations. read more

So the worst experience I have ever had. All the way from the server to the manager. Yes the patio was nice at first until there were flys all over the place. We asked the server if there was an open bar and he said yes. To me that means pretty much everything and they can make anything. I wanted a mojito and he says well they can't make that. Ok how about a frozen drink. They don't have a blender. The Server never went over the specials and I then proceeded to talk to manager and she said well we can't get you another server because we are understaff. She like that server has been here for awhile and I know he went over it. I'm like no he didn't. She then said we are not going to get you another server. The fact that Fish On! is located in Disney-esque and squeaky-clean Village of Five Points made me fear that it would emulate the ubiquitous chain restaurants found baking in vast parking lots in hum-drum suburbia. But much to my delight, it does nothing of the sort. Fish On! serves quality and fresh seafood in a hip setting with moderate prices. Menu items include prawns with grits, Lewes seafood stew (mussels, clams, shrimp, fish, in a tomato base), salmon, scallops, and crab soup. Although they accommodate children (macaroni & cheese and burgers), I suggest you leave them home so you can enjoy a nice adult evening out. There's a bar if you need to wait for a table and service is friendly and swift. And while it's casual (we are at the beach), I recommend putting on something a little nicer, like a shirt with a collar. read more

I have nothing but good things to say. The food was fabulous. Very fresh and many local offerings. They combined flavors well and everything was cooked well. They were accommodating to the children that we had with us. The beer and wine list was great. You must order dessert, they are some of the best desserts that I have had. We liked this place so much that we did something that we have never done and probably will never do again...we went for dinner twice during our 1 week vacation. I never go back to the same place twice, I aways want to see what else is out there. We couldn't resist the temptation of trying some other things that looked good on the menu that we didn't order the first time. The second meal was better than the first. read more

My partner and I went here for dinner on a weekday while staying at a local B&B. Food: We got the platter as well as the fish and chips and weren't impressed with either. Both of us had stomachaches soon after. Drink: If you do go here, check out Matt's root beers. They are fantastic! Service: The service was wonderful. Our waitress was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Atmosphere: They are also dog friendly outside, which was wonderful as we had our two pups with us. It was a clean and well spaced outside area, though the flies were almost unbearable. Might do the restaurant good to spray some witch hazel with peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil on the area to keep them at bay without the gross citronella smell. read more

Meh. Uninspired cuisine in a boring space. Tables & booths seemed old and tired. Food was fine but nothing to get excited about. Service was friendly. Overpriced for the location & quality. We tried the brussel sprouts, calamari, monkfish special, & scallops. We had been advised against going here by a merchant in Lewes but most of the restaurants in downtown Lewes were closed and we had already been to the ones that were open so we decided to form our own opinion. This will appear unfair because we ended up not eating here -- and therein lies the rub. We were told that nothing on the menu could be guaranteed to not have nuts in it, which is a big problem for someone with a nut allergy. This seems pretty hard to fathom, especially when we wanted to order a salad without walnuts on top. How hard is it NOT to add walnuts? I appreciate the waiter's honesty (and I'm sure he was being sincere about it, too) but it's a bad deal when a restaurant can't serve fresh food without an errant ingredient finding its way into a dish. read more

Looking for a restaurant in Lewes that serves great food, with very good service, in a nice laid back atmosphere, and you won't have to deal with parking hassles? "Fish On" is that restaurant. Awesome that I have a vacation condo that is walking distance to "Fish On". They do not take reservations, but there is a nice, large bar to wait at should you need to. I have dined there three or four times and all food received high marks: the lobster mac and cheese, the burger, the scallops atop corn, bacon and asparagus and the New England clam chowder. Very satisfied with all aspects of this place. Prices are a tad on the higher side, but the quality of the food warrants it. I have yet to have dessert, but I have heard good things, so perhaps next time :) read more

Fish On is the place to be for happy hour. The selection of appetizers and small plates is perfect for getting together with friends and colleagues. Last night I met a friend, I had the shaved brussel sprouts, she had the beet salad and we shared the fish tacos. All very good. The shaved brussel sprouts is my new favorite dish. Still very good! I'd love more fish on the menu but keeping it fresh and in season is a challenge. My husband loves the short rib. Hoping sodel acquisition of Crust and Craft will bring some breads, the mussels are such a feast I would love a better bread to sop the yummy broth! I should mention the hamburgers are fantastic and glad to finally get one, my husband prefers beef and I think that's crazy in a fish place but this is an exception! Always great service. read more

Love! This is the one Sodel spot we seem to forget, and it won't happen again! We will say up front, we always eat at the bar and rarely have entrées. The happy hour till 7:00 is awesome with great food and drink specials. The fish tacos, wings and Brussell Sprouts are all outstanding and service is always top notch. Half price wine (Friday night) is the best deal in town. Always have great beer and wine selection. The Oysters are exceptional and we have honestly never had anything here that we did not enjoy. We keep stopping back and keep being impressed. Wings and steam buns are killer All the specials are great and Luke is one of our favorite bartenders! read more

The food was good. Not really good. But, good. I was in town for few months and was offered to join a group of individuals on a business meeting/dinner - who was going to take care of the bill. I would not have gone here if I had to pay for the dinner myself. The food is quite pricey. I had 4 items (the portion size was quite small compared to the price) totaling near $75. For the price, could've been better. The place is located in an upscale type of area. So, would be a good location to go on a date. But, probably not for a random eat outs. The view from the window is just parking lot and condos. I would much rather go for a sea shore view eatery or something on 2nd st. read more

Still just ok! 2 orders of Fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans and summer squash. This is our 4th visit in 4 years. The food as at each previous visit is just ok. They do seafood a little better. We have ordered similar dinners at the 2 Matt's, and other SoDel restaurants. The food at each of them has been better than here. The prices seem less expensive these days, off season specials are available. The chicken was flavorful, but unevenly seasoned, somewhat over done, and quite tough compared to the other SoDel restaurants! read more

Fish On is in Five Points in a nice setting with sufficient parking in the rear of the building. This is my 3rd visit-- all for dinner. We made reservations which is a plus. You are able to avoid the crowds of Lewes and Rehoboth here. The ambiance and service is good and the food is fairly good. Crab cake sandwich and crab cake dinner plate are good but not impressive-- small to average size. The seafood pasta has a good sauce, tasty, but seafood is not plentiful. We had a vegetarian with us and she enjoyed her salmon. Overall a positive experience, but I am anxious to try other restaurants. read more

My Mom lives in Lewes and when we visit we always make sure to do happy hour at Fish On! They are famous for happy hour and do a very nice job making as many spots as they can in the bar area, but just know that it may be crowded. Always have some great beers on draft (my husband is a self proclaimed beer snob and always finds something he's excited about) and the bartenders do great mixed drinks. The food specials are great too, the steamed shrimp are fresh and jumbo and the wings are delish. We always find ourselves going back. read more

(Oops! Wrote this in 2015 but never posted it. My spouse and I have been back several times and always enjoyed it.) Went here for happy hour because of the reputation of the founding chef but at a more affordable price.It was off-season and pretty slow. I sat at the bar but it took a while for the bartender to acknowledge me. After getting a waitress her drink order, and after hearing me ask for menu, it took a few minutes to actually be given it. (How difficult is it to grab the pieces of paper and put it in front of me?) She wasn't particularly outgoing at the beginning but became more so as the meal went on. I ordered one of each $1 oyster, chicken wings, the mussels without either jalapeno or chorizo because I am pretty wimpy about spices, and the Caesar salad. The chicken wings were some of the best I have ever had. Fat, but not fatty, not drowning in any sauce - just enough to make it delicious and tasty. The Caesar salad was a nice large size, crispy and also not drowning in any dressing. The mussels were still spicy and the accompanying piece of bread (supposedly wonderful at this restaurant) was charcoaled (tasting burnt instead of any good bread flavor). I did not eat them so she took them off the bill, which I appreciated. What was as good as the delicious wings, was the sight of a Food Channel show on one of the TVs instead of just sports. Why don't all good bar/restaurants do this? Everyone at the bar was watching it and commenting. Brilliant move on the bartender's part. read more

Went with a party of 5 to celebrate a 65 wedding aniversary.All 5 meals were substandard and bordering on inedible.Shock that the Sodel chain could turn out such a terrible product.My daughter did call to detail our experience and we received an email that someone would get back to us.That never happened as well.Your dollars are better spent elsewhere. read more

Unbelievably bad service. Had to remind the waitress after about 15 minutes that I had ordered a glass of wine. After they brought our food she never came back to the table to ask if all was good. And it wasn't. Raw oysters were bland and uninspired. Lump crab meat was not lump and did not seem fresh. It could not be eaten (and was taken off the tab.) The peel and eat shrimp tasted like they were boiled in dirty water. I had the New Bedford scallops (4 for $32) and while the quality was good they were served on wax paper in a pool of grease. Sodel restaurants always disappoint. We won't be going back ever. read more

I was disappointed with the halibut. Both mine and my son's was overdone. Wife's crab cakes were very good. Service could have been better. Had to ask for things several times. For example, order coffee and dessert. Had to remind them about coffee which didn't come until dessert about finished. read more
